In fairness to the restaurant, we didn't arrive until almost 8:30--but it was not a good experience. We arrived to find no one at the host station. We waited--approximately 10 minutes. When the host arrived, he offered no apology- he simply asked "table or booth. Now we waited again. It was just over 12 minutes until our waiter showed up. He was very apologetic and was a good server. Unfortunately, he was the only bright spot in an otherwise unremarkable experience. The food, while hot and not over or under cooked, was essentailly tasteless. The Host returned to the table later to see how we werer doing and was equally ambivalent. I can't imagine that I will return and I hope if my server from that night reads this post he will take my advice to find a job at a restaurant who cares for their customers as well as he does. read more

Great place usually hopping! Outside dining and super menu. Drink specials are plenty and so are the TV's. It is THE spot for the big game!! Servers are plentiful and management covers the floor also so we have always been well taken care of. There can be a bit of a wait during prime weekend hours but its a nice place to hang out for a table. Plenty of entertainment! read more

Was in the area and needed a quick bite for lunch, so I stopped by Green Turtle. The service was very fast! Food came out within 10 minutes. I ordered the Ty Cobb salad and turkey sandwhich in the lunch special. The sandwhich was enough for 2 people (comes with 4 pieces)The price was reasonable. We were in the area for a football game and first went to BWW but they had a long wait and couldn't actually give us a time of when we might be seated plus their staff was rude. We decided to try The Greene Turtle for a late lunch. I called ahead to see how long the wait was because it was a Sunday and many NFL games were on. The hostess (I didn't get her name) was so nice. She asked how many were in my party and when we would arrive. I gave the information and when I arrived, the table was ready for my party of 6. We asked to have a specific game put on and it was done immediately. Our server was Mercedez and she was AWESOME!!!! Turns out her sister works there too (didn't catch her name either) and they look identical that we actually got them mixed up and asked Mercedez' sister for refills. They both took care of us and were so hardworking, polite, accommodating and quick even though they were packed and seemed short staffed. The food was so good too. Large sizes, hot and tasted amazing!!!! This was such a great experience and if we lived closer, we would visit more often. read more

We ordered online and I went to pick it up. I was given a bag full of food and had to tell them they forgot the drink. While she went to get it, I dug through the bag and found they also hadn't included the chips. So I asked for those and she went to get those too. Unfortunately I didn't look at the funnel fries until I got home, since they were on the bottom layer. They were just plain fried dough, no powdered sugar and NO dipping sauce (they were supposed to come with chocolate and strawberry). The food we did have was decent, the raspberry lemonade drink was good, but we didn't get what we paid for. The staff needs WAY better training on filling orders correctly, and on what comes with each dish. If you ever get pick-up from here, be prepared to open every container and inspect it to make sure you haven't been ripped off!! read more

They are ok. Nothing to write home about. Way overpriced based on the quality of the food. But, the servers are nice and the individual TVs at the booths are a nice touch (though having to ask for a remote is a pain in the butt!). Normally I skip them when going to dinner. read more

"The Greene Turd-Hole" The menu is very limited. Mostly burgers and fried foods. One time I got the brownie sundae and had a STEAK KNIFE trying to cut through the brownie and with all my strength I could not get it to go even half way through. I told the waiter and he removed it from the bill so...that was nice service I guess. During the sporting events the football dominates all other audio so if you're cool with only video on any sport that's not football this is your place. Had an order of Mussels with the wife as an appetizer, glad I did not order that as a meal. Maybe 25 mussels....garlic butter and white wine cooked in is a bit weak, some celery/onions and tomatoes would do wonders for it. Bread served with it was simply a hot dog bun (okay, maybe a sub bun) ripped apart and put on the side of the bowl. Very disappointing. Not a fan at all. Place has definitely fallen off tremendously. Visited this evening to catch the D.C. Vs Rumble fight with a couple friends. Service and food was horrible. Only upside was the fight was free. Even with that the attendance seemed a little low. My recommendation. Get a new staff and do a grand reopening. Mediocre service Not a deal breaker, but plenty of room for improvement. More oriented to clientele that are not in a hurry and are just as interested, if not more so, in following the numerous sports events on the many TVs. The servers could have been more proactive - one server was just walking around the restaurant, not doing much other than looking pretty, and there were a couple of dirty tables were not being bussed. It took over 15 minutes to tell us that they were out of mozzarella sticks after we ordered. The service here is hit or miss, but the food has always been good, drinks and beer selection is good. If you're looking to catch a game or just a decent sit down place after a VIP movie at Leitersburg cinema, this is a pretty safe choice. Made a trip out here for lunch today. At 11:09 when I try to go in, the door is locked. So I go around to the other door, also locked. Has the opening time changed from 11:00? Not according to the times posted on the door. Weird. So I call. The guy who answers the phone seems aggravated that I've called and informs me that yes, they are open and he knows the door is locked. He says someone will be right out to open it. It's freezing out, but I wait by the door for another 4 minutes before I give up and leave. I probably would've waited a couple more minutes if it wasn't below freezing outside. By the time I got in my car and started to drive away at 11:15, no one had yet come to open the door. I'm writing this review from another restaurant whose door was open. read more

Came to watch the Steelers game on Sunday and was told the soda machine was broken so no soda or lemonade was available. My father ordered a miller lite, and when he asked for a refill they said that they just ran out of miller lite on draft. My grandfather ordered a yuengling on draft, but when he asked for a refill he was also told they just ran out of yuengling on draft but that he could order a bottle instead. Not good timing for that at 1pm on football Sunday... Then, right at game time (1pm) their direct tv NFL Sunday ticket went down and they could only show the Baltimore Cleveland game on local tv. This wasn't their fault though- it was direct tv and affected other bars in the area too. We waited and it eventually came back up. Unfortunately they preset the games that'll show on each tv and will play a blowout game no one cares about (buccaneers vs bears) when the place is packed with ravens and Steelers fans and they won't accept any requests to change the tvs. So be careful about where you sit! You might have to watch a tv far away to see a game without turning around backwards and such. The food was good though as always. read more

Worst experience ever! After being seated rather quickly, we waited 15 minutes before our waitress came to get our drink orders. Once our food came out our waitress never came back to see how anything was. After eating half of my burger I had noticed a HUGE chunk of hair in it... and not your typical strand of hair... HUGE CHUNK!!! The waitress finally came back and asked if I was ready for a box when I told her what was wrong. I asked for her to take my meal off the bill. No offer to fix the situation, no apology, no offer to make another meal, no manager involved.... Completely disgusted! read more

The management is the problem here. Everything trickles down from that. If you're lucky enough to be seated by any hostess, you'll wait forever to see any server. Once you see a server and imagine you'll get your drinks, appetizers, and food in a timely manner, forget it. That won't happen. If you bother to complain to management, they get on the defensive, do nothing to admit responsibility or compensate you, and it never gets better if you give it another try - over and over. It's a shame because if you ever get waited on, the food is fairly good. The problem is that they do not have enough servers, and there is zero direction within the place. After 2 different attempts at this "establishment" I will not go back. 1st try I went with my mother and sister at noon for lunch. There were literally 6 people in the entire place, and got told we would have a 45 minute wait. Really?!! We left. A few months later I unfortunately went back to try it again. What a mistake. I went with my husband and daughter, as well as my parents. We waited an hour for our food. There was one waitress working the entire restaurant. My dad asked for the new rootbeer that was on the menu, and got sorry we don't actually have that yet. Then she brought the wrong drinks. The serve the childrens macaroni in a blazing hot out of the oven skillet. To children?! Who's brilliant idea was this. Left terribly disappointed. The cheese steak was good, but that's it. I didn't have an issue with a wait time. Also my hostess was neither rude nor friendly. Our waiter was nice enough, but the manager brought us out our food from the kitchen and different waiters helped refill drinks and whatnot. The place is filthy, as one reviewer mentioned. The floor...the booths...the paneling on the walls...i was scared to touch the seats...like someone please take some clorox to this joint. I wont be back for this reason. HOWEVER...the food was good. I go to The Turtle for the drinks, sometimes live music, and the bar eats. There is nothing special about the entrees on the menu, and I don't find that they are prepared well. I had a Turkey burger, 2x that was awful. The only items I can reccommend are the Buffalo Wings, and the Veggie Wrap. read more

Never get the fried chicken seasonal dish here. It's not even fried chicken. It's just a big chicken strip, not the same. The mashed potatoes taste straight out of the box and the gravy is mediocre. The green beans are also really bad. But if you do ever eat here. Get a burger. read more

Very poor customer service! It wasn't busy or packed, we had empty tables around us. We placed our order, received our drinks. We didn't see our server again for approximately 15 minutes when he brought the wrong order! I'm all for showing off your skills and not writing down the customers order, but at least bring back the correct one! We asked for more drinks, 20 minutes later he returned with our correct order, NO DRINKS and no silverware. We waiting another 10 minutes for him to return with drinks that had food floating in them. The chicken wings were delicious but I'm not going to lie, it was hard to eat more than 2-3 due to the concern of the cleanliness of the restaurant! I am always hear with the family and have never had a bad meal. Great staff and location. Food always prepared as ordered. Our regular waitress knows our drinks and meals so love that aspect. Good selection of beer, the even have a mug program where you can buy your own mug. Lots of TVs to catch big sports games. read more
