I went there to hang out with some friends locally. Turned out a whole bunch of people showed up and the crowd got really big. I wondered where all these people had come from. It was like a big group of people just filed in. Turns out these people were all anti-Vaxxers I left very quickly, knowing I was surrounded by people that didn't believe in science and didn't have their vaccines for all these transmittable diseases. This place has the trappings of an authentic honky-tonk. It has the size, wooded areas, dueling mechanical bulls, gift store, wraparound bar, kitchen, banquet room, etc. I love the rich history of musicians who have played here over the decades, shown in framed, autographed photos covering all of the walls. The Grizzly Rose takes pride in providing live country music, five nights per week. During my visit on a Saturday night, I enjoyed listening and dancing to the music of Duey & Unbroken. The 40,000 square feet of this country dance hall is impressive. Surprisingly, only 2,500 square feet is allocated to the dance floor. This is too small for the demand placed on it during a Saturday night. The front half of the dance floor is devoted to country swing dancing, while the back half is reserved for line dancing. This leaves no room for progressive partner dancing, i.e., two-step (as is normal across Texas). Country swing could not have been the prevailing form of partner dancing here since the inception of this honky-tonk in 1989. So, what year did it displace two-step? I enjoyed the line dance lesson at 7 p.m., followed by the country swing dance lesson at 8:15 p.m. Strangely, two-step is how the opening pattern taught for country swing, before it abruptly switches to country swing. Yet, they refer to all of this as country swing. This supports my suspicion that country swing hijacked two-step at some point in the history of this honky-tonk. If this is how locals here are brought up on country dancing, they're in for a surprise, if and when they go to honky-tonks across Texas, where two-step prevails. Given how crowded the dance floor gets, they might consider expanding it by another 1,000 feet or more. Then it might be possible to spare enough room on the perimeter to bring back progressive partner dancing (two-step, three-step, partner cowboy cha-cha, etc.). The main seating and walkways are concrete ground, which can wear on your feet. Therefore, I doubt the average person lasts more than a few hours of dancing before throwing in the towel. read more

I had such a fun night here! We were visiting from out of town and wanted to go line dancing, so we found this spot after hearing some good things about it. The vibes were good, everyone was so friendly which I loved because sometimes people can be a little standoffish to visitors. But everyone was kind, and there were so many great dancers. They have 2 mechanical bulls, a few little games, a store, and I think even more activities in the back. The music was good and the dance floor was packed but not in a bad way. Great spot! read more

Food menu is lacking with only pizza and chicken tenders. Beer galore. Well, the music started at 7:30pm and the headliner did not show until 9:15 or 9:30pm. Every time I go to the Grizzly Rose it's a great time I've had the food which is basic bar food. It's still delicious. The bar is so big that they have so many bartenders behind the bar so service is definitely great. Never a complaint there bathrooms are fully stocked and cleaned, which is a big plus for me I love that there is so many staff members out there helping each other out on the floor to clear tables and make sure everybody is comfortable.... i've seen a lot of concerts at the Grizzly Rose. Second you walk in and where you supposedly get a wrist band didn't get one and got yelled at halfway through my night didn't know I needed one. I absolutely do not trust the person that says they "watch" all 30 drinks that are left on the barrels outside of the bathroom. Do you know have many people that walk past those drinks or could pick it up and put it back down because it's the "wrong drink" or quickly drop something in one? Also my friend who is 20 years old and is a few days away from turning 21 was accused of "scrubbing" the x's of her hands. What would the reason be to do so? We paid 50 for tickets, there is a worker IN THE BATHROOM as well, and the main band hadn't even come on yet. We were absolutely livid when we were asked to leave because the X's were fading away. I will not be coming back, the staff was very rude and disrespectful, you are assigned a stall in the bathroom and a worker watches to make sure there isn't 2 people in a stall and you have to leave your drinks outside. Alright, had to check this place out. Stopped by on Friday night. First thing as soon as you walk in "boom" $10 cover. Most bars/ clubs everywhere I go to offer a veterans discount but not this place. $10 bucks.... anyways after this we made our way to the bar, bar staff was slammed, however, you can be busy and be courteous. A female bartender shut me down and literally stared at me for 5 seconds and ignored me and walked off after I asked for a white claw and a coors light.... Like ok cool. Then I got myself a couple shots with another bartender and bought a "bride to be a shot", and it was straight dog water.... Like it was not even a second pour. Them completely filled with redbull. This place is a good damn time! Went for ladies night for the first time ever recently. The free drinks are good and small but we're easy to get a refill. They didn't have a free beer that night which was a bummer. Female bartenders were bitchy but probably because most girls don't tip on free nights which is a sin, tip on your free drinks ladies! The music was excellent and the dancing was fun! Don't know a line dance? Just stand near the best person on the floor and copy their moves. A great venue to see some of country's great acts both established and up and coming. While seating is a bit limited, there isn't a bad view in the house. They feature a large dance floor, multiple bars, and even some food (which we did not try on our visit) The service was wonderful and the bartenders were slinging out drink's quickly to help keep lines of people from piling up. Also if you open a tab you can get drinks at any of the bars in the building which is convenient, and there is no price gouging here drinks are very reasonable. The sound for both the opening band and main act were great as well. Loud but not so loud you couldn't communicate. Overall, I can't wait until the next act I want to see comes to Grizzly Rose! Came here for a concert on a Saturday night and it was popping!! I was very lucky and came with a family member of the artist so we were treated to our own reserved table and thus avoided the crowded dance floor (the show was sold out). That said, trying to figure out where to go to get our wristbands felt like an epic quest, which seemed kind of silly. But hey, we made it. The drinks were kinda pricey for what you got, but that's inflation for yah. The number of bars made it pretty easy to get a drink with minimal wait time. Bathrooms and other areas were kept clean given how busy it was, which can be a challenge for crowded venues. Parking was plentiful enough, much needed given the location. So, this place is a whole bunch of nostalgic for me! I loved visiting this time! It has been a decade since I last was in The Rose and now I'm thinking I need to make this a weekly occurrence. I also think Wednesdays are my vibe. It's a free entry and you get a free two-step lesson in the middle of the floor or you can opt to go to the back studio and pay $5 for an hour long lesson in which we learned the cowboy Cha Cha. I think $5 for a full hour was a great deal. If you don't want to pay, you still have a free two-step lesson in the middle! The Grizzly Rose has many bar areas to grab drinks and also offers food like pizza! There are two bulls to ride if you wish, billiards, arcade games, etc.! So, it's a great entertainment spot! Ladies, if you're looking for FREE drinks, go on a Thursday when ladies drink for free. I haven't been back on a Thurs, so I'll have to report back when I do. Huge place! As an out of towner, I heard this was a good place to check out if you like country dancing. The dance floor is sizable and there's plenty of room to line dance and two step and country swing simultaneously, and folks are pretty respectful of each other's space on the dance floor. There's a ton to do here from arcade games, pool, dueling bulls, lasso room, Photo Booth, and a bar that serves food as well as drinks. I wouldn't come back to Denver just for this bar, but I'd consider coming back again. I was told the guy to girl ratio here is noticeable (weighing heavily on male), and that held true. Ladies night to catch up! We went early at 7pm so we could just talk before the crowd came and noise level went up. Ladies night drinks start at 8pm with free well drinks. We sat at a high top and eventually took two as they only allow four chairs per table. You can stand around and be more than 4 people but you can only have four chairs. It was so fun to listen to the dj and they also had a live band which was pretty good. They played a mix of original and cover songs. We enjoyed visiting and catching up. Parking lot behind is a larger lot than the one right in front of the building. Tried the pizza for the first time on the recommendation of the guy working the floor. It was pretty good and at $3.50 a slice not a bad price. Had lots of fun as always. Bring cash as sometimes the credit card machine is finicky. They do have an ATM. read more

legit the rudest staff i've ever dealt with. my group of 10 friends is on spring break from college and 4 of us are 21 and 6 of us are 20. the staff bearded my friends that are 21 saying their ids were fake and forced them to provide a birth certificate or passport to be let in (so if ur 21 and out of state don't expect just your ID to let you in!!!). they didn't have their passport (obviously, who takes that to the bar). me and my friends that are 20 made one comment about how this is ridiculous how rude they were being to our 21 yr old friends when the lady shined her light in our face and yelled at us to mind our business. they need to maybe figure out how to spot a fake ID from a real ID and not be that rude to people of age.! read more

The Grizzly Rose is an UH-MAZING country western bar! As soon as I walked in it reminded me of a fictional bar called the Double Deuce from the movie ROADHOUSE. RIP Patrick Swayze! the Grizzly Rose has live music and they serve food. No food for me this trip. They have many beers and have a few house drinks. Very reasonable prices. There is dancing , some couples were amazing. It can get loud , so talking through your mask is tough if you chose to keep it on. Not too many people doing that , don't hate , just know that if you don't want it to be an issue , then don't go, that simple. That's sort of hard when you're drinking cocktails. My husband and I came here for a concert and with the time gap between the doors opening and the show starting, this allows for a lot of alcohol to be consumed. We unfortunately found a table and a group of three drunk guys sat behind us who continuously would not leave us alone, threw a drink on a lady behind us because she did not appreciate being groped by them and just wanted to pick a fight. We told security on a number of occasions what was happening and what we witnessed. Barry and his security staff couldn't be bothered with this news let alone do anything about it. We witnessed them grope 2 other girls, but again nothing was done about it. After this experience, I definitely do not feel safe in this venue. First of all, I met 1 bartender out of 5 that was a quality person. The other 4 gave me a stink eye because I'm out of state, which they could tell from my ID. Next, let's just call out the fact that my buddy had to take a call that was an emergency and they wouldn't let him back in without paying a cover. Following that, they were giving him guff for his shirt not being buttoned up enough. Granted, they let us back in, but still... Oh, and it gets better... my friend has prescription sunglasses that he needs for both flashing light sensitivity and the ability to see. They told him to take them off. They were like "it's a liability to wear sunglasses." Me, being in the legal practice said "it's also a liability to not be able to see. If he had his prescription on him, we could take you to court in our state and yours." Following that, they were hovering around us like vultures to intimidate us. This place is a must see spot in Denver even if your not a huge country fan, it's an experience. They have two mechanical bulls side by side to compete with your friends, multiple bars, line dancing, a ropin' room and 6 night a week they have a different event or special. Flying from Phoenix to Denver every weekend is even more worth it when you know you're seeing live music from your favorite country artist at the Grizzly Rose! I have seen four concert this month and every time I'm up front stage left singing country songs with my friends and the artists themselves. I've been here on two Wednesdays. The Wednesday without line dancing was pretty chill. Learned some couples dancing. But the Wednesday with line dancing was totally packed. No AC (or that's what it felt like) in the back room for line dancing where they closed us in during the session. We were packed quite tightly in there. I can't imagine how many more people they would try to squeeze in there on a Friday or weekend dance session... It was slightly hard to hear the lady explaining over the mic system, but manageable. The dance itself was pretty fun. The best part was when the whole class dances together with the music at a decent pace. Would have preferred to have practiced with more music throughout the class. We danced it a few times and then the class was suddenly over. read more

They have dance lessons some nights, local bands playing some nights, and big artists playing on other nights. I enjoy going there on Saturday's when the local bands play! Warning--- I purchased tickets for Diamond Rio and tested positive for Covid. I felt fine for the most part and could have easily went and no one would have known but decided that would not be the right thing to do morally considering it affects everyone differently and would hate to pass that on. I contacted the venue letting them know I had Covid and that I didn't feel right about going and simply asked if they could trade me two tickets to a future concert and they said and emphatic no and no refunds on any tickets. I didn't ask for a refund- simply a different show to go to and would be happy to pay the difference if there was one. I responded back to the email sharing my disappointment and that it wasn't about the money but the principle that a venue who gives out tickets and comps all the time wouldn't try to make it right for someone who was honest. It's bad enough I missed my favorite band but the fact that they didn't try to make an effort makes me have zero desire to support them again. Customer service goes a long way- in this case- there was zero and it's a good thing I know what is right or wrong but some people may have decided to go anyways and not say a word- If the venue wants to make it right they can reach out- otherwise they have lost several customers- read more
