    Seafood Tower
    Jeff T.

Well, where to start. Let's go with service. This was second to none! Our server was Ben and I cannot compliment this young man enough. It was not just him either, this is a team model and they work like a well oiled machine from Maddie to the manager, everyone chips in. We have a very old drink we like called the Jack Rose and it is hard to find, but Ben went to the bartenders and asked and they looked up the recipe and made a pretty good version with what they had on hand. It is more common to hear, No, sorry we don't have that. Not here. Let's go next with ambiance. This is the epitome of the great elegant steakhouse with dark woods, a fireplace and great wines. Beyond the incredible service is the food. We ordered the seafood tower and the foie gras mousse to start. Prior to service, Ben told us that the clams and mussels did not meet their standards and they would be adding extras of the other items. And they did. Not only were the substitutes more than adequate, this was some of the best seafood! We have eaten seafood towers all over and this was hands down, the best! It was like they were devastated they had no clams and mussels and they went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. For the foie gras mousse, this was the only item I wasn't wowed by. It was by no means bad, I just felt that it was lacking that deep, rich flavor that foie gras is known for. I have had Canadian beef before and there are no complaints. However, being from Texas, I am very picky about beef. They only had grass fed beef here and I am just not a fan. However, they had two Waygu options available and I chose the filet. As expected, it was melt in your mouth delicious! It was served with a Madeira wine reduction on the side. While delicious, this steak required no sauce, as it should be. For sides, we got the BC Mushrooms which accompanied the steak perfectly. The rock star side was the kale, prosciutto, and cream gremolatta. We are usually creamed spinach lovers but they did not offer that and therefore we tried this dish. I will just say this dish was amazing! I can't believe there are not more ravings about this place on Yelp.

Went to Barefoot Bistro in Whistler and it was such a nice night…read more Service was honestly next level. Everyone was so attentive and friendly, and it just made the whole experience feel a lot more special. We went all in and got the seafood tower, Pemberton potato soup, elk, some wine, and dessert. The seafood tower was really fun to share and everything came out fresh and well done. The potato soup was super comforting, and the elk was cooked really nicely. Nothing felt like a miss. They also have a wine cellar with a ton of bottles, which was really cool to check out and added to the whole experience. It is definitely on the pricier side, but being in Whistler that kind of comes with it. Overall it felt worth it for the experience, especially with how great the service was.

It's rare to find round table for more than five people that is spacious with lots of room in between tables. We had the fixed lobster menu, which consisted of four courses. Wow, each dish wasn't beautifully presented from the Big Eye Tuna to the lobster and Pistachio Financier. The taste was very elegant. This place is great for couples as well as big groups. There's also a bar area with a real live piano player playing. This place also had the cold Vodka room if you wanted to try the experience.

I normally wouldn't leave this review, but they have a really great breakfast buffet! Drinks included coffee, milk, juice, and pressed cold juices. They have your usual breads and pastries, but notable things include the yogurt bar, quality of the fruit, the omelette / egg station, and the changing hot dishes (waffles, pancakes, frittatas, seasoned hash browns, etc). Service is very friendly and attentive despite most people getting the buffet. It was a really pleasant breakfast and also incredibly convenient if you're staying at the Westin and trying to hit the slopes early! Note: the line can be longer around 7:30-8am, especially on peak days.

Interestingly enough, nobody used the outdoor patio which provides a great view of the mountain. Maybe it's only open in the evenings. Came here to try their brunch. Was told it was expensive but worth it. The food was tasty. All the fruits and vegetables were fresh. The eggs Benedict were crisp. Bacon and sausages weren't too greasy which was nice. They also make custom omelettes but I didn't try. Special mention to their blueberry pancakes. For those who don't do the buffet, they do have regular food options. However, the options can quickly surpass the buffet price if one wants to try multiple items. Also, we were told the "served" items are less customized and fancy. In other words, just do the buffet. Though my wallet hurt, my friends and I left happy and stuffed. I'd eat here again. Recommended.

They have some bar-height tables made out of some barrels - I would not sit here. Service Quality: Staff was attentive and knew the menu well. They recommend getting a wide variety of dishes since it is tapas. Menu Variety: Great selection of spanish tapas. There's fish, meat, seafood, veggies - there is something for everyone. You won't find the lesser known tapas here - just the main popular ones we all know. Food Presentation: Simple, nothing crazy here. Plated with intention. Food Taste and Quality: Food came to the table hot and fresh out of the kitchen. Some of the patatas bravas were a bit undercooked - for me there was a bit too much sauce here. They also have the shishito peppers here - even though 1 out of 10 are spicy, it was more like 5 out of 10 were spicy. Luckily they were all grilled to perfection. The cod fritters were great, would order again. Portion Sizes: You'll need to order at least 5 dishes for a table of 2. Drink Selection: Simple cocktail menu with a spanish twist to them - if you really want to call it a "spanish cocktail". Price and Value: Good value for money, priced just right. Overall Experience and Recommendation: Make sure you make a reservation cause if not you'll be waiting and by the time you look for another restaurant for dinner - everything will be closed (cause its Bowen Island). I tried it, I would try the other restaurants on the island first before coming back.

Spanish tapas style, we ordered about 6 dishes and bread and we were pretty full. Also sangria. Food was fantastic, everything we ordered had so much flavor, my favourite was the orzo salad and the shrimp. A little surprise that Bowen Island had this little gem. Due to Covid protocols only patio was open, which worked fine for us, also set up socially distance. Great service. Recommend you making reservation, we didn't but came right when they opened lucked out with a table. It got pretty busy 15 minutes after we arrived. Overall, I was very impressed. We will be back!
