Even my child calls this "their" Ladybird Academy. Communication is transparent and frequent, curriculum is structured and followed by the staff, class head counts are monitored and followed, teachers are firm but very caring with the kids, helping when they have a hard time, handwashing is part of their routine multiple times a day, they have cameras if you are a crazy mom like me and want to be able to check in on your child throughout the day, they support and reinforce potty training efforts and food and snacks are provided. We have become familiar with most teachers, aides, and with the administrators and have been happy with all so far. I almost overlooked this school because of bad reviews, I'm glad I didn't!

The previous…read moreone was awful not only to her staff which everybody ended up quitting, which is so sad because so many of the children fell in love with the teachers, but Monica was awful and had a inside connection with corporate and any time you called nothing was ever done because all of the Spanish stuck together so this place was absolutely ran to the ground so I hope this is true as this at one point was a lovely daycare center now I would not suggest anybody take their children to this center . I wouldn't take my dog there. Monica did a real number to this center and corporate. They are a complete joke. Please do your research. Ladybird is not where it is at like I say my child would come home with bruises that I was not notified about and then when I asked them, nobody knew what had happened to my child. You will thank me PLEASE take heed to what I am saying if you love your children like I do mine ladybird Wintergarden is a very understaffed non-caring non-loving daycare center please do your research. You're welcome.

StarChild Academy Winter Garden (SCAWG) is a great option for preschool; however, I strongly…read morecaution against enrolling your child in the elementary school. The overall positives of the school are cultural diversity among the staff and student body, a family feel, and friendly, caring faculty and staff, as well as building updates on the preschool side. Preschool Pros: curriculum Preschool Cons: Teacher retention; on average, children go through at least 2 lead teachers a year, and it's a revolving door for assistants. When our children were attending SCAWG, it was advertised as an advanced curriculum school; it's not. We withdrew our youngest child first because it's easiest to succeed in surrounding charter schools' lotteries when entering kindergarten. Youngest attended from age 2.5 - 5 (VPK). Youngest is testing above grade level in ELA (was even promoted to grade 1 phonics class at new school) on Florida's statewide standardized assessments (F.A.S.T); however, Math results were below grade level. Elementary School Pros: N/A Elementary School Cons: no technology in classrooms, teacher retention, no behavioral specialist, inadequate disciplinary action, unrealistic amount of at-home supplementing, ineffective curriculum, no positive reinforcements for academic achievement, no standardized test prep, combined 4th and 5th grade class Oldest attended from age 3-9 (grade 3.5; we withdrew after mid-year). For context, in kindergarten, first, and second grade, the oldest had all A's with 1 B for the whole school year. Q1 of third grade all A's, one B, Q2 of third grade all A's, one B. Oldest tested at grade level in ELA on F.A.S.T and below grade level in Math. At SCAWG, they introduce concepts and move on quickly without allowing the child adequate time to practice or retain what they've learned. While every institution has its pros and cons, we're most disappointed by what we now realize is a horrible curriculum and questionable teaching styles. There are better elementary school options in the area than SCAWG, and I urge you to exhaust them. SCAWG Elementary turned out to be a colossal waste of money for us - it shouldn't have to be for you, too.

Our youngest is now in Pre-K3 and has had a harder time adjusting, but the teachers are patient and kind with her. She is learning ahead of my expectations and has friends she is in class with now. There are also cameras there to peek in on them and give me a little piece of mind with the youngest having such a hard time adjusting. This is a fantastic place to bring your kids to grow and learn!

I noticed that my child was treated with respect and love; and that was so important to me in this stage of her life. Yes, it is a bilingual place, their English is not fluent, but they try to give you their best. My little one dealt with other kids from different cultures, and now she knows about diversity, and for me it's a BIG BLESSING. In my case, my baby didn't have any experience before in Day Care, I was so scared, but when I hear my little one singing songs, waking up every morning happy, and finishing her program more confident and enthusiastic; I can recommend this place 100% for sure. Ms. Patricia you're THE BEST TEACHER EVER, thank you for being the light in my baby's life.

If someone at the school did speak good English they did not refer me to speak with them. The schools location is great and my child tried out one of the classes. He seemed to really like the feel of the class. Overall I was not able to enroll my child in this school due to communication and feeling like the staff did not care about my concerns. I was extremely disappointed with how me and my child's needs were handled. If you do not speak Spanish I do not think this is the school for you and your family.
