The Aegean blue and white of The Greek Korner prepares you for your entry into a small piece of the eastern Mediterranean at the corner of York and Byberry in Hatboro. Perhaps it reminded of Mykonos, the fabled romantic island where every building is painted azure and white - sea and sand. Still, the true treasure of this island is in the kitchen. Here real magic happens. I decided to sit at a table overlooking York Road in downtown to fully enjoy all the flavor the chef had to offer. Hot from the oven was the only way to capture the essence of the Mousaka I was about to consume. I forked off a corner of the generous slab before me and allowed a moment for the steam within to escape. First bite told the tale. The combination of spiced ground lamb, soft baked potato and eggplant mixed with excellent sauce and melted cheese woke my oral senses immediately, putting me on notice that I was about to experience something exceptional. I had intended to eat only half and take the rest home, but the taste/texture overwhelmed and made me selfish. I had to eat it all right there and let nothing escape. So, I did without regret. This was a maximus moment and one of the best things I've put in my mouth in the last year. Coming with a small side salad and fresh soft pitas, this was comfort food unparalleled . Fabulous meal at the Greek Korner. I'm so happy that something unique opened up in Hatboro! I had a lamb gyro and it was amazing. The service was also very attentive and the owner made great recommendations. My husband ordered the feta entree and a sandwich (can't remember which one) and he loved it as well. We walked in expecting to get takeout but we chose to dine in. The girls at the front were ready to take our order but we ended ordering from the online menu because we wanted to take our time with our choices. Our food came out fast and hot. When you have a toddler your time is definitely limited. So we appreciate the speedy service! Soup and falafel was awesome and flavorful! Great lemon taste! My sandwich was nice and packed with shaved rotisserie chicken and huge portion of fries. The place is small with a cafe type vibe. York rd location is nice and close Warminster and Willow grove. The spinach pie was delicious home made like traditional Greek style. The Greek lasagna was also delicious very light and airy and very tasty. Wanted to love this place. Gave it 2 tries thinking perhaps it was a bad day. This is NOT authentic Greek food and catering perhaps to the American crowds. Tzatziki is over salted. Chicken gyro meat is over salted. Lamb gyro meat does not taste like lamb. Also salty. Chicken souvlaki was chewy. Tomatoes in the side salad were old along with the cucumbers. French fries soggy on both occasions. Perhaps when packing the fries to go, pack them in a container with a small hole on top. read more

This is my absolute favorite place in Hatboro. My go to order is the Greek Cesar salad and baklava, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The food is so fresh, you can tell it's made from scratch. I dream about their spanakopita... it blows any frozen stuff out of the water. The restaurant itself is small, but it's super cozy and cute. First time here. I went basic. .Lamb Gyro. Plenty of meat. They added fries to the sandwich. Service. Was prompt, friendly,and informative. AClearly explained what would be on my Gyro confirming that was what I wanted. A bottle water was brought to my table may be a simple gesture, but I thought it was quite nice. I cannot believe that I am the first person to review this place on yelp; I know it's been only open two weeks but it's so good that I'm very surprised. Run, don't walk to the Greek Korner in Hatboro. I know tomorrow is November food fest Thursday but I'm sure you can make it here on Black Friday and small business Saturday : you won't be sorry. We had a chicken gyro and a lamb gyro and a moussaka which came with a small Greek salad for $56 including the tip, and a Greek orange drink, side of fries. Four of us ate for $56, it's been ages since I've been able to eat a filling meal with my family for under $60 not to mention it was delicious: they describe the moussaka as Greek lasagna, I think of it more as Greek shepherds pie, lip-smacking delicious! Just right crispy french fries, delicious gyros and everybody's nice. You should go here as soon as possible!!!!! 6 out of 5 stars or an "11." read more
