The GE in Canton has an amazing selection. Recently my husband and I stopped there after having difficulty finding what we were looking for around at another store. We were blown away by the selection. A professional expert (Nate, was his name) assisted us. He was extremely helpful without being overbearing. We were spending a good deal of time and money at the store, so having a professional expert walk us through the intricacies was so helpful. Thanks again Nate! We will be back! read more

We get a referral from the great escape for a company to close our pool This company is Just In Time Pools Just in time comes out to close the pool and pumps the water out of our partially in ground above ground pool I come back at lunch and the pool is drained below the ground line I turn off pump and call just in time to relay a message to them that they can not drain any further due to the ground I leave and Just in time comes back finishes pumping the remaining water out of the pool and closes the pool and puts in the garden hose It rains downpours I hear popping in the house go outside and see that the pool sides are buckling my son in law and I start digging around pool in an attempt to save it Half of the pool panels buckle we call Just in time and they send a guy out to fix The gentleman states that he can not fix it he needs a machine After repeating calling JIT and the great escape , who claim they are not responsible for the people they refer, they come back out this time only send one guy with a shovel and he says there is not way he can fix it We call JIT and TGE dozens of times and ask for the insurance company so we can file a complaint after months of these calls we get an adjuster from Just in Time to come out The adjuster uses The Great Escape to quote the removal and replacement of the pool after a few months they make an offer of 60% of the replacement cost quoted by The Great Escape we settle after calling the great escape to verify that they can replace the pool for the costs they quoted We sign a contract with the great escape to replace the pool and upgrade some items add a furnace filter etc. The great escape hires a contractor to replace our pool and they schedule it on April 28, 2022 They show up and remove the old pool and say the bound need to dry out and recommend that a retaining wall and concrete ring be install or the pool could collapse I agree they say it will be $2,500 They send a couple of guys to the house with a machine that can not do the job and they need to get another machine they come out on a Sunday when I am out of town and totally ruin the yard and pile debris on the lawn they say they will be back to finish and set forms on Monday they pick up their machine on Monday and do not return We are left with a pond in our yard and a pile of mixed debris I hire a company to removed the debris that has sat there for six weeks I call the Great and the contractors and no one accepts any responsibility and I keep calling until finally they come back and set the pool they then arrange for the concrete guy to pour the retaining wall he starts and they disappears comes back and pours the walls I purchase all the materials including rebar he forgets to put the rebar in the wall He comes back and puts in the drain tile that was suppose to be part of the contract with the great escape but I am billed separate They order the wrong stone for the drain tile and need to hire another contractor to redo it and backfill the pool And hear we are the costs are below Agreed to price to replace the pool from The Great Escape $17,329.00 Pool cap is still incorrect, base of pool has rocks protruding through liner bolts are protruding through liner no return calls or responses to emails or texts. We purchased our pool about five or six years ago and have nothing but good things to say about Great Escapes in Canton, Ohio, and the staff. we live an hour away and don't mind the drive up there at all... BUT what one particular staff member did for us a couple weeks ago goes way above and beyond 'the call of duty'!!' we have a family member who has a pool... they have a different filtering system than what we have.. unfortunately, due to illness, they were struggling to get the pool up and running. We volunteered to do it..,watched some YouTube videos and thought we had it pretty much figured out.... But, we kept coming up with a hose end with no where for it to go! lol. Finally we thought we had figured it out but wasn't sure. I called Tony and explaiNed to him what was going on... he had me send pictures of the set up and confirmed we had everything right! such a great guy! He knew it wasn't his pool, and not his problem, but it didn't matter to him! Thank you so much, Tony!!!! read more

Purchased my 2nd pool from Great Escapes Pool and Spa in Macedonia Ohio and regret it every day. The installation was so fast no one had time to talk you through anything, any packing that would have helped in the future was thrown out. They tell you to use their app, crap is what that app is. Found so much more on YouTube. Employees from sales to service are rude and offer very little assistance. If you are looking for a pool to to Lite House as I bought my first one there and they walked you through everything. Should have overlooked their sale and went back to Lite House Pools. read more

I called them to come to my house and get an estimate...I was told someone would contact me the next day...and of course no one did. So I called them again the next day...still no response. So I decided to call the store manager to see if he could help. He did gave me the same sales rep that I had spoke to. He promised me he would come out on Monday for and estimate and NEVER showed uggg. My time is just as valuable as there's! I would not recommend them, to anyone!! read more

Walked in with my family and no one talked to us for a good 20 minutes even though we were clearly visible and all the employees were standing at the cash register doing nothing! Had to ask for help and then they debated who would come help us! A white couple then walks in and everyone flocks to them to give them service. Immediately turned us off from buying anything from them which is a shame for them because we had plenty of money to spend! Would give 0 stars if I could! read more

A relative purchased a partially inground pool at what sounded like a good price, but when it was over, he was left with a yard full of the dirt that they extracted, leaving him to backfill, and even worse, remove all of the excavated dirt. My impression is that these people are sleazy. They should have at least advised what was included and what was not. read more

My husband and I came into the store to purchase a patio umbrella. After being ignored for 15 minutes, we asked about a particular umbrella. The sales girl had to get the manager to check inventory. Well, this prince of a guy left us standing in the showroom for over 10 minutes. We think he's getting the umbrella. We then notice him helping someone else and ask if he has the umbrella. He looks at us and just shakes his head "No". No apology, nothing! Just plain rude! read more

My mom and I walked in and bought an a frame ladder for our pool. Well it can with half the parts missing and bolts,screws,and washers out of the bag and all over the box, so my mom called and explained what happened and the gentleman on the phone said that they would assemble one deliver it and take the old one back. Well it's today around 4:30 and they still have not called and I just called and they knew nothing about it..... that shows how much they care about customer service........... read more

We purchased a pool from Great Escape and found the experience less than impressive. We found out after the fact that the stipulations of the contract they offered us put us at odds with local ordinance. According to local regulations in Concord and Painesville Township, the installer is required to contact local municipalities to verify the plan and placement of the pool with regard to location of neighboring property borders, power lines, etc... The contract we signed indicated it was our responsibility to contact local utilities, but when we called them we were informed the contractor had to call. The contractor refused to do so. This became an issue of dispute, until a secretary at the main office (not the installment contractor) called on our behalf. What was particularly awkward was the fact that Great Escape wrote the contract up in such a way as to make this part of the process our responsibility, all the while knowing it was in violation of local regulations (I'm sure ours is not the first pool they delivered to Painesville). Then, there was the installation. I will admit the crew put the pool together in short time and efficiently. However, the support structures are not centered on their concrete blocks, and the crew did not follow instructions to leave space around the base supports for electrical bonding to ground the pool. Additionally, they left a heap of dirt, roots, and debris in the yard next to our neighbors property (instead doing as we had asked and using their mini-bulldozer to push it to the back of the property on the edge of the woods, which was all of 25 feet away), and they left all the packaging trash as well as their cigarette butts and beverage cans in a heap next to our patio. When I asked if they were going to clean up the mess, the foreman just said, "No, I've got plenty of boxes and crap in my own yard." In the end, they left with the pool assembled, but the entire area around it looked like a disaster zone. We chose a Great Escape pool because the price was comparably better, but we found out the price is the only thing good about what they offer for a product you can get elsewhere. If you choose Great Escape, read your contract carefully before you sign, ask lots of pointed questions up-front about what exactly your role as customer is in the process, especially with regard to installation, and make sure to have a clean up crew and landscaping company scheduled for a visit the next day to restore your damaged property, or be ready to do it yourself. I suppose the restorative landscaping negates any money you might save with their low prices though. In short, sometimes you get what you pay for, and if you don't pay much, don't expect much. read more
