These are not your ordinary backyard hometown wieners. They're from a truck and they're f'in amazing. And they won the first ever OC Fair chowdown because I was the judge and I said so. And you want to know what else? They freakin' beat out Pinks! Pinks! The old Hollywood legend. This itty bitty truck from LA is not to be taken lightly. During the OC Fair, we tried their "The Bomb" hotdog which is named by their fans and rightfully so. The Bomb is a bacon wrapped dog with mustard, chili, cheese, grilled onions, and topped with a dill pickle spear. Ours also had some jalapenos. It had quite a kick. I'm not a big fan of onions but I didn't mind the onions on this hot dog. The flavor combination was delicious. Later that day, I found their truck again and ordered the bacon bleu iggs. These sliders are packed with angus beef on two hawaiian rolls with grilled onions, bacon, bleu cheese and their special sauce. I split these with a friend and wish I had gotten the double order. One slider just wasn't enough. Paired with a beer they were perfect. And yet later that day, we found ourselves there again with even more friends and split an order of buffalo bleus. These are spicy fries but get really soggy so eat them fast while they still have a crisp or else you'll get a spicy potato mush. Overall, I loved my foodie adventure at this truck. Will be back for more!

I've always complained about food trucks not being close enough to my neighborhood. I guess I can STFU now that the Greasy Wiener was literally parked across the street from my apartment today. I had already eaten a small breakfast bagel before finding out that they were literally right there and 5 minutes from opening, so I decided to forego the fries and just get a wiener. I had "The Greasy Wiener" which was $5 and came with grilled onions, mustard, and a pickle spear. There was one (free) add on of chili, cheese, or bacon and I chose the bacon. Other wieners were in the same price range and meals were about $10/$11. This particular wiener reminded me a lot of a street dog, except minus the smokey taste of bus exhaust fumes that those particular hot dogs seem to have. The bacon was crunchy, the wiener had a snap to it, the mustard was just the right amount (you can add more, and ketchup, to your stomachs delight!). The onions were juicy and not overly cooked. All in all, I enjoyed the wiener. Prices were average for a food truck and I even enjoyed the pickle spear (and I hate pickles; this plus my extra weight gain at the moment is kind of a troubling factor for myself). I'd def. visit again.

How else to follow up a review on chi chi-s but with a review about weenies! (i've been reading too many Cesar R reviews...) When 4 out of 5 of my fave Fab Five rated this wiener mobile a whopping 5 stars, i knew i had to try one when i ran into their bright yellow truck at Artwalk. Since i'm a spice wuss, i got a regular Greasy Wiener that comes with grilled onions, mustard and pickle and choice of free topping. no doubt i had to get bacon! sadly my pickle went down the downtown gutters... The hotdog was yummy, but i think i couldn't fully experience their awesomeness with my choice. i think that the dogs are probably much better eaten spicy. Or with chili and cheese on top with a side of Iggy sliders. Next time i hope to catch it before i have already filled my belly with other eats! For now, 4.5- until next time!

Rarely has the conscious decision to NOT put a big greasy wiener in my mouth led to anything but disappointment. Big, greasy wieners in my mouth usually make me quite happy..and make the wife quite upset. So for the sake of my family....I approached the greasy wiener and resisted temptation....no weiner in my mouth tonight good sir....I'll have some sliders thank you very much! Wait, those come with bacon right? BACON BLEU IGG SLIDERS ($6) 2 Angus Beef sliders served on two King's hawaiian rolls Topped with grilled onions, bleu cheese, bacon and a "special sauce" http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/74U5LUGwXz1VqkT9YtbJlQ?select=pDZ9yk1Wg3y-gmt_T-kUbg The flavor packed into these sliders is incredible! Succulent , warm angus beef, tangy bleu cheese, sharp, tasty onions, salty, crispy bacon all held together with a delicious, zesty sauce blend and finally sweet, fluffy buns all encompassing the deliciousness. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/74U5LUGwXz1VqkT9YtbJlQ?select=Yq5R7GFpXmiWs26t-FF5jg SO. DAMN. GOOD. Almost made me want to question the desire of having wieners in my mouth ever again.....ah! who am I kidding, next time they're in town, I'm a put 2 greasy wieners in my mouth.

So many things to try! This was one of five trucks at the Meals on Wheels, Long Beach Gourmet Food Truck night fund raiser in March. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kevin-b-s-gourmet-food-truck-pye-long-beach?select=PnXmfwSvtk0XT9v_uIcvhg#rKYzJure2RVzxfH0SbfE7A After checking out all the trucks, I decided get a couple of dogs from Greasy Weiner. I ordered the LA Street Dog: (bacon wrap, mayo, mustard, ketchup, grilled onion, fresh tomato. $6) and The Bomb: (Bacon wrap, mustard, grilled onions, chili, cheese, dill pickle spear. $7) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-greasy-wiener-los-angeles?select=DDMJUMEYuA9wg3wYROjXRQ#DDMJUMEYuA9wg3wYROjXRQ Pops ate the Street Dog, I had The Bomb. Man I have to tell you The Bomb WAS The Bomb! GREAT combo of flavors and the dog casing went "SNAP" every time I took a bite.... it was pure awesomeness in a bun! And THANK YOU Greasy Wiener for donating a portion of your proceeds from the day to Meals on Wheels, that's awesome!

"laughing uncontrollably" "still laughing uncontrollably" "Um...I'll have a hamburger...just kidding, just kidding" Once again this is the first impressions from my 10 year old daughter who is my sous chef, budding food truck groupie and future yelper of all things edible when asked by myself, twice, what she wanted from the Greasy Wiener truck followed by her reply to when the same question was asked by the amazing woman taking our order at the Valley Food Truck Festival. I know there are a lot of variations on their menu like chili, blue cheese but we both agreed that a simple dog with mustard and onions would be allowed for a fair comparison against other hot dogs. We allowed one addition each - I had mine bacon wrapped and she did the cheese. Hands down, the best hot dog that I have ever eaten. Perfect flavors, simple pickle spear, the right amount of mustard, the onions were grilled just the right amount of time all put on the freshest and softest of buns. The bacon only added to these flavors as did the cheese on my daughters. It was so good we went back for seconds to take home with us and when we approached the window we heard "this is the girl that I was telling you about" to discover that the amazing woman at the window was Iggy's mom. Iggy came out to talk with her about her love of hot dogs and how he appreciated that we ordered his namesake dog as it's simple and allows the flavors of the meat to stand on it's own. Next time, I'm adding chili and the sliders to my order but walked away fulfilled and wanting more! And yes, she is still laughing at the name.....

I couldn't wait to get that Greasy Wiener in my mouth! I'm not a big fan of condiments in general, but I really try to avoid them on my hot dogs. I'm not quite sure what it is -- I suppose I like to keep my wiener free from foreign debris. I made an exception for Greasy Wiener, though. When the caramelized onions, mustard and pickle come standard, it's tough to go against the better judgment of the chef. I'm glad I didn't! No one particular condiment overpowered the rest in my $6 combo, they were all in sync and played off each other really well. The fries didn't look like they were going to be anything special, mostly due to their paper container that reminded me of every greasy spoon I've ever been to. Surprisingly, the salty fries were a real treat. For a second I thought that they might combine with the bacon to produce an overly-salty experience, but that was never the case. That said, I still think there's some room for Greasy Wiener to become a bit more experimental with the preparation of their fries or perhaps the seasoning. Any guy will tell you that presentation is important for a wiener (from BBQ experience, of course). The Greasy Wiener delivers on that front as well. From the flat screen TV that hangs down, the speakers that blare out popular tunes, to even the pretty little lady that takes and delivers your order from outside the truck, this truck has it going on. Take a chance on The Greasy Wiener; it'll have you licking your lips and asking for more.

I had their chili fries at the Santa Anita Food Truck Festival a few weeks ago and even though it was good, I'm giving them a 1 star because the fat asian chick at the window was not appreciative. First, if you're running a food truck business, make sure you have enough change on hand. Second, when a customer wants to tip you (whether a dollar or more) always be gracious and don't say things like, "That won't make a difference anyways". I get it, you didn't want to give me five $1 bills cause you had no change, that's your fat fault. I work in the food and beverage industry and a tip is ALWAYS appreciated. BUT not this rude fatty. Maybe all the greasy food has gotten in way of her courteousness but what she said to me was not only rude but totally insensitive! I've always learned to be thankful and have common courtesy, this bitch didn't and she rubbed me the wrong way. I hope the truck gets into an accident and all the greasy weiners fall on her one day. Learn to be appreciative and learn to carry enough change!

DISAMBIGUATION---This review is about the Greasy Wiener, a gourmet food truck in Los Angeles, California. If you are looking for a review of D-List celebrity Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, please retype "Greasy Whiner". The dog was as good as it gets. Simple, basic, uncomplicated, and perfect. Hot Dog, pickles, onions and just a little mustard. Finally a chef who understands you don't have to drown the dog in it. Fresh Dog, fresh bun, and the perfect produce. So why is this only 3 stars and not 5? Well, some of you may think I am being a bit of an asshole here, but I am knocking them down because I don't believe I should have to inhale the smoke of their employees cigarettes while I am waiting for my order. Sure these guys work hard and deserve a break now and then; but please dude, take it down the block if you want to smoke. It really does detract from the whole experience. I think non-smokers out number smokers about 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 in So Cal, and have you ever met a non-smoker who liked second-hand smoke? Please don't chase us away. With a name like this how can you go wrong? The marketing sells itself. I'm inspired to start my own truck called "Flog My Meat" and serve pulled pork between buns. I tried to get GF and Ciara to put my greasy wiener in their mouths at the same time but the best I could do was to get them to both take a bite of it separately. Normally I would say the words "wiener" and "bite" shouldn't be in the same sentence, but in this case...it's fine. I'll keep working on them. Ah, you gotta love innuendo. Kidding aside, this was my favorite truck of the night. Perhaps I was a bit biased after the sheer disappointment of the Frysmith Truck. Greasy Wiener chaser Ciara had been after this truck for a while so we were gladly dragged up and down Abbott Kinney looking for it. Bacon Cheesy Chili Greasy Wiener ($5) - This was great. Perfectly cheesy and oniony lovingly wrapped in a bacon snuggie. The wiener had that snap when you bite into it. We added fries and a diet coke for an additional $2. Iggy ($5) - The Iggy is an all beef slider. I have been on a slider kick lately and these are some of the best I've had in So Cal. I recommend getting this one spicy. Gooey, cheesy, goodness. Bacon Cheesy Chili Wiener - 5 Stars Iggy - 5 Stars Fries - 4 Stars (Your basic thin cut fries, good but nothing groundbreaking) Service - 5 Stars (Super friendly and fast) Value - 4 Stars (Good but not great value for the price) Ambiance - N/A (Outdoors) Parking - N/A (Walk up only) TOTAL = 23 Stars Average = 23/5 = 4.6 Stars Rounded up to 5 Stars

Hands down the best hot dog I've had from a food truck. Better than an old fashion LA street dog? Depends on how late it is and how intoxicated you are. My main gripe with food trucks is the dollar to food ratio. I hate paying $7 for a crappy sandwich or $5 for a tiny slider or two. But Greasy Wiener delivered large quantities of really good food at a fair price. I was hesitant to shell out $5 for fries, but when I got the box I know it was worth it. A huge mass of curly fries, smothered in top notch nacho cheese and raw jalapenos, could have been a meal on its own. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/74U5LUGwXz1VqkT9YtbJlQ?select=FYiVDNqfsFbj-0OmUlZFNw Next up was the Berkowitz, a nebulous mass of just about every great topping you can have on a dog. Bacon, mustard, chili, cheese, kraut, grilled onions, and a pickle spear all worked together to shave a year off my life in a matter of minutes. I asked for it spicy and it was of okay spice. Next time I'll be asking for extra spicy. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/74U5LUGwXz1VqkT9YtbJlQ?select=zwyHXrtl309jAOvFeVoEKw I've been back once since my first visit and it was just as good. This is a dog I will crave.

@thegreasywiener @Roaminghunger_LA Food Trucker App http://www.roaminghunger/la Jersey is reprezentin here in a non-cheesy way! All joking aside this Dog Truck is truly amazing! The really nice people working gave me one of the best dogs I've ever had in my life. I experienced this most awesome L.A. Food Truck at the O.C. Fairgrounds which totally made the $7 price tag more justifiable since that is just a little putt! Even though their prices are pretty consistent with other Food Trucks it is their larger than normal portions that will make one feel better about checking this one out. Even though there were so many great choices between other trucks and their great sounding menu I finally decided to try their "How you doin?": http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-greasy-wiener-los-angeles?select=mR5xkK-tt6UsY7WGd6Qm-Q#fSE-8KaQ3CNc_DAqTdrXNw which is a most delicioius Bacon Wrapped Chicken Apple Sausage that is topped with tender Grilled Onions and some BBQ Sauce... what transpired was an uber-flavorful dog with assertive flavors that produced a nice snap in a fluffy grilled bun! Every ingredient complemented the other as if acquainted for years! GW is one of those trucks you definitely want to seek out and love if you experience! They accept either cash or card!

Wow. I inhaled that Berkowitz hot dog in under 5 minutes. That's including the time that I spilled my water from getting too excited, and the ensuing cleanup. It was so good that I was still taking bites out of the dog while mopping up the floor with cocktail napkins. This is in NO WAY a healthy meal, so no sissies need apply. Everyone else, DIG THE F&CK IN. Here's the skinny on the truck that causes the flab: - Flavorful wiener with great texture..inside is moist and juicy and the outer skin is tight and crispy at parts. - Chili and cheese is the gooey amorphous kind that sticks nicely to the hot dog without falling out all over the place in chunks. My coworkers probably couldn't tell if it was food I was eating or food I was yakking, but it tasted wonderful. - Kraut was DELICIOUSLY SOUR. Great complement to the overall savory of the hot dog. Can't read my, can't read my, no you can't read my pucker face. - I asked for spicy, and I LOVE that their take on it is to throw on some chopped fresh jalapeno. So many places will concoct a different chili or something to satisfy the spicy-loving customers but that just changes the flavor of the overall. Did I mention this is only $5.50? Worth every penny, I tell ya. GREAT job, Greasy. I'll be seeing you again, hopefully soon.

Misnomer. When I saw the name of this food truck, I thought this might be Central American's "soul"…read morefood, but it was actually US Southern soul food with a little Latin twist. The only Latin American ingredients were tortilla, store-bought chips and their mango salsa (which was good). I like the idea of putting southern food in tortilla for convenient, food-truck dining, but I would expect a bit more blending of the two cuisines with its name. Zora Neale's Special: perfectly seasoned and grilled tilapia with greens (kale) and Mac n' cheese for $12. They serve it in a hamburger styrofoam box, so it looks rather small, but they load it and are very generous with the portions! I couldn't finish it in one sitting. I must say the greens and Mac n' cheese were quite salty, though. 3 Taco Special: your choice of chicken, beef brisket, fish and/or oxtail(!), which comes with store-bought chips and their mango salsa for $12. Each taco is regularly priced at $4. They allow you to order different kinds of meat per order, which is nice, but they didn't have oxtail at this time. :( The beef brisket was good, but again, a tad on the salty side. For sides, I tried the plantain chips and sweet potato fries. The plantain chips were not chips at all, but fried plantains, which were delicious, but we expected chips. The sweet potato fries were crispy and seasoned just right. I also ordered what I thought was watermelon juice, but it was really sugary lemonade with a few pieces of watermelon in it. Again, not what I was expecting. :/ The staff working in the truck was really nice, though, and tried to get orders out quickly.

Absolutely delicious!!! Service was great. The staff recommended this dish, and it was prepared in…read moreless than 5 minutes. It may look small, but trust me, it's so filling!! It's called the Maya-a. The meat is a tangy sweet bbq sauce with delicious tender pulled pork on top of well done mac n cheese and jalapeno cornbread underneath. I'm still dreaming of the next time I can order this deliciousness!!
