This place was such a lucky find. I'd been driving down the highway looking for lunch but nothing looked good. I settled on a random fast food place I didn't really want. Then as I was about to turn into said mediocre restaurant I saw the sign for the Greek grill. I immediately knew this was where I was meant to go. I got their pork souvlaki pita and it was great. Stopped by for lunch at this small eatery a few times now, usually in the late afternoon. A traditional Greek menu restaurant, blue and white interior, with paper towel rolls on the tables. Walk up counter service with menu boards above, the service is always friendly and kind. Place your order, pay and grab a seat, they will bring your food to you when its ready. We have tried several items off the menu and each has been good in its own right. Always freshly made and good flavor. The hummus and pita is simple and very tasty. The falafel wrap, simple traditional and freshly made is a hearty meal with great flavors and ingredients. The Spanakopita is also very traditionally prepared, simple and so tasty with yogurt dip on the side another good choice. In a return visit I wanted to try the Gyro and did order that. This was at best only a decent version of this classic Greek hand held. The meat is cut in thin, rectangular slices, indicating it is minced and molded into a rectangular shaped loaf and then cooked - it is definitely not shaved from a spit to order! This is much like that served at Mad Greek Grill in Kernersville and High Point. The pita was well filled, the vegetables were fresh, but the Gyro is about the meat and in several ways, the meat here simply didn't cut it. The chicken gyro was ok! The food is very over priced for what you get. The chicken was a little dry, I eat Mediterranean food quite often. And I was so shocked, I've never seen where a side or even 2 comes with your entree, especially for the prices they have. It cost $3.99 to add a side or salad. After I already paid $10 just for a small gyro at lunch time!!!!! The gyro also could have used more tzatziki sauce . The buffalo chicken wrap I wouldn't recommend. They left off the buffalo sauce, the main ingredient and when I asked the lady could we just have it on the side she said it would be extra. What?!!! Love trying the different greek places around town and while this isn't my favorite, the tzatziki was SO good and the rest of the food was pretty good. We got an appetizer of tzatziki and falafel which my daughter loved and i wasn't expecting for it to come with pita so that was a pleasant surprise . My husband and I each got a platter. I got the chicken souvlaki and he got the pork. The amount of food you get is a good amount: protein, pita, salad, tzatziki and a side. 24 Feb 2020; first visit to this restaurant. I have driven by many times and never thought twice about stopping by. But today I had the exploring bug so I figured why not. I have visited a similar place in Rochester Minnesota. It's an older place but clean and orderly and appears to have that hometown flavor. It does not have table service so you need to order at the counter. The staff are professional and knowledgeable about their foods. Love the Greek Salad with Chicken Souvlaki. I usually order the smaller size and it is plenty for a meal. They give you a very generous portion of chicken! Love their Greek Dressing. You order your food at the counter & then get your own drink and find a table. Wish they would go back to real silverware but so many small restaurants went to disposal during covid and never went back. Dinning area is not that large. Tables are cleaned off between customers. Music is good (I like the 70's classics). Really my only complaint is door handle on restroom. It needs to be replaced. It is very hard to lock ! Just get a new one for $20 at Lowes and make it easier. No one likes to feel like the door could fly open at any momement! read more

The Greek Grill provides you with a pretty baseline Greek experience. The menu is extremely similar to other Greek places in the area, particularly Mad Greek in High Point which even shares that Zeusy logo on the front. I asked if the two restaurants were related some way, and the guy at the counter didn't know so I just moved on with ordering my lunch. I got a Greek salad with chicken souvlaki added. It was really overpriced at 13 bucks in my opinion, especially considering there was a rotisserie chicken salad option with similar topping for 9 bucks. I didn't see that until after I had already ordered. Oh well. Typically the souvlaki is better anyway. In this case... it didn't have a whole lot of flavor. Overall the salad was pretty meh, and not as good as other places in the immediate area. It could have used a lot more feta cheese to help zip up the flavor, I actually added salt and pepper trying to give it a punch to a little effect. Even swimming it in the Greek dressing on the table wasn't doing much. Ultimately, I don't think I'll be back, but maybe some of their other entrees are better choices. read more

I was very disappointed in my mail The pork had like a lemony or vinegary flavor that I actually did like but the problem was it was very dry and it was a real chore to try to chew through it and eat it because of how dry it was. Which usually means it was overcooked. One of my sides was the Greek green beans I was very disappointed in those also because they were canned green beans not made from fresh so basically they were just slightly docked up canned green beans. The meal was $17 and was a disappointment. If I go back I'll definitely try something else to see if they have other stuff that's good but this one dish was just disappointing read more

Instead, it lingers right around the middle of what you'll find in the "Greek-ish" restaurants of this area (said with quotes because Greek offerings in Winston-Salem do not compare with the Greek food I've had in many other parts of the US). First to review baby! I have no idea why this place was not in Yelp yet. I went to check in and Yelp had no clue about this place. When I first moved to the Winston-Salem area I expected to find a lot of German restaurants. Well, German restaurants are few and far between, but this place has a lot of very good Greek restaurants and I'm adding The Greek Grill to the list. The Greek Grill is not a sit down and get waited on place. More like a fast food Greek restaurant. You come in, place your order up front and they bring your food to the table. Refills are free. The menu is overwhelmingly Greek but there are other items including burgers. Of course I'm not there for the burgers. I tried the chicken souvlaki, lamb gyro, and greek salad. All very good. If you are looking for a down to earth, quick place to grab a some Greek food then I would recommend. They do not serve alcohol so keep that in mind. read more

Came here on a whim actually thinking it was another restaurant someone had suggested to me. After a quick yelp preview in the parking lot we decided to stay. We should have left. The two girls behind the counter had to be stoned. There's no other reason for them to be so zoned out and confused when I asked simple questions. Ordered a Greek salad with chicken. Salad came out with no dressing. There was a large bottle of dressing on the table but it tasted like raspberry vinaigrette and I really wanted Greek. After looking on the menu again to see what dressing they have I saw house and Greek, I went up to one of the girls after them not seeing me or hearing me one of the five times I tried to get their attention, and asked what the dressing was on the table. 'It's the house dressing.' 'Ok can I get Greek dressing then' 'oh it is Greek dressing.' 'Ok, the menu states they are two different ones so I was trying to get dressing for my salad.' 'Oh, um, yea just use the one on the table.' And she goes back to filling up ketchup. So I ate my salad with no dressing. Also got hummus and asked for veggies instead of pita since my guest has celiacs. We got 2 slices of cucumber, handful of celery and some lettuce. I asked for more and the girl looked at me like I asked for it in German. Had to ask again because she ignored the first request. When I asked again and explained why we needed veggies she said 'ok but they are going to charge you.' Ok, understand, but we asked for no pita and only veggies for a very small serving of hummus that was $5. It shouldn't be this hard to substitute one for the other. Everything is so good! Anytime I'm craving Greek food this is the only place I go. Never have been disappointed

An "okay" place that could be pretty good with just a few changes. I would say this place is more "Greek-ish" than Greek. There are some basic Greek dishes (souvlaki, gyro, spanakopita, falafel, hummus, et al), but no avgolemono, saganaki, paidakia, and so on. Like a lot of "Greek-ish" places, there were plenty of non-Greek menu selections like cheesesteaks, other subs, spaghetti and so on. The Greek salad was decidedly mediocre - very much lacking in flavor or interesting textures; even the dressing doesn't help much at all. Neither of us finished more than half. The souvlaki was okay, but I've personally made better on my own. A longer marinade would probably help, assuming they make it themselves. The gyro was actually very tasty, though I'd have liked it sliced thicker - I assume they don't make it themselves, though, so they may not have any discretion there. The pita was pretty tasty, but the portion was a little "unbalanced". I don't want to complain about the portion sizes for the meat (which were both quite good), but there wasn't enough pita for the meat in my opinion. Service was very friendly. Pricing was okay. If they could fix the greek salad, improve the souvlaki a bit, and serve thicker slices of gyro, this could absolutely be a 4-star type of place. As is, I don't see why I'd be back - I can make better souvlaki myself, and anybody can buy similar sliced gyro meat at the store. read more

The Greek Grill was pretty quiet on a rainy Thursday evening. After reviewing the menu I went with a couple of appetizers to sample some of my Greek favorites. I got an order of falafel and spanakopita with a side of fries. The falafel were odd; like mini hockey pucks. They were fairly flavorless. I definitely needed to use all of the provided tzatziki (which did taste good). It came with pita that was well-done. The Spanakopita had crispy phyllo dough and was a really nice sized serving. But it didn't have the tangy kick of feta. Maybe they used mozzarella cheese instead but it impacted the flavor in an odd way. The fries were fine but seemed to lack any seasoning. The cashier was kind and checked on me and I was pleased with the amount of food that I got for the price. There are probably other Greek places I would go to before returning to The Greek Grill. read more

My family and I went to The Greek Grill last week for the first time! We pass this restaurant all the time and finally tried it. It wasn't a terrific experience, but it was alright. They do have a great choice in menu items anywhere from Greek, American and Italian. My dad got the Greek lasagna and only took about 3 bites. I got the meatball sub which was pretty good, sausage was a little spicy though, but still good. My boyfriend got the gyro and that was amazing! My sister got the kids tenders , not so amazing, looks like the ones you just put in the microwave and heat up? Overall though it was a good experience. Not too pricey , the lady at the counter was very nice and attentive. There wasn't many people in there, but have a nice variety of seating available. We will be back though! This little place is truly a diamond in the rough. From the outside, it looks small and quaint. It's the kind of restaurant you would pass by every day not knowing that they have some spectacular greek food. Despite being in a really old building on the side of Lewisville-Clemmons road, the place is pretty fantastic! Inside, the restaurant is really clean, and they have some nifty display screens for the menu. It's a casual dine-in restaurant where you order at the counter. The menu is large, meaning they have plenty of vegetarian options. I got the falafel platter. Tori and I shared some hummus and a greek salad. The greek salad was extremely fresh and they don't skimp on the veggies. I've had better falafel, but it was still satisfactory. The tzatziki sauce is definitely made in house and is really good. The service was friendly as well. This is my go-to greek place when I'm craving Mediterranean food. I don't know that I would travel super far to eat here, but it is definitely on my list of places to eat near home. read more

Didn't feel at all like cooking tonight so I ordered takeout. The Pastitio was fantastic! What a great "greek style lasagna!" It's Greek, so don't mistake this for any sort of Italian dish with marinara. I could definitely tell there was a touch of nutmeg in the sauce. It was so good!
