    Al pastor tacos
    Amanda V.

Most people probably wouldn't expect to find vegan food in Mexico, and if they did, they may have reservations about trying it. I can say with much enthusiasm though that The Green Place is worth visiting, even if you're not vegan (I'm not). The interior is modern and inviting, with lots of colorful art on display. Additionally, it's spacious enough for those who want to work or those who want to gather with friends. There are also some items like soaps and earrings available for purchase (cash only). As for the food, we enjoyed Al pastor tacos (8/10), ramen (9/10), and good vibes smoothie (9/10). Food was all prepared quickly. The ramen broth was very flavorful and absolutely delicious. My only suggestion would be to add some more vegetables (preferably substitute corn for red bell pepper). Prices are very affordable, too. Our total was under $20. Service was friendly and accommodating. Would return for sure.

This place is perfection! I had the Chicago burger and it was one of the best vegetarian burgers I've ever had. Their cold brew and juices are fantastic. The juice had no added sugar which was exactly what I wanted. If I lived in PV I would 100% be a regular here.

This place is such a good twist on American coffee shop / cafe food. It's a million times better though. The service was fantastic. The ambiance is calm and quiet. We had a smoothie which was light and delicious. The avocado toast had a nice twist with chile oil drizzled on top. It was fresh and tasty as heck. The French toast was amazingly soft and not too sweet! It was easily some of the best French toast I've ever had. Will be back!

I try to make sure to eat at The Green Place several times when I am visiting PV. I would eat there every day if I could! Every single thing they serve, comes out, tasting fresh and delicious. I highly recommend a stop at The Green Place on your next trip to Puerto Vallarta!

French toast (vegan), chilaquiles (vegan) , golden pancakes (not vegan)

Everything is so so good here! From the atmosphere, the coffees and the food. My mom is not vegan and she loved it all! The French toast was incredible. The service is also so nice! PSA: And yes, you tip in Mexico!!! So please tip your servers.

    Buddha bowl was absolutely perfect

Gosh what a perfect spot. Big space, calm(ish) Spanish music, and everything vegan. Large, real wood tables. Plants at every table. Indoors but open air. Im so glad every time I go out of my way to support local, vegan places and this was more than I could have expected. The Buddha bowl was literally perfect and they definitely didn't skimp on the amount of tofu or any of the ingredients. The only thing they could work on is the iced matcha latte. It wasn't stirred very well. Lots of chunks at the bottom but with a good (1-3minutes of stirring it myself) it was fine since they included a metal straw. It was also fine that they didn't add sweetener. I was able to choose from several options at their condiment station after receiving the drink and add it myself (and know exactly what I was adding) There's some street parking but we arrived via Uber. Not only is this place 100% vegan, but they include a mission statement on the front of their menu that makes it clear how intentional the establishment is. Thank you very much. Muchísimas gracias.

2 carnitas and 1 al pastor vegetarian tacos.

Great food and very unexpected for the location. My wife and I came to this spot during our carnival cruise and were surprised to have a few vegetarian options for her. The setting was great but hot, which is usually for the area. The food was amazing, flavorful, and juicy. We arrived during breakfast and the waitress at the cooks if they cook something for us off of the dinner menu. Thank you all for the great food and service. Out of the two vegetarian spots that we tried, this one takes the win!

Tofu omelette with spinach, mushrooms and a side salad

Great healthy food! My friend and I get to different dishes and then shared them. One was the tofu omelette with spinach and mushrooms the other was chili Quiles Verde. We both favored the chili Quiles Verde. We also got green juice and coffee each. The coffee was OK. I like a creamy cream for my coffee but not everywhere has good vegan creamer and the coffee was a slightly bitter. Overall, everything was good!

    El Mexicano Hot Dog

What a great place to have in Puerto Vallarta for when you're craving comfort food that is still healthy and vegan! Been wanting to try this place since I heard about them last year so I was stoked to finally make it out! The Green Place is a cute and spacious restaurant in the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood of PV. We ordered: -- El Mexicano Hot Dog ($50 MX) // This classic hot dog had tomatoes, onion and jalapeños. It was so good! The hot dog itself is house made with garbanzo beans or soy I believe, and it was super tasty with the right texture. Only thing was it was kind of small for the bun, but I still really enjoyed it and would definitely order again. -- El Fifi Hot Dog ($60 MX) // My friend had this one and he really liked it as well! It had mushrooms, cheese, grilled onions and avocado. He said it was delicious if you like mushrooms! -- Aros de Cebolla ($75 MX) // The onion rings were good but the batter needed more flavor! They were really crispy and a good size, though. -- Nachos ($120) // These had a lot of good flavor from the beans, Beyond meat and salsa but my partner noted they could have done with more cheese. I enjoyed them but they def could've been cheesier! I would love to return to The Green Place next time I'm in Puerto Vallarta to try their amazing breakfast menu and more of their savory lunch / dinner stuff as well! The ambiance is really nice and they offer juices, smoothies and lemonades to drink. The service left a bit to be desired as we weren't checked on much and had to hunt someone down for the bill, but it didn't bother us much as we were enjoying the food and atmosphere quite a bit. Can't wait to come back next time and hopefully have more great food and upbeat service!

Vegetable sandwich & sweet potato fries

What happens when you fall in love? I will tell you it's the most amazing feeling in the world. Well, we fell in love with Green Place. We traveled from Nuevo Vallarta (40 min taxi ride) to get to this gem of a restaurant . Elizabeth greeted us with a smile (well we think she was smiling, since we all had masks on !) The entire vibe of the restaurant was phenomenal. The murals, the wooden tables and chairs, and the perfect music to listen to while eating. We started with green drinks (Green power for my husband and Popeye for me!) Although we really wanted the Spring Rolls they were sold out 20 minutes before we arrived (which was one of the reasons we came) We ended up having the soup of the day- A flavorful vegetable soup to start & then I had a quinoa salad with a delicious lemon vinaigrette. The salad was a wonderful combination of grape tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and onions. The hubs had a veggie sandwich on a baguette with sweet potato fries. No love story would be complete without dessert. Carrot cake.. I haven't had dessert since April it was worth the wait. Do yourself a favor don't walk-run to the Green Place. We have 7 more days in PVR & I'm sure we will be back!!! Score-100

First of all steps from where I was staying. 350 pesos for Cappuccino. I should have asked for hotter but it was very good else wise. If you don't venture into centro you might miss this delightful Vegan/Organic place. Ambiance is awesome and so beautifully decorated. It would be a 5* where I live. Employees were very nice & friendly.

Was a short walk off the Malecon to find this little....No big Gem! High ceiling plenty of spaces to sit & connect to internet. The Berry Salad & Juice Smoothie options were so tasty. Will be back for sure. Great rainy day place for a nice hot latte.

Such a great find! After walking around the Malecón as well as stopping by Mirador de la Cruz (two must sees!!!), we stopped for breakfast at The Green Place. As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed with happy smiles as well as the cool breeze of air conditioning. The overall vibe was VERY casual and chill - there were patrons sitting and sipping on smoothies, coffees while reading a book. We were seated immediately with our menus. We ordered the matcha - Cha bowsl and chunky munky smoothie bowls as well as an order of summer rolls. The food took some time but that was fine since we were occupied with planning our activities for the remainder of our trip. When the food came, we were wowed by the presentation and bright and beautiful colors of everything. Talk about eating with your eyes! I promise that you'll probably salivate just a tad when you see the food. The spring rolls are picture perfect, super Instagram-pretty- no filter needed. Not only did it look very appetizing and appealing but it definitely delivered in taste with fresh ingredients. The matcha-cha bowl came with a nice kick of matcha (shocker right?). Each bite came with crunchy coconut flakes and before I knew it, I was almost halfway through the meal. My husband really enjoyed his chunky munky bowl and he described it similar to eating ice cream for breakfast - can't go wrong with that, right? We were stuffed and ready to take on the rest of our day.....but not before leaving with an iced latte to go. All in all, I highly recommend this place! Fresh ingredients, friendly service, casual vibe.....what's not to like?

There are places that simply serve food--and then there are places that become part of your story…read more Pepe's Tacos is exactly that for me. Having come here since I was 10 years old, this iconic taquería isn't just a local favorite--it's a timeless institution that continues to define what truly exceptional tacos should be. Since 1987, Pepe's has built a reputation that extends far beyond Puerto Vallarta, and one visit is all it takes to understand why. The star of the show--their legendary tacos al pastor--is nothing short of extraordinary. The pork is expertly marinated and cooked to perfection, resulting in meat that is incredibly juicy, tender, and bursting with deep, savory flavor. Each slice is carved with precision and layered onto warm tortillas, creating a perfect foundation for what comes next. What truly elevates these tacos is the balance of toppings. The sweetness of the pineapple and the sharpness of the fresh onions cut through the richness of the meat beautifully, enhancing every bite with contrast and complexity. It's a masterclass in simplicity done right--every ingredient playing its role to perfection. Beyond the food, the experience itself is just as memorable. The service is impressively fast and efficient, especially considering how popular this spot is, and there's an undeniable energy in the air that makes it feel alive at all hours. It's the kind of place you can count on for a late-night bite, where the atmosphere is casual, vibrant, and always welcoming. Pepe's Tacos isn't about reinvention or trend--it's about consistency, tradition, and delivering excellence time and time again. Decades later, it still holds its place as one of the best taco spots in Puerto Vallarta, and for good reason. Some things never change--and when they're this good, they absolutely shouldn't.

True to its name -- Spanish slang for "calm down" or "take it easy" or even "chill out" it is a straightforward cafe with slightly elevated prices and genuinely excellent customer service. That service, more than anything else, is what drives its strong reputation. The space inside is large enough to accommodate some decent sized groups, but due to the lack of ventilation I opted for their limited outdoor seating. It wasn't the most ideal situation, as a sign fell on top of my table, a stray dog was sniffing around, and the next door space was undergoing loud construction. We still made it work, due to the graciousness of the staff and their willingness to stay open past 4pm. Their iced latte ($70MXN), double espresso ($55MXN), and mambo smoothie ($110MXN) was the right thing to order at the time, but nothing too out of the ordinary. The latte had a good amount of milk in it, so much to the point that I was unsure about any coffee. This place is cash only and the lack of additional IVA tax charges came as a nice surprise. When I'm back in PV, I'm definitely interested in trying their brunch. The chilaquiles, breakfast tacos look fabulous, though the rest of the menu seems a bit skewed toward the gringo palate. The ultra friendly staff make this place what it is, which is worthy of many future visits.
