The other reviews are spot on. The service is some of the worst I have seen. While the bartenders were super friendly, they were completely incoherent to what was going on around them. One spent her time washing dishes and organizing things behind the bar while the other was serving a small portion of their very large bar top. Some guys came in and sat next to us and easily waited 20 minutes to get service even though one of the bartenders was washing glasses a few feet away the whole time. The noise was also an issue. The music was so loud you had to yell just to heat each other. Not only that but the speakers were so shrill sounding it actually hurt my ears. The food was okay. My burger was burned but the pizza was very good. The price was AMAZING so I wish this place was just a little better and it would have won my return business. We've gone a few times and here is my summary after a year: Pro: wings and pizza are great. There's pool tables and a few arcade games Cons: It's always so loud, the last time we were in they kept turning the music up. The rest of the food was not great, the salad I got was served in a mixing bowl and it was so large, it had 3 hard boiled eggs. I'm not complaining about portions, it just cannot be good for food costs to serve something so unexpectedly large that probably doesn't get finished. The service always takes forever. Always. Really good selection of bar food. Our fav is the wood fired pizza. They have a number of specialty pizzas and you can always build you own. It's a fun sports bar atmosphere with table games and videos games. And of course - no sports bar would be complete without TVs - they have at least 25 (I kept losing count) at various viewing points throughout the restaurant and bar. They have a fair selection of beer but the beer menu is rarely up to date. Luckily the friendly bar staff is always willing to hear what you like and make a recommendation. And while you're waiting for your beer, a pickle shot is always a good way to pass the time. As a beer guy l, I'd like to see a little broader selection to get me to 5 stars. Wasn't great before but thought I would give another try. Nope! As a single woman, unfortunately, I am frequently ignored in sports bars. That is one reason I normally sit at the bar. But on this particular day, there was not a single clean place to sit, although there were many many empty seats. I'm guessing it was just my own bad timing because the Broncos game had just ended. There was one bartender and only two other servers that I saw. I took one of the high top tables and waited several minutes before a server acknowledged. She brought me a menu and I ordered drink, but the bartender had disappeared. I waited another several minutes for my drink. The bartender came back and served a coupe at the bar. Still no drink for me. I finally gave up and left. The place also stank of fried food. It actually stuck to my clothes. Almost as bad as cigarette smoke. Will not give another chance. read more

It's sad when an establishment isn't busy & you get bad food & service. The Waitress/Marcella ruined our experience with her uncaring attitude, no smiles and complaining to her Manager. We received (2) broken beer glasses, burnt pizza, burnt waffles, overcooked eggs. There were 8 of us.. The Manager Mike/Owner wasn't wearing a mask and just sat in the corner starring at us the whole meal & avoided coming over to our table to address any issues or concerns. TL; DR: Like the MCU, it started out pretty fun and now I just don't want to be there anymore. I've been to The Gym multiple times, usually after going to the actual gym on a Sunday morning and then catching some football. At this point, both are starting to feel like self-punishment that I'm paying for. This one isn't making my life better. Quality: When The Gym Tavern first opened, I liked it. Good menu that was consistently executed; tasty fare; impressive beer and cocktail list. Over time I discovered that the consistency was starting to wane, and that there's exactly one bartender in here who can approximate an Old Fashioned correctly. The other(s) will give you a fruit salad with a liquor dressing over ice. They're commonly out of at least one if not several beers. The food might come out hot, and it might not. Three stars, and trending downward. Service: Again, when things started out you had a bubbly and energetic team that wanted to make sure you had a good experience. Lately, not so much. The last time we tried to visit, we asked to put a college football game on (the Sugar Bowl, mind you, not some random DIII game on an obscure channel) and the waitress was...very highly ambivalent to that idea. To the point that she said she wasn't sure she was "allowed to." We were the ONLY people in the venue. The staff now looks tired and bored, and that's disappointing. Two stars. Value: The price point for everything here is fine, and better during happy hour or brunch. It's what you'd expect for what you ordered, even if the quality of what you ordered isn't what you expect. If that makes sense. Three stars. Cleanliness: LOL. The bathrooms in this place haven't been cleaned since opening night. The dining area tends to be fine, but this is why it's important to wash your hands before, after, and maybe even during hanging out in a sports bar. Just don't expect hot water, or soap. It was something that could be overlooked when the rest of the experience was reasonable; I'm no germophobe but now it's just an example of continued apathy about the customer. One star. Ambience: There's a trend here, and that trend is, "It USED to be pretty good!" I like the variety of atmospheres that blend sports bar, arcade, karaoke, etc. together. The pseudo-macho decor works fine. The attire chosen by or for the wait staff is maybe a little too PG-13 for families; I get that. I just don't really care and my wife hasn't ever, either. But then you're seeing the kind of stuff that stupid people do when they're drunk: cracking windows, broken doors, graffiti. The chairs have always been uncomfortable. The environment is trending toward more dive bar than sports bar now, and it just feels like it should try harder than it is. Two stars. Overall, what probably started at four stars over the first few weekly visits have become a two star experience that I'm not keen to repeat soon. We always set a timer when we sit down, and it took over 5 minutes for her to notice we were even there. We all agreed on eating here as we had three kids with us. We were seated in the corner because there weren't a lot of tables available if one of the kids is going to run off. First off all the waitresses were half clothes. We were offended by what they were wearing. It was as if we were at the beach serving food. Definitely not someone to bring the kids. I shared a meal and we ordered guacamole chips to share family style. Everyone else's food was okay. But when we got our fish and chips. The fish was catfish..what are you serious? Never have I ever had catfish for fish and chips. Mostly cod or even in Hawaii you can pick the type of fish. When we mentioned it to the waitress she didn't care. Nice little bar on Parker. The bartenders & bar mangers are really nice and friendly. Service here is fast, there's a nice mix of ages here. The only thing is that it seems like the really young ones are reckless and seem to stir up trouble with anyone they feel. The food is pretty good, the kitchen was quite fast with getting food out. No matter what you'll have a nice time there. 1 bartender said it was there 2nd day, but we wouldn't have known she was very knowledgeable and was getting out drinks to everyone at the bar pretty quickly and it was almost packed in there. If I could give this place a zero out of five stars just simply on the way they treat their employees I would. Very unprofessional, very unfair and very manipulative. If you're looking for a serving or bartending job you'll make more money elsewhere. Don't waste your time being treated like shit in a company or business like this. The kitchen is disgusting with leaks everywhere, the furnace never works and the whole place is infested with roaches and mice. In general, I like the place. They have a ton of seating, great for spacing out currently. A wide menu with reasonable pricing. This is my third time there, I don't like that the website says 9.99 for a specialty pizza (great deal, they are delicious and wood fired), but they ring it up as 12 something. Inquired on pricing, was told that's only on Mondays? But that's not mentioned on the website. Really at any price, the pizza is very tasty - but on principle..... Also definitely ordered the King, received the Hulk - that's not a word I would say on accident, and I've been here a few times and always get it - so will be spending my meal picking toppings off, as I don't eat those toppings..... Went there tonight for dinner. Waited for waitress to realize we were even sitting there. Once we did order another server brought out our food. Neither checked on us at all. I had to actually go to the bar and ask for the bill and 2 boxes. She came with the bill and said if anything isn't right to let her know. She also only brought one box. She came to collect my payment and I let her know that we ordered 2 appetizers and the menu said that all appetizers were $1 off for happy hour. She came back and told me that the menu was old and that only one was on happy hour. Why should that be the customer's problem? False advertising! I ordered nachos and it was the worst plate on nachos ever! Few chips covered in queso with a teaspoon full of pico and teaspoon full of guac on the side. Nothing else! Had to find her to ask her for the sour cream that was missing and more pico. They were out of sour cream and we would have to wait for the manager to get back from the store. Ridiculous! My wife and I didn't finish it. The jalapeño poppers were ok. My wife had the Reuben, which hardly had any meat in it. Charge a couple more bucks and add some meat. I had the meatball sandwich and the meatballs were lukewarm at best. I couldn't finish eating it. First time/last time at this place. Just found out about this hidden gem!! Great service, fast and friendly. The food was amazing, we had the wings... crispy and delicious! They have many sauce options, we chose the Garlic Parmesan and the Blackened... delicious ! Being from New Jersey we had to try the pizza, they gave an amazing wood fired oven... the pizza was delicious, the crust was delicious, thin and crispy... the best pizza since we have been here!!! Great menu with options for everyone. Fun atmosphere, pool tables and video games. If you are into sports to many TV's to count. Family friendly and they offer a kids menu. One word... AWFUL. First time visiting this place and definitely the last. Poorly run, unprofessional establishment for these reasons: -Waited 15 min before a server gave us a menu meanwhile a group of 4 servers were standing around the bar vaping. -Our "appetizer" came out after all of our food had already been served -We ordered 4 entrees and 3/4 came out at once and then waited an additional 10 minutes for the last entree, which was the completely wrong burger. Not to mention the burger was black and completely tough and not edible. The other entrees came out incorrect too. The buffalo chicken sandwich was missing bacon and onion (as it had mentioned on the menu) and had minimal buffalo sauce. The Cuban hardly had any meat and it was missing mayo and mustard. -I'm not one to normally complain but when we asked to speak to the manager, she seemed to be just another server that didn't handle the situation well. Never apologized just said "I'll tell the big bosses." -Got our check and that of course was incorrect too and we had gotten charged for an extra drink that we didn't order. All and all, the only thing this place has going for them is cold beer. Their kitchen and serving staff need a lot more training or complete revamping. read more

Normally the place is decent, but the last two nights in a row, we have noticed that we have been overcharged for the alcohol that we drink. Each night we have been overcharged 2 beers each. Normally not a big deal, but at $6.00 a beer, it quickly adds up. My suggestion, if you decide to go to this place, pay close attention to what you are being charged. Pizza and atmosphere are fantastic. Pool tables are 2 standard bar crooked tables with no lights! If your sign advertising says "Billiards " maybe put more than a rented low budget table in ( just a thought) You have to give them you ID to get a cue ball which we thought was strange. But what was stranger was the lost and found pile of drivers license left behind from previous patrons. The bartender, AMBER...AKA "short angry blonde girl" is the rudest! None of the staff is very considerate and give you the feeling of being put out if you ask for anything! Apparently asking them to put their cell phones down and give an ID back is too much to ask. Which would explain the multiple ID's left behind I guess...So, to give the place a fair shake, we did visit them about 10 times for either pizza beers or pool and we faced with same disappointment each time.
