Bad communication, bad attitudes, doesn't open up the business for appointments, doesn't call customers telling them they're not open, lousy job grooming overall. Then when calmly trying explaining to them that they aren't really providing good customer service, they go on the attack and that start trying to turn themselves into the victims Beyond terrible experience here Just wanted to give a local business a shot, so I tried their grooming service despite the place looking ratty as hell I gave them 3 hours to groom a Corgi of all dogs. Not long enough, they needed nearly four hours. So anyone with a brain knows that a Corgi isn't going to take 4 hours to groom and even suggesting that's true is ludicrous. Which means my Corgi who isn't great in strange environments was 100% sitting in some crap space with a ton of dogs around here for two hours or more just waiting for these folks who can't keep their own schedules and times straight to get to her But I gave the business a 25% tip anyway and scheduled an appointment for my other dog the following Tuesday at 10:30 AM. After I've already traveled over for the appointment at 9:00 AM I get a text message referencing a 3:30 PM time slot So they, without my knowledge and certainly without my requesting it, tried changing the time to 3:30 PM however it didn't matter. They never opened up their business that day anyway, they never returned any phone calls. Theor changing the time was clearly a way for them to try and cover up the fact that they weren't showing up at the agreed to time. So they deleted my other appoinment to try and cover their tracks. The problem? I have the original text message that says 10:30, there is no communication they they can produce that will say I requested the change because I didn't and uh-oh I have a card with the day and time on it the woman gave to me personally the day I scheduled the appointment which says, Tuesday 10:30 am The next day I calmly tried explaining how they aren't respecting my time and If I continue to do business with them what can they do to assure me that this stuff isn't the norm with them? Despite the fact they POST many YOU BETTER RESPECT OUR TIME flyers all over their business, then send you text messages with the same message and then they threaten you with fines if you don't adhere to their time keeping policies.... After leaving a couple of messages I finally got a call back. I understand it's a small business, but at least a phone call the same day would be nice. Upon arriving the owner I believe was not very nice. I believe she was very busy, but we had an appointment and had some request in regards our dog. We felt very rushed. I wanted to take my business somewhere else, but we had just moved into town and I had no other choice. My dog needed a cut and bath. Cut and bath were good, but customer service is #1 on my list and I felt like they were doing me a favor taking my dog in and not the other way around. Definitely not coming back. read more

These ladies are excellent! After experiencing a not-so-stellar dog groomer here in Newport, I decided to try The Groom Room for my shitzu, Max. I love the open-floor concept and the fact that they do not kennel your dog when he/she's not being groomed. They gave him an excellent cut, and they also gave him time to socialize with the other dogs (which Max LOVED). Another awesome thing about them is they offer a military discount. We will definitely be taking Max back while we are here in Newport! read more

We are military and it is incredibly hard to move and find all the different businesses you use consistently all over again in a new town. Thankfully, after using a few grooming services on the island, we finally found Groom Room! We used other companies, 3 to be exact... one was so rough with our dog, she bleed after being combed through for far too long. After that experience we were so happy the team at Groom Room listened to our grooming needs and wants. They properly cut, combed and bathed our dog. They even have a cute little welcome board set up on the Broadway entrance that has your pooches name on. Love the little touches. :) I also like that my dog is never in some back room or kenneled when I go to pick her up. She's always bouncing around with the owner or her assistant. Seriously... This is the place to bring your dogs! Bethany and I only met in the past year, but her and her family became good friends when we all went camping over the summer! They are all truly kind people and I've honestly never seen such a sweet group of dog lovers! Their salon is spotless and smells great... You'd think with my allergy to dogs I couldn't go in there... I'm fine though! That's how clean they keep it! The dogs are always soooo happy there, you can tell by their adorable puppy smiles across their faces! Our little Oscar gets a bath there every two weeks and a haircut every 6 or 8. He's a furry little guy who gets matted easy. I wouldn't take him anywhere else. My dog went in there a dirty smelly animal. I waited and watched Bethany and her family prepare Disco for the prom! They were so caring and gentle. She's just a pup. Dan got in the tub with her because she was trembling! I almost cried. She got lots of treats and kisses from their daughter, Bethany's clipper skillz were amazing and Disco says she feels like she was pampered. She wants sparkle glitter clear coat over the pink nail polish every time now! She is a joy to snuggle again. Soft and fluffy and fresh. I think she even got her teeth brushed because her kisses weren't stinky anymore. Who cares though. I'll take puppy kisses however I can get them. read more

From start to finish, we were pleased with our experience! Easy communication on the phone to schedule our appointment. Once there the receptionist took the time to ask us what we like and do not like about our goldendoodle's style, verified the length, ear and tail type of preferences too. We recently had our very shaggy dog, Finnick, shaved for the summer. It was a pretty big job and he looked great! He was very happy and relaxed when we picked him up, always a telling sign. We now bring him in regularly to get his nails trimmed. They make the whole process easy and fast! Very happy with everyone here! And easy to park around back, key for Newport! read more

Don't go here..... Lies and excuses Took my dog to get washed and flea dip, was told they would get rid of the fleas. They told me the dog had no fleas and still charged me 60 dollars to wash the dog. Also included in that price was clipping the dogs nails and cleaning the ears, which neither was done and still charged full price. I called to tell them about my issues and was told it was not there problem and they hung up the phone on me. Stay away poeple terrible service. Stick with petco. read more

We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful young woman who thoroughly explained the pricing and services. The dogs waiting to be groomed got to play together which was an added bonus. We were asked if it would be ok to have our Westie play or if we preferred to have her crated. We were also asked about preferences and if there was anything they needed to know. They were very thorough and very knowledgeable. It is hard to find someone to do a great Westie cut, but they were able to do an outstanding job.
