I've been coming to The Greatest for years and it never disappoints. This spot really feels like a second home more than just a bar. Every bartender I've come across has been friendly, attentive, and actually makes the experience fun, not just serving drinks but creating a vibe. The atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. It's not just a crowd, it's a family. You walk in and feel it immediately. They recently turned into a Dodgers bar and I love that even more. It just adds to the energy, especially on game days. Parking is a little tight, not gonna lie, but somehow you'll always find a spot so it's never really an issue. It's a dive bar so nothing to really expect . You can't get good till after 6 that's when the cook came but the food was decent and the price was right. There was one lady serving drinks n taking ordered and it was a Friday night so it was busy but she held her own and the drinks were strong and good. Would I return sure why not ! read more

been here three times and the first time there was a fruit fly in my ice. Not in my drink but frozen in the ice! second and this third time the fruit flies were flying around me while made me curious as to where they were coming from. Every time, I struggle to be able to hear my songs on the jukebox. I can put my song in and not hear it the entire night so don't be surprised if you don't hear your selection. It's mainly hispanic music that is favored so if you are looking to hear something else, don't hold your breath. Perfect spot for contractors or guys on the road. One of the cheapest places for drinks. Kitchen closed on Mondays and Tuesday and Wednesday are my top days to eat there. Service is quick and efficient taco Tuesday and wing Wednesday are a must. Place is always full with locals and very nice. Will definitely be back here again. read more

This is at a great location, the best part about this place were the patrons,, this place has the potential to make good money, and bring great clientele. Good place to play pool and to learn. Night bartender has been bartending too long does not care. Probably hurting the business, would not give me her real name, just blamed her coworker. Nothing on tap,, but every avid Guinness drinker knows it comes from tap and if it does not,, you drink out of a glass not the can. Again the pool players there were awesome, very respectfull. I'm a brown Latino with green eyes so as soon as I came out of the bathroom from just getting off work I was immediately refused service. One of the dirtiest little dive bars in LA. Where the drinks are cheap but well served and the juke box has a great selection. You can smoke in-doors which is an automatic plus. This is a proper dive bar. The drinks are poured with a heavy hand and cheap. People are generally pretty cool here, I met some folks randomly and we ended up playing some dice for shots. The bartender (pictured) is friggin hilarious! And yes, you can straight-up just smoke away in this bar. So don't come if you're not ok with that, because people come here to smoke like the good ol' days, so we don't need people making faces and acting all offended by the smoke. I give this place four stars because there are at times locals who get a bit territorial and unfriendly here. But for the most part this is not an issue. read more

I don't know about this place, I hear good things but every time I been here it wasn't so great. Bartenders kick you out right at 2am and start last calls 1am it seems. There is only one pool table and usually one good player up against the bar drunks. It's good for chatting and drinking. Gets crowded too and people seem happy and having great time. I used to go here a lot in the late '80s--early '90s when I lived out there, and it sounds like it hasn't changed at all. That's a good thing. I remember it as a true working class dive bar with some pretty cool people hanging out as regulars. Great place to start out the evening or end it. Always weirded me out that there would be people waiting to get in at 6 a.m., and always some people in there drinking at any hour of the day. Haven't been there in 30 years but would go back in a heartbeat if I'm ever back in the South Bay. read more
