Nice clean atmosphere. I order the small Soft shell poboy. It was a 6 inch poboy with 2 soft shell crabs cooked perfectly. Also had the an ice cream Sammie. Which was huge and enough to share with 2 people. The cookie was a too hard. Wish is was softer. But overall great experience and I would return.
A local recommended this place to us. After a struggle to find paid street parking, we walked over to the nearly empty tavern and were seated immediately. My son and I had a cup of average gumbo for an appetizer. The hurricane drinks were good but mild. My meatball sub was good, along with his boudin ball po boy. Neither knocked it out of the park. High-top, patio, and full bar seating. Excellent service. Clean. 3.5 % card usage fee.
Let me tell you, the staff here? Absolutely wonderful. Friendly, welcoming, and had our food out so fast I almost thought they were waiting for me to sit down before they started cooking. I love efficiency! Now I got the debris sandwich and baby...that is how you handle a late lunch craving. Nice, meaty, juicy, just doing everything it needed to do. It didn't just satisfy the craving, it silenced it. And can we talk about the vibe for a second? Those old-timey photos on the wall? I was living. It gave the whole place character, charm, a little "step back in time" moment that I really appreciated. All in all, great food, great service, and a cool ambiance. Simple, satisfying, and exactly what I needed. I'll definitely be back when the cravings start acting up again.
The food was great. A good spot to nab a quick lunch. I enjoyed my blackened mahi sandwich, seasoned just right. I added a side of fried okra and it was top notch. Lastly, the mahi fillet is a nice portion. I'll be back for sure
This place was great. Super chill vibes. We had a big party sitting at the bar and they brought our food out so fast and refilled our drinks quickly. I got the Mahi Po boy and it was amazing. It had good Mayo and pickles on it and the bread was toasted so perfectly it was fire.
The bartender was very personal! Loved his personality was very warm and caring. He took great care of us! Victor is believe was his name! Great guy! Love him! However.. the food. Was not worth what we paid in my honest opinion. They charged me $18 for a salad that they gave me on paper covered plastic tray. Of course the salad wet the paper. Ripped and I was basically eating off a plastic try. I stopped eating. The crawfish pistolette. Was okay again not worth the price. Cute spot. Great people. I don't think I'll be in a rush to return. Great vibes though
Visited Debris for lunch celebrating a friend's retirement. We started with some fun drinks including the Violet Fog (seasonal) and a Margarita, a menu staple. Both were delicious! Will, our waiter, was happy to make suggestions and answer questions. We all decided on half a sandwich with a cup of gumbo. Their gumbo is the BEST I have had in a long time. A brown roux base is complimented with nice size shrimp and seasoning. 10/10 Our sandwiches were the blackened shrimp and Oyster Rockefeller po-boy. Both were great portions and delicious. The sandwiches came with Zapps chips, and if you have a favorite Zapps just ask if they have them! The restaurant has a bar almost the length of the dining room with ample seating. We had multiple screens to keep an eye on the Olympics while we enjoyed celebrating and our time together. The vibe is casual and we agreed it reminds us of the best of New Orleans. Thanks Will and Debris for a memorable lunch! The first visit for some but definitely not the last!

Had our dog and were able to enjoy our lunch at their outdoor counter. Great friendly service. Worth going into downtown if you are passing through Mobile.
Great food. Plenty of bar stools. Plenty of beers and cocktail selection. The fish bowl is super delicious.
I. Love. Debris. Okay, before you quote me on that: I love Debris Po Boys here in Mobile. I arrived at my hotel, I was tired, and just wanted a bite that wasn't a. fast food or b. catered to tourists. Debris delivered and then some. First, it's my type of place: dive bar with tables. Not all over-decorated. The moment you walk in, you feel like you're in a local tavern. No one was at the door but they saw me and just let me take a seat. The menu came over, the table was a little sticky, and they came and wiped it even though I said not to bother, I'm fine. The menu: Drinks are a bit limited. Good selection of bottles, rather limited on tap, but I found a good brew. And for food, you can't go wrong. Obviously, with the name, I chose a Po Boy - the standard Debris with the beef and au jus. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for that elegantly massive hulk. Dripping in its jus, which I still sopped up off my plate. Oh, I could easily eat a second one of those no matter how full I am. Sinfully good. I wish my conference didn't feed me so much, or I would have come back here every night. I did my best to recommend it to everyone else who was looking for lunch or dinner. And I am 100% recommending it to you. read more

The food was good a lot of different type of things to eat. No kids options and they tried to accommodate our picky little guy. Gumbo was good dark roux I prefer mine a bit thicker but it was good. Boudin Balls were good and the two sauces were prefect for dipping. Had the COCHON DE LAIT PO-BOY it was pretty good but had to get extra sauce cause it was dry in the middle. All and all it was great food and ac was pumping in there today! read more

Really good food and quickly made. Loved the grits bowl with debris. Unexpected twist is that it comes with collard greens that are cooked in bacon fat (yum!!). Also tried the special of the day -- Mac n cheese with crawfish and conecuh sausage. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. read more

While I'm the Promised Land, I asked my little sister where I should eat and without much hesitation she said Debris. And also instructed me on what to get. I made my way downtown and was warmly greeted (this is the South after all) and told to sit wherever I wanted. The very adorable waitress came over and took my drink order, and when she returned, I told her this was my Virgin Voyage. She began to tell me about specials but I said my sister said I should order: "The Bowl" and I should get the Fish Of The Day (lucky for me it was Red Fish) fried or blackened (I chose the ladder) with Collards and Cheese Grits and a side of Fried Okra. The adorable waitress said she's correct, she has been here before. My food arrives and it is a lot even by Southern Meat And Three standards. I dive right in and I'll Be DAMNED (in my Florida Evens Voice) it was delicious! My first thought was "those Greens taste like Miss Emma Mae been cooking all day!" My second thought was "this is the South so it could be some guy named Brian who's been cooking with his MeMa since he was six". Again I can't accurately express how wonderfully delicious that bowl of was during my visit. As I tried my best to subdue the moans coming out of me, the waitress approached and asked how is the food. I relayed it is delicious. She said "I know right! Our Chef is Brian, The Whitest name I know but he can cook!" Yes, I told her about my clairvoyance and she thought it was cute and funny. My comment not me. Another spot with that Old Mobile feel! I will be back on my next trip home. read more
Best Po Boy I've ever had! Went with the blackened shrimp and everything about it was 10/10. The bread, yum, so fresh. The condiments? The BEST part. You can tell everything is homemade and its chefs kiss! My only complaint is that I don't live closer. read more

After a long day (9+hr) of driving, we wanted some easy takeout to drag back to our hotel. Saw some good reviews on this place, and it was just a 3 block walk. Checked into the hotel and ambled over... Got the blackened mahi and debris po' boys. Large, which came with a bag of chips. We managed to eat half of the sandwiches, and saved the rest for lunch the next day. Each half of the mahi sandwich had such a large piece that I had to eat half of the filet just so the sandwich would actually close. He had to pretty do much the same with his meat. (Not a complaint, more descriptive of how loaded the sandwiches were.) Both were very good - and the fresh crusty bread was a great counterpoint to the lettuce/tomatoes and dense meat. Got the sauces in containers and got 5; something cocktail-sauce-ish, a remoulade, tartar-sauce-ish, au jus, and I think something creole&mayo. You will not be disappointed. And stuffed - definitely stuffed. Service was great, and the interior looked nice. read more

I was down at the MOB Music Festival and wanted to find something to eat. There are way too many options to choose from downtown. Debris was decided on after a number of considerations. After selecting the restaurant I then had to decide what I wanted to eat. I wasn't in any particular mood for a specific thing. I perused through the menu for what seemed like forever. The waitress was very patient with me. I really appreciated that. The boudin balls poboy was the decision I made. My date selected the debris. My food came out and it looked delicious. It also looked like it was carefully prepared. It was artistic. Anyway the meal came with zapp's chips. I love zapp's. All the boudin sausage I have eaten have rice mixed in with the meat. This was different. The meat was shredded. It was really good. I loved the pickled onions and the creole mayo. I even enjoyed the slaw. The tangy flavor really made this poboy stand out. I will have to come back to try more things. read more

My soft shell Po Boy was fried to perfection & Bursting with tons of flavor. The bread is shipped in everyday from New Orleans. My red beans were a little dry. We were greeted with smiles and everyone was extremely happy. read more
Nice little bar/restaurant on the main drag in Mobile. We went during lunch, and there was seating at high tables, the bar, and outside. They had lots of daily specials. I could have rated Debris a 4. Nothing was bad, but nothing was great. I think it was a good meal and not overly expensive. Service was top notch. Our table ordered several items off the special and regular menu. In general the overall opinion on the food was that it lacked a bit of salt/flavor. It also needed a bit more sauce/moister on the sandwiches. The portion sizes were fine. Hot Dagwood: Loaded up with pork, beef, and turkey. This was a loaded sandwich. It was a good fulfilling Po-boy, however only the pork had good flavor, the Turkey was a bit dry and the beef needed a kick of spice. I ended up putting a good bit of hot sauce on the sandwich. In the end it was not bad at all, but not great. Crawfish mac and cheese: This was a daily special item. It had a good flavor and a decent amount of crawfish. However It needed a bit more cheese/sauce, the noodles were a bit on the dry/non creamy side. BLT: Three nice strips of bacon and fried green tomatoes. This was a nice BLT po boy I would Recommend if you are in the mood for bacon. Debris po boy: Good portion of tender beef. It needed a bit more flavor the Au Jus was a nice addition to moisten the bread. Seafood Gumbo: Not bad as far a flavor, however the portion is a bit smallish. If you are in the area and looking for something to eat, I would give Debris a try. It I think we probably caught them on an off day and I could see this place bring a 5 star if everything was hitting properly. I would recommend and I would love to give them another try. read more

Probably the best po boy in south Alabama. I had the soft shell po boy and my wife had the BLT. There are also eight other good looking choices. The slaw on the side was so good I put a few clumps on my sandwich. It's home made and very good. The place is a clean and nice bar setting and the big doors all open on nice days. The team is really engaging and provide great service. Great food and service. Give these folks a chance to earn your business, they will not disappoint. read more
My wife and I stopped in for a dinner while touring a little bit in the Mobile area before heading back to Pensacola. We use the Yelp and their reviews to find Debris. Spacious, well kept, and clean Debris was a lovely stop. We decided to sit at the bar. Our waitress/bartender did a terrific job. She was personal and professional and gave excellent recommendations. I wanted local so I decided on their fried oyster Poboy and a side of gumbo. My wife decided on their fried green tomato sandwich. For beverages I went for a local IPA and my wife one of their specialty cocktails which were delicious! Our food came out relatively quickly and was spectacularly delicious! I truly enjoyed the gumbo and the fried oyster Poboy was out of this world yummy! Not sure if will ever be able to stop again, but if we can, we will. read more

Man, wow! Debris opened shortly after I moved away from Mobile and I'm pleased to announce that I finally made it in to give it a try-- and I loved it! The flavors were incredible. The gumbo and my oysters Rockefeller po'boy were absolutely delicious. The portions are great. I was full as a tic upon leaving and highly satisfied. The service was fast and friendly. Stopped in for a late lunch and sat at the bar. Looks nice and clean, several beers on tap. Bartender was really nice, we had a short conversation and I ordered iced tea, cup of gumbo, and a small shrimp poboy. Iced tea was good, cup of gumbo was delicious! The shrimp poboy was great as well! It also came with a bag of chips which I didn't open.I was quite full when I left. I would definitely return here next time I want a poboy and am in Mobile! read more

Delicious! We had the fried soft shell crab poboy and the oyster Rockefeller poboy. Both were great. Fresh crispy fry on both. The light beer on draft was very refreshing. Good service. read more
