I Don't usually drag about my food but this time I just need to say it. I order my steak medium rare and it was well done. My beans and rice was cold. Food looked a lot better in the picture lol. Such a fun spot! We wanted to eat and it was after 10pm. Not much was really available but this gem popped up. I was not expecting such a garish establishment! Such a fun surprise. I only had a vodka soda, but my friend ordered chicken enchiladas that were great. HUGE plate with beans, rice, and salad. She ate every last bit! Nice service. Fun atmosphere. Clean. Def going back! A steak and shrimp with a side or of a Smokey chipotle sauce with side of their homemade rice a beans, and let's not forget the 20oz margarita(mediocre but good). If I could give this restaurant a zero rating I would. The salsa and chips were the best thing here. When we arrived, they didn't have enough menus to give a party of 2. That's right 2. You are definitely on their time when it comes to drinks, requests and food. We waited to place our order for 20 minutes and then waited an additional 30 minutes to get our cold food. At this point, it didn't matter if the food was good or not. It's nothing special and we just wasted 1.5 hours for nothing. This place does a brisk business and has really delicious food and lots of variety. It did feel as though we had arrived in Puerto Vallarta with the music and the boisterous crowd. We appreciated the fresh seafood offerings as well as the delicious sauces and salsas. We will certainly return again to explore more on the menu. read more

Another little hole in the wall that I stumbled across just recently. They definitely have lots of good Mexican seafood options on the menu. The service was good and attentive. Of course they have a full bar. Nothing bad to say about this place only that it may have been a touch dirty. We didn't get sick though, so that's a plus. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover....Mexican food is abundant on Federal and this place is very unassuming from the outside. Security bars over the windows doesn't exactly exude a welcome mat! Inside, however, its colorful with music playing at a loud but by no means unpleasant volume. Heads up...they can only take debit/credit cards with the chip technology; otherwise, there is an ATM inside. Service was friendly and welcoming. Came in around 8pm and it was Happy Hour. Ordered a couple of regular margaritas which were great. Ordered a small shrimp cocktail, 2 sides of crispy Chile Rellenos, and the # 5 combination with a tamale,beef burrito, and crispy relleno. Portions were large. The green chile had a little bit of heat and a nice flavor, a little on the tart side. Beef burrito was solid meat all the way through. Tamale was moist with a nice beef filling. The crispy Chile Relleno with the combo was a smaller Relleno, wrapped in like an egg roll wrapper and filled with cheese. Menu states that combination came with rice and beans. The server reaffirmed it came with it but the plate came without. I looked at the size of the plate and figured I had enough food so I wasn't going to split hairs over it. My wife ordered the side of crispy relleno, but that seemed more like an egg batter dipped relleno,,,not real crispy but still good in its own way. The shrimp cocktail was very good. It had a decent amount of shrimp bathing in a tart, "tomato-ey" broth with cucumbers and avocado. Overall we are fans and will be back. Friendly service, fun atmosphere, good food and value! This is the most authentic Mexican place in Denver. It is small and in an area visited by local Mexicanos and this makes it feel like you took a drive to Vera Cruz. The service is outstanding. The food fresh. Home cooked no Sysco crap. We get the steak nachos and have never been disappointed. Today the salsa is just a perfect piquante! Also served a nice warm soup gratis. It's one of the best kept secret (from us gringos) in Denver. read more

Pretty descent place to eat at. Live Mariachi and the place plays music. We ordered the oysters "preparados". Oysters did not look like the oysters on the menu. And According to the color of the shrimp I believe they used the shrimp from a shrimp cocktail bowl because they were a red color like they are in a shrimp cocktail after mixing with Clamato juice. The oysters were also very tiny and did not have much shrimp. I was not impressed with presentation of the food. Also, if you don't want to pay a 3% charge for using your debit card, take cash with you. Service was descent too. read more

We stopped here on a whim while visiting Denver. the staff was very friendly and we had some of the most amazing food. we shared the Mariscos Molcajete and it blew our minds. the seafood was very fresh and the sauce was amazing. we asked for some more spice and they delivered. they brought out hot chili oil and it blew our socks off. so spicy, smoky, and tasty. i only make it to town once a year but i will be going back. read more

For the entree I ordered a combination plate that featured a crispy chili relleno, smothered bean burrito and ground beef enchilada. The crispy chili relleno was the best thing on the plate followed by the burrito and enchilada (both were not bad but not memorable). My friend ordered a marinated steak ranchero type plate (don't remember the proper name) and it was the best thing on the table. Overall, the place was good but didn't knock my socks off. This place is VERY good. The portions are huge too. My kids loved the big kids plate size. They both got bean burrito with substitution of rice for the fries. The horchata is pretty good too. They have Mariachi's every Friday and Sunday. There are also healthier options on the menu too. The enchilada sauce I had was VERY good. I know what canned tastes like and this one was not canned. I just moved to Denver a few months ago and the word from some of the people I work with is that you don't eat on Federal Blvd. After reading the reviews, I had to try it anyway. I got the shrimp in butter and garlic. I can't remember what it was called on the menu. It was mentioned in another review. It was the best shrimp I have ever had. I loved every bite!! The rice was fluffy and full of flavor. The beans were fantastic. They weren't over cooked and had just enough seasoning. My friend got the crispy chili rellenos. They were absolutely great! They had a sauce on top of them and it was just like eating at his mom's house (they are from Mexico). The tortillas are hand made and super warm when they come out. We asked for some mole to go and they were more than willing to let us have some. It is homemade and you can taste the love! We'll be back! read more

The meal I was served was not the meal I ordered. The waitress never checked to see if the order was acceptable once delivered. When the check came the correct item was on the ticket. A tip of 15% was automatically added to a table of 4. I'm not sure if the kitchen irritated the wrong item or if the waitress just didn't recognize the difference and served the wrong meal. Great experience! My hubby found this place via yelp and I'm glad he did. parking was a little tight but we found a spot right out front. We were greeted and seated right away. There's a wide range of dishes and there were a couple dishes that I really wanted to try. I picked the Carne Asada and we started with shrimp ceviche. Omg so Good! The ceviche was a large portion so worth the price. the Carne asada plate came with rice, beans, guacamole and salad. So GOOD! I left room for fried ice cream and it was delish!
