His price was higher than the other two estimates we had. There was a bad Mildue problem and when they used there cleaner they promote it worked wonderfully. I had white grout e redone and sealed and it looks great. I had grout Smith clean and paint the grout in many tile floors in my house on July 5, 2021. The total cost of the job was $1,630. In general the work was good, although it took many many washings for the tile to loose the dull haze that was left when they were done, and restore to the original shine. The only problem was one loose bathroom tile that clicked when I stepped on it after getting out of the shower. For $50 they said they could re-bond the tile. The repair was attempted, but the clicking never went away. I called the Grout Smith and they sent a technician back out to attempt to re-repair the tile. When he arrived he explained that because the grout joints were too tight, he couldn't employee his usual method of drilling a 1/8 inch hole and injecting under high-pressure the glue that holds the tile down. He said I should have been told that this was not a fixable situation. When he attempted the initial repair he remove the grout and tried to pour the sealant into the void under gravity feed . It was not entirely successful because I can still step on the tile and hear a clicking. The tile is still moving and will no doubt eventually get looser and looser. I wasn't upset, not all things can be repaired. I just asked that he contact the office and request a refund. A few days later I got a call from Mike, the owner. He said that the tile previously was loose, and now it is not (according to the Tech). He was "not inclined to refund the money" This was a surprising response, since this is not a "I don't like the color" kind of issue. The tile clicked before, it clicks now. I tried to attach a movie to illustrate, but I can only attach photographs. My concern here is not that the overall job was terrible, it wasn't, it was good. My concern is that the owner is not concerned with customer satisfaction, even for a small amount of money. You should beware that if you have a larger issue, you should not expect satisfaction. And to me, the attitude of the businesses I deal with is as important as technical ability. read more

The Grouthsmith was recommended to me by some of my neighbors in Viera. Ron, the job estimator, was very knowledgeable and actually performed a demo of two different grout sealers that we were interested in so we could see what the finished product would look like. This was a great help in choosing the color. We were able to schedule the grout cleaning the very next day and Dawn did a fantastic job. Our tile and grout look better than new! Since we bought our house and the tile was already there we had no idea if it had ever been cleaned. I am revising my review based on their actions after I complained about the initial visit. They we're responsive, sent a supervisor out, reviewed their work, and made quite a few corrections. I called the company because they had good reviews on Home Advisor. It was a classic case of a sales person promising one thing, and service delivering another. It one of the worst experiences of my life. They were great on the phone. The sales guy was on time. I knew what I needed done. I had a stand up shower that needed to be regrouted. It was starting to show mildew around the base and there was some missing grout. My second bathroom had grout that was starting to crack and I figured it was time to get that one done as well. I called two companies. The first company was in and out, left me a quote, but I was not comfortable with the lack of reviews. Groutsmith came in' evaluated the job, spent time explaining what would be done, wrote the estimate, and left. The guys came to do the work. this is where everything went south. They started by cleaning the floors. OK. About an hour after they arrived, one of the techs came in and said he needed to talk to me. I went into the master and he asked me what I expected the end result to look like. I told him the same thing I had told the sales guy. He said that I was not going to get what I expected. He had removed a couple of tiles (the same ones I showed the sales guy) on the outside of the shower and said there was water damage. Sales guy missed that. OK Then we started talking about the other work on the order. He said that if he did what the sales guy outlines, the work would look terrible. Nothing would match. He said it would look like crap and he wanted me to know before he started. He said he was tired of people yelling at him. He said he tries to do quality work and that there was a big difference between what I was told and what it would like at the end. He said that that has been happening a lot lately?????? They took a couple of hundred dollars off the invoice and did a small part of what I was expecting. They cleaned, stained, and sealed the front hall, the family room, and a hallway. Looks about how it looked before they started. Except for the haze on all the tiles. I have to mop it in 72 hours, can't put any of the rugs back until then, and get to live in a mess until then. Guess the sales guy statement that it will dry in a few hours was off. He said that by the time the guys left, they could put everything back and it would look ok. Nope. On to the second bathroom, Needed some grout replaced and the edges sealed. The tech said this one was in good shape. No problem. They sealed the edges but guess what. None of the regrout work was spelled out on the work order so they did not do it. And would not do it. I said now what, call someone else to do the other work? The guy said yes. What did I get for $750. Some seal work, the floors were cleaned, and I did a bunch of prep work for nothing. I could have paid a handiman and a maid a couple of hundred dollars for the same result. These guys tout themselves as professionals. They listen to what you want. They accomplish very little of what you wanted done. I'm sure the tech did what was outlined. Problem is that did not match what I wanted done and what I was told would happen. What a rip off. On the way out the techs thanked me for not yelling and cussing at them They said that happened regularly and they appreciated the fact that I kept my temper. Scary read more

Would not recommend this company if you want a job done right the first time. The initial appointment set up with Michelle and the demonstration that Mike (the owner) provided convinced me to spend the extra money and go with The Groutsmith. The quote provided was for several areas and estimated 12- 13 hours of work would be involved. The two groutsmiths showed up on time and began their work and completed all areas in record time. Upon inspection there were areas that were color sealed without being cleaned (witnessed that the groutsmiths were skipping this step), areas that were completely missed, the wrong color used in two of the bathrooms, none of the excess grout cleaner wiped up (leaving a thick haze on all surfaces) and shoeprints all over my hardwood and carpet from the groutsmiths walking through this haze with total disregard for my house. I requested a different groutsmith to come out and fix the worst of the areas and, after a cancelled appointment, a different groutsmith was finally sent out to fix the areas of most concern. This groustmith did a great job fixing some of the areas, paid attention to details, wiped up the majority of the haze and managed to not track the dust all through my house. The company did not offer to adjust the cost for my inconvenience nor was the multi-room discount that was quoted applied to the overall cost. Not a happy customer overall and would not recommend this company. read more

First Lady caulked around my garden tub and inside my shower TAN and not gray grout. Took a month for them to reschedule because people call out. Second guy came to fix first persons mistakes. Came with the wrong color and had to get someone to drive 45 minutes to deliver it to him at my house. He told me the garden tub should be caulked and not grouted because being on our second floor they tend to crack. Then went a grouted it...??? Now after two weeks it's cracked more than it was before I had them come out in the first place. He grouted the shower but the bottom perimeter of it is a tan color and not gray... also from removing the grout by the tub. The wall is crack all the way up. $400 of a complete waste. Office people are rude. I called the owner (since he called me once to inform me of an appointment cancellation because the guy called out), told him my issues of my whole experience and left in my message hoping to resolve my issues, and NEVER RETURN MY CALL. I went a had to pay another company who is very professional and knows what their doing to mend this companies disaster. read more

Had an amazing experience with The Groutsmith on 12/8/17. They showed on time and completed the job in an extremely professional manner. The worker spent the entire day on our floors, taking care and pride in her efforts. I never had to worry about what they were doing nor did I feel like I had to check in or manage the work. I hired this company to regrout my pool (the first 12 inches) because I had a leak. They came out and scraped the old grout and left remnants in the bottom of the pool. They re-grouted and sealed it but within a week the leak was still evident. I had them out three additional times to fix the leak. (a quarter inch hole by the skimmer) All three times had the same result, the leak was still there and their patch didn't hold. The owner called me after I requested my money back for a half assed job. He said that they did the job and it didn't include the area around the skimmer. I beg to differ. I hired them to regrout the pool and they failed. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Make sure you understand EXACTLY what they are going to do. Requested grout repair and got nothing more than silicone spread in the corners of the showers via fingers. They used white paint-like "sealer" on the tile floors which is whiter than the tile which looks very cheesy. They made a mess and used dirty rags to wipe up with which just spread the mess. Left dirty rags in the shower to catch water drips from the shower. The rags left a bluish stain on the tile (I hope it comes off but won't know for a few days). Unfortunately, I spent $495 when I could have done the same thing myself for next to nothing and done a better job. I'm going to TRY to live, learn, and move on but I want you all to be very careful and learn by my mistake. read more

Did a very good job, but after a couple of months there were a couple of areas that needed additional work. I called and was told that they had left me a small bottle of grout. When I indicated that I didn't want to try to repair these areas (since I hired this firm to redo my shower), I was told they may stop by my house when they were in the neighborhood. I had the same bad experiance as Jessica and Darlene from the technician to the way the owner handled my complaint. The shower was not in bad shape, and I wanted the whole shower to look new for the next rental. Mike the owner assured me the whole shower would look new after they were done. It was not even close to clean and looking new after his son, the so called technician, was done. The tile and grout was still dirty. When I questioned the worker (his son) about it, he said there will still be some staining and would not be completely clean and new looking. I told the worker that is not what his father told me. Mike the owner completely misrepresented the service and results he said I would get. This was a complete scam and waste of several hundred dollars, and now I have pay someone else again to do the job right. Recently had them clean and color my grout. The cleaning and coloring turned out good. I opted for the 10 year warranty. I was told by the estimator and the person doing the work i would need to mop the floor between 24-72hours after they were done to get the glaze off. I mopped 6 times changing the water frequently and there was still a film. I was called a few days later asking how everything was. I explained the problem. She suggested using the stronger of the cleaners they had left and using very hot water. I did do that and it did take off some more of the film. We talked again i said this was way too hard for me and i had paid good money so i wouldn't have to scrub and work at it. She agreed it should not be that difficult and she would have someone come and fix it. A few days later the owner Mike called and suggested I use real hot water and the cleaner. I told him I already had and again stated I had payed them good money so I wouldn't have to scrub so hard (I'm 60). He told me to use a brush on it. He started telling me it might be my tile. And then said they were not in the business to mop floors. I said is there anything you can do to help me? He said no and hung up. They are Johnny on the spot when it comes to the sales appointment, but when there are problems, don't count on them responding very quickly or to take responsibility for damages. I agreed for them to come in and re-color my grout. While the guys were here, I approved the work that was completed. Within 2 hours of them leaving, upon closer examination, I realized that some of the black tiles were scratched and damaged by the installers. I sent an email immediately to notify them. I spoke with Mike, the owner, and he said he would come out and look at it once he checked his schedule. No word from him for 2 days. I had to call back and scheduled with Michelle for him to come check out the damage. He did finally come out a week later, and was not happy or friendly, asking me "how do I know that my guys did it?", and said he would check with his guys and get back with me. (This bathroom tile floor was only one year old and in excellent condition prior to their work!) Once again no follow up, I had to call him again, his excuse this time was that he had tried to call but it went to voice mail. Interestingly enough he didn't leave a message. When I finally did speak with him, he accepted no responsibility for the damages. Needless to say, I was terribly disappointed and would not recommend the service based on the handling of problem issues. Mike knows how to sell, but doesn't know how to resolve customer complaints. Always ask for a discount, he has a lot of room to move in his initial estimate. DON'T pay with anything but a credit card, otherwise, you have no recourse (unfortunately, we paid by check). read more
