Headed here for our last night in Whistler and it did not disappoint! Love the ambiance and the beautiful decor, the restaurant wraps around the bar at its center. Began with some cocktails - I enjoyed a cocktail called Trophy Wife and my husband had Malfy Gin and Tonic! Then we just enjoyed some smaller bites - poke, scallop crudo, gambas al ajillo ( theirs is one of the best anywhere ) and octopus! It was the perfect way to end our anniversary trip!

Bar Oso was very stylish wine bar is located in the center of Whistler village. I visited here a few years ago before renovation. I really loved this place menu and food and wine, so, I revisited. What we ordered - Charcuterie including different type of pate, cheese and ham. - Pate was excellent, cheese and ham were also good choice. Bread with salmon roe dipping, - very unique dipping choice. Croquetas de setas Valdeon fonduto - Deep fried cheese and mushroom with cream sauce, - It was very delicious dish. Never go wrong this combination. Slow cooked wagyu beef cheek pemberton carrots, pickled mustard seeds - Highlight! Beef cheek was super tender and this is the one melting in your mouth. sauce was very rich and bold. It really paired well each other. Highly recommend with full body red wine! Dessert - Basque cheesecake - Solid choice. cheese cake texture was very rich. Delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed their food and ambience. We would like to order more if we were not full... Highly recommend this wine bar if you have a chance to visit Whistler!

The food had great flavor and it was incredibly rich. The sobrassada was a personal favorite. It's a busy restaurant and I'd recommend looking into reservations prior to your dinner. The shishito peppers were also very flavorful and the sauces were delightful. The paella was a little underwhelming compared to the other dishes. It was just a bit bland. Everything else we had was great. The music was upbeat and the staff were friendly. Their desserts were very rich whether a fudge cookie or cheeses. Out of the desserts we tried the cheesecake was by far the best! Bar Oso is a nice place to stop for dinner if you're in town.

We sat at the bar and although it's an upscale vibe, it was still a friendly atmosphere and the bartenders were pleasant. We tried the 3-course fall tasting menu for $29. The portions are tapa-sized so we ordered a few more dishes on the side. They have a creative cocktail menu. We tried Saigon baigur & fever tree Indian tonic, which was pretty and refreshing.

This place was an honourable mention in Vancouver Magazine for Best in Whistler, so I wanted to try it. We had a reservation, we arrived on time, and were seated immediately. The first thing that catches your eye - the warm glow of the bar - it creates a neat vibe to the place. We went with the midweek Taste of Spain prix fixe and added one item: - Gazpacho - Good. I've never really enjoyed gazpacho in the past, but the small serving and liberal use of salt/seasoning made it quite good - Spanish Olives - OK. Three types provided. I'm not an olive person, but tried all of them and thought they were fine. - Citrus salad - OK. Not a grapefruit person, but it was a small serving so it was fine - Fresh Charcuterie - Good. All of the items were good and very distinct from each other. Half size is perfect for 2 people - Paella - Good. Flavour was good but didn't have that signature socarrat (crust) - Pollo Asado - OK. The leg tasted fine, but the breast was dried out. - Chocolate Cookie - Very good . Fresh, still hot molten chocolate. All cookies should be this good. - Spanish Cheeses - Ok. Cheeses were a bit bland. Server was fine, but busy and rushed. Kitchen was backed up because our paella and pollo were served a good 15 min apart. I noticed the table beside us had an even longer wait and were clealy not happy with the wait time. It took a long time to get our bill too. Overall, I had mixed thoughts. The place had a cool vibe but the food was hit and miss, and service was not keeping up. But at least the food was reasonably priced. Not sure I would return.

We returned to Bar Oso after reminiscing about the Café con Crema multiple times after our visit last year. What an incredible take on espresso martini! Besides their incredible cocktails, sitting at the bar is a treat at Bar Oso. The bartenders are masters of their craft and their attention to detail leaves nothing to be desired. All of the servers are so kind, attentive, and helpful if you have questions about the menu. This time, I also ordered La Huerta, which was tall, light, and refreshing - perfect after a long day of skiing. We enjoyed the Alcachofas & Salmorejo and the Local Roasted Beet Salad - both delicious and so flavorful. I've only had incredible tapas here, but in true Spanish style, the portions aren't big, which is a great opportunity to try multiple plates. The vibe inside is very fun and the place is usually packed during peak season. I've already got my eye on a cocktail for our next trip to Whistler!

Friendly staff. Amazing drinks. Made it too late to try their food but their drinks honestly hit the spot for a late night gathering with the fam. They have a wide variety of drinks and sweet selection in music. The place is nice and feels intimate though it's good for groups. Great spot for late night conversations. I may be redundant at this point because I obviously have had more than one drink but this is a must when ever in Whistler.

Would give it a 4.5 stars if I could. Super lucky we got a table by the bar just by walking in because they were PACKED. Got some small bites and they were all really flavorful. The contaditos was amazing but it really is very small lol. Would definitely want to go back to try their octopus and beef tartare

My wife and I visited on a whim this evening, without reservation and am glad we did. We sat at the bar, which was entertaining to watch the charcuterie and other things being prepared before us. My wife enjoyed a couple of glasses of red, and I enjoyed an NA ipa. The beet salad was a noteworthy start, followed by the iberico selection charcuterie (highly recommend) and the lamb albondigas was wonderful (highly recommend). The service and ambience were excellent, and the overall experience was very enjoyable. I would come here again and would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy some modern Spanish cuisine.

My favorite cocktail lounge to stop in for drinks! They have the best drinks and inside is very "moody". The espresso martini is fantastic but also love the Trophy Wife. I haven't tried the small bites but they do look good going by.

Came to Whistler to celebrate my bday. We wanted to go to another popular restaurant but the wait was so long we started to walk around. Bar Oso was on my list to check out, and with our luck they were able to seat us right away. Menu offered $29 3 course meal. Sharing tapas plates, main, and dessert. It was yummy food and plenty for the price. We had a couple of drinks. The vibe here is fantastic. The service was great. Love the paella, warm cookie and vanilla milk, cheese board, and olives. Great place to grab a drink and also tapas.

Had a wonderful time at Bar Oso! We started with a Beets Salad and Beef Tartar, both fresh and flavorful. Drinks were excellent. We ordered Café con Crema and a perfectly balanced Old Fashioned. Cozy atmosphere and attentive service made it a great experience.

Been to this place a dozen times. It was remodeled in the last year and the size has doubled. Still a decent place for drinks (although it was amazing place for cocktails before). Seem to have lost a couple of the creative mixologists. Food on the other hand has expanded and improved! Today took the opportunity to try out the prefix 3 course for $29. The pork belly was amazing. The menu changes weekly it looks like. Dessert was Santiago cake/ almond with poached pear that was a great combo. Got the Santury Roku gin/tonic. Was quite clean tasting but nothing to write home about. Service was great as always including the maitreD at the front. Attentive, informative, knowledgeable and pitched in to help.

We tried a variety of dishes across both visits, and every single one was fantastic. The balance of flavors and the way different cultures are blended together is seriously impressive. Some standout dishes: the truffle ceviche was incredible, and the black tiger prawn causa had a sauce that was absolutely fantastic. The tallarín de marisco is a must-order, we loved it so much we ordered it twice. We also had the salmon anticucho and Colombian arepa, and everything was fire. Everything tasted fresh, well thought out, and perfectly executed. You can tell a lot of care goes into each dish. If you're visiting Whistler, Balam is a must-visit. The miso sesame dressing added depth without overpowering the beets, while the puffed grains gave it the perfect crunch. The nori, shiso, and hint of yuzu brought a subtle freshness that made the dish feel light yet layered. A stunning start. The cavatelli with fontina and 5g shaved black truffles was pure comfort but elevated. Rich, silky, and deeply savory, with the truffle aroma hitting you immediately. The focaccia and fresh herbs tied it all together -- indulgent without feeling heavy. The standout for me was the sablefish. Perfectly cooked -- buttery and flaky -- paired beautifully with turnip, radish, and maitake mushrooms. The roasted fish bone sauce was incredibly refined and packed with umami. Every bite felt intentional and balanced. And to finish, the sticky toffee pudding -- warm, decadent, and exactly what you want to end the night. Sweet, comforting, and unforgettable. Wild Blue blends refined technique with thoughtful ingredients. Definitely one of the highlights of dining in Whistler

We haven't visited Whistler in years, I was looking forward…read moreto this trip because we had booked what I thought was the top rated restaurant there but boy was I ever wrong. Their geoduck and clam pasts tasted okay but the serving size was laughably small, 2 large bites to perhaps 4 small bites at best. The worst thing was the overcooked geoduck, they're basically large clams and anyone who's cooked and eaten clams will know that overcooked clams turn rubbery and the few bits of geoduck were as rubbery as a rubber duck. The same applies to their Roasted Ling Cod, unless you enjoy overcooked ling cod, avoid at all costs. Amongst our group we ordered 3 New Your Steaks, we ordered medium rare, to their credit they were all cooked a perfect medium rare. Trouble was they were all way over salted. Too much salt to make them enjoyable, frankly I've had much better steaks at Denny's. As part of their prix fixe menu they had smoked black cod which I normally enjoy. Here they mashed the black cod into a chip dip which they served with their house made potato chips, While the dip was okay as far as taste goes, the chips they served last week on Wednesday night were all stale, not yet rancid but definitely stale. If the manager is reading this, I suggest he take a few and taste them himself. Prices weren't out of line since this is a resort area and restaurant pretty much can count on a "captive" clientele. However value wise this place should not be anywhere near the top of your go-to list.
