We stopped in and got a double shot of espresso and a drip coffee. The place is pretty neat on the inside..they do, indeed, have a big comfy couch! Thanks for that guys! The drip coffee selection was good, they have it set up as a serve yourself station. It's definitely a nice spot for a cup of coffee and a sweet snack. The baked goods looked slammin! The espresso though..It had zero crema and it was also bitter/harsh to get down. I definitely wouldn't recommend this be the stop if that's what you're looking for. They do not have a bathroom that I saw..which is sad.. because it's not like we've all never had the coffee before. Other than that..the shop was super relaxed, the barista was super kind, and friendly.. helpful. I feel comfortable saying it's LGBTQ+ friendly..I definitely felt like it was a safe place. Breezin' thru York, I was on a mission for coffee and found The Green Bean Roasting Company on Yelp. First off, York is a really pretty city. Tree lined, it had a real hometown feel. When I walked in, I was greeted by a cheerful barista. I asked her what's brewing and she suggested a bold roast. Looking around, its a cozy little coffee house. There is a gentleman sitting by the window sill. I see he has a military flight bag? We start talking and I tell him I was out at sea with helicopters and jump jets. He tells me he was in the Airforce. I wanted to tell him, picture a moving airstrip that's pitching and yawing while trying to land a plane at midnight while its raining. Yeah... Go Navy! haha Anyhoo, the coffee is good as well as my baked cookie. Super nice folks in a nice town, thanks Green Bean Roasting Company! read more

Really nice girl behind the counter, great friendly service but she pulled a couple bitter shots 2 days in a row. Tasted Starbucks like. Missing that fresh roast taste. Could be caused by a couple of problems, my guess is the grind isn't fresh or old beans, they should be given a week after roast to off gas but don't let them get too old. Always grind fresh for each shot. Of course the obvious is maybe simply dialing in that beautiful rancillio, could just be too hot or needs a good grouphead cleaning. Sometimes the tamp pressure and grind size combination can cause a bitter shot as well. Maybe invest in a la marzocco. Or simply upgrade your grinder. I loved the monin vanilla syrup, it's organic and non chem tasting, really saved this coffee from doom but would have liked to have tasted that fresh crema you'd expect from a roaster. Really great potential here please dial in your shots. read more

Great atmosphere, fast internet, and clean facilities. Enjoyed a stop here on my trip to York to recharge and relax. Customer service was great. 4 stars because the banana nut mocha was really sweet, I think because I had it iced so chocolate in it didn't dissolve well. Overall really enjoyed this place. I really liked the vibe of The Green Bean Roasting Company. It was such a cute corner coffee shop and I loved the tables right inside the windows facing the street outside the front of the shop. I had just eaten lunch so I didn't get a chance to try any of the baked goods that were available, but I did order a raspberry white mocha -- it wasn't my favorite, I couldn't really taste the flavor in it at all. Love this gem in York! I stopped here today (2nd visit) because I currently don't have internet and needed some wi-fi plus COFFEE! The decorations and seating is fresh and inviting. The coffee is roasted on site and the selection is delectable. I had a black coffee and there were 5 different options available, decaf, Peanut butter crunch and three other styles that are not flavored. I thought what, Peanut Butter Crunch- no way?! I tried it, and hands down, I am a fan. It is tasty and smooth! The wi-fi is strong and free plus the people behind the counters are lovely. My only wish is that they had some gluten free muffins or cookies. The gluten free BoBo's oat bars are expensive for the little morsel that you get. Regardless, I will definitely be back and others should join me. read more

I am an out of Townes looking for a cup of coffee and pastry to start my morning. I got a large Maple Latte with Almond Milk and a chocolate yogurt muffin. Cost me $8.35, and I was happy. The place was easy to find, walked right in and was greeted by woman working the counter. John Lennon was playing in the background, so how could this not be the right place ??? Was able to quickly and easily log on to WiFi and write this Yelp review. I'm seated at a clean table and I feel comfortable as I enjoy my latte and pastry. I'm happy ! It has some of the best coffee I've ever tasted in York. The prices are that of Starbucks if not a little less, but it's a local business and they have to make up for the lack of customers. They have a small variety of food, but the bits they do have are delicious. The cookies and muffins are incredible, and it has a very relaxing vibe, with art and magazines all over the store. This place is solid. Their prices are good and the space is clean and tidy. There are some tables for work and a couch/lounge area for chatting. The coffee is fine, not great, but not terrible either. I like local coffee shops a whole lot; I have worked in many. So if I lived in the area I'd probably hit this place up pretty often as it's got a good vibe. I deduct one star for the coffee not being that great and the annoying hipster music; but then again, I'd only listen to jazz in a coffee shop if I had my way so I'm nitpicking here. I'll bump it back up to five stars: buy local. read more

We went to the Green Bean for coffee since we had a gift card. Since Matcha is so healthy (and popular) we decided to split one of these as well. We got an iced coffee, a specialty latte, and an iced strawberry and cream matcha. Holy cow was the matcha good, I didn't know what to expect since I am not a fan of the taste of matcha. The matcha taste is very subtle, but the strawberry and cream tastes almost like strawberry milk. I know I'll be getting that again. The coffees exceeded expectations as well. The latte, especially, was the perfect balance of a little sweetness from the flavor (butterscotch) but not overwhelming. Overall, the price and taste were incredible and we will certainly be back again! read more
