His undercoat was ridiculous--the more we brushed, the more he shed. So after the stinky cheese incident (see what I did there?), I was thrilled to get an appointment from a cancellation the same week. So today he went to the Salon, and let me tell you, they are NOT salon prices which almost scared me off. The love everyone had for dogs, and the respect they had for our preference for a natural look will keep me coming back...as long as I can quit procrastinating. :D Everything you could want from a groomer.

Then I showed up for my appt on Wednesday and the pet salon was closed and the voicemail box was full. There was no notice on the door and none of the neighboring businesses knew what was going on. I finally received a return call on Saturday and was told that their computers were down and they closed for the week. I questioned this because the last time I was there they pulled out an index card that all my info on it, then she told me that the owner was ill and I suggested it would have been helpful for someone to put a notice on the door and she changed her story again that the owner had a family emergency... hard to know what the true reason is, but I do know that I will not be returning.

I won't be recommending this place. I'm incredibly disappointed by the way my final interaction…read morewith Luke & Company was handled. My dog, Buddy, had been groomed by Valerie at Luke & Company for more than four years. Valerie knew Buddy well, and for years I trusted her to care for him. Sadly, Buddy was recently diagnosed with cancer and passed away just a week ago. It took me some time to finally work up the nerve to call Luke & Co. because I wanted Valerie to know that Buddy had passed. When I called, I was shocked to be told that they could not find any record of Buddy or me as clients after more than four years of nail trimming appointments. I asked for Valerie and was told she wasn't available, so I left a message for her to call me back. The next day, I didn't receive a response so I called again. During that conversation, I was told by the manager, Annie, that I was "not a good fit" for Luke & Co. anymore. (WHAT) Considering why I was calling, that response was incredibly hurtful. My dog had died. There was no future grooming relationship to end. I wasn't calling to make an appointment or ask for anything from the business. I was trying to tell the person who had groomed and cared for Buddy for four years that he was gone. I also struggle to understand how there was supposedly no record of us being clients, yet I could simultaneously be told that I was no longer a good fit for them. I understand that businesses have the right to decide who they want as clients. But after four years of bringing Buddy here, I expected some basic respect and understanding, and I received a door slammed in my face. I simply hoped that after four years, someone might acknowledge some basic compassion and I know Valerie cared about Buddy. (I wouldn't be surprised if they still didn't tell her). Whatever positive experiences I had over those four years with Valerie are unfortunately overshadowed by how I was treated at the very end. Being made to feel dismissed by a business that had cared for him for years made an already painful situation worse.

I took my miniature poodle here for the first time to get a full groom about a month ago and I'm…read moreonly leaving a review to warn poodle owners to AVOID this place at all costs. The groomers here are not qualified to groom a poodle whatsoever. And before the shop tries to leave a comment saying my dog was matted, he was NOT. I brush and bath my dog at home with salon-quality Chris Christensen products and thoroughly brushed/combed him the day before his groom. They gave my poodle the most sloppy, choppy, and unprofessional groom I have ever seen in my life. He looked he had been air or caged dry, both of which are NOT supposed to be done at all since it causes more matting for poodles. His coat was also not brushed at all, which is a huge red flag. I also suspect they are not using salon grade shampoo and conditioner. Additionally, they gave him these weird bald spots on his chest like they trimmed him way too short due to improper shearing techniques. Lastly, they had him for 3.5 hours which is unheard of for a professional groom. Normally, grooming sessions take 2 hours for a mini poodle. When I got home, I had to give him a bath, hand dry him, and brush him because his coat was in such horrible condition. For anybody thinking of taking their poodle here, DO NOT. For any existing customers with a poodle, they are hacking your poodle's coat and there are much better groomers out there. The responsible thing for a groomer to do is it to turn away dogs they are unable or unqualified to groom.
