If someone at the school did speak good English they did not refer me to speak with them. The schools location is great and my child tried out one of the classes. He seemed to really like the feel of the class. Overall I was not able to enroll my child in this school due to communication and feeling like the staff did not care about my concerns. I was extremely disappointed with how me and my child's needs were handled. If you do not speak Spanish I do not think this is the school for you and your family.

My 3‑year‑old was expelled from this daycare immediately for saying inappropriate language. There…read morewas no prior warning, no meeting--nothing. This was a direct violation of their own signed Positive Guidance Approach policy, which states that before expulsion, teachers and management "will work together with families" to resolve behavioral issues. In the email, they claimed that "While we understand that children at this age can use inappropriate or exaggerated language, statements of this nature are treated with the utmost seriousness in any school setting--public or private--and constitute grounds for immediate termination of enrollment to protect the safety and well-being of staff and students." This statement is legally incorrect. Even public schools require due process before expulsion. "Immediate termination" without due process is strictly reserved for imminent physical dangers--such as bringing a weapon to school or severe physical violence. This reminds us of another incident at their academy: our child was bitten by another child, leaving two significant, complete bite marks on his body. That was actual physical violence resulting in documented injury -- objectively more serious than any verbal statement from a 3‑year‑old. After that incident, the child who bit our child was not expelled. When our child -- without any prior intervention or collaboration with our family as required by their policy -- said something inappropriate, they expelled him immediately. This selective enforcement raises legitimate questions about whether their policies are applied fairly and consistently to all children. After that, they agreed to meet on April 28, 2026, and promised a partial refund in writing, stating we would receive it within 5‑10 business days. It has now been nearly two months since they committed to issuing a refund. However, that refund never came. We asked several times -- which card it was refunded to and when it was issued. They ignored us, and only on the fourth request, when we said we would file a complaint if they could not provide proof, did they finally respond immediately -- with a backdated document. They claimed the refund was issued on April 24, 2026 -- four days BEFORE the April 28 meeting where they promised a refund. How can a refund be issued before it was even promised? Moreover, the document also says "Credit Card Refund." But we were not allowed to pay tuition by credit card. Also, the document shows a statement period of June 15-21, 2026 -- a future date range at the time it was created. This document was clearly backdated. Meanwhile, they accused us of "harassment" and "threatening language," issued a "cease and desist" order, demanding that we never contact them again and threatening to "seek legal relief if necessary," cutting off any further dialogue regarding the refund they had promised. Stating an intent to file a complaint with a government agency or pursue legal action is not a "threat" -- it is a protected exercise of legal rights under Florida law. Until today, we have never received any refund. They have never told us which card or account they supposedly refunded, nor provided any verifiable proof. All of these -- their emails, their own policy, and the backdated refund document -- are now part of our formal complaints to DCF and small claims court filing. I cannot recommend this daycare to any parent.

I had an amazing time working with the kids at ladybird, but the downside of working there was my co-workers and the management that made it unbearable. The front office had a whole group of people in the front (J), (C), (E), (W): Oviedo ) doing nothing at all but talking, eating and laughing. If you are smart you wouldn't want to work at this place or any other ladybird owned by this specific couple, they are the owner who we have never physical met face to face. They hired an egotistic bubble-head director that act as if she knows whats best for the children in the classroom than the teachers that are there on a daily bases. There is drama all over the academy between rollies, grasshoppers, bumblebees, butterflies the director has no clue what she is doing. The Director (oviedo) should be pushed out of the director position because she doesn't know what she is doing, there has been 5-7 people that has quit this job so far. The director also talk down to her employees with a baby-like voice to sound like she cares so much for the well-being of the children but she runs and hide if there is an angry parent in the front office. As for the other director she also doesn't know what she is doing, how is it that she's a director and just now receiving an AA degree (laughable). There isn't a such thing as management at this job, but what they think is management is to send teachers to monitor other teachers to tell on each other which causes more drama and problems. If you want your children to have a valuable educational experience this place is not for you. Ladybird is a daycare not an academy for learning, its a place where your children will be bitten, pushed, hit and yelled at. This happened at the Sanford branch, but it is ran by the same corporate office. Multiple incidents in the last few days of child abuse. The corporate office hires absolute deadbeats, who then slam children to the ground and drag them around by their arms. If it weren't for parents catching the incidents happening on the live feed, it would have kept happening. The corporate office does not review footage and has no idea what is going on in their own classrooms. Police and CPS are now involved. Do not send your child here. They do not care about the children at all and employ the absolute scum of the earth to look after them. read more

The overall positives of the school are cultural diversity among the staff and student body, a family feel, and friendly, caring faculty and staff, as well as building updates on the preschool side. Preschool Pros: curriculum Preschool Cons: Teacher retention; on average, children go through at least 2 lead teachers a year, and it's a revolving door for assistants. When our children were attending SCAWG, it was advertised as an advanced curriculum school; it's not. We withdrew our youngest child first because it's easiest to succeed in surrounding charter schools' lotteries when entering kindergarten. Youngest attended from age 2.5 - 5 (VPK). Youngest is testing above grade level in ELA (was even promoted to grade 1 phonics class at new school) on Florida's statewide standardized assessments (F.A.S.T); however, Math results were below grade level. Elementary School Pros: N/A Elementary School Cons: no technology in classrooms, teacher retention, no behavioral specialist, inadequate disciplinary action, unrealistic amount of at-home supplementing, ineffective curriculum, no positive reinforcements for academic achievement, no standardized test prep, combined 4th and 5th grade class Oldest attended from age 3-9 (grade 3.5; we withdrew after mid-year). For context, in kindergarten, first, and second grade, the oldest had all A's with 1 B for the whole school year. Q1 of third grade all A's, one B, Q2 of third grade all A's, one B. Oldest tested at grade level in ELA on F.A.S.T and below grade level in Math. At SCAWG, they introduce concepts and move on quickly without allowing the child adequate time to practice or retain what they've learned. While every institution has its pros and cons, we're most disappointed by what we now realize is a horrible curriculum and questionable teaching styles. There are better elementary school options in the area than SCAWG, and I urge you to exhaust them. SCAWG Elementary turned out to be a colossal waste of money for us - it shouldn't have to be for you, too.

The promises of teaching other languages or following a well-rounded curriculum were empty. None of the booklets or materials that were supposed to be used for learning were ever completed. For the thousands of dollars spent monthly, I feel like I wasted time and resources. After pulling him out and homeschooling, I've seen him learn far more in a short amount of time, which makes it clear that KinderCare does not prioritize actual education. I've also seen teachers mystery kids here, but the director took care of them. Who knows what else is going on when no one's looking.

Just wanted to follow up on my initial review of MKA 5 years ago…read more I've had many people reach out to me with similar stories. The center has had high turnover for teachers. The director at the time told me that my then 4/5 year old son was difficult, impossible to deal with, didn't listen, and would do poorly in public school. They refused to give him additional work to do in Pre-K, saying they could only give him the same items that the other children had; he was constantly finishing work before others and was bored. MKA kicked him out 3 weeks before Pre-K graduation, so his academic career did not have a qualifying Pre-K certificate. He was diagnosed with severe ADHD when he began kindergarten. With the right medication, and taking karate daily, my son grew leaps and bounds. His teachers in elementary school were all aghast that he was kicked out of Pre-K since they could see he was just bouncier than other kids. He just began his last year of elementary school, and is a 2nd Dan black belt in karate. He is consistently on honor roll, and is an all around happy guy. Just beware that some centers really do not have the time or patience necessary for kids. If my son was one who didn't have ADHD, then he may have done well at MKW.
