Lisa's place is situated on a quiet strip. My fiancé and I stopped on our way back home to CT and boy are we glad we did. It doesn't look like much on the inside, but Lisa's Place has great homemade cooking and generous portions. My favorite kind of place to find! We both got bacon cheeseburgers, which were absolutely phenomenal. You could tell that the ingredients were fresh, and the patty was homemade. Our meals also came with a healthy portion of fries, which we were pleasantly surprised by. The price is right at Lisa's and should definitely be added to your list if traveling through NY. Waited over an hour for burgers and fries. Waitress told us our order was on the grill. Waited fifteen more minutes and walked.

Drove hours to drop off a puppy we sold. Decided to stay in sayre, ny. Drove to nearby small town waverly. Tried this red building called Lisa's diner that had good reviews. Honestly from the outside looks pretty sketchy. Walked in and it has some old puzzles hanging on the wall and some old vinyl records also . Seems clean and much nicer inside. I ordered the couch potato and my wife ordered Brooke's burger. She got a side salad also. The salad was shredded lettuce and probably wouldn't get again. The server was high energy and very attentive. Got the burgers and what the freaking heck!!! They are crazy good. Just dripping in juice , cooked to perfection. Fresh cut fries are good. I gave up on this place long time ago, as their wait times can be absolutely ridiculous despite the decent food. I've recently given them another chance, and they gave me an hour wait on the sandwiches I ordered for my girlfriend and I, and we were fine with the wait and could plan our dinner break from work accordingly. The food was 20 minutes late and really screwed up our break, forcing us to eat as fast as we could so we could get back to work on time. The cashier wouldn't let me pay at the counter when we ordered, which I thought was weird, but figured out why after my meal. My bill came to $44, I gave her 3 $20 bills to allow for a decent tip, and turned to go back to my table, and she starts yelling about me still owing her $4. My 3 $20 bills that were on the counter before I turned my back suddenly turned into 2 $20 bills. I knew I was sitting directly under the camera, so I gave them more money and contacted the owner. She said she would check the cameras for me ASAP. She never got back to me, which you would think she would defend her employee if she didn't steal from me. But complete radio silence for a week now. Kinda telling on yourself. Maybe pay your employees more so they don't have to steal from your customers. I'll never go back, and from here on out I will urge anyone I can to not go there either. So much for trying to support local businesses. read more

This place is great. Honestly the best sandwiches in the Valley. Everything we have had, has been stellar. The only drawback is, it's quite small, but it's take out is quick, nothing seems to suffer from it. We are working our way through the menu, and have yet to find anything..Anything that isn't great. Brooo. Words cannot do this place justice. By far one of the best places to grab a burger and fries. The 1/2 pound burger is always cooked to perfection, juicy and absolutely delicious. The fries are fresh cut and deep fried to an art form. I tried two different burgers on two different occasions and found nothing to complain about, food wise. I really wanted to give this place 4 stars, due to the lack of heat and how cold it was inside the building, but couldn't because the burgers are SO damn good. Nice red brick building on main street in Waverly. Some extra parking on the west side of the building. It's pretty small inside with about 5 tables, but the food is excellent. I've been there twice now, and I'm greatly impressed with their sandwiches. The best texas hot in town. It's a 1/4 pound Nathans split and flat grilled with meat sauce onions and a toasted bun. One and done, a bargain at under $4. The cheese steaks are large and fabulous. The place is clean and service is efficient, and prices are about right. We plan on trying more of the menu. There are some great sandwich places in the Valley, this is certainly one of them. read more

We were staying in Waverly for work and the photo of the Loaded Fries caught our eye. Came on in, and boy those fries did not disappoint. Wings and chicken cheesesteak were also delicious.
