I think not! When a business treats me like they are doing me a favor, then I don't patronize that business. This is very difficult for me to write as I was very excited to visit Mychael Michelle for color and a press. On July 8th, I set my appointment for August 22nd. On Aug 21st I contacted her on Instagram and was told the salon is closed on the 22nd. No apology or anything even after I told her the system sent me a reminder to show up. Had I not contacted her on Instagram I would have been at the shop wondering what happened. Even after contacting her on Instagram I rescheduled a new appointment, but I will promptly cancel that since she couldn't bother to muster up an apology. This stylist is unprofessional and over priced for her skill level. I paid over $200 for a coloring service and I left the salon thinking that I loved it! When I got home, my close friend pointed out two parts in my head where the color was very noticeably blotchy and off so I called her to address the issue. There are two problems with this place: 1) Her salon is soooo dark! Any true professional would NOT perform color service in that dungeon. 2) She admitted that she messed up the color when I showed up and pointed out the areas and then she attempted to fix it BUT didn't! If I could give this place 0 stars, I would, for the mere fact that the people whom work there didn't bother to show up on my appointment date for prom. Yes. There place was 100% closed and locked on a Saturday scheduled for a hair appointment. It's rather ironic their hours on the door said open till 7pm. I got there, on exact time 3:30 for my appointment. We made this plan with the "owner" or stylist, whomever, a week in advance. The website looked appealing, high-end. And so were the prices. So, when i drove up into this hood neighborhood with a worn printed sign of the establishment on a crumbling building, I got a bit worried. Sure enough, these people didn't even show up to work! No phone call. No apology. Nothing. And we called the "work number" which was someones cell that we used for the appointment, and no one picked up. Called twice. This is my prom day. I had to rush into Atlanta traffic to find another salon who was cheaper and ACTUALLY THERE. Almost hit 2 cars trying to make my time for the sake that this place, decided to completely blow off a customer. I booked an appointment here a couple of weeks ago and the owner (Mychael "Kellz") and another stylist was there. The other stylist (I can't remember her name) did my hair. Both stylists were very nice and pleasant. The stylist that serviced me did an awesome job washing and trimming my hair, however, I would suggest that she gets more training in the silk press department. There are so many classes being held in and around Atlanta that helps stylists master this skill. Mychael (Kellz) has to make sure that everyone who's working in her salon is just as skilled as she is because they're representing her and her brand. Don't charge like a master stylist if you know you're not providing master stylist quality work. The stylist should make sure that their customer's hair is looking great leaving the salon. The customer should never have to go home to re-curl their hair after just leaving the salon. Lastly, please let customers know who's going to do their hair BEFORE they arrive for their appointment. People only know "Kellz" from The Hair Rock Cafe and that's who they expect to do their hair! read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a "professional" salon. First and foremost, I was in the salon for almost 8 hours. I booked an appointment for color and a sew in with Mychael Michelle, however I was passed around the shop several times to several different stylist. The end result was a blotchy golden blonde, ash blonde, and patches of black near my roots. My sew in was very lumpy, And to make matters worse my hair is starting to break. When I reached out to the owner to complain she told me that it's no ones fault my color came out the way it did. I'm highly disappointed with the services and lack of professionalism. When I want extensions, I want someone who values my time, puts more thought into it than simply sewing tracks, and has reasonable prices. This centrally located salon is ALL of that! I hate getting my hair done and not being satisfied until a week later when I get used to it. I walked out of here feeling like a new woman! Though an amazing deal got me in, their regular prices don't feel like price gouging as other Atlanta salons do. I showed Mychael a picture of what I wanted and got a reddish, brassy bright blonde that was totally different than the pic also, the color did not fit my skin tone nor where the highlights placed correctly. I didn't notice the brassiness until 2 days later when i washed my hair so i texted her to ask her if i could come back and get the color toned down and the brassiness taken out. She never responded to the text nor did she return my call. Since color can be tricky, i feel she should be able to correct color if the customer is not totally satisfied even after they leave the shop. I would have paid to get the color redone but this is unprofessional. Now I'm paying someone else to correct my hair. read more

Despite the negative reviews I read last year, I decided to give this spot a try. I booked an appointment 11:00 AM and at 11:35 AM I received a booking confirmation, which also confirmed the deposit was taken from my account. Later that afternoon I arrive for my appointment, I get lost and call the salon. Mycheal then informs me that she is working on her last customer and does not have any further appointments. I inform her that I booked my appointment the same day, she then proceeds to loudly talk over me explaining that I did not book anything that morning because she'd checked the schedule. I tell her I booked at 11 AM, she the proceeds to tell me "I doesn't check the schedule after a certain time","I can't check the schedule because I'm doing hair". I inquire about my deposit, the computer took your money "not me", "I would do your hair but I has something to do", "maybe I can check with the salon next door to see if they can do it" etc etc etc all in a (o well it's not my fault tone) ..... She then offers an insincere apology while stating it's no nobody's fault, it's not my fault it's not your fault. MAAM, it is absolutely your fault! You should have a system in place where bookings are being overseen. Needless to say, Mycheal was very guarded in her tone and very unprofessional, borderline rude!!!! When working with the public, excellent customer service and professionalism is a must! Second, if you are using an automated system to collect the customer's money for booking you "ought" to feel some type of accountability. Regardless of the overlook in scheduling or the lack of business etiquette, taking ACCOUNTABILITY for your actions or lack thereof will 95% of the time satisfy the customer. So due to the back and forth over the phone and lack of professionalism I request my deposit back. She tells me that she will send my refund as soon as she gets off the phone. About 15 mins go by, I call paypal to dispute and I receive my funds instantly. Mycheal calls me back, once again unprofessional, leaves a voicemail "sweety, I told you I was gonna give your money back, etc etc." Ma'am, If I have already contacted the merchant, why are you calling me? We don't have anything further to discuss. Further back and forth is unnecessary and unproductive. Given the situation, why wouldn't you think I would contact the merchant to request my funds back. This isn't personal. I don't know you. Why would you take business personal? I hope this review will serve as some form of constructive criticism for the owner. read more

I've been to the Hair Rock Cafe twice and I love it! From the atmosphere, to the hip layout of the building, to the fact the that Kelly is knowledgeable and actually listens to what you want instead of trying to do her own thing. I must admit that I was skeptical at first because I've had my hair break off from previous hair bleaching experiences, but Kelly convinced me to give her a try when she informed me of the products she uses as well as provided me with suggestions on how to keep my bleached blonde hair healthy. I'm normally VERY picky about who does my hair, but she will be my new stylist and go-to girl for everything dealing with my hair. When you first go don't forget to get a parking ticket from her so that the parking will be free. She has only dyed and curled my hair, but I've seen her cut and style and she does a great job with that as well. I plan on going back in a couple of weeks for her to bleach my bundles and sew my hair in. Give this salon a try, especially for coloring. You will not be disappointed! read more

Wth you mean ? whatever I chose another color because I wasn't going to leave the hair salon with red ends this is not 2001 when it was cool . So then I decided to do it blue a dark blue, blue where you can see it only the light blue . Blue where I don't look like a mermaid blue whatever she bleached all of my hair and died my hair blue , wasn't the blue of the new picture I showed her but it looked nice so I left it at that . I know what a difficult customer can be like after growing up in a salon for i don't even know how many years. So I left it at then . When I go home because after three hours of being there I just wanted to go home , I notice my scalp is purple I have green and grey blotches everywhere and i was annoyed so then I left it straight for thanksgiving so that same night after dinner I wash my hair and my hair looked even worse literally the color just washed right out my ends where light blue and my roots were gray and now I have patches of black and purple and green I texted this lady and asked if she could fix it or get my money back she left me on read I told her how I felt she left me on read and it's pathetic at this point . Then when I wash my hair my hair is rougher then dried up glue on a rug . I can't put my hand through so then she only didn't give me the color I wanted and argued with me about it she on top of it messed up my hair .
