I made the life changing mistake of trying ceremonial-grade matcha once, and now I can't go back (FR, FR). Regular matcha tstes like diluted lawn clippings. Ceremonial grade matcha... one sip and I'm in full Avatar state, levitating over my latte!!!! I'm obsessed!! IYKYK!!! I finally found my holy grail at Greenhouse Matcha. We ordered a Matcha Latte, Lavender Matcha, and Strawberry Matcha, each one fresh, smooth, and dangerously spikes my oxytocin levels!!! I don't like sweet drinks so my Matcha Latte was perfectly perfect!! *Warning... parking is awful, the side lot is extremely small. Emmanuel guided us like a matcha sommelier w great recommendations. My son immediately sacrificed his full drink to the floor gods, and the team kindly replaced it. Mishka cleaned it up like a hero, and shoutout to Paloma and Francis for being absolute gems. Elite matcha!!! Must try!!!! Angel staff!!!! Definitely coming back for more of that ceremonial-grade matcha goodness!!!!!
My boyfriend and I were very pumped to try out this cafe, but what a disappointment! We found out about the place through Yelp and saw in the menu section that they had an Ube Matcha. When my boyfriend ordered that drink, the guy was very condescending. Not knowing it was a seasonal drink, he very rudely asked my boyfriend, "Do you see Ube Matcha on the menu?" It was completely unnecessary and inappropriate. Trying to deflect his sassiness, I explained that we saw it on Yelp and that it was our first time there. If he had simply told us it was no longer available, we would have happily chosen something else. Maybe he had dealt with a rude customer before, but it was still unexpected. I truly regret not getting the guy's name. Despite the terrible customer service, we still stayed and ordered the Cookie Batter Matcha and the Monkey Matcha. One word: disgusting. It was genuinely slop in a cup. The matcha was not good, and the added syrup did not go together. We were genuinely excited to try this place, but between the rude interaction and the drinks, it ended up being a complete letdown.
Such a cute little shop! Love that they primarily use oat milk! We ordered monkey matcha and it was delicious! I got it 25% sweet and that was still pretty sweet, so would recommend 0%. Love the banana chunks in it though. The service was friendly and fast too. So many cute things inside, plants, the matcha they use, and kim k stickers lol Will be back next time I'm in town! They have a pet friendly patio!
Cute space, great concept... but the drinks just weren't it for me. I noticed The Greenhouse Matcha while heading to the coffee shop next door. The reviews and menu looked promising, so I was excited to give it a try--especially since I love matcha and hojicha. I've tried this place twice now. First Visit I ordered the Monkey Matcha because banana-flavored matcha/coffee is really trending and usually tastes amazing elsewhere. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst drinks I've ever had. The drink was extremely thick--not in a creamy way, but in an unpleasant, heavy way. The banana mixture just didn't taste good, and combined with oat milk as the base, condensed milk, and a cream top, it was way too dense. I took three sips and threw it away. It just did not work for me at all. I also ordered a hojicha latte for my husband (his favorite type of drink), and he didn't like it either. It was below mediocre, and he ended up tossing his drink too. Second Visit I wanted to be fair and assumed maybe I just picked the wrong drinks the first time, so I came back and ordered: Matcha Latte Lavender Matcha Latte Both were okay at best, but not something I'd go back for. To explain the matcha flavor, here's how I'd rate it on an "earthiness" scale: Think Starbucks matcha as very light, not very earthy. Think somewhere like Stagger in LA as strong, ceremonial-grade, very earthy--like a 10/10 for me. The matcha here sits somewhere in the middle, maybe around a 7/10 on the earthy scale. It's not light, but it's also not that deep, complex, umami-rich matcha I love. It's almost earthy, but not quite there. My bigger issue is the texture. With oat milk as the main base, the drinks feel a bit too thick and heavy for my personal taste. I actually liked the lavender matcha more once the ice started to melt and thin it out. My daughter had the regular matcha latte and she really liked it--gave it an 8/10, so clearly this is also a preference thing. For me, though, it wasn't my cup of tea (literally). Menu & Ordering Experience The interior is very cute and inviting. They also promote local artists/vendors and sell some of their items inside, which I really appreciate. However, I think the menu setup could use improvement: The menu is a small print-out by the register, which can be overwhelming for first-timers. It's not the most "browse-friendly" if you want to take your time deciding. Luckily, I had already looked at the menu online, but the guy behind me clearly hadn't and was overwhelmed trying to quickly figure it out. He ended up asking the cashier for recommendations. The cashier did clarify that any flavor listed can be made as matcha, hojicha, or coffee, which is helpful--but that's not obvious just from looking at the menu. Parking Parking is a big plus. There are two small lots plus street parking, so it's easy to find a spot. Final Thoughts I love the idea of a matcha-focused shop, and I think a lot of people will enjoy this place, especially if they like thicker, oat-milk-based drinks and mid-level earthy matcha. My daughter enjoyed her drink, so it's definitely a preference thing. For me personally, though, the flavors and textures just didn't hit. I wish I liked it more because the space is cute, the concept is great, and I love supporting specialty spots--but in the end, it just wasn't for me.
Stopped by this spot to try some matcha in Ontario. This spot has friendly staff with some street parking and parking spots next door. Matcha, however, did not satify. Opted for their Vanilla Bean Matcha. The drink was still slightly clumpy with every sip and the flavor profile itself just lacked the necessary matcha notes for a good matcha latte. I do not recommend this spot, as there are other better spots around the Ontario area.
Greenhouse Matcha is hands down the best matcha I've had so far. The shop itself is small but super cute--decorated with flowers. There was even Smiski and Sonny Angel cookies to buy. I ordered the Monkey Matcha, which was blended with fresh bananas. The ratio of matcha to banana was spot on--not too sweet, not too bitter, just perfectly balanced. Such a charming spot that's definitely worth stopping by if you're a matcha lover (or even if you're just curious). I'll definitely be coming back when I'm in the area.
I already knew what I wanted to order as I wanted to try their double Matcha. Upon walking in, I was greeted right away. The guy taking my order introduced me to their spooky / holiday menu. I saw the monster mash & immediately knew I wanted to try it. It consists of chocolate sauce, Oreo, Oat milk, Matcha, and topped with Ube cream foam & Oreo pieces. The guy asked me if I like it sweet, and I told him I don't like it too sweet. And they were able to modify my drink. When I got my drink, it was so cute. It definitely had that "monster" look. When I first accepted, the Matcha tasted watery. But when I mixed it, it tasted delicious. You get the taste of the chocolate sauce and oat milk, which taste like chocolate milk and then you get the taste of Matcha with the bits of Oreo pieces, then you get a slight hint of Ube. Definitely recommend this place for your Matcha fix.
Omg this place is such a cute hidden gem! I absolutely loved the matcha as it was fresh and the Coconut Matcha wasn't overly sweet. They have a huge selection of drinks and the employees are super accommodating and helpful/honest. Everyone that worked here looked like they actually enjoyed their job. The interior is nice with a small area for sitting (there's a lot of outdoor seating). They also sell matcha bowls and goods from local artists. I did notice the use of AI art on the front wall which was a little bit of a turnoff-I hope they eventually replace it with art from local artists. Overall, it was such a nice piece experience and I can't wait to stop by again. Please add more dairy-free options to the menu!!!
Super popular spot amongst local, but the drink's viscosity was not my favorite. It was thicker than I ever had it, but the flavor was there. I wouldn't go out of my way to come try it again, unless i'm in the area Parking can be found on the street, staff were friends as well. Very little seating inside and out.

This is a long overdue review. I usually think it's not worth it to get latte's or matcha's since I can make them at home but The Greenhouse matcha is worth the hype. I usually always get the flan creme brûlée matcha or latte and my wife gets the sea salt caramel hojicha. We can never try other drinks because our original drink is always so good and we've been here at least 15 times. Come and try this place, you won't regret it. Customer service is always fantastic as well and environment is great. Sometimes there's issues with parking but you'll find a spot and it's worth it. read more

5/29/26 It's a Vanilla Bean Dream type of day (matcha) TGIF Everyone Such an adorable little Matcha shop with beautiful aesthetics and just a cool vibe. Only one little round table indoors with some plants for sale and a little bit of merch like candles, whisk for your Matcha, stickers, etc.. There are 3 sets of tables/chairs outdoors to enjoy your treats the person that I spoke to, Lily is a very sweet and kind young lady who answered all my questions I was able to make the decision to finally buy a whisk for my Matcha and she gave me pointers on how to use it. The traditional whisk is made with bamboo, but it's not well utilized commercially because it tends to break off. I chose that one considering I'm only making the Matcha for myself. They use a whisk made with resin in the shop. My Vanilla Bean Dream was so delicious! I opted for Matcha versus coffee as the base, rich, deep and earthy not too sweet. It was the perfect drink for today. Street only parking available from what I gathered. I wish this shop was closer to me then I would frequent it at least once or twice a week. Loved this visit so much. read more
Delicious! Staff greeted promptly with energy and warmth, tried the flan and monkey matcha's. They are beyond delicious. The atmosphere is very fitting and memorable. You can tell that they take pride and live their customers! Will definitely be returning. read more

Saw this place on Yelp so had to check it out. It's a cute little shop and if you don't pay attention, you can easily kiss it. The inside is super cute and the staff are very friendly. I got their monkey matcha which is essentially a banana matcha. It was delicious. 4/5 read more

Great drinks. Tried their fall menu: Mexican pumpkin pie matcha and cookie butter matcha (def recommend pumpkin) Cute place. Though parking may be limited (at least closest to the shop), they do provide a little map of other free parking areas right in front of their store read more

Real Matcha, Real Knowledge - A Must-Visit Spot! The Greenhouse Matcha in Ontario is an absolute gem. So many cafes use low-quality or overly sweetened matcha, but this place does it right--they use real ceremonial grade matcha, and you can taste the difference. I ordered the iced vanilla matcha and it was perfect: smooth, vibrant, and naturally sweet without being overpowering. The quality and balance were spot on. The shop itself is beautiful and calming, filled with greenery and good vibes. It's the kind of place you instantly feel relaxed in. The owner clearly knows his stuff and is genuinely passionate about what he serves. That level of care and knowledge really shines through. I honestly hope they open a location near me--this kind of quality and experience is hard to find. This is a cute little matcha shop with boho vibes, the decor inside the shop is very well thought out, and there are matcha whisks and bowls for sale as well as some organic soaps and candles. I wanted to stop by because i hardly see any shops dedicated to just selling matcha in the IE. the drinks were yummy, however the consistency is more like a smoothie than a latte, very thick and creamy. The flavor of the matcha was very light than what I am used to, however this does make a nice sweet treat for the times you are craving a dessert. The specific drinks we ordered seems a little heavier than a regular matcha latte with milk. But I'm sure there were other options. Overall the shop had good service and appealing drinks! My daughters and I made a trip here today after church. My oldest has kind of become a matcha connoisseur of sorts and my youngest and I are kind of along for the ride lol. She got the frescas con matcha and enjoyed it. I opted for the monkey matcha and it was pretty good, definitely not as sweet as I was anticipating it would be. My youngest got the sea salt caramel matcha and opted to make it extra sweet since she is not at all a coffee or matcha drinker. We enjoyed our drinks but my oldest and I commented on how the matcha was a bit grainier than we are used to. It could have just been an off day, but it may not have been whisked long enough to get out all the clumps. The place is super cute and has seating inside and outside. They also had some beautiful cookies for sale as well as some soaps, cups and other little trinkets. Loved the electric fireplace and ambiance in general. We would definitely come back to try it again. read more
I'm in the hunt for a good matcha place and I think I found it! This place is located in the downtown Ontario area so we parked on one of the side streets. The place was small but still some areas you can sit. There was seating outside too. The worker was friendly too and able to recommend their most popular drinks. We ordered the cookie butter matcha latte and the strawberry matcha latte. We adjusted the sweetness to half which was perfect. I was able to really taste the matcha too. If you're in the Ontario area I highly recommend checking this place out! read more
Walked in and was immediately greeted with a historical, cute vibe cafe. Not somewhere you'd go to sit and study since seating is minimal but if you're on the go it's good. We got the cookie butter matcha and the strawberry matcha. Both good but I will say maybe it could use more ice? It felt almost a little warm since the ice melted down but still so tasty! read more

WOOOOOOW this is quality matcha! The coconut matcha is sooooooooooo good! The banana matcha is really good too if you like it sweeter. I like how they use the good ice too and they don't put too much. There's interior seating and some outdoor seating. The restroom is in their other restaurant next door. The interior was cutely decorated. It's in an old beautiful restored building 1916. We took our matcha and walked across the street at the museum and look at all the murals around. Service was very accommodating and was so happy to help. There's a small lot besides the cafe and some street parking. read more

Let me start by saying, I went to UCI and had, what felt like an abundance of coffee and matcha places almost at my fingertips -- MoonGoat, Peet's, blk dot, Tru Bru, KIT Coffee, Krisp, and other small business shops. I wouldn't necessarily consider myself an avid coffee and matcha goer, but moving back home saddened me, knowing that many of my go-to options to indulge in coffee and tea were now 45+ minutes away. However, one of my recent discoveries was The Greenhouse Matcha on Transit and Euclid, located in a historical building from the early 1900s! It has been my go-to since, and I appreciate that they have rewards (I believe every 8th drink is free), which is rare for most small coffee and tea businesses. Their menu is simple, with unique options not found elsewhere, such as the "Monkey Matcha" containing banana sauce and condensed milk, or their unique Strawberry Matcha - Fresa con Matcha, which is different from the strawberry matcha you see elsewhere. I will say that some may consider their prices pricey, which... they're not wrong! However, considering the scarce options available within the city, one is paying for quality, quantity, and convenience. I find their mini ball ice cubes in their drinks enjoyable, and their serving sizes generous. The staff is incredibly sweet, helpful, and attentive. The inside is cute and cozy, but rather small with limited seating, providing at most 5-7 seats, with their outdoor patio providing maybe 3-6 seats. One can find matcha essentials among other things (stickers, cookies, etc.) on their shelves or cart stand located in the middle of the shop. Recently, I visited on a Sunday afternoon with my sister, to a crowd of 2-5 people waiting for their drinks. Parking was quite easy, considering the coffee shop Mestiza, located next door, was closed. This might not be the case when both are open, so expect to potentially park on Laurel Ave if parking is full on Transit Street. I ordered an Iced Vanilla Bean Dream Matcha that had a good balance between vanilla and matcha, topped with creamy foam that tasted just like French vanilla. My order was ready within a reasonable amount of time, and I was able to sit down with my sibling while we waited. All in all, a place everyone should try at least once. read more

It was my first time visiting here and I ordered the Banana Matcha. The matcha wasn't too overwhelming and the flavors complimented each other nicely. The interior was also very pretty and they had a lot of little knick knacks you could buy as well. Can't wait to come back. read more
Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got to visit. Cozy and charming matcha spot in Downtown Ontario. Tried the Fresas con Matcha and Sea Salt Caramel Matcha. The muddled strawberries really shined through but you could still taste the creamy matcha. Sea Salt Caramel was delicious as well. I would definitely ask for less sweet so you get more of the matcha flavor. read more

The matcha quality is just as good as anything in LA! The monkey matcha one was by far my favorite because they make their banana foam in house! Double matcha is very good if you're looking for that straightforward matcha taste! The service is excellent everyone seems to enjoy their job hahaha :))) read more
Solid matcha. Solid options. Staff is super nice and the store is very clean. I came back to back days since my friends saw my story and wanted to try it too. Both the regular iced matcha latte and the strawberry matcha (Fresas Con Matcha) were good and it's fairly priced at around $7-8 after tax. This is just one of many photos I've taken here. I love this place so much! The employees are always super friendly and it's good matcha that is finalllyyy nearby. The inside is small but decorated very cute! I come at least once every two weeks, sometimes at least once a week. I take everyone I know here and they all love the place! I will say I am a little bias as I've consistently ordered the banana matcha and nothing else BUT it's all I need here, it's so good and welcoming! read more

Very limited parking in lot adjacent to business but you might need to park on the street which isn't too bad. Cute girly aesthetics matcha shop, what more can you ask for. They have a bench built into the nook of the shop looking out to the street. Limited seating, more of a grab and go shop. Service is quick but accurate and great! They had 4 staff working on a Sunday afternoon to ensure your order comes out quick. They also make custom cookies. You can inquire with them and if they don't have the cookie cutter shape you're looking for they will also custom make that. Their website is currently starting at $65/dozen for printed cookies, $75/dozen for hand piped designs. One dozen is their minimum. Great for bachelorette, birthdays and other celebrations! Their lattes come with oat milk by default. But they also have almond and whole milk. Matcha/ Hojicha Latte -come unsweetened. They offer honey or agave for $0.75 charge. Hojicha Latte -I opted for agave at 50% sweetened and it was perfectly sweetened. Oat milk to Hojicha ration is great, you can still taste the roasted flavors. Cookie Butter Matcha -drink is quite thick. Tons of crushed Biscoff cookie throughout. Cookie butter on bottom which comes up as you drink. I personally think it's a little sweet as the cookie butter comes up but still tolerable. Lavender Matcha -quite refreshing. Lavender ratio with matcha paired well together. My boyfriend ordered this, I don't usually like lavender but this was enjoyable. Monkey Matcha -banana paired well with matcha, tastes like real bananas than artificial flavoring. Slightly mixing the banana foam adds just the perfect texture of banana pudding almost. French Vanilla Matcha -oat milk overpowers the vanilla. It's more like matcha flavored oat milk in my opinion. Fresas con Matcha -is what you think strawberry and matcha mixed together would taste. Chunks of strawberry puree comes with it, adds good texture. Coconut Matcha -coconut lover's dream. Coconut pairs well with matcha. Quite light, doesn't feel heavy. read more

Matcha is my favorite drink. I have it everywhere. I especially miss having it in Thailand, where it's always available. This place reminds me of having it in Thailand. Except the customer service is even better, which is a high bar to clear. I'm normally very critical of customer service in California. I find it to be full of unaware, entitled, lazy folk who just don't want to do their jobs. Not so here. I'm one of those that likes to know everything that's inside of what I consume. That can be pretty annoying to some. Here they were very helpful in informing me how much sugar was in the lavender syrup (4 pumps = 25g; 4 pumps = 100% sweetness, so 1 pump is about 6.25g of sugar). I've been here about four times now and it's always been a seamless experience. It's also very affordable. read more
Stumbled upon this matcha place when I was having lunch nearby. The decor is super cute and the staffs were friendly. I got the coconut matcha, it looks great, but the taste of the matcha wasn't very strong, and not much of a coconut taste to it either. Maybe their other drinks are better? read more

This place is super cute and such a great addition to down town Ontario! As matchas popularity has grown over the year greenhouse matcha has nailed their recipes! The drinks are consistently good and service is amazing! I have been here a few times and I am always welcome with smiles . Thank you to Andre who made my drinks today! The inside is sooo cute! But not a lot of sitting room inside, but some outside (it's too hot for that). There are a bunch of cute accessories inside, the staff is so well trained. The matchas I got (cinnamatcha + double matcha was great), I forgot to add a sweetener to one of them so I enjoyed my dad's more. Overall I would definitely be back to try more! read more
