I sat in her chair and told her I wanted a change. I told her my concerns and then she told me what she thought I should get. It was like she read my mind. When she told me I think Caramel highlights would look great from that moment I knew she was the one to do my hair. So I did partial highlights with a glaze and a blow out. I was so happy with the outcome. She fixed a cut I had previously had that I was not to crazy about. I will return to add more highlights to what she did in a couple of months. On Wednesday, I had my roots touched up with a single-process color. When I got home, it was obvious that the color was uneven, with one section noticeably darker than the rest. I called the salon on Thursday and explained the issue. At that time, I was told it would be corrected as a complimentary service. When I arrived Saturday, the colorist acknowledged the color difference as did both owners. The owner, Joel, told the colorist it was because she did not pull the color through my hair enough to blend it. However, then I was informed that I would have to pay $100 for a toner to fix a mistake that was not mine. I was shocked I was being asked to pay to fix a color error. I have had this happen in the past at other salons and it has always been fixed without an issue. As someone who has supported this salon for years, I expected much better customer service. Mistakes can happen, but how a business handles them is what matters. Instead of honoring what I had been told and correcting the uneven color, I was asked to pay more to fix their work. I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and undervalued as a longtime customer. Unfortunately, because the salon would not correct the issue without charging me, I now have to purchase color and fix it myself at home. I sincerely hope Salon Council reconsiders how they treat loyal customers when a service does not turn out as expected.

At my most recent appointment, I had a very uncomfortable experience. After being seated, I was addressed in front of others about a comment that my hair is "never right" and that my stylist may not be the right fit for me. This was not what I intended, and it felt embarrassing to have that conversation publicly while already in the chair. There have been times where I've needed minor adjustments after seeing the final color fully styled, which have always been addressed and corrected without issue. I continued to return because I was generally happy with the end result. I completely understand that concerns about adjustments may need to be discussed, and I respect that not every client/stylist relationship is the right fit. However, I would have appreciated a private conversation beforehand rather than being put in that position at the start of the appointment. The way this was handled felt unprofessional and disappointing, especially given the level of service and cost. I booked an appointment around 6 PM for the next morning, had an unexpected situation come up, and canceled at 7 AM when they opened. They charged me $150. Their website says 12 hours in one place and 24 hours in another, so apparently I also needed a time machine. I left a Google review, then still called twice trying to resolve it. No return calls. Instead, I got an email and a public response accusing me of "purposely trying to harm the business." Since they prefer responding to reviews instead of returning phone calls, here I am on Yelp. The funniest part? After all that determination to keep the $150, I now have to dispute the charge, so they may not even get to keep it.

Because I was already in the chair and felt pressured and awkward, I let her proceed. She ended up taking barely half an inch off the front and an inch off the back. My ends are frayed and split, looking like she used dull scissors that damaged my hair. I waited a week hoping it would settle, but my ends look worse now than before I walked in.
