We tried the DineLA restaurant week menu for Tiki Kai and it was very good! Timing of the food coming out could've been better. We waited a very long time for the salad then just as we were finishing the salad the appetizer came out. And unfortunately if you opted for the DineLA everyone at the table has to do it too. Strange since you'd think if two of four people wanted DineLA and the other two wanted a higher priced entree from the standard menu would be more beneficial for the restaurant and server for a higher check but I guess not. Also note that Iced tea refills are not free. Ambiance is amazing of course. Will return again since it's in a nice beach area and next to the pier for a nice walk afterwards.

Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: 2/5 Came by on a Sunday evening with a reservation. Alyssa was our primary server, and she was AMAZING! The whole team was honestly fantastic! Great food and drinks with a very contemporary tiki theme. Only downside was the space was pretty warm, and parking (which they obviously aren't in control of) was rough! Will gladly return down the road!

This was my third visit since November, with each one being progressively better. If you tried it early on, it is worth revisiting. The drinks were very well balanced this time, which was previously my main gripe. Drinks - Navy Grog 5/5: They have it down now; the blend really tickles the pallet, with a splash of tart citrus at the end. The honey adds bodyband a note of sweetness, without making it a sugar bomb. - Mai Tai 4.5/5: More mint than I am used to, but in a pleasant way, with a sweet citrus body and almost herbal finish. *Their Monkey Pod Mai Tai looked spot on, but I was told the orgeat was almond instead of macadamia Food - Jidori Fried Chicken Sandwich 3.5/5: The texture was great: juicy yet crispy, but the slaw sort of overpowered the other flavors, and the mango (I think) was not ripe. I thought that it was just renamed, but I did notice any of the buttermilk flavor from last time - Oahu Burger 3/5: The patty was thick and I enjoyed the grilled pineapple, but a little bit of the fermented gpchu aioli can go a looong way. I will likely venture to the Ocean side of the menu next time. We sat out front, at the kidney shaped table. As expected, conversations were not private and service was a bit slower. However, the weather was great and the faux plants grew on us throughout the evening. Special thanks to Michael F., who took care of our area towards the end. He checked in and filled our waters more in the last 15 minutes theb we experienced during the first hour.

The drinks are amazing! You can't go wrong with any of them.

What a fun place to eat at! We made a day of it with some friends and device all the way from OC! The food was amazing! We even ordered their garlic noodles to go and recommended them to people sitting by us. You can't beat this ambiance, it is gorgeous inside and out, but especially the inside case it gets dark with their lit floors.

Wonderful menu for Dine LA! We went for lunch and it comes with a salad, appetizer, entree, and dessert all for $35 a person. We added a mini Ube cocktail for an extra $5. I've been during a dinner rush at a table, and now during the day at the bar top and the service is still excellent! Our bartender Will recommended the perfect order for our afternoon. The Sticky Ribs are my fav, I've ordered them every visit. Cocktails are strong and make you feel like you have escaped LA to a tropical retreat. The inside decor is very moody but calming. The patio looks cute, I will have to sit outside next time!

Was out in Hermosa meeting people for brunch, and Tiki Kai was literally across the street, so I made a quick reservation and we headed over after brunch to indulge in some tiki culture and libations. First, there is indoor and outdoor seating, so where you sit is up to you. But unsure is where all the decor and gives are, so I'd say drink indoors and enjoy the whole ambiance. If you choose to sit at the bar, some of the drinks come with a show, like a fire show, so if you're into that, or want fun videos to put on IG or Tik Tok, the bar may be the way to go. The drinks were, as tiki drinks tend to be, delicious. Great mixture of spirits with tropical juices, with other ingredients. They also just added the Monkey Pod Mai Tai, which the Money Pod is a restaurant bar in Maui known for their Mai Tai, which is topped with a lilikoi (passion fruit) foam. The PK HB is their version of a Painkiller, also very good. And the Ube Your Thirst, which I'm not really an Uber person, was very good, much better then I thought it would be. We also tried other cocktails, ask tasty and we'll balanced. Overall, if you're into tiki drinks, or just a fan of quality cocktails, and around Hermosa Beach, definitely stop by and grab a drink

I had the benefit of being invited back by Chris from Tiki Kai after my previous review of the restaurant to give them a second chance. And I will say that I was blown away by the service and the quality of the food. I understand that there are always growing pain when opening up a new restaurant and while I don't excuse my prior experience I have to admit the new operation is running as smooth as can be. I will very happily be a repeat customer moving forward!

Ambiance - ok so have to say this is one of the coolest looking spot on the pier . The theme is amazing and they didn't skimp on the decor the whole tiki bar/lounge feel was spot on . Food- I actually didn't expect allot and thought it was more of a gimmick but boy was I surprised the food was amazing . The pupu platter we picked wings, crab raggon and shrimp . We also had French toast and garlic noodles which were probably some of the tastiest ever . Drinks - the drinks were really good . For drinks with cinnamon ask for no cinnamon or easy since they kind of go heavy on that . But other than that the drinks didn't disappoint . Over all the total experience was amazing

    Enjoy a drink!

If you want an experience, come here! I thoroughly enjoyed coming here. It was for a girlfriend's birthday and we loved the ambiance. The menu was delectable with a lot of different options. We started with pupus with the crispy rice with a slight spice taste, hamachi crudo, chicken karage, and firecracker shrimp. Then we had the garlic noodles with chicken, fried rice with shrimp and miso black cod. The drinks were super fun. I got the Hawaiian coffee and it was strong and nice with a bit of a kick. The food was good, drinks were fun, and ambiance is great! Christian and Rafa were really accommodating and helpful! Who doesn't love sitting outside with great service? Remember life is short, so make the most of every moment!!!

Huge tiki fan here and I've had Tiki Kai on my list for a bit. This is the prettiest, newest looking tiki bar I've ever been to. The attention to detail is beyond comparable - from the fixtures hanging above the bar, to the little details decorating the dining area and the lights behind the bar. Everything is so well thought out and fully instagrammable. The place is huge too with plenty of seating outside and in but you must at least sit inside once to appreciate all the effort put into the decor. We ordered a tiki drink, beer and the Crab Rangoon appetizer and the service was quick and friendly. The tiki drink, the Jet Pilot, was a rum drink that came out on fire. So fun! And the crab rangoons came out swimming in a sweet chili sauce that was perfect. We will come back for dinner next time. Parking is tough because you are at the pier but there is a free garage right behind the restaurant that you might get lucky enough to find a spot in. Otherwise, it's streets parking sweetie, but worth it in this case.

I loved this place! Tried it for the first time with a large group and had almost the whole menu (so this is a real review lol). We were a big group so I know it's tough, but we had two servers for our table and they were on it! The espresso cocktail was the drink of the night, would go back just for that! Food was soo delicious, with the garlic noodles being my favorite. Presentation was so on point with the tiki vibe, all food and drinks looked absolutely stunning. Great spot to walk around after too since it's right on the beach. I am definitely coming back here it was delicious, great service, and pretty spot!

Tiki Kai gave me major Hawaii vibes! The food was delicious, the drinks were good, and the atmosphere was so fun and tropical also service was friendly. A little pricey, but definitely a nice spot for a good time and island vibes! We will be back: )

It's literally walking distance from our hotel in Torrance -- so close we actually walked past it the first time without even realizing it was there. Super hidden, easy to miss. The space itself is small, and when you first walk in it doesn't hit you with an over-the-top tiki vibe right away. But once the drinks start coming out, it fully delivers. The glassware is so fun and themed -- I was obsessed with the flamingo cup and actually ended up buying a couple online since I couldn't take the real one home with me. Drink-wise, I stuck mostly to my usual zombie, which has this great earthy, cinnamon-y flavor that's just different from anything else -- does the trick every time (there's a two-drink max/minimum on it, which I respect). We also tried a Makahiki Mua and a Painkiller, both really solid. The Makahiki Mua had a fun flavor, kind of similar to a Painkiller, but the zombie is still my go-to. Service was pretty good overall -- the bartender stayed mostly in one corner of the bar, which actually worked in our favor since we got served fast. A couple of small quirks though: they only have a limited number of menus, so we kept having to pass one back and forth around the bar, which felt a little silly. They also seemed to be running low on drink cups at times, having to wash and rotate them back into use, which was an odd thing to notice at a bar this size. Also wish they had some food or snacks available, even something small -- but that's a minor gripe. Vibe-wise, this is easily one of my favorite tiki lounges I've been to -- doesn't quite topple Broken Compass Tiki for me, but it's up there. Fun, easy, great drinks, solid service despite the small hiccups, and a perfect spot if you're staying in the Torrance area. Would absolutely go back and would recommend it to anyone chasing that tiki lounge crawl.

This is a great spin on a jungle bird, with some complexity and coffee flavor. I'm usually not a big fan of coffee, but it is at a good level. Chi Chi (Whey vodka, pineapple, lime, date, honey, coconut, salt). This has a great creamy texture which I believe comes from the dairy component of the whey vodka. It is well balanced with some sweetness, and I could taste the coconut and date flavors. Lapu Lapu (Asian rum, Jamaican rum, dry curacao, lime, orgeat, demerara). It is juicy, well balanced, and served with a flaming sugar cube on top. This is the cocktail they chose to serve at their booth at Tiki Oasis recently which says a lot, try it! Thai Me Down (Barbados rum, coconut liqueur, papaya, lemon, demerara, Thai basil). It is served old-fashioned style, and was light and perfectly balanced. Those Thai inspired flavors were all noticeable. Demerara Dry Float. They added and took this one off the menu as of now. It was a balanced light citrusy drink which was served with a delicious sidecar of Hamilton 151 rum infused with banana chips. I sipped half of that and mixed the rest into the cocktail. It was served with a beautiful ice shell. I'm guessing it was too labor intensive, and took up a lot of space in their freezers. Recently added food: Ahi Poke Nachos (marinated ahi tuna, masago, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, furikake, green onion). This is such a tasty starter with so many textures and flavors. I love that the nachos are wontons too, and not just chips. Crab & Cream cheese wontons. Nice crisp wontons with a good amount of crab and cream cheese inside. The chili sauce and spicy mayo adds another layer of flavor, and there is a slice of jalapeno on top for a little heat. Pan-Seared Scallops. This was an excellent lighter entrée. The four scallops are cooked perfectly, and even have a little dollop of caviar on top. I liked the mix of veggies and really liked the bed of potato puree underneath. Steak & Eggs (8oz hanger steak, crying tiger glaze, Nam Jim Jaew sauce, sunny eggs, rice). I normally wouldn't try steak & eggs for dinner, but I can't resist a good hanger steak. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and I appreciate that it was pre-sliced. The crying tiger glaze and sauce were so flavorful. There's plenty of rice to soak up any left egg yolk or sauce. Recently added desserts: Dubai Chocolate Lava Cake. This was excellent, but it's definitely sweet and rich. Save some room if you plan on ordering this. Ube Flan Cake. I'm usually not a fan of flan, but I have to try anything with ube and this was good. The cake had nice ube flavor, and I liked that the flan was a little firm since the looser custardy/gelatinous texture is not for me. This is definitely a lighter dessert than the lava cake. It's not a new drink, but I also had the Naval Grog for the first time. (Lost Voyage rum, overproof white rum, allspice dram, lime, grapefruit, demerara, honey). It is boozy with nice spice notes. Other repeat cocktails enjoyed were Tales from the Black Lagoon (my favorite), Missionary's Downfall, Agave Parrot, Singapore Sling, and Serpents Grasp all of which are excellent. Their cocktails, food, ambiance, and service are always top notch. Thank you Ying, Erica, Greg, Jordan, Joey, Iris, Karen, Kyle, Joy, and John for your wonderful hospitality during our visits. We will return again soon!

Do you guys remember the infamous rainforest cafe that used to be at Disneyland? Well this place…read moregave those vibes and I really miss rain forest! This was such a gem of the place. The inside was decorated all throughout and made you feel like you were truly in a different place. It's dim, intimate and gave such a cool atmosphere! I heard this place is hard to get a reservation but one of my girlfriends was able to snag one the week prior! The inside of the restaurant is a smaller establishment so I can see why reservations would be difficult. They have a plethora of drinks! Mostly specializing in specialty rum cocktails. Ordered the ritual of the Queen which was a specialty drink with tequila and coconut rum. Very delicious! For food our table shared the Loco Moco and chicken katsu. Both delicious! There is also another smaller bar area behind closed doors that give speak easy vibes. I'm not sure how or if this place accommodates big groups as the tables are good for maybe 4-6 people. I'd definitely come back her
