The hostess was friendly, but our server killed our experience. Her words were friendly but her facial expressions and body language revealed how much she disliked serving us. My husband and I spoke after, we both felt she was probably racist. Their happy hour menu had a big selection of food items but no drinks. Everything was pretty expensive for happy hour. We tried the raw Albertan elk tartare and potato puffs. We enjoyed both dishes and the portions were big. We have been here three times, first time fantastic, second was great, third was for me a definite meh and with all the fantastic restaurants in Whistler, there is no compelling reason to return . Though the restaurant was largely empty when we arrived, we were sat at a booth that at best sat 4 and was not enough for the 5 in our group. We tend to eat lots of appetizers rather than one big meal so I knew the table would not work - we asked to be moved and the server was quite confrontational - she eventually agreed to move us to one of two larger tables that was available the whole time we were there! But it was a weird start and had we not already ordered drinks and it been a Saturday night with most places booked - I would have walked as I don't ever recall been talked to like that in a restaurant and my guess is they moved us in time to stop us leaving. She also told us that she would stagger courses appropriately- that never happened. Pretty much everything arrived at once which I wondered if it was an attempt to flip the table quickly for other large parties - who were not exactly lining up in abundance. The other large table sat empty even after we left. It arrived so, so fast I would guess that a lot of it was pre prepared and just heated up as multiple plates were brought out less than 10 minutes of ordering. Also most of the appetizers and salad arrived last so they seemingly did not know or care to course appropriately. We also ended up stacking dishes at the end of the table as they were not removed- though to be fair, they appeared to be woefully understaffed . Food had some hits and some misses .The meat eaters loved the chicken, the shishito peppers were excellent, , watermelon salad was good, potatoes croquettes were a shadow of their former selves and needed more flavor , mussels were okay and the Creme brûlée was gritty! There's a lot of restaurants within Whistler so it's easy to only try the four and five star ones with a ton of reviews, but in doing so you'd be missing out. This restaurant is just off the lobby of the Pan Pacific but is far better than a typical hotel restaurant. Ambience is nice - indoor/outdoor dining with lots of nooks outside to feel like it's more secluded. Service is friendly and prompt. Great drink selection - from fun tiki drinks to more sophisticated cocktails, wine, beers. The food is the real stand out though - vegetable forward, fresh, with great sauces. The Raven Room holiday pop-up bar is not to be missed. Every inch of the space is decked out in holiday cheer. Elf would be proud. We came here for an early dinner and missed happy hour, which is from 3-5pm each day. They also have a late happy hour from 10pm-midnight. Our server was great and chatty, reading the table well by leaving us alone at the right times. Although there were a lot of good options on the menu, we ended up not getting an appetizer as none of us were super hungry since it was such an early dinner. For my entree, I had the beef tenderloin with the blue cheese chimichurri, which was unique and was a good blend of ingredients. Those ingredients, by the way, all tasted fresh and there was a decent amount of meat. The yam puree went well with the dish and was a good contrast to the tart flavors of the blue cheese. This place is hard to find if you don't know where to look. Go into the front door of the Pan Pacific Hotel, then go directly right, from behind the front desk. We got a same-day reservation for 5 people at 5pm on our last evening in Whistler. We were greeted courteously and sat immediately. It wasn't busy when we arrived (5pm), but it looks like a vibe. The ambient background music is a kind of funk track? Wasn't too loud, though. Parking: Whistler day lots are free after 5pm, with $1/hr level 2 charging for the first 5 hours (then it's free?) over in day lot 1. I ended up paying only $1.27 CAD for 20 minutes before it became complementary at 5pm. We ordered the small eggplant, croquette, potato balls for starters... For bigs we ordered 2 duck breast, 2 beef wellington and 1 beef bourgignon. We also got the mascarpone creme brulee to share for dessert. For drinks, we ordered two Get Lelay'd, two beers (lager and stout), the butter me up, and a non-alcoholic drink. Overall, worth visiting. I have to start out my review thanking the wonderful staff here for being very accommodating and packing up our remaining tasting menu courses when we had to leave unexpectedly. They have an extensive drink menu but less than 20 food items, with half of the menu consisting of small plates. We ordered a bunch of appies and mains to share amongst a large table. The spicy fried Thai chicken, Beef Tenderloin tartare, and potato puffs were meh - chicken breading was too thick and you can barely taste the dry chicken. Stand out dishes were Whipped feta tzatziki, Pacific Scallop ceviche, Cinnamon Spiced Churros, Moroccan Grilled Australian Lamb Chops, and Squamish Harvested Mushroom Risotto with foie gros. Wish we could give all the employees a 10 star review! The Raven Room is nestled into the corner of our hotel. It is fully decorated for Christmas.. and I'm talking head to toe. The specialty drinks come in adorable glassware and the one food item we tried was small but incredibly tasty. We could have easily ordered more to eat however we opted to drink more instead. We are headed back later tonight for our goodbye cocktails and to grab a few of the specialty cups to take home with us. Was a total hidden gem. Got it as a recommendation from someone after I ordered a good drink from them (my favorite sazerac). And sure enough I found the best sazerac drink I've had (split base angels envy sazerac) here. It's not cheap but it is worth it if you like a good drink. It's worth taking a little time to talk to the bartenders what you're looking for because they can make great drinks. Food is also really good. Tried the baba ganoush, potato puffs, and chocolate mousse. I'm not sure I'd eat dinner here with the kids though. It's a little loud and happening. They do let kids and families in for dinner before a certain time I think. Next time I may have to try the loaded poutine (beef and foie gras whoa!). The appetizers seemed amazing but I didn't see anyone eating dinner (maybe because I also came a lot later). It's in the pan pacific whistler centre and they're so friendly they are fine if you come downstairs and just want to sit at the bar. I tried not to sit by the bar until it got late because I may have come down in my sort of pajamas and slippers so waited till all the cool people left. Jay and Steph were incredibly friendly and Steph encouraged me to just come in and sit down in the bar, even though I was in a post putting the kids to bed in my pajamas mode...very welcoming and friendly! I mostly didn't want to take up space in the cool bar since I was by myself. It gets crowded so make reservations if you have a group and want to check it out. I think they open at 3pm for apres. Great ambience that you can't tell you're in a hotel bar unless you walk outside to use the bathroom or something. Once you walk inside the bar it's a great vibe. Friendly, nice, not over the top fancy or totally grunge. Just very enjoyable place to chill with good food and drinks. A lot of folks are dressed to go out but it's not awful to come down in slippers and casual clothes while doing laundry. This place just turned 5 years old. Kind of cool to see it thriving and I hope to see it many more years. We've found the food in Whistler to be sub par thus far, especially for the price (but even price aside :/) Luckily my friend found The Raven Room in her in-depth food search, and it had great reviews on here, Google, and Reddit. So we had to try it. First of all, I'm gluten free and she has a peanut allergy. They were so accommodating and I could eat most of the menu, even the fried/ battered things! Win for gluten free eaters. The cauliflower dish is a MUST get-- Our favorite. I also got the pineapple rum dessert which was dairy free and lit on fire, delicious! The prices were great for everything we got, spending what we would on 2 dishes at another restaurant for 6 dishes here, including tip+tax. Also enjoyed the scallop crudo. Besides that, we got the chicken karage and salad which were okay, but still better than other options in the area. Overall, this is our favorite restaurant in Whistler! Tucked away at the end of a hallway on your right as you enter the Pan Pacific hotel, the decor (existing pictures have this covered) is unique, edgy, and fun. The place would serve well for an aprés hang out, but we went for dinner. I had heard that the place had an awesome bar so I was just a bit disappointed to find that there were only eight cocktails that they'd designed to feature on their menu. Could they make anything I wanted? Sure. Do I want to pick some standard drink I could get anywhere? No. The food was another story entirely. It was truly difficult to limit ourselves. Love the aesthetic here! We were lucky to get in with a group of 6 on a Thursday night. It was packed and lots of smaller parties were around. The food came out quick and started us off with beetroot tartare, Pacific scallop ceviche, raw beef tenderloin tartare, and grilled vegetables. Interesting take on beef tartare with roasted corn nuts added in. I preferred the beetroot tartare and felt all the components paired well together. I think I felt played when the grilled vegetables came out because it was broccoli and not broccolini as stated on the menu. There was carrots and shriveled kale... there was no charring from said "grilling" and overall it was bland. Some redeeming factors was the Squamish harvest mushroom risotto + seared foie gras which was my favorite. It was rich and creamy and foie gras added the perfect touch. The rest of my party was split between either the filet mignon + foie gras poutine or the Moroccan grilled Australian lamb chops + seared scallops being their favorite dishes. The poutine was great and the foie gras is in the gravy and it added a subtle richness which we all enjoyed. The lamb chops were juicy, tender, and cooked well. We had finished off our meal with churro with a chili dulce de leche sauce that was soooo good! The Forty Creek cream chocolate mousse was nice surprise with a hint of whisky flavor but not overpowering. I loved the crispy quinoa bits! Would go again and try different dishes! read more

Unfortunately we were very let down. This was the place I wanted to try the most on our most recent trip to Whistler. We went before even checking into our airbnb for happy hour. The cocktails were good. The potato puffs delicious. The tartare was fine but was not what I expect from a tartare the spice and flavouring overpowered the meat so completely. The Thai fried chicken was soggy and we think maybe raw? My husband ate a small piece and went green I tried a bite and sent it back. Which we never ever do. Seeing the reviews I had high hopes. It's in the Pan Pacific and has an interesting cocktail list. Food was limited, and service was subpar. Drinks: 1. I want the breakfast combo. Fun and creative, but if I didn't read the menu or know the name i wouldn't be able to guess that all these breakfast items are part of the drink. The Spicy Thai Fried Chicken was not spicy, delicious but a very small portion. Potato puffs were really good, super soft inside with only a really thin fried layer outside. I thought the tartare will be special in some way but I could barely taste the beef. Wouldn't get it again. As for the main, the polenta and burrata had good flavour but the ling cod was so bland. Might as well made this a vegetarian dish and removed the fish and added more polenta. I was disappointed in their dessert selection too. Ended up getting the Mille Feuille which was better than I thought. The peanut butter wasn't too sweet. Presentation was nice but made it a challenge to eat. I think they were short staffed too, service was slow and our server seemed to be uninterested and just unfriendly. We subsequently were able to meet the proprietor Jason on a separate night (we were staying at the hotel), and he's a wonderful person with a welcoming personality. Definitely one of the best spots at Whistler to eat. Oddly, we ate here tonight at the "other Pan" and tomorrow I will try the spa. Order: potato croquettes, salmon tartare, beet tartare, spicy chicken and one of their lighter cocktails. This place had nothing for kids, no high chair, no menu and not much they could eat--not even a take away cup--but when you get there early enough, the place is quiet and you tip well, they didn't mind one bit. There has been a lot of hype around the Raven Room lately, so I made a reservation well in advance to make sure my husband and I would be able to come here as part of our anniversary weekend away in Whistler. We came for appetizers and cocktails and everything was super delicious! Our waitress was great- very friendly and let us know right away that if there wasn't something in the cocktail menu that appealed to us, that something custom could be made. She was very helpful in giving recommendations. Between my husband and I the cocktails we tried were the local lemon drop punch bowl, queen of Barbados, and sorry I dropped your cherry. For appetizers we had the potato puffs and spicy Thai fried chicken. There punch bowl is a good value- $16 per person and we each got the equivalent of 2 drinks out of it. The queen of Barbados was not as sweet as I expected but nonetheless was delicious. However the best cocktail by far was the 'sorry I dropped your cherry!' which came recommended to to husband from our waitress as he likes sweeter drinks. It was so unexpectedly tasty- normally we would stray away from a cherry flavoured cocktail but we are glad we took her recommendation! it was my husbands drink but I ended up having a few sips. The food was 10/10. Both appetizers were FULL of flavour and worth every penny. I noticed that both appetizers are part of their happy hour menu too which looks like an awesome deal! I cannot say enough good things about the spicy Thai fried chicken and potato puffs. The only reason for not rating 5 stars is some things are definitely way overpriced. For example, we were considering getting the scallop and prawn appetizer but when I asked how much food it is, because they charge $27, the waitress told me it was only about 3 of each. So $27 is steep. The entree options also did not really appeal to us and definitely not for the price point- based on what we saw other people getting the portions are quite small.
