Ordered food, it was average. The problem was two factors. One they didn't give us a receipt. Even after we mentioned it twice the girl was just non-responsive and didn't seem to care. Most people don't care about receipts but we aren't most people. We log everything. Also, we get money for logging the receipt so by not giving us a receipt you are literally taking money from us. I don't know if it's the law to provide a receipt but it seems like a good idea to me. Anyhow, the second problem was that we didn't actually get what we ordered. What we ordered was two gyro plates and baklava. We did not get the baklava (probably because we were so pre-occupied with getting the receipt), which wouldn't have been a problem if they just did what a normal place would do and print the thing. When I got home and realized the baklava was missing I was pissed. I thought about going back and yelling at someone but then i remembered that I just had a stroke a few weeks ago and this would probably not be a great idea for me right now so I ate the food that we had. We've been here several times. The food is always average. Thankfully they just opened up the Zankou Chicken over off of Lakewood. read more

I didn't read the reviews before going to this place lol. The Green Olive is located in a liquor store. Not your regular spot to get some Mediterranean food. They have some seats inside and a patio facing Long Beach Boulevard (you're only allowed to drink alcohol on the patio). We are from Europe, and I was craving doner/gyros. We usually go to the one in Torrance (close to work), but this one is close to home. Of course, it is not the same, but it comes somewhat close. We ordered the gyro meat plate and the gyro wrap. The meat plate includes hummus, a small salad, rice, gyro, and a pita. The gyro wrap comes with "potatoes" but are actually fries in a spicy spicy sauce and some pickles on the side. They offer very generous protein portions and each combo comes with a heaping scoop of rice, hummus and fresh salad. Items in picture: 1. Chicken Kebab Plate I wasn't a huge fan of Mediterranean food until I came to this spot here. Their chicken is not dry at all, the texture of the meat is incredible tender and juicy. The rice is flavored with turmeric and saffron, the hummus is creamy and acidic, the fresh salad is topped with a garlic dressing that's soooo yummy. 2. Gyro Mix When I'm not feeling chicken, I'll usually go with the gyro kebab plate. It's service with one chicken kebab, fresh lamb gyro off of a roast rack, and beef kebab. The gyro is on the crispy side, which some people might like. The beef kebab is extremely tender and has a rich meaty juice that's expected from filet mignon. Tips: Ask for extra garlic sauce that they put on the salad it's incredibly delicious to dip all the meats in. The green hot sauce is a must get for dipping as well. read more

My husband and I go here all the time. I always get the Gyro Plate and Babaganoush. The gyro plate includes a small side of salad and hummus. The food is fresh and tastes amazing. Plus, they give a lot of food so I can easily get two or three meals out of it. This is located inside a liquor store right across The Pan. I usually go to The Green Olive Compton location. My regular purchase is the Greek salad with the chicken kabobs. The chicken is absolutely seasoned to perfection, absolutely delicious. Additionally at the Compton location, the salad has just right amount of tomatoes, feta cheese, whole banana peppers, onions, with a combination of green and black olives. Comparing this salad to the. One I purchased on 6/13/25 at the Long Beach location was like night and day. I got home to see that I had a container full of pretty much LETTUCE. Due to the feta cheese on top I initially thought I was going to get the same Compton experience, but that was far from the truth. I had to fish around to find the added toppings. Just guessing, they sliced maybe one banana peppers, possibly two very small ones, a couple maybe three 1/2 tomato slices, with damn near any olives at all. Now, about the chicken kabobs, the seasoning was nothing at as delicious as the Compton location. The only similarity was the grilled flavor. The only item I can say I enjoyed was the shrimp kabobs. The take away is, I will stick to the Compton location which is a 20 min drive as opposed to a 5 minute drive. Oh well, it's worth it. read more

A bit of a strange location. Green Olive shares their space with a liquor store and dining tables are in the center of it all. There is outdoor seating as well which accommodated our dog. We ordered our food at the counter and then grabbed our drinks from the cooler and paid for them on the liquor store side. I ordered the Gyro meat and Chicken Kabob plate, which comes with rice, hummus, and salad. I substituted the rice for potatoes with an upcharge, but it was so worth it. The portion size of my plate was enough for two. Overall, everything was delicious! The gryo was a bit overcooked, but the chicken was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The potatoes are shaved, fried, and tossed in the green sauce. So delicious! Also ordered was the Mixed Grill Combo, which includes beef, chicken and Kafta kabob. Another great choice. I'll skip the gryo meat next time and order the beef kafta or chicken kabob. read more

We had an early family lunch & dropped in at 10:30, we ordered salmon kebab plate, chicken kebab plate, & veggie kebab plate. Everything was so fresh & generous portions! 3 plates fed 4 mouths with some leftovers too! The pita bread is so fluffy & tasty & soft, so glad they got rid of the old paper thin & cold pita. I usually only eat half of my plate and eat the rest as a separate meal. I love the green sauce they give with it. The hummus is delicious and the way they season them kabobs is always spot on. I've also tried the raspberry cheesecake. And it was very delicious. It wasn't too sweet or heavy. The cheesecake had a nice creamy light texture and the raspberry flavor wasn't overpowering. My husband lost his debit card yesterday so we placed an order over the phone a couple of hours ago and I paid over the phone with my card and he picked it up. ZERO issues. A coupe hours later he was going to pick me up something to eat there in his way home. I called to place the order just I had a couple hours ago and the gal who answered the phone was rude and condescending with a chip on her shoulder, told me they don't take cards over the phone, I explained I did this two hours ago, with a worse attitude she hesitantly took my order and then when I was giving her the card information she told me to hold while she took other orders...it was very blatant she was doing this on purpose. She intentionally left me on hold indefinitely until I finally hung up. We literally order from this place at least once a week. We tried Green Olive in January 2024 as a possibility for catering for our March 2024 wedding. We immediately loved the spicy green sauce, salmon kebabs, and fresh hummus and pita. Booking was quick and easy. We chose the package we wanted (choice of two meats), called and gave our order to a very helpful manager (name has fallen out of my head, I'm sorry!), and set up delivery to our event 5 miles away. Delivery on our wedding day was quick and easy, and the food was delicious and well liked by our guests. The ONLY issue was the spicy potatoes were not a good choice for passed appetisers (this was on us, as we did not sample them ahead of time). The potatoes were put out at our buffet line instead.
