This is a true craft cocktail bar that also has a solid beer list and a decent bar menu. We got here on a Friday around 6pm and were lucky enough to find 2 seats at the bar as it was pretty packed. The place is dark with a long bar with various booths to sit and bourbon barrel tables to stand near and shoot the crap with. There are no pool tables, dart boards or games; it's just a cool bar to socialize. We stopped in during happy hour which is from 4-630 and is Monday-Saturday. They offer 2.00 off menu items, 5.00 well Old Fashioneds and a bunch of other 5.00 specials. They literally have 5 variations of the Old Fashioned on their menu. I tried The Mississippi variation which is made with a Barq's root beer reduction. It was a solid take on the drink. The ladyfriend had a perfectly made extra dirty vodka martini and was pleased. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to order any food but I definitely will if I'm ever back in Mobile as this is my kind of place. read more

I was there with my son, daughter-in-law and two friends last night spent $75. I love this bar but unfortunately I no longer will be coming to this bar. I was asked to leave because I had an old ready Trump hat on and respectfully walked out of the bar. Without an issue then the bartender came out onto the street and told me that there was a political dress code. Mind you I had gone in and out of the bar several times to have a cigarette out on the street the doorman didn't seem to notice. The bartender told me since we won the election it was people like us that made their patrons uncomfortable. I was there for an hour and a half and I have been there many times before with my head on without an issue you people need to post some thing on your door that says no political clothing allowed, don't tell me after I spent $75 and then come and attack verbally my wife and I when we did absolutely nothing wrong. Woke is dying fellas you need to get with the times so if you need a safe place, go there because they will cater to your needs.It really sucks because I enjoyed the place in the past so guys if you're reading this why did you let me stay for an hour and a half and then throw me out with after we had a 75 dollar bill. First time ever visiting this establishment with my girlfriends for a girls night out and we had the greatest time here. It was packed but the bartenders where not only quick they where enthusiastic, fun and friendly. The drinks where amazing and so was the food! Delightfully impressed! OMG!!! The food is soooooo good. I wish it had a time when kids were allowed so that I can go more often. The Japanese Fried Chicken is amazing and the Brussel sprouts and green beans are absolute must. Atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. This is it. This is the best cocktail bar in America. There's no better way to describe the drinks as "art". High quality liqueurs and garnishes, vast array of flavors and types (want something fruity? Sour? Bold? They've got indications for each following the ingredients you may never have heard of before on the menu!), presentations that you have GOT to post on Instagram, and the bartenders' skill and swiftness with putting all the pieces together leaving you so starry eyed at the bar you forget to take your drink when he hands it to you. There's a cocktail for everyone here- my favorite was the Jerk Store (because I like gin, and it was a refreshing "sipping" drink that became a "slurping" drink it was so dang tasty) and my second favorite was the smokey Two Person job with mezcal and a sweet, crispy pineapple as a garnish. Not only are the cocktails extravagant, but the atmosphere is elegant, music is on point (Arctic monkeys followed by Kayne- appeals to all crowds), and the food is scrumptious. The small fries are reasonably priced at ~5$, and comes with a hearty, mustardy sauce that reminds me of childhood. I'm almost tempted to go back and ask for the recipe. I had such high hopes! I was given the recommendation from someone at our hotel and then with the overwhelming yelp reviews I thought I'd hit Mobile's jackpot! Unfortunately the experience was quite less then. The drink menu was interesting, a bit overwhelming, the drinks had deviated so far from the classics it was difficult to guide yourself without the assistance of a bartender (and they were much to busy for more then a shout across the bar, not their fault) In the end the two cocktails I had weren't bad, I just wish I had an opportunity to throw less a blind guess at the menu. The food was the great disappointment, we planned our night around how amazing the supposed food was. We had the chicken Katie Peri Peri, the Scotch Egg, fries, and the gyro. I tend to overlook a few things no problem, but every part of the meal had something wrong. Fries were raw on the inside, Katie Peri Peri had an herbal type heat that was so intense I couldn't eat it (my buddy and I love hot food.) Scotch egg had more coating then egg, and the egg seemed to have been cooked to death. The gyro was the best of all, but average at best. The remaining stars, are for the cool theme and decor and the belief that this place can truly do better. We came back and we're definitely impressed with the food yet even more with the 4 different Old Fashions they have on the drink menu. We've been to Hab several times before, but this was our first time ordering food. Do not make our same mistake and just go for cocktails because the food is fantastic! This is my go to spot for what I call, craft cocktails! I have had drinks at a large number of the places in Mobile, and Haberdasher takes the cake! First of all, its in pretty near prime real estate, located on Dauphin Street across from Bienville Square, close to Royal Street, its a massive piece of bar! The decor strikes you as out of the early Mobile industrial era, dark leather, huge wooden bar, iron fixtures, and those awesome light bulbs. The decor is completed by the staff, they seem to blend in wearing ties, and sometimes fedoras, all completing the look of the 1920's scene. The staff makes the place work; what I mean by that is that in addition to the costuming, they know how to pour a cocktail! I drink their old fashioned on a regular basis. The last time we were there she had a Texas Mule, which is a standard mule made with Tito's vodka distilled in the great state of Texas! Lastly, they are so good at what they do, I am a person who enjoys watching people who are good at something, anything, do that task. While in town visiting a buddy, I stopped in after seeing the reviews and pictures of the place. When we got there we sat at the bar and were greeted by our bartender Beezy. She was very friendly and courteous and took our order. I ordered my customary Old Fashion w/Bulleit Rye and watched her make it. Nothing was muddled, not too sweet and large single ice cube was used so it was perfect. The interior of the place has a throw back look that sets the right ambience for this type of high end craft cocktail joint. It was clean and comfortable and a place you can relax at. Beezy was working on a new cocktail to add to the menu so she excused herself and introduced us to Sergio who would be taking over for her. Sergio was just as friendly and we started talking about various topics over the next hour or so we were there. He also made a mean Old Fashion and a great Sazerac. He mentioned to us that they have a kitchen that offered great food so we decided to try the burger and avocado fries. They were both delicious. Overall, when I'm back in town, this is the first place I'm looking forward to returning. read more

My family and I are on a road trip cross-country and ended up staying the night in Mobile. We were walking distance from the bars and restaurants in the historic district and decided to check this place out. As we approached the door we noticed they have a sign outside that states it's only for guests 21 and over. We had 2 kids just under 21 and a toddler in a stroller. As we approached the front of the restaurant, a gentleman who was standing outside (on his phone, on a call) immediately says to us: If you're looking for a restaurant there is one there (as he pointed in the other direction) and one there (pointing at a different spot). There was no greeting, he just was rude and the last option he offered us was "or you can sit outside". We really wanted to try this place out. It looked great. However, we were taken back by the way we were immediately turned away. It's a shame. So much for Southern Hospitality! We ended up at SOCU and spent over $200 on an amazing dinner. read more
