While there are places that need minor upkeep (tiles on the porch need replaced, floors sanded and re-stained, some walls repainted, etc), overall the place is in pretty good shape for a place that is well over a hundred years old. The nostalgia and granduer of the place makes for a nice backdrop for events, even with its blemishes. People rent this venue from the Dallas Woman's Forum for gatherings meetings, showers, weddings, dinners etc. One thing nice about it as a venue is that it has a private parking lot that appears to be large enough for the capacity of the Mansion. If you are considering renting it, please know that there is a particular caterer that has an exclusive for events serving food there, just in case that matters to you, as I know it might would be a factor in a decision if I was making it. Oine really cool fact about the mansion is that it has what is allegedly the very first shower in it that was in Dallas. I looked at it and was glad showers have gotten a lot less complicated over the years! Anyway, overall it is a lovely property and the city is fortunate that it is made available by the Dallas Woman's forum.

The hotel is truly a 5-star experience, the decor and architecture was impressive. This build was originally the First National Bank Tower in 1965. Since then it has been reborn as the Thompson Dallas with several restaurants, bars and even a chick-fil-a in the build (can't access it directly in the hotel but if you exit it's right next door). I was greeted my reception warmly and was able to check-in early due to my AMEX perks. They gave me a run down of the amenities and perks I received. The entry is a large corridor that has a decorated exquisitely and festive for the Christmas season. The elevators were wide and hallways were quite spacious. The room was also nicely decorated with our own bookcase, lounge area, elongated, shower, and bathroom with great view of the city. We ate a mini restaurants at the hotel, including monarch and Little Daisy. The Little Daisy was amazing and was a part of my AMEX perk which gave me daily breakfasts of $65. By the end of the trip, the waitresses and bartenders would greet us by name and just felt like a neighborhood French Café. If you're staying in the downtown Dallas area I highly recommend staying here. The staffstaff are amazing and very accommodating, tons of restaurants and bars inside and close by. In room service with different menu options and unique treats in room (especially not at absorbent cost or price). It's really centralized and a great way to be a part of the action of the city with the elevated feel and sophistication that comes with the five star location.

But all that glitz and glam quickly recedes as you go to the actual rooms. Our room was lacking some basic necessities and upkeep. This diminished our enjoyment of our stay. We did a staycation here for one night. Being Dallas residents, it's a real treat to get to stay downtown and see the area from a different perspective. I don't mean to sound nit-picky, but in our room quite a few things were off. First, we were lacking a wastebasket. There was one in the restroom w/c, but there really should've been one in the actual room. Also, in our room, the curtains were stationary. We could not draw them to see the view of the pool below. Another headache was the led lamp on the nightstand kept flickering throughout our stay. Another issue we had was the shower head was missing some of the little rubber stoppers on the shower head, so there were some streams of water spurting in weird directions. Overall, the grand lobby sets your expectations high, but when you get to the room, there was a lack of maintenance in keeping the suite at its best.

We booked this space for my cousin's campaign event and I'm so glad we did. Lo' and Rosie graciously sponsored our event, which really stood out to us. Everything went smoothly and we were extremely grateful for their sponsorship. We did pay for valet services, and I highly recommend doing so! This made the event extremely easy to access for our guests. Keep in mind, they do have a lot across the street you can park at. The week of, Lo' and Rosie's event manager reached out to ensure we communicated about how we wanted to setup the venue. On the day of, the venue manager was there to let us in and answer any questions for us during our set up. While our event was an absolute success, there was an initial communication delay from the venue prior to formally booking the space. But I loved this space so much, I wasn't backing down . I truly appreciated them taking accountability, addressing the issue, and assuring seamless communication moving forward -- which there absolutely was. I would easily book this space again and again. I reached out to get some information and was contacted shortly after by the owner, Daymond. After a few email exchanges we set up some time for a venue walkthrough and let me just say, the pictures online do it no justice! This perfectly modern, chic space is nestled in the heart of the design district central to many restaurants, bars and hotels. (We rented a room at the Double Tree Hotel - Market Center which was literally 4 mins from the venue). Perimeter Zen can comfortably accommodate 70 people, there's a projector to display images during events, adjustable lights depending on the mood, a sound system for phone connection or DJ set up, a kitchen/ bar area, chairs, tables, and lots of parking! I was initially concerned that with everything it comes with, the cost would be astronomical; however after more than a few changes to the quote and about 50 emails on my end, Daymond got me to the right price and reserved! I rented the space from 10:00pm-1:30AM on a Saturday night and when I arrived Daymond and Sean were already there with the light preference I requested on display and the slideshow rolling, all my friends and I had to do was put up balloons and get the DJ and bartender acclimated before guest arrived. Daymond and Sean were extremely hands on, continuously asking if there was anything they could assist us with! It was very apparent they care about their guest, and I was reminded of that even more as the night went on when there were a few times they had to remind people that they could not leave the building with any open alcohol containers (cups or bottles) for safety and liability purposes and I truly appreciated that. Most places will just allow any and everything to go on, but not with them, their desire is for everyone to have a great time in their space, safely. I could not have asked for a better team to work with, it was a magical night. The owners are true gems and I would recommend this space to ANYONE looking to host an event with a touch of elegance.
