We found this little gem while on a long road trip from Colorado - the reviews and the pics lured us in. We got here right at 11 and soon after, the place filled up fast. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The staff looked busy - we were given a very friendly greeting by them as well, anyway. We each ordered the Green Chile Cheeseburger and split an order of curly fries. The tea that came out before the meal was done right. When our food came out it was exactly what we needed. The burgers were done up perfectly and the combination of green chiles and cheese took it to another level entirely. The burger was super juicy - not too big yet full of flavor. The buns had some sweetness to them that perfectly balanced with the bite from the chiles. The food was amazing. The burger, the fries - perfectly cooked and hot on the table. The setting - rustic, full of character, old yet modern. Not that I am in a rush to go on a 10 hour drive again, but if I had to do one, The Grill would fit right into my plans. read more

What a surprise! Stopped in on our way back from Phoenix to Kansas City, and glad we did! It's not much to look at from the outside, but the burgers are among the best we've had. My wife and I shared their green chile bacon cheese burger with a Jalapeño bun and onion rings. I also had a cherry limeade to wash it down. It was all absolutely delicious and the place has character like a throwback diner. The staff was friendly and ready to serve. Wow! Very yummy, we had the green chilli, bacon cheese burger and split an order of curly fries. The bun was perfectly toasted i light crunch as you took a bite. The over flavor was wonderful. Burgers and fries were very good. This place is very small and off of the main road. We got there about 12:45 one day, and it was packed!! Cleared out by 1:15 or so. Worst thing is probably bathrooms - you walk by the cook and the grill to get to restroom. It is literally right by kitchen. That was strange and kind of nasty. The Grill is a quaint little restaurant that features friendly table service, pretty tasty comfort food fare...if you don't mind paying premium rates. Seating is fairly limited...I'm writing this review the next day and didn't think to count seats but I would estimate seating at 30, including half a dozen stools at the "bar". I had a bacon cheese burger (reportedly 6 oz patty but I'd argue it was not that large), fries, a sweet tea and a medium chocolate Oreo milkshake. Food was obviously fresh but took 20+ minutes to arrive. Including a standard 15% tip, my total was $22.43. That's much too high for a small Mom-and-Pop in a small town, no matter the quality. I believe the burger, without fries, was $6.75 and the shake was apparently $5+. This is as high or higher than Fuddruckers and Twisted Root...and The Grill is neither. Summary: Food and service was probably above average but so are their prices = 3 of 5 stars in my book. read more

Decided to give it a try based on the reviews. Coming back from Dallas to Denver, at a gymnastics meet with my daughter. We were starved as we had been on the road for 7 hours. Beware of the long wait! My friend and I stopped by this restaurant for lunch on our way to New Mexico. We were starving and weren't picky of where to eat at. There were a few cars parked outside so we assumed it should be somewhat decent. We walked in, saw an empty table and sat down. Our server quickly walked over to take our orders. The menu was on the wall above the counter and was easy to read. Our server was a lovely young lady who was not at all afraid of telling us what we should/shouldn't get. We ended up ordering our food swiftly because we were in a rush. Twenty minutes passed and still no food. The only thing that arrived was the smell of food that belonged to other patrons. Finally, they put in our orders. Total wait time for food was thirty minutes. If you go through the drive-thru, you will probably get your food 10x faster. Our food was pretty decent. They are slow, and we were the only ones there right at 11am. The burger was decent. The burrito was marginal at best. The waitperson was friendly and kind with our to go order. She wore a mask below her nose which was more than anyone else there because no other kitchen/wait staff or guests wore masks (other than us). You have to access the one bathroom through the kitchen and there is no paper towels and the air dryer does not work. There are two door handles to handle after using the bathroom. If you have any concerns about Texas being a covid hotspot, this is surely a place to avoid. read more

We had the what's it burgers which is double burgers but then we added green chili salsa along with jalapeños, lettuce and changed the American cheese to Swiss for me while hubby chose pepper Jack. We started with fried pickles which wasn't too salty. Pleasantly surprised that they were spears and not chips. I got French fries which were good while hubby got onion rings. The onion rings were okay but hubby likes his freshly made and not from a bag so he was disappointed. Overall though the highlights are the hamburgers and fries as well as the fried pickles.
