Been several times to this location. Not the best Griffon but this location definitely has the best atmosphere. Right along the water so always a delight, on nice days they have outdoor seating available with live music multiple nights a week. At Christmas I have recommended it to so many people, as it is unbelievably gorgeous with the decorations. Everywhere you look there are trees and garland and presents and bulbs hanging from the ceiling (definitely puts you in the Christmas spirit). The service has always been good, some better than others but that's every restaurant. The food is hit and miss . Maybe it's because I'm comparing it in my head to one of there other locations (Niagara Falls), but I have had equal good and not so good and nothing has lived up to the other location. Another visit and it was as great as the first. The service was amazing, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I really couldn't have asked for better. The kids tenders were huge and crispy, and oddly enough our little yelper chose the apple. She didn't eat it but I did and it was crispy and fresh. The bacon jam burger was cooked perfectly as were the fries. The surf and turf burger was a piled high and loaded with flavor. I'm a huge fan of goat cheese and it was the perfect combination with the crab cake. This was one of the Top 3 best burgers I've had in quite a while. We came here after a day at Niagara Falls. It was a Friday and they had fish specials. We tried a few dishes such as beer battered and one with crab. All were great. My daughter had the chicken tenders and she said they were the best ever. We also tried some of their beers and they were good too. The place is right next to the Niagara river so the views are nice and atmosphere is great. They had a live band that sounded good but we wanted some quiet so we ate inside. We stopped by on our way to Artpark. It was our first time at this location. Let me say it's beautiful and they have a gorgeous spot right on the water. It wasn't busy so we were seated and helped quickly. We ordered Tokyo burnouts and handmade chicken tenders which came with fries. Tokyo burnouts were good, came with a lot of pork and overall had a nice flavor. It was a decent size and I was full after. My only call out is that the pork was very smoky and it seemed like liquid smoke. Personally not my favorite because it feels very synthetic and then you aren't really getting a burnt end. My husband loved his chicken fingers. He said they were tasty, a generous portion and he was very happy they were homemade. Somehow we missed the Lewiston location moving to a more picturesque spot overlooking the Niagara River a few years ago. Not only is the location beautiful, but the food is great. We usually go the the original in Niagara Falls, but we'll probably come here instead, and more often. It was a cool rainy day when we visited so I was in the mood for poutine, one of my favorite comfort foods. I had it over the sour cream and cheddar cheese tater tots instead of fries. I've never really liked the seasoning on the fries. Plus I never finish my poutine, and the tots held up so much better than fries (from here or anywhere else) as a leftover. My husband loved his tenderloin medallions and asparagus over mashed potatoes. I tried their tiramisu stout. It's incredible, but very filling so I'm glad I ordered a smaller pour. My husband was impressed with his old fashioned and also enjoyed Purple Reign. I liked it, too, even though I usually don't enjoy gin based cocktails. I picked up on lavender more than anything, but it never crossed into soapy territory. Service was excellent. The view is great, even on a gray rainy day. read more

Our server was over shortly there after took our drink order and told us about the specials and the wild game burger that day. The wild game burger was wagyu beef; I really wouldn't consider that "wild game". I ordered the surf & turf burger with house fries and my boyfriend got the boneless wings. My burger was big as the crab cake on top of it was just as big as the burger. It however was undercooked from how I ordered it; much more like med than med-well. Also, it was kind of only luke warm. My fries were piping hot, however. I like how they come cuddled together in a cone to keep each other warm haha. My boyfriend's boneless wings came with ranch! Ranch! You don't serve ranch with any type of wings in the WNY area! The server hadn't come back to check on how everything was, so I went to the bar to inquire about blue cheese, which they did have and it was brought out to us. We split the crab pretzel bomb appetizer which was fantastic and not as rich as I thought it would be considering it was pretzel bites soaked in cheese and cream! Definitely still recommend for a group but I was happy it wasn't as heavy as it could have been while still being tasty. I got the dumpling crunch salad with tofu. The salad greens were wilted, and brown on some edges. The avocado was overripe and dark brown and mushy, looked like it had been in the fridge sliced up the day before. Opted to try out the fish on a Friday evening which was breaded and huge, paired this with thick stalks of asparagus and those great beers. A local salon recommended we try the Griffin for something a little bit more upscale than what is offered near our air bnb. We weren't disappointed. This was a spectacular find. We did a boat tour on the Maid of the Mist and the guy recommended going to Lewiston for some great, non-chain, food locations. We found this on yelp with good reviews so we checked it out. The restaurant is right on the water, up high with great views, and a fantastic atmosphere. But the food is the real winner here... Huge portions, priced very modestly, and amazing quality and taste to the food. MaKenna was our server. She was super sweet, on point, and very attentive. And it appeared that all the servers were happy, with smiles, and attentive to their tables! Everyone was super friendly! My first time going here did not disappoint. The royal steak was one of the best steaks I've ever had. It's expensive, coming in at $66 but it was so worth it. The chef that cooked it deserves a medal. It was cooked to a Perfect medium rare. The stuffed pepper cheese was amazing, pepper was a bit under cooked, but it actually paired well with everything on the plate. The salmon was light and delicious. Our waitress was actually on her last day training and I would have had no idea if she didn't tell us. So props to her! My family's favorite place during our entire Buffalo/Niagara Falls trip! We came on a Sunday during a Bills game so they had some great gameday specials including $.50 boneless wings. The boneless wings were massive and a great deal. I got the beef on weck with fries and really enjoyed it. Dipping in the au jus really gives it superb flavor. The Duck wings, yes I said Duck, were fire. The poutine was equally delicious. They have a game of the day burger- game as in Animal. Today's was venison- absolute Fire! Made to perfection with to many toppings to list. I'd highly recommend it. Live band on a Monday night was playing some good jams, but the rain caught up to them and they had to break down. I was having a horrible and I didn't even want to eat, but my tummy was rumbling so I came here and if only one thing went right that day, it was a good dinner here. My cons here was that I was a bit cold and it was very noisy. Otherwise, service was great from start to finish and the ambience was nice (other than the noise). Had a nice view of the water and sunset. I ordered the mania steak and it was divine. I only wish there was a little more steak on it but otherwise it was really delicious. I'm not big on fries but I did enjoy these. I would come here again, maybe a little earlier in the day to see if it's a little quieter (there's a bar and an open dining area with it so I'm sure that attributed to a lot of the noise). read more
