I tried Pink's Hot Dogs for the first time (crazy that it took me so long because it's an absolute LA institution!). I appreciate that they've stuck with their old school vibe because it really makes the experience. They have so many hot dog options! And a pretty extensive menu overall with hamburgers, etc. I got the Pink's Famous Chili Dog and, honestly, I get why it's a classic. The chili was really delicious, not super oily. Finally tried Pink's Hot Dogs for the first time, and it was definitely better than I expected! I came around 9 pm on a Wednesday night, so there was basically no line, and I got my order very quickly. I got the Chili Stretch Dog and Chili Fries, and both were very good and decently priced by LA standards. It was also just very solid chili, hot dog, and fries, like it's good and feels worthwhile. I first heard of Pink's when it appeared in a 90210 episode, and I bookmarked it so that I can try one day. My boyfriend raved about this place so we went for lunch while we were vacationing in SoCal back in May. There was a long line, but it seemed to move pretty quickly. I looked at the menu and picked what I wanted. Then I went to go find a table while he waited in line. I found an open table immediately in front of a mural, and it was cute for photo-ops. I got the Philly Cheesesteak Dog and a Coke while my boyfriend got the Brando Dog and a YooHoo. Both were delicious! :) I saw an older lady who had a hot dog phone case, which I thought it was very cute. Then I realize that she's probably one of the owners of the place, which makes sense. Hahaha.. We found a parking spot on the street across from Pink's. Metered parking. They have a restroom there, and it seems clean. The husband got a 9" stretch w pastrami and a half and half w sweet potato fries and onion rings. The sausage was nice and spicy, & the raw onions were a nice touch. A surprisingly tasty dog. Chili fries were decent yet unremarkable. Onion rings were memorable, nicely fried. Of the pastrami, the husband enjoyed the sauerkraut and hint of mustard. Pretty damn good, tbh. My friends and I decided to stop by here since it was within walking distance. The prices were decent considering these are hot dogs. Service was good, I didn't have to wait too long. There is outdoor seating which is good; however, it looks like the bathrooms close late night as we couldnt get anyone to help us unlock the bathroom. Great hotdogs that it's not surprising how iconic Pink's is. And they're pretty large so you will get full from one, though I really could've gone for another! The inside is also pretty cool, scanning the wall for any celebrities and there are so many so it's a fun hunt while waiting for your food. ELSBETH'S ICONIC HOT DOG SPOT Hot diggity dog! Popped into L.A.'s famous Pink's Hot Dogs for a free Elsbeth, a 9" dog, with coleslaw, cheddar, mustard and ketchup, which usually retails for $7.25. Yep, it's FYC - For Your Consideration - time, so CBS is hyping this fun show for the Emmys. Since Elsbeth wears a lot of pink on the TV series, this is a cute fit. Coleslaw on a dog isn't my typical thing, but it wasn't bad. Finally discovered the free parking on the north side and enjoyed the lively patio in the back with a bunch of Japanese tourists. Upon arriving, there is a small private lot and street parking to choose from. The street parking is metered. I must have gone during an off time because there was no wait, even though it was a Sunday evening. I ordered the Spicy Chicago Polish dog, a chili cheese, dog, and chili cheese fries. I had a few bites of the chili cheese fries there and took the rest to go. I really enjoyed the chili cheese fries. Both hotdog dogs were okay. I've had better. The spicy Chicago Polish was not at all spicy. Sodas are bottled and not in a cup. Service was pretty quick. If you plan on eating there, most of the seating is outdoors but under umbrellas. Classic LA hot dog spot but the food is average!! I got the swiss and mushroom do (minus the bun due to a gluten allergy) but it was alright. Service was kind of slow as well. The Services, fast and courteous! The ambience is kitschy! The hotdogs is very savory and satisfying! You can get any drink you want with it, but I like a Diet Coke! Well known place for a dog in LA. Its good, their menu is very expansive with different hot dog combinations, burgers, and they have fries and onion rings. The hot dogs themselves are good! Not perfect, but good. The hot dogs meat is good, regular hot dogs, I prefer when theres a little burst to the meat, these dont really have that. The sauerkraut is fine, a little on the sweet side for sauerkraut. The chili is very good imo! Nice amount of onions. The service is rushed and hectic, verges on rude. We went right before a rush and even then it wasn't the best service. I get it though, Its a busy popular place. The inside is small but they have a nice outdoor patio, very retro vibes. Its cute. Pink's is always five stars in my book. I haven't eaten here that much, only on vacation. Somehow I missed this treasure when I lived here years ago. I decided I would order a Betty White hot dog, nothing on it. I did end up adding mustard and relish. The hot dog was delicious. The fries were given as a huge portion. Luckily, we only ordered one serving. I enjoyed the fries. They had just the right amount of crispiness. There are dozens of types of hot dogs here. This place is definitely a local favorite! It's very small inside, but they have a great outdoor patio area that makes it easy to sit back and enjoy your food. The surrounding area is super cute too, with lots of Instagram-worthy spots. The menu is surprisingly large. I originally thought they only served hot dogs, but they also have burgers and sides to choose from. The hot dogs were so good. I usually say you can't really mess up a hot dog... but I've definitely had some I didn't love before. This one was super tasty, not rubbery at all, and the bun was soft and fresh. You can tell there's quality there. They also sell really cute merch, though it is a bit pricey. I imagine that's part of being such a hotspot as lots of celebrities have stopped by over the years, and they even have hot dogs named after celebrities, which adds to the fun vibe. I have zero regrets visiting Pink's Hot Dogs after my appointment at WeHo DMV. As I set foot into the legendary Pink's, I immediately sensed it is an institution here in LA. I love the overall pink aesthetic with all the memorable photos with key celebrities such as Betty White, Michael Jackson, Jimmy Kimmel, and even kpop stars such as BabyMonster and Yook Sung Jae of BtoB. Props to Suho of EXO for mentioning Pink's at their concert in LA in 2016. I ordered their Turkey Burger (without tomato), Turkey Dog with relish and fries. The lady who took my order immediately memorized it and it came as is once I was ready to pay. The wait was less than 7 minutes and the price was not bad for under $21 for all three items. I am glad I arrived here before the lunch rush as there was plenty of seating at their outdoor patio. The turkey dog did not taste overly processed and it tasted perfectly juicy with their relish. The fries were crispy and not greasy at all! The turkey burger was juicy, tasty and almost identical to a charbroiled beef burger. OVERALL: I feel the only thing that keeps this place going is the celebrities and the numerous options especially of those selected by the famous folks. Service staff seemed jaded in the sense they knew every one there were tourists. The atmosphere was eclectic and it's a really cool place to be and see photos of famous people who have frequented here. However, the food just didn't taste that great. I love Pink's hot dogs. The workers are friendly and attentive. The food is great!! I never leave on an empty stomach even when i just have qty 1 of any variety of hot dog. These things are massive and flavorful. You get everything from carmalized onions, pastrami, bacon to jalapeños and nacho cheese. I usually get the Ozzy dog but just about any of the choices are on par. I always get a black cherry or cream soda bottle drink. The lemonade can be a bit sweet, be sure to split it with someone and get the free tea and make yourself an arnold palmer. We've been going for years and have gotten our so e hooked on the LA dogs (his favorite after concert bite) and Pinks has the some of the best! Lines are usually long but they move really quickly. Was taking out of town guests around again and my niece loves food. So I had to take her to the iconic Pink's right? It's been so long since our last visit that I didn't want to get creative -- I ordered my go-to CHILI CHEESE FRIES and it was just as good as I remembered it. This is the first time I've been here post Covid and have to say that I'm a little sad how this place has fallen. I came here around 12pm on a Tuesday and there was absolutely no one in line. I was overjoyed as you'll never ever see no one in line. The ordering process seems to have changed since the last time I've been here, which was probably 7-10 years ago. I noticed that they now have these plastic windows where you can't really place your order while in line like before. Either that or I was just unlucky. I had to walk inside and someone asked me what I wanted to order. Before, you would order while in line and by the time you get inside, your food was ready. I think I waited over 5 minutes after I placed my order and with no one in line, it shouldn't have taken that long. I ordered the Chicago and Pink's Chili dog. Total came out to about $21. Man, prices have really gone up a lot since the last time I've been here. They have removed all tables/chairs inside. It's now a waiting area. Which is fine, but what happens when it rains or super windy outside. Just thinking out loud. I don't know, but to me, the Chicago dog is not what I remembered it to be before. It doesn't have that same snap as before, but the I don't remember lettuce being on there. I could be off since it's been so long, but having lettuce on the dog kind of ruined it. I was expecting a typical Chicago style hot dog with more relish, pickle spear, sport peppers and celery salt. But it just came on a regular bun with with a small amount of relish, diced tomatoes and a lot of lettuce. The chili dog was what I remember it being, but I might be imagining things, the dog just felt off. I've passed by this place a couple of times when out and about in Hollywood. The last time I was here was this past Sunday and saw the line wasn't too long. So i decided to try it! Parking is one of it's biggest challenges. I always recommend keeping quarters in your car no matter what for the parking meters. There are 2 parking meters in the very front of the stand. And then a small parking lot. Be prepared in case you cannot find parking. You may have to park somewhere else and walk. If I had to estimate, I waited 30-40 minutes in line. The good thing is there are paper menus outside to look over while you wait. As well as many signs on the window to read and look at it. Once you get inside, the place is very small. You place your order at the register and wait until your name is called. They have a lot of photos with celebrities hanging around inside the stand, so again you have something to look at it while you wait. Tables are located in the back. We waited about 10 minutes and our food was done. I got the La La Land dog and my husband got the naked dog. Both were delicious! Next time we wanna try more items! The staff was friendly to us. However the kitchen is extremely small with little to no open space, and the staff are under a lot of pressure. So if they aren't extremely friendly, that could be a reason why. It's worth checking out. Just be prepared to wait in line for a while and parking won't always be available. I would come back! read more
