Is crazy how you can visit a place like this and have a great time and meet good people. I came all the way from miami to the middle of nowhere and wish I can stay longer. The bartender was so nice. She was good to talk to.

I"m with the prior reviewer. It's a seedy, divey bar with ash trays at every seat so you can smoke until your heart's... um.. content?? It's right off the highway in a small town and it may be the only place open in these parts... for some reason. It has a nice long bar, plenty of seating, a juke box, a pool table and a dart board. The lady bartending was very sweet, very polite and made our beers enjoyable enough. We got there to a juke box playing Chris Stapleton and it moved on quickly to hip-hop from there. Probably around 8-10 people total for the 10pm slot we arrived. I think this venue could be SO much more, especially with a great name like that and with an open air side patio. This place could attract an awesome and friendly crowd damn near every Thur to Sun in my meaningless opinion. Lose the smoke and really live up to the name. I'd like to see this place be different, not just a place to sell a beer. There's no competition in these parts and I'm sure there's a lot of people wanting to go somewhere with a great vibe and atmosphere... but, maybe I'm so very wrong.

This place was one of the best dive bars I've ever went to. The staff was so friendly even the patrons were super friendly. My boyfriend and I were on a road trip at the time and the patrons bought us beers! Haha the drinks were super cheap we just stopped in because we were driving by the little tiny bar and we were curious. Will definitely visit back here we had a blast.

    Y'come back right on.....

Great service, check (Ted & Liz were AWESOME). Thinking about becoming a regular at 1845 Tap House. For food, they have a limited menu, and also food trucks. I stumbled into 1845 Tap House on a Friday night after a long day at work without expectations. This is the part where I say, "and then I fell in love." They have a great selection of liquor and craft beer on draft. And they even have food. And did I mention the drinks are super reasonable. Wanted to set a tent up outside and stay, but I am sure that is not allowed. There was a guy on guitar crooning. Oh, and their house beers are awesome. The BEER: 1845 Shape Shifring Lizard IPA 6.3% ABV... OMG, this IPA is slightly juicy and well balanced. 1845 We Wants the Red Head red ale 5% ABV... this red ale is an all day Irish Red. Delicious. 1845 Drop the Puck imperial hazy IPA 9.8% ABV... so very good, juicy and sneaky, because 2 or 3 of these and you will be Ubering home. 1845 Secret Stash imperial Stout 10% ABV... like coffee, semi sweet dark chocolate and a hint of peanut butter. This is a better version of Sweet Baby Jesus, if you are familiar. FIRE!!!! And I found out why the draft here is exceptional. Their brewer is Florida Ave out of Tampa. So if you are in Davenport and looking for a good time, definitely stop at 1845 Tap House.

They have a great beer selection and staff was very friendly! Will definitely be back next time…read moreI'm in the area.

So I am slightly confused. I already did a review for Port 27, I guess this is a new page. To be…read moreclear, Port 27 is a venue which has a brewery with its namesake Port 27. There in lies some of the confusion on my part because my last review I guess was for the brewery and not the venue, but I kinda reviewed it in its entirety. So here I go again. Port 27 is a lakeside destination with iconic views, good eats, a great brewery and eclectic shops. I have been here more times than I can count. It is quite convenient as it is less than a 5 minute drive from my house. And the bike ride isn't bad either on a Sunday when it's not too hot. So I have been here in the evening on the weekend with live music. They host events like runs, and there is even a comedy show. Port 27 is both kid friendly, and pet friendly. There are plenty of places to sit and there is a kind of kids area as well. Most of the major events are hosted on the outside stage. The shops: Antica Trattoria has some of the best pizza in Florida. It is popular and stays packed, yet they get the pizza out pretty quickly. There is a fair amount of seating inside. And, there are places throughout Port 27 to leave your pizza boxes when you are done. Van de Walle has great coffee and awesome desserts and the staff and service are on par with the coffee and desserts. They roast their own beans in house and make all of the desserts in house. You can purchase their coffee and theybwill grind it for you to your preference. Port 27 the brewery is a bit cloistered and on a busy evening or the weekends, the lines can be a little much. But the wait is well worth it because the beer is quite awesome. The servers are passionate about the beer and you can get samples, but when it is super busy you should just jump in to respect the patrons behind you. There are also burgers, tacos, ice cream, arts and crafts, candles and a shop that has vinyl records. Every time I go it is always a new adventure and somehow I never get bored. If you are in Polk County Florida and looking for something to occupy the whole family, Port 27 is a great option. But don't take my word, see it for yourself.

The bartender gave us some pointers and then gave us a minute to decide. A sample or two then decisions were made. The IPA was delicious and my wife got a cocktail that was gone pretty quickly. Use the QR codes to order food. They bring it to you from the various spots around the property. Nachos came first. Ask for two sets of silverware and extra napkins. You will need them. It was really good but really messy. I was hungry when we ordered. Should have waited. The nachos filled us. That bruschetta was taken home and devoured while watching a movie. Great friendly bartender. Nice quiet atmosphere with lots of conversations going on around us. We're coming back when the weather is better.

Looking at the reviews already posted makes this place seem bipolar. Maybe it has everything to do with the day of the week, the cooks/chefs on staff and/or managers/wait staff present. This was a Saturday, so.... The better half wanted to sit indoors and the DIL outdoors. A compromise was made and the table selected was in between. The service was exceptional by our waitress (I wish we could recall her name). A solo musician played mellow music and had good vocals. Very relaxing atmosphere. All the food ordered was tasty and abundant. The highlight was the Grouper sandwich the better half raved about, even the day after she was talking about it. The meals came with a tasty brown bread and house salad, which was a nice addition. The drinks were not watered down and well made, at a price point that was quite acceptable. We all look forward to returning; but it may need to another Saturday if that's when they have the A-Team working.

The…read moreoverall vibe was chaotic, hot, humid, and sub-par cleanliness with profanity-laced dollar bills stapled all over. Florida! I'm certain the condiment bottles in scattered baskets never get cleaned. I never leave poor reviews, but potential guests must be warned of this place. My elderly aunt and I arrived at 4:10pm after driving an hour to this place for a late lunch. It was Father's Day, so the place was packed and busy. So busy, that the wait staff were frantically running around the place. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a young hostess who looked as if she were in a total daze. We were told there would be a wait, though an approximate time was not given, so we decided to saddle up to the bar outside which was filthy with wet coasters and squeezed lime wedges and trash littered all over the floor. When we were finally texted that our table was ready, at 4:50pm, we were sat outside at a table with a dirty ashtray. We placed our order and waited for another 30 minutes for a two salads and bread (served with "butter", which was really an oily margarine with herbs). Only one salad made it to the table, and the fried pickles were brought 10 minutes before my salad was served with nervous laughter by our waitress. The manager did come to our table to apologize for our waiting, so I politely requested a free beer for our trouble, which was denied. I work at a brewery and give free draft beer if someone has to wait more than 5 minutes! So, she offered a cheesecake instead, which we thanked her for (and which costs their business more than a free draft pour, but I digress). Another 25 minutes pass, which places us at 5:45pm, over 1.5 hours past our arrival. The food finally comes to the table. I placed two orders for hushpuppies, but only one order made it to the table. They were not very good at all. My aunt ordered shrimp with cocktail sauce, but it wasn't cocktail sauce. It was salsa! The waitress explained to us that seating had recently been expanded, but the kitchen staff had not, which was more than obvious. In the end, our food was comped 100%, but the poor experience really ruined our appetite, so we didn't finish our food. While we did have some beers and a cocktail, at no point were we offered water, and the free cheesecake the polite yet condescending manager offered never made it to the table. They didn't have the good sense to tell folks at the door that the wait time was closer to an hour, completely overwhelming themselves instead of taking care of the large parties that were already dining. Gators aren't the only thing to beware of at Cherry Pocket!

The previous owners were famous state-wide for their Slaw Burgers! Folks drove 100 miles to buy them! They literally sold them for decades. The new owners insured it lives on! Arriving- Teeny tiny Frostproof is a straight shot, about 5 miles, off US Route 27. You end up on Main Street where these guys are located. Free street parking and more free parking around the side. Ambience- A beautiful remodel with lots of wood. A long straight bar with comfortable stools with backs. A just the right height, tiled foot railing makes for a comfortable bar experience. Behind the bar is mounted a long line of huge TVs for your viewing pleasure. It's an awesome place to watch a game! See my picture. Of course there are also tables, booths, and even pool tables. TouchTunes & Wi-Fi- I recommend the App for using the juke box. In this part of Florida, you can expect a lot of classic rock and country. You need a password for the Wi-Fi and its typical retail speed. Adult Libations- Full bar plus 12 taps. I enjoyed a Space Dust IPA. It was 8.2% APV, ice cold and delicious. Customer Service- Five stars! I enjoyed a great bartender/server that was friendly and efficient. Food- American bar & casual food. Lots of fried food and a great variety of sandwiches. I went with the iconic Slaw Burger & Fries along with my IPA and it was $18 pre-tip. It came out quickly, piping hot and with unique plating. Juicy and savory with the added snap of the slaw. Add nicely cooked fries and it was a superior lunch. Conclusion- If you are traveling through Highlands County, divert here for a great lunch or dinner. Highly recommended if you're watching a sporting event!
