Y'all ever had a burrito so big that your rating changes with each bite? Welcome to The Grind. I happened upon this place while in Vallejo one random morning. I searched for breakfast spots and this name came popping up in the top 3 searches for me. Honestly, I was going to go elsewhere until I saw the picture of the menu and noticed the jalapeño popper breakfast burrito. Sold! I changed directions and as soon as I parked (without any issue) I was a little skeptical. First thing I noticed was how sparsely populated the area was with cars or people. Oh also that this spot is across from the court. Immediately I thought this was going to be comparable to hospital cafeteria food simply due to convenience. Walked up to a storefront that was hidden in plain sight. Upon entering, I noticed a little ramp making this place ADA accessible (bonus for inclusion, gender neutral restrooms too). Also noticed a stationary tablet used for ordering - may have been appreciated if it were busy but the friendly staff took my order at the counter. I ordered the jalapeño popper burrito despite the inflated price ($16 BEFORE tax) and a cafe au lait. I immediately regretted my order because once I paid I turned around a noticed some seasonal drinks advertised that sounded more appealing, sigh. I took several seats in their eclectic furniture until I decided on their dining table for 6 (could be nice if coming with a group or to work from a cafe with outlets). My food and drink were ready fairly quickly despite a constant online demand and patrons coming to pickup take out. The food... my cafe au lait was not anything special, but it was expected. The burrito, the star, didn't disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised with the size.more than anything I was glad that it weighed like it was worth the price tag. The bites that had that magical combination of jalapeño and cream cheese made me want to give this five stars. The bites without that combo, a 3. Ultimately I decided on a 4 because even though some bites were worth it, I don't know that I can bring myself to fully co-sign a $16 breakfast burrito. However, if I even find myself at the courthouse across the street, I'll stop by again and bite the bullet and think you should too - it's easily two meals. read more

Love the breakfast burritos! Coffee is good. The owner is a she and local. So you know. Go support them over the drive through coffee spots. It is not super close to where I live anymore. but worth the extra minutes to visit. read more

Cute cafe with lots of seating. I was welcomed immediately and the staff were friendly. The cashier had trouble with my order. I ordered a medium hot caramel macchiato and a large iced white mocha and a vegan breakfast burrito as it seemed simpler to order than asking for extras in the potato burrito. I was given a small or medium iced white mocha instead of a large but I didn't print my receipt and they seemed to be busy with orders, it wasn't worth changing it. They were also out of straws at the time. It took about twenty minutes for my breakfast burrito to be made. It seemed to be a popular item as there were other patrons waiting for theirs burritos. It was a decent size burrito and while I picked out the vegan sausage, the few bits that I missed were tasty. read more

Overdue review-- the coffee here is delicious. I love the unique flavors. My favorites are the lavender white mocha and now the ube iced coffee. The ube iced coffee was so creamy... it didn't even taste like an iced coffee. The inside is adorable. I love what the owners did with the place. I went to grab a coffee but ended up staying at least an hour to enjoy my drink and relax. A Vallejo gem. Lastly, the service is amazing. Great people that are always welcoming. I stopped in Vallejo to visit The Grind. I was headed to the San Francisco airport from Napa and wanted to stop somewhere for delicious coffee. The owner, Tiffany, is wonderful. It's worth coming here just to say hello to her. Tell her where you're from because she would love to know how you found her. They have nice 20 ounce drinks, which I love because many espresso shops only serves 16 ounce cups. A very friendly, welcoming coffee shop. Tiffany knows many of her customers' names. A SOLID BUSINESS RIGHT HERE. I stopped by one morning to grab a quick brekkie before a final and ordered the horchata iced coffee and a hot link sandwich. Took about 10 minutes waiting for it to come out, and the staff were super friendly. I loved the vibe of the spot since it's definitely strong as a local business but also I really appreciated that it's one of those places that you know you can drop by and grab something delicious just by looking at it. Hot link sandwich was amazing and had me full halfway through! So savory with a good kick and of course it does the job to ensure I'm well fed. Grabbed a croissant breakfast sandwich, bread was fluffy and fresh and complimented it well with the bacon and avocado. The location was super easy to find and when you walk in the music that was playing was a vibe! And it had plenty of seating and easy quick service for me by using the tablet near the door. Which was nice because for my first time I had no idea what to get. I had the best hot link breakfast sandwhich I ever had. So simple yet delicious. Flaky croissant and there was a cheese pull! Did an online order which I recommend if you're in a hurry. They are literally making everything, so if you order in there it may take longer! Employees were really nice. This was my first time having this. I modified the breakfast sandwich to a bagel and added avocado. Their bagels are delicious, as was the entire sandwich! Local coffee shops are always the best! The Grind Cafe is a Vallejo favorite! First, the owners are amazing! They make you feel right at home and ready to brew your favorite cup of joe to help jump start your day! Not only do they brew coffee but they also serve small, simple, tasty breakfast items such as sandwiches! (Definitely check out their menu to see what they offer) I've had their breakfast burritos and sandwiches. Every burrito and/or sandwich you get will be loaded! It'll definitely fill you up! Besides coffee, they also serve smoothies! I've never had anything other then their coffee. I've had their lavender, mocha, and horchata - every cup was brewed with delight! I especially enjoyed the lavender one because it was the right amount of lavender (that earthy, relaxing taste). Check out their IG because sometimes they invite other small/ local businesses for pop ups! Parking is on the street. They do get really busy so patience is key (and getting there early lol). read more

So I am a DoorDasher and I've been there to pick up our order one burrito and a large drink. They're supposed to be ordered ready when I go to the store but she said wait for 15 minutes and while I was waiting, Random customer is coming and he ordered a burrito and large drink too he got his order just in three minutes. and I was waiting over there more than 20 minutes. They did not prepare it. They're doing that in a purpose. I don't know but this is really hard for me because I'm a hard worker person. I do 12 hours shift every day more than 12 hours in DoorDash and I did not even make enough like hundred dollars. It's a miracle if I make more than hundred dollars in 12 hour shift and when the DoorDash order is get late, DoorDash give you bad rating even customer give you bad rating too and those ratings make our order availability more low even after waiting for 25 minutes I did not get the order and DoorDash cancel the order automatically like I lose nine dollars and now I have to wait another hour to get an order soon always I never see these people face again in my life and I pray to God they will face the karma read more

When pulling up, the places looks like it's been out of business for years. But I was able to barely make out a lit "open" sign. So I went in. I noticed the menu items were priced differently than what it shows in their photos on here. Bacon burrito in the photos shows $11.50. In store it was $13 plus tax. Music was blaring so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation. They have a tablet set up for ordering so you don't ever need to talk to a human. How impersonal. And then the automated system has the audacity to automatically suggest 25% gratuity. Even though I barely spoke to a person, and there was no customer service provided, I tipped 20%. Bringing my burrito to now $17. I'd never been there before so I asked about the ingredients of the Bacon burrito. The menu stated it was only eggs, cheese and bacon, but I was informed it comes with egg, cheese, bacon, sour cream and salsa. I asked for my salsa on the side. I ordered my burrito to go so I didn't get to check to make sure it was made right. Got to work and the burrito was ONLY bacon and potatoes. No eggs. No cheese. No salsa on the side. What a complete rip off. $17 for bacon and potatoes. How lovely'. I will never be coming back here again and I suggest no one else does either. This place is across the street from the Solano Justice building and probably has a majority of patrons that have no other choice. Oh and there are an abundance of homeless people walking around drugged out of their minds. Yesterday there was a lady yelling "f*** you" to every car or person that passed her. If you haven't tried this place, it's a must!!! From the coffee to their signature breakfast burritos!!! Amazing!!! The very best quick service cafe in town!!! Sandwiches and breakfast burritos are made with fresh, high quality ingredients and they don't skimp on portions. The homemade salsa that comes with the breakfast burritos is the bomb!!! The cookies, breakfast sandwiches, bagels and fresh pastries are also fresh and delicious!!! Iced coffee, hot coffee, or hot chocolate - they know how to whip up any drink, made to order!!! The cafe itself is always clean and the staff is super warm and welcoming with seating inside. I don't find parking to be tricky; there's plenty on the side street or across the street and within walking distance if you don't find a spot directly in front of the cafe... Don't let the parking discourage you. All I can say is you must try it!!! I know you love it and will for sure be a repeat customer!!! read more

My friend grabbed coffee for the two of us from here. I got the blended caramel coffee and it was DELICIOUS. I couldn't get enough and wish I had a larger size. My friend also liked her coffee. It was very cute and the workers were very nice. Definitely want to come back and try their food. However a man in the shop followed my friend to her car and stood outside it watching her. Today, I visited The Grind Cafe in Vallejo, having been informed of its excellent reputation through numerous positive reviews. Upon entering the establishment, I found the dining area to be cozy and welcoming. I was immediately greeted by a young lady who appeared to be in training, as well as the delightful woman who took my order. I informed her that this was my first time visiting and requested a recommendation for a breakfast sandwich. She explained several popular options on their menu, and I ultimately ordered the Ultimate BLT sandwich to-go, which proved to be an absolute delight. When I arrived home and opened the bag, I found the sandwich neatly packaged in a clamshell container. Upon placing the sandwich on a plate and taking it apart, I discovered that it was assembled with great care. The croissant was fresh, soft, and perfectly flaky on the outside, with a perfect amount of mayonnaise spread on the inside. The filling consisted of scrambled eggs with cheese, cooked on a waffle iron, accompanied by slices of fresh avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, and bacon. The bacon was cooked to perfection, and all the produce was perfectly ripe, bright, and beautiful. The Grind Cafe is conveniently located across the street from the Vallejo courthouse. Therefore, if you are ever in the area or fulfilling your jury duty, I highly recommend stopping by to pick up a delightful breakfast or lunch. read more

Recently stopped by The Grind in Vallejo and was blown away by the exceptional service and delicious food! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our visit truly enjoyable.
