Came out here while in the area to get some burgers and enjoy the view. My husband and I both got the cheddar burger, medium well. Staff was friendly, and the wait wasn't too long. I am a sports fan so it was nice to have something to watch while waiting for our food and while we ate, but I was a little disappointed the sound was muted and they had no subtitles. I had to use the restroom while we waited and I found it to be clean. Our food came in a timely manner and we got to enjoying our burgers, which we both loved. We travel down from Connecticut to Central Florida for Spartan races. After the race, we wanted barbecue. This place popped up on Google with great reviews and looked legit, so we stopped in. The place was packed, but for just the two of us we were seated very quickly. Inside and outside both looked great. Clean everywhere--including the bathroom, which matters more than people admit. The two young ladies hosting were very friendly and even took a minute to ask about the race after noticing our Spartan shirts. Small thing, but it stood out. Our waitress was excellent--fast, attentive, and on top of everything without hovering. We started with onion rings. Very good. The dipping sauce was outstanding. I had the half roasted chicken with a sweet potato and fries. Fries were seasoned perfectly. The sweet potato was cooked exactly right, and the honey butter they serve with it is a great touch. My buddy got a rib combo and had zero complaints. Two meals and an appetizer for about $50, no alcohol. Worth every dollar. For the locals: you're lucky to have a place this solid. We'll absolutely be back next time we're in the area for a Spartan. read more

-Family run, comfort food, at its best!- These fine folks have been causing quite a stir in the county! Let's see how they are doing roughly 5 months after opening. Arriving- They are in the old Sonny's BBQ directly on US Route 27 South so getting there is a snap. The parking lot is adequate but tough when it gets busy. Note that they are open 7 days for lunch and dinner. Pro Tip- The Handicapped parking spots are unusually far away from the entrance. If you can, consider dropping off an impaired dining partner at the door prior to parking. Ambience- The inside has been completely remodeled with calming grey & black tones. There are high-tops, 2 and 4 tops, and booths. Even after five months it is immaculate. Wi-Fi- The system is there but there is NO customer Wi-Fi! Shame on them! Adult Libations- Beer and wine. I asked about red wine choices and was told Merlot or Cabernet. I chose Merlot and received a completely acceptable wine and a very large pour @$6 See my picture. Customer Service- The staff looks very comfortable in a uniform of jeans and black logo T-shirts. My service was 5-star with no complaints. A pleasant surprise is that many of the other servers smiled at me when they walked past! Food- American comfort food. Some folks call them a bbq joint as they offer ribs and pulled pork, but they have a broader menu then the typical "Q" joint. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich @$12. I chose Blackened but Lemon Pepper or plain were also available. It comes with one side from a huge list of 15 and I went with fries. Next time I'm trying Roasted Corn Salad @$3 as it looks amazing! It came out quickly and was plated nicely as you can see from my picture. Portion size was more than enough for lunch. It was a delicious meal! Most importantly the Blackened Chicken was nicely seasoned and still moist. The veges were perfectly fresh. The fries were drool worthy. A nice crunch on the outside, soft in the middle and not greasy. Someone in the kitchen knows how to run a fryer! Pro Tip- Although I did not sample it, folks are saying that if you chose beef as your protein, it was not what they expected. Maybe check out some pics before you order. We met another couple for dinner. It was our first visit. Our friends had eaten here the night before and highly recommended it. We went on the Saturday of the restaurants soft opening. The place was hopping but the staff was calm and organized. We were greeted with smiles and seated promptly at a booth. Our servers name was Don. He had multiple tables to wait on but he was attentive to us. He informed us that the kitchen had many orders to fill and we might need to wait longer than expected for our meal. We understood and appreciated his honesty. We told Don that we were not in a hurry. There are three tv's in the immediate dining area. Several decorations of fish are mounted along the booths. Three high top tables are placed against the wall that is decorated with framed photographs of various people showcasing their catch. The owner stopped at various tables to ask if customers were pleased with their food. She actually bused our table when we finished our meal with a smile on her face. Our table ordered the two meat combo plate. Choices include turkey, pulled pork, chicken or beef and choice of two side. Also ordered was the pulled pork plate which includes two sides. We opted for side salads, roasted corn, mac 'n cheese and a sweet potato. Everything was delicious! The portions are large and priced very reasonably. There is not a full bar but beer & wine are available. I ordered a glass of red wine priced at $6.00. It was a nice pour. There was a continuous stream of people coming thru the door. I heard Don inform a nearby table that the kitchen had run out of baked potatoes. The temperature of the room felt a bit warm and the women's bathroom needed some tidying but I understand the restaurant was filled to capacity. I have no doubt these kinks will work themselves out for the better. We all had a very enjoyable evening and plan to return very soon. I highly recommend Grill at Lake Jackson. I met up with family visiting from NJ and we chose The Grill on the Lake from the website for lunch. Upon arrival, parking in the rear of the restaurant was a bit crowded but that told me that people were eating there. Our waitress was Chloe, who was outstanding with explaining everything and keeping our drinks refreshed. I had a good grilled chicken sandwich which was big enough that it was hanging out of the bun. My brother in law had a burger and he said it was great. We had some tasty appetizers also. We were too full for dessert! Sebring is our meeting place between Tampa and West Palm Beach where I live and we will continue to go to The Grill on the Lake when we go back to Sebring. read more

The whole experience really wasn't very pleasant. 5 employees saw us waiting to be seated, we could see plenty of tables, and it still took too long before we were greeted, let alone seated. When the waitress took our order, she deleted one of them and had to ask a 3rd time what it was we wanted. Soup and salad were brought at the same time for one person, even though the waitress even said the salad normally comes out with the meal. We did not enjoy the corn fritters, I know every place makes them differently but they weren't good here. My burger was undercooked, the pulled pork was cold, and none of the food was seasoned. I had the "Swiss burger" and it came with mushrooms. As you can see from the menu, there's no description so you don't know what comes in your food. My father in law is allergic to mushrooms, they need to be stated on the menu. This used to be Sonny's bbq, the weren't very good either. The place looked basically the same, there was a fresh coat of paint, some fishing pictures on the wall and fish statues (I don't understand the theming other than it being by a lake?). The waitress never asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks, another employee brought boxes and we asked her for the check because we hadn't seen our waitress in a while and the girl said she's not a waitress so she can't get it for us and walked away. This was our second time dining here. We had a great experience the first time and we were looking forward to our dinner. Party of 6, approximately 4:00pm and we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server arrived soon after and took our drink order. Drinks came but the server stood at the end of the table and had us pass our drinks down the table. At this same time took our order. The salads were delivered in the same manner, the server stood at the end of the table and had us pass the food down to those having salad. There was plenty of room for the server to get around the table, so no reason for the passing game. When our entrees arrived they were served by 2 young men. Again, they stood at the end of the table passing the plates across the table. At one point plate of hot food was almost dropped on another persons lap. This type of service is unacceptable to say the least. All the meals appeared to be perfectly prepared but 1. The Grilled Mahi came out over cooked you couldn't cut it with a knife. Had to flag down another server to find our server. She returned and offered to remake or bring another choice of food. Again she stood at the end of the table, so we had to pass the plate to her. When the replacement meal arrived, you guessed it, we had played pass the plate! No attempt to apologize, had to wait while the others were eating. This experience was quite different from our previous visit. It is really a shame, the food is really good especially the ribs and other smoked meats. Training in the service industry is key to good service. Put the plate down in front of the customer, don't hand it to them. read more

I swapped it for a Sprite, the unfortunately "safe" choice, which also had a funny taste. Ordered a full rack of ribs, fries and fried mushrooms. It was ready at the time requested. A full rack!! Tender and full of flavor. A whole bunch of fried mushrooms and sauce. Very good. This place has potential,we have been here 4 times since they opened. Salads should be served cold and in cold serving bowls. Add more protein to the menu, we have had the turkey, chicken ,and the ribs all were good the sliced beef needs help. You call yourself a grill where is the steak ? Also address your sides last night i got the turkey with Lima beans and a sweet potato it was good but the sweet potato was the size of a large egg . Sunday lunch at the Grill was a wonderful experience. The complete renovation of the restaurant provides a warm, comfortable backdrop for an outstanding meal served most efficiently. I had lunch on my birthday at your restaurant I had the turkey plate which was good but the only thing I was disappointed with there was no turkey gravy, when I asked they said there was no gravy that came with it, otherwise the meal was great the service was great a clean friendly atmosphere, the server was prompt friendly and professional. We went in last night 8/9 to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were a party of 5 adults and a child.
