Once seated in our comfortable booth, I ordered the famous Sweet Tea. If you like Iced Tea, it's a must have. We each ordered the lunch special fried chicken sandwich. Mine with French Onion soup, (I requested no added salt), and she with seasoned fries. We raved about the chicken, tasty and large, and I loved the soup. The crazy part was that the total bill was ONLY $24. How does a beautifully prepared and SERVED lunch wind up the same price as a couple of large lunches at McDonalds?? When it's time for a steak I order the Bone-in Ribeye... the best around and a bargain at $32-34. But the $7 lunch is impossible to beat if you want a nice meal in a sit-down restaurant. Our waiter checked on us almost immediately after serving, before I had cut into my steak, before any of us had a chance to sample our meals. He only returned when giving the check. 23 Mar 26 - Hagerstown. I'm a huge fan of Longhorn. I've dined at Longhorn in Chantilly and Dulles, VA, Hagerstown, MD, and Chambersburg and Mechanicsburg, PA. Been dining at Longhorn since 2005. Only had a bad meal once and that was in Chambersburg, PA . The food there was tragically over cooked and the manager and cook were racist basturds. But tonight, once again in Hagerstown, the food and service were fantastic. My steak and mashed potatoes were perfect. The wife complained about her steak, but she always does. The atmosphere was great/quiet but then two large parties came in and sat next to us and got all loud. So we left. Good service great food. read more

We arrived on NYE, didn't seem insanely busy. Just normal. We were sat within 2 minutes of greeting the hostess as a party of two with several other parties of the same capacity behind us. They were also sat quickly. We were sat and were not greeted by our waiter for about 10 minutes. When he did come over we were sure to order an app and drinks immediately to get the ball rolling. We ordered two alcohol drinks and two waters. The waiter quickly returned when they were out of my boyfriend's beer choice to ask for an alternative. Within a few minutes of this we placed our orders for entrees. Within 15 minutes of ordering our app, the order of wings came out. We ordered a bleu cheese and ranch, THREE bleu cheese came out. Had to flag our waiter a second time for ranch. Still no drinks. When our drinks arrived, it was several minutes after the food and we had to remind the waiter about our waters. He was quick to grab them this time. We waited about 45 minutes for our steaks. I realize turn over for steaks in a steak house can take a bit. However, while seated we watched tables sat after us receive food before us. We also were not asked if we wanted second drinks, and I had to seek out our waiter to ask for them. When dinner was finished I had to flag down our waiter for a check. When he did come over I explained we had a coupon for a free appetizer (an email containing a code). The waiter explained he would need to take my phone to the register to take the code. What? I looked at him clearly confused and unwilling to submit to the bizarre request at which he suddenly came up with the idea to take a photo. However not in that moment, actually another 15 minutes later. Maybe I'm pre-historic to the younger generation but I do believe ancient tools (I.e. pen and paper) still exist. We easily spent another 40 minutes trying to wrap up dinner/get a check. Overall we were in LongHorns over two and a half hours and watched every table around us turn through diners until we were the last remaining from when we had arrived. I am ALL for not being bothered while dining but normal courtesy's were not extended and our waiter was virtually impossible to find/when he was eye contact was completely avoided. Only reason I'm not rating lower was because the main meal was great. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The runner was great and grabbed my boyfriend steak sauce before running away. We were in the neighborhood for the Outlets and decided to fuel up before shopping. We decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was very attentive, pleasant and super nice. We just wanted something light so I settled on half grilled chicken and strawberry salad with the dressing on the side and French onion soup. They were each perfect portion of food, not too much, not too little. They were delicious. I ate every bite. My husband got a caesar salad and upsized it for large. Omg, I don't think I seen such a big salad before. It all plenty of fresh shaved parmesan cheese over on top. He ate maybe a third of the salad. And it was cheap. It was 3.99 plus 1.99 for upsize. We stopped by on October 4th as we were passing through town. All the staff were great from the moment we walked in the door. Our server, Hannah, was absolutely superb. She always seemed available without being overbearing. Both of us had the 6oz Filet (rare) which was perfectly prepared. He had the chowder which was very flavorful. Dining out while traveling with my boss is the equivalent of dining with a young child. If it isn't super Americanized or a chain he isn't about to agree to a stop. On our way back from the DMV we decided to swing by the outlets and see what was offered. Unfortunately they don't offer much at the food court so Longhorns was basically the only place left. Not my choice as I prefer, when I can, to dine at independent original establishments, but at least I knew my boss would be satisfied and wouldn't cast a stink eye my way. We got here around lunch time and had no wait. Seated by a pleasant hostess and the waitress showed up within minutes to take our drink order. She brought our drinks and stepped away to bring a loaf of bread. I think this is really nice, but I wish she would have asked if we wanted it because I didn't and apparently he didn't so this loaf just went to waste. She came back and took our orders. We both ordered salads and my boss also got a cup of soup. It was a FREEEZING day and a cup of soup would have been nice but they didn't offer any soup that wasn't cream based or had cheese in it. I think the soups should be more diversified. Our food came in an acceptable time and by all standards it was good. I ordered a chicken and strawberry salad, also had grapes and mandarin oranges, with feta and almonds. It came with a raspberry vinaigrette, but I substituted the balsamic instead on the side. I don't use bottle dressings so I sparingly used it. The salad was good enough that it really didn't need the dressing. So overall I was pleased. Another refill and we finished up and left. Decent stop, good service, need a few more selections for people who may not want a cheeseburger, fried food, or steak for lunch but might want something other than a salad. read more

They have one of the best salads if any steak house we visit. The Servive is always excellent. The only issue is they don't have a lunch menu and $13-15 each for lunch is a bit steep. We ended up getting soup and a salad which was the cheapest items,plus the salads are good. I did notice they are cutting the warm bread in halves now,I guess to save in waste but when we asked for another the waiter did not hesitate to bring out another. We have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seated but we have never been there on a Friday evening. We definitely will go back. read more

This was the best service that I've received EVER! The manager (Bridget), was so on point! Our wait was longer than expected and aside her being super apologetic, she also compensated us with a large appetizer. On top of that, her customer service skills were A+. She repeatedly came to our table to check on us and to ensure that we had been serviced to a great standard. I have not seen a manager who operates in pretty much every position, but she moved from the greeting station, to roaming and also in the kitchen. My steak came out too over cooked, and she immediately put in another order for me. This restaurant was a site for soar and the cure for a hungry stomach that had spent what felt like hours in holiday traffic on the highway during the 4th of July weekend. I'm a regular customer at my own hometown longhorn and I've had countless meals and drinks from the darden chain throughout many states, I have to say this was the worst service/ time spent, here at this location. We were shopping at the Hagerstown Outlets, right next to longhorn and we wanted a sit down meal instead of the fast food at the outlets so I called ahead ( it was lunchtime) and they were on a 10 min wait so we walked over to Longhorn. We Walked in and I gave them my name, waited around 15 min. We were sat and it took around another 10 min just for our server to greet us! Like I said we know the menu so when she finally did come, we were ready to order everything. We went with two burgers with fries, a coke and a coffee- that's it. Our very difficult drinks took another 10 minutes and as she brought those we asked to have the bread they always usually serve to every table, another 10 min( now 30 min for drinks and bread). Finally at the 50 min mark, not joking, our burgers came out. Ticket times for burgers, let alone anything on their menu should never take that long. overall we spent almost an hour and a half in this longhorn, you guessed it the bill took long to get too. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the food was decent. The service has much to be desired. read more

I have been to the Hagerstown Outlet Mall twice in my life and each time we chose to eat at LongHorn...yes, this is the ONLY restaurant at the Mall but trust me that this is also the best choice!! Today my food clan was emulating ladies lunching so despite noshing after hours of shoe shopping (I found shoes that make me feel like I am walking on a cloud!) and Christmas shopping, we stuck to the lunch menu even though we all could have tied on actual feed bags!! My baby sister (the ultimate yelper and recent conscientious food consumer) downloaded the LongHorn app on my phone to check calorie count on all the sandwich, salad and soup options. Boy was I surprised to find out the lobster and shrimp bisque had fewer calories than the french onion soup (barely) and the chicken and strawberry salad clocked in with over 1,000 calories. At 1:30p the joint was packed but there was not a wait for a table. We were greeted immediately by a friendly host, seated by a smiling hostess and welcomed by an enthusiastic server and warm wheat bread. Loved the great start! Barely a word was spoken as lunch was devoured! Mom was happy with her chimichurri sirloin on soft sliced bread and bisque. After baby sister finished her sliced prime rib on a baguette and bisque, she kept dipping her finger in the horseradish mixed with sour cream...it was a really good sauce! The cute sister was odd man out with her avocado and chicken on flatbread and baked potato soup. I heard the soup was yummy (how can you go wrong with potatoes, cheese and bacon??) but the avocado was a spread instead of thick slices and made the sandwich a messy eat. A minor disappointment...and even though I saw plenty of thick slices of chicken, it looked like a tiny sandwich (I recommend getting the whole sandwich to make a dent in a tummy!!) Personally, I was in heaven! Under a full layer of melted cheese was hiding a flavorful beef broth with caramelized onions. Of course the toast was mushy after absorbing all the soup but it did not stop me from digging in and burning my esophagus! The prime rib slices on my sandwich were juicy, perfectly cooked and nestled within grilled onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese. I had the most fun making different taste combinations with each bite...meat slathered with horseradish sauce; sandwich, sauce dipped in soup; sandwich in soup and then sauce....my taste buds were under attack!! *raised eyebrow* ....Really? Could a sandwich really be that good? You betcha'!! My mouth is watering right now thinking about it...I even remember the last bite where I picked up every last meaty, oniony morsel off my plate. I rarely use the term "Gastronomically Orgasmic".....but OMG this lunch combo was GO!! I have to find the receipt to get the servers name, but he was on point!!! Refilling drinks BEFORE we even asked and giving us a heads up that the kitchen was slammed with orders the same time ours went in and offering more bread....He was definitely a GREAT server!!! Thank you for paying attention to all the little details!!! Four lunch combos and 3 non-alcoholic drinks set us back $44 which includes tax. My friends ordered 5 minutes before me as I walked in 5 minutes after them. It was 10 minutes before the waitress came over and asked what I wanted to drink. I then waited 15 minutes before finally going up to her at the bar asking if I could place an order for food. When I asked if I could order, she did not even look up to acknowledge me. I then waited over 30 minutes for 2 sirloin dinners (one to go for my wife who could not come). My entire table had finished their meals and been finished for 10 minutes before our waitress finally came back to our table. I told her that the entire table was finished and that I no longer wanted the dinners. She said that can't be done and that the food is now coming out, and that they are busy. She gave me a terrible attitude when I asked for her to at least put it in a to go box. I paid 30$ plus for those two steaks, and I wasn't even able to enjoy it at the restaurant. My wife and I love going to the Longhorn Steakhouse in Morgantown, WV, and we go there a lot. We also travel between Morgantown and D.C stopping at the Longhorn in Hagerstown, MD. Things had been good until the last two visits. They didn't get our orders accurate and my steak was not cooked appropriately. During our last visit, I asked for my steak to be medium, but it was so raw that it mooed when I cut it. I was nice and asked to have it cooked more which took so long I had finished everything else by the time it came back. Last night we had a party of 5 come in after waiting on a convenient waiting list. We did not know we'd be on another waiting list after being seated. Being seated we would have expected to meet our server or have our drinks taken, instead we met a busboy that was kind enough to take our drink orders. After 25 long awaited minutes we met our server that was never seen until this point with our drinks. We had tried to understand that they were busy and that everyone gets overwhelmed at times. We had waited another 10 minutes to get our order in after still not receiving our bread as we we're told there is none available as we watch others be greeted with a loaf on the table waiting. Finally! We get our order in for food after the many many errors of the night, seems like things are looking up and we get to enjoy our main course in the near future. But wait, there's the long awaited bread that once was a staple for longhorn steakhouse and we were valued enough to get refills while all of us are sucking on ice. I finally am feeling recognized when the on staff manager comes over after I believe she's noticed the situation we have gotten into tonight. She asked if everything is going well for us tonight and I reply for our party, "Well besides the wait and the lack of hospitality that we are used to here it is not going horrible." she responded "I am sorry to hear this and I hope that tonight gets better from here" and leaves our table. We then shortly recieve our food and start to eat, everything is looking great and is worth the wait it seems, boy are we slightly mistaken. the steak was unseasoned and overcooked. the chop steak was done in the same as it was dry and only the size of a typical burger. All of the baked potatoes were undercooked and just a disappointment for our experience. But the staff seemed patient for our approval for our meal and our complaints and concerns were expressed an are met with apologies and methods of correction, an example is the staff offering to remake the meals within our complaints and politely refused. shortly after the on staff manager came out again and asked if we would like replacements to take our new meals home and we politely refused and after she said "I hope you all have enjoyed your experience and hope to see you again." I have thrown good money after bad but I am positive I can find better ways to spend 86 dollars on meals elsewhere than a steakhouse that cooks as well as average joes kitchen. read more

So nice to have top notch customer service..a rarity these days. 6:45 on a Friday night, of course they were busy. 15 minute wait, they seemed to be well staffed and efficient. We were chatting and having a good time, didn't even notice our wings took longer than our other appetizer. The manager, Brenda noticed though, stopped by the table to apologize and comp the wings. The food is great. The only thing I could think to make it better would be Chicken Fried Steak on the menu...its a Texas Steakhouse. I'm a Texas transplant and really miss Chicken Fried Steak. They are really good. They steaks are always well prepared and you can never go wrong with their dessert. After asking waitress if there are steaks she said ,Yes. I put my order in for Prime rib (yum) and steamed broccolili. Five minuets passed and herenshe come with bad news. What a friendly establishment! Upon entry, the front greeter had a waitress walk us to a booth who provided menus. It really feels like a lower tier of Clydes. The ambiance has a low-light, by the fireplace feel with low chatter, which is really soothing for a cold day. Then, the jolliest waiter came to tell us his recommendations off the special menu and was real gungho about all the options. He is definitely no ordinary chain waiter. He was tending to many tables, but was very fast with getting us drinks and our orders in. Our salads came out first, which was not overdressed. The free warm wheat bread is really, really surprisingly good for a chain. Not too long later, our entrees came out piping hot. We got the 6oz under 500 calories steak with fresh vegetables. The cut of the meat is not the best steak you'll ever get, but it was cooked to medium rare as asked and had a lot of flavor to it. What impressed me were the vegetables...usually when you go to a chain, they come out dull in color, soggy. But these were crisp and bright in color. We also had the sweet potato bites, which were addictive. Think tater tots, but sweet potato form, basted in a caramel flavor. It was like kettle popcorn heaven. Only qualm was that the fries were pretty salty. Getting the check could not have been easier. There was never, ever a wait with our waiter; he was always nearby and quickly tending to his other parties. While this is no Ruths Chris, for a chain and for its prices this is a decent steakhouse to come to after a long day of shopping. Warm service that you usually don't expect from a chain. read more
