This place is great in middle of nowhere, NC on the way back from Myrtle Beach, NC we stopped here. I thought it would be not so good. The people are super nice. I am glad we stopped here instead of a fast food option. My faith in individual owned restaurant was restored. They were flexible to modify the sandwiches too. We were a large group, we got quick seat and quick serve. Fresh squeezed juice is nice option. There is a very nice poster too - they have a sense of humor and they don't take themselves too seriously. The glass structure makes the restaurant, feel open but at the same time cool inside. Driving through on our way to the beach. Found this on yelp (of course, love you yelpers!) the guy working greeted us with a big good morning immediately as we walked through the door. He chatted us up right away asking us how our day was, what our plans for the day were etc. very refreshing! We both just wanted some simple coffee. I totally wish I was hungry because everything sounded good. So brings me back to what I did have, drip coffee....good. Ambiance is absolutely adorable! Several tables to sit at. Lots of sunshine & the tables are decorated with springtime tablecloths. Don't go anywhere else! And if your just driving through it's worth your stop to support this awesome little business. read more

We found this place to be blah in the taste of the food, it's over priced and service is slow. The cooks are the waitresses, I understand they want to cut costs but, what a joke. How can the servers focus on their customers, ring them up and prepare the food/coffee all at the same time? And, can you believe that their Ice coffee was regular coffee that everyone gets served with ice cubes! What a JOKE that was. We stopped here on a long drive with the kids and enjoyed every minute of our lunch. The food is fresh with local ingredients. The service is friendly and caring. We all ordered sandwiches and a piece of blueberry pie. The pie was so good we bought a whole one to bring home. Wonderful! I live right up the street and ride my bike to the Grind! They're so pleasant and polite! The smoothies are the best. Always ask what you should order and GO WITH WHAT THEY SUGGEST! You won't be disappointed! Somewhat pricey for what it is, but overall wonderful. (: Update: just ate here today and I have no idea what's happened.. Went here for lunch today. We didn't know till last week it was a lunch spot! Been by it many times, thought it was just a coffee stop! Very nice friendly owners, cannot do enough for you! Very clean, very good food, and you cannot beat the prices for the quality food you get. Quaint is the word I am looking for, perfect small town eatery! Wow what a food-stop oasis in the hinterlands between Lumberton and Myrtle Beach. This place is fantastic. I walked in and noticed every thing from the coffee to the food to the freshly baked deserts to the decor was a cut above. It was formerly a 1920s gas station and evidently everything else between now and then. We tried a variety of selections and all were good. I had the freshly-baked still-warm Key Lime pie upon finishing the Farmer's salad. My son especially liked the chicken salad sandwich. Everything was fresh and clean. It's a bit like a farm-to-table place but reasonably priced as well. On the way back from MB I stopped again and ordered an iced coffee to go. Great flavor (Eku sp? coffee roasted around Charleston) and they put in several coffee ice cubes so as they all melt the coffee doesn't get watered-down. Just excellent. Service good too. We stopped here on our way from Myrtle Beach to Williamsburg. 4 adults and 3 kids. The place is nicely decorated and welcoming, the owner extremely friendly and lovely and the food fresh and delicious! Between the 7 of us, we tried a few of their paninis, the soup of the day (a delicious cauliflower and potato soup), smoothies, homemade fruit popsicles, cappuccinos and - best of them all - the house made key lime pie. This place would be a hit in any city I can think of, including San Francisco, where I live. I don't know when I'll be in the area again but whenever that happens, I'll make sure to stop at the Grind again. This time it was by chance, next time it will be by design. read more

This place was fantastic. The owner was a server, which shows his dedication to his business. Very pleasant local people. Food was good, fresh local produce. The tomatoes were out of this world. No refills on coffee and they tip-shame you but other than that, the food is awesome. They definitely need to pave their parking lot though.
