So my guess is that they leave the dogs for a couples hours and take them when they are ready. It took me two months to get the appointment. It was my third appointment. I tip well it. Costs me close to 200 with both dogs including tip . Not to mention they don't like being Dropped off there. Jill the manager kicked me and my dogs out because we were late. When I complained Jill offered to call every dog groomer in town to complain about me so I would not be able to get into another dog groomer. What? I admit I was extremely upset because my dogs look terrible and need grooming at least every two months. It was very upsetting to me that I might have to wait another month for a dog groomer they cannot go without grooming. I showed late due to a misunderstanding. I live half the time in Chicago and I can say I have never been treated in this way. Typically 9 am would be a general drop off and they line up the dogs for the groomers. Which I understand. Jill did not even offer me another day . Snd said it's like a vet office you must show up on time. Yes agree with being on time for a vet because they don't line them up to be washed. I called the establishment back and asked to talk with the owner. Jill answered and said she was the owner. I cannot believe that she is the owner. She doubled down on her rudeness. She called insulting names. I cannot believe an owner of an establishment would act the way she did. Took the day off from work and got my dogs into Pawsatively. What a great group! My dogs look perfect that's to Pawatively at 1550'N Wells. If groomers aren't nice to the owners I can't what goes on with innocent dogs when the owners aren't around. They are very professional and pay attention to my dogs needs. They take you on time when your appointment is scheduled and are prompt In calling you as soon as they are done . With my 3 dogs and a standing 8 am appointment every 5 weeks they are usually done by 1030-11. I recommend booking in advance as they book quickly because their service is the best! Most importantly my dogs (and myself) are always happy to see Jill, Courtney and Noelle and vice versa. I know they are always in good hands and come out looking amazing and smell great.

Even 50 Stars does not begin to do justice to this lovely place! The salon is absolutely adorable! It is very professionally equipped, while feeling so cozy and homey. We brought our two rescued Springer Spaniels in for the first time today. They are very anxious and nervous with new people and places. Bea, the owner, and Amy made us all so comfortable. Bea scheduled a private appointment for us, to ensure the best possible experience for our pups. She was fine with us staying for the entire process, hoping to put all at ease. I cannot express how grateful we are to have found Bea. From the moment you set foot in her beautiful salon, she welcomes you, and especially your furry babies, with genuine kindness from her heart. You know immediately that they are in capable and loving hands. My kids responded so differently to her and Amy than to the first groomer we tried. Bea cares. That's so rare. She is an artist, only as much as your pet will allow. We respect that so much. There is truly no need to stress and torment our pets for our satisfaction. What a unique combination....an experienced professional and a truly caring, intuitive animal lover. You do not find this in any assembly line grooming shop! We are so happy that we found it here! Normally my partner (that's the idiot over there smelling the tree, MICKEY! GET OVER HERE) and i freak out at the groomers but not at the Hair Hound, it's a spa for dogs. I loved it. I've had a very hard time finding a place that will groom my special needs dogs. Megan is paralyzed in her back end and Popcorn spent most of his life in a puppy mill and has deformed front legs. Neither of them can stand upright and for most groomers, that's too much trouble and they won't groom them. I called The Hairy Hound expecting to be told the same but was pleasantly surprised when Bea said she'd be happy to groom my babies. I took Megan in today for her first appointment with Bea and I couldn't be happier. She looks adorable! I used to have another groomer that would groom them but it was a long drive and they were always a little anxious when I got them back. Not today. When I got back to The Hairy Hound to pick her up, Megan was crawling around the floor with Freddy and she was having a blast! I only wish I'd found Bea sooner. Thank you Bea, and Freddy too! When I called requesting a 'first in/out' for my three large mutts - one doesn't play well with other dogs - Beatrice told me 'no problem,' saying they would be the only ones in the shop during their time. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Bea and her team. I was so impressed with both their professionalism and, even more important, the way they handled my fur kids...who walked right up to these 'strangers' and didn't look back!!! Trust me, a great sign. And, to top it off, they all looked pawsitively fabulous after their appointment. A resounding PAWS UP from us. I can't say enough great things about The Hairy Hound. The price is very reasonable for the complete 'spa' treatment that my kids got. I'm in the pet care business and hear horrific grooming stories. I have 2 dogs that I recently brought to The Hairy Hound and I was amazed. First off, the environment.... I have never been to a groomer that looked like a Boutique, it was awesome! Not only am I paying a lower price but I felt like my dog was in Beverly Hills. Its beautiful the way the groomer Bea has everything set up. I cant even explain it, you'd have to go see yourself. Second, I felt like I was at home. The groomer is so personable she makes you feel good about bringing your dog. She is very knowledgeable about animals too. You can definitely tell her passion for animals. My dogs looked so good, she even has perfumes she sprayed them with and they smelled amazing. She sells dog clothes, collars, leashes, shampoos, and sprays. I absolutely love it. I will most definitely coming back. Love you Bea, You are awesome!! My dogs love you too!! read more

I cannot say enough great things about the Hairy Hound. Bea and her assistant worked tirelessly over these past few weeks to give my big furry malamutes a much needed groom (I hate to admit way over due) I have 4 malamutes who were blowing their coats and just miserable with this hot summer. They looked beyond beautiful like brand new dogs. Amazing how she got all the under coat out now I have very light shedding she knows what she is doing her and her assistant. I was disappointed this last grooming visit. My mom dropped my dog off & picked him up. Unfortunately, my mom doesn't ask questions. This is the 1st time Tucker's ears were shorter & his tail was much shorter. I was upset when I saw him. Bea or one of her staff should have come out & explained why his ears & tail were shorter. But they didn't and so I thought they botched his grooming - not knowing. I was the one that had to send a text & ask why? and I was not a happy camper. I later found out it was because of matting. The explanation should have come from them when Tucker was picked up. read more

This place is AMAZING and #maxwelltheschnauzer loves it here. Doesn't get freaked out or sketchy when we get home. I've been to numerous groomers in the burbs but mainly in Elgin. Hands down the most for your buck with a less hairy and happy hound. I've used Beatrice for 4 years now and they are new to Yelp and this location. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. Oh....bring extra cash. I walked in only wanting a bath and trim for Maxwell and walked out with a cute outfit to go with his new look. I'm booked in for tomorrow for my best friend. read more

Best Groomer in town. They are so caring and friendly and I knew when I left my Dusty (cocker spaniel) there, she was in good loving hands. She looks like a whole new pup and she was relaxed and happy when I picked her up so I know she enjoyed her grooming. I highly recommend this pet groomer. Now my favorite place to go too! Pixie tends to be iffy when it comes to baths and nail trimming but they did wonderfully with her! She even did some tricks she hasn't done with us! Definitely will be my regular place to go to for her grooming! read more

It rained overnight and the boys got into mud, so when I asked if they had time to groom the foster pup, not at all expecting a yes, they were able to take him very last minute, too. He doesn't like his paws touched, but they took their time with him and did a fabulous job. I am so beyond happy with the service and friendliness of the staff!!
