They give you the option to choose a groomer on their site...... two times in a row it hasn't been the groomer who I had chosen. Secondly, everytime I say have the legs a bit longer they say they can't because of mattes. When I go to my regular groomer who actually grooms dogs proper I have had zero issues with her furnishings (and they strip her face with a striping tool and use scissors). I have show picture of before and after of both places, just funny how they give in and say mattes shave, and they're really expensive to just shave a dog.... 70 bucks to shave a 13 lb dog? It can be done I'm 20 minutes easy.... this place isn't worth it stay away. read more

It was very quick and easy to make an appointment here last minute. Took my Corgi here and they did a great job with her bath and trimming. I really like that they trim nails with a grinder rather than clipping them. Overall wonderful place and I like supporting small business. read more

This place is unbelievable. I took both of my dogs in. When I picked them up their faces were dirty, ears hadn't been groomed and gunk in both of their eyes. I called them from my car to tell them they hadn't been fully groomed. The young girl (a bit rough around the edges) who works the counter said they were "squirmy" and would I like a redo? I said I did but didn't have time today so I schedule for a week later with Krysta. Btw, Krysta is really good and should be the one greeting her customers. Its an inconvenience to have to go back on a work day after I've already spent over $130, but I go back. I arrive at 8:30 am and both dogs end up walking through pee on the floor. The nice kid asks what I want done. I tell him it's a redo and they'll need a bath due to the pee. I leave and receive a text that they'll need to charge me because they were only expecting to touch up their faces. I'm aggravated but agree to pay $70. They contact me around 10:30 to pick them up. My daughter is supposed to get them. I am in the middle of a meeting and can't get there until 2 pm. They text me later that my dogs are both doing ok but they will be closing at 3 pm. I text back that im trying to arrange for my daughter to get them. She got tied up and couldn't get there. So, I end my meeting and race over. When I arrive and walk in I am yelled at by the same young girl (with the attitude) to leave and she'll come get me from my car. She later comes out to say she was dealing with a dog bite situation and she still needs to finish another dog and then she can come get me. I wait 20 minutes in my car. Finally, I am waved in by her and can go in to pay. She then states it will be $10 extra since I'm late. I pay her and vow never to go back. With a smirk and sarcasm states "sorry you're not happy." The staff out front is primarily why I can't do this again. read more

Pet emergency this morning at 9:30am. My girl, Maggie Mae, is a terrier mix and she got into an area with burrs. They were small and grouped tightly all around her mouth, chest and arms. Those areas are sparse with hair and it was hurting her. The Vet couldn't help me. All Star didn't even hesitate! They had me bring her in and took care of her asap and didn't even charge me. They're a Godsend and Angels for taking care of Maggie Mae and making her pain go away!! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!! read more

I took my grand dog to Jen at this grooming place and that little dog had the best grooming ever. She even loved Jen and was not afraid which we were so happy to see ( normally she shivers and she was so happy and loved her). You can just see the Love and care from her as a groomer. So my guess is that they leave the dogs for a couples hours and take them when they are ready. It took me two months to get the appointment. It was my third appointment. I tip well it. Costs me close to 200 with both dogs including tip . Not to mention they don't like being Dropped off there. Jill the manager kicked me and my dogs out because we were late. When I complained Jill offered to call every dog groomer in town to complain about me so I would not be able to get into another dog groomer. What? I admit I was extremely upset because my dogs look terrible and need grooming at least every two months. It was very upsetting to me that I might have to wait another month for a dog groomer they cannot go without grooming. I showed late due to a misunderstanding. I live half the time in Chicago and I can say I have never been treated in this way. Typically 9 am would be a general drop off and they line up the dogs for the groomers. Which I understand. Jill did not even offer me another day . Snd said it's like a vet office you must show up on time. Yes agree with being on time for a vet because they don't line them up to be washed. I called the establishment back and asked to talk with the owner. Jill answered and said she was the owner. I cannot believe that she is the owner. She doubled down on her rudeness. She called insulting names. I cannot believe an owner of an establishment would act the way she did. Took the day off from work and got my dogs into Pawsatively. What a great group! My dogs look perfect that's to Pawatively at 1550'N Wells. If groomers aren't nice to the owners I can't what goes on with innocent dogs when the owners aren't around. They are very professional and pay attention to my dogs needs. They take you on time when your appointment is scheduled and are prompt In calling you as soon as they are done . With my 3 dogs and a standing 8 am appointment every 5 weeks they are usually done by 1030-11. I recommend booking in advance as they book quickly because their service is the best! Most importantly my dogs (and myself) are always happy to see Jill, Courtney and Noelle and vice versa. I know they are always in good hands and come out looking amazing and smell great.

I explained what I wanted for each dog and she seemed to understand. We got the call that the dogs were done, much sooner than anticipated. When I arrived I was told she couldn't "finish" one of them because she was nipping at the clippers. I get it, it happens. I pay for both dogs and was given a 20% discount for the dog not "finished'. Of course they expect payment and tip before you even see the dogs, shame on me for not insisting on seeing them first. Turns out not finished meant they only shampooed the dog and nothing else, $65. Keep in mind this is a 6 pound dog. We called to speak to someone about this, but no surprise we have gotten no return call. The groomer who took care of the dogs left in a hurry, perhaps she couldn't finish our dog because she had somewhere to go. Clearly I've been had, even tipped the groomer for doing almost nothing. And paid these people $65 for a shampoo. Do not make the same mistake I've made, find another place to have your dog groomed. (Also, I'd appreciate a referral)

They are now threatening legal action. I stand by my posts and have not made any false statements. TO THE OWNERS RESPONSE. Don't be sad about my review--be disappointed in yourselves as business owners. Do better. Everything written in your response directly contradicts what I was told in person. You stated that multiple attempts were made to contact me regarding this incident. That is false. No one contacted me at any point. Management only became aware of the issue after I reached out. You also claim my dog was properly cleaned and reference video footage. If such footage exists, please share it--you have my email. His condition upon pickup clearly indicated otherwise, as I spent 45 minutes cleaning feces from his paws once we got home. There is also no reasonable way this could have been "missed." My dog was wearing a large winter jacket that required staff to handle and touch all four of his paws in order to put it on. Staff were taking an extended amount of time before bringing him out, and another employee stepped in to assist with getting him ready. Given that level of handling, it is not credible that feces covering his paws went unnoticed by anyone who was paying attention. Regarding the padding, two staff members explicitly stated it was part of his care due to concerns about him falling as a senior dog. That representation was a key factor in my decision to purchase the Pawdemics service. Lastly, I appreciate the advice suggesting veterinary boarding. However, that recommendation could have been communicated during intake, during follow-up calls, or after I paid for an evaluation. At no point was this raised as a concern. You had no issue accepting my dog despite him being partially blind, deaf, and showing signs of dementia--until after something went wrong. Your response continues to contradict what was communicated to me in person. Again, if you have additional information or footage, please provide it via email. I am absolutely disgusted with this facility and my experience here. I was convinced to place my dog, Tito, in their "Pawdemics" service after being told he would receive constant surveillance and that it would be best for him as a senior dog. I was also promised a padded room for his comfort and safety. None of this was true. The room they described to me is apparently under construction, and instead my dog was kept in a cage with no padding anywhere on site. When I picked him up today, his paws were filled with chunks of feces. I was told he had an accident and that staff had cleaned him up -- clearly, that did not happen. I spent 45 minutes cleaning him myself once we got home. I don't understand how something like this could be "missed." When I raised my concerns, the general manager repeatedly stated that they have other dogs and cannot watch him consistently. If that's the case, why am I paying extra for a service that was sold to me as individualized, specialized care tailored to my senior dog? The explanation directly contradicts how this service was marketed. I asked to speak with someone above the general manager and was told there is no one -- that the owner does not interact with clients. That response alone speaks volumes. This was a complete misrepresentation of services and a very upsetting experience for both me and my dog. I would strongly caution anyone considering this place, especially if you are trusting them with a senior or special-needs pet.

Within just a handful of times of using the daycare service at DePAW (after 4+ years using a…read moredifferent doggy day care, weekly, without incident), our dog got bit and injured by another dog while under the care of DePAW, a bite that tore her ear, damaged tissue and wound up requiring her to be sedated and given stitches. When they called us to tell us about the incident, DePAW told us that another dog had 'overcorrected' ours, when she tried to play with a dog that didn't want to play with her. A professional dog daycare service needs to have the experience and knowledge to separate dogs before this happens - most often bites happen with uncomfortable dogs, not aggressive ones. It's clear that the other dog was uncomfortable in the situation they had the dogs in, and our dog got the worst of it. We feel this was a preventable accident and likely a result of either staff not recognizing the energies of the dogs under their care, or them taking on more dogs than they can handle at one time. A dog who is uncomfortable enough to seriously bite and injure another dog should not be in the same room as a playful dog who wants to initiate play with others. Perhaps even more disappointing on a personal level was the conduct of DePAW in the aftermath, and how transactional and impersonal our interactions with them have felt. When calling us to tell us what happened they never apologized for our dog getting hurt there (I am sure this is a liability thing they are trained to do) and they did not follow up afterwards to see how our dog was doing. We only heard from them after we sent an email expressing disappointment a week later - we did hear an apology then, to their credit. I'm sure we've signed a waiver giving away all of our rights in terms of compensation and vet bills, so we didn't even try to ask DePAW for help with the hundreds of dollars of medical bills we have incurred due to this incident, but they didn't even waive the $35 daycare charge for the day she got hurt. I guess a dollar is a dollar. I don't think I've ever taken the time to write a negative Yelp review when we've had a bad experience, particularly with local businesses, but given this experience I don't feel like DePAW is necessarily a safe or caring place to leave your dog and so for that reason I feel that people should hear our experience. Again, we've taken both our dogs to a different doggy day care for 4+ years on a weekly basis and always felt they were safe and well taken care of by people who were attentive and cared for the wellbeing of our pups. That's not at all how I've felt interacting with DePAW - it feels very much like they care about your dollars, not your dogs. I can't speak to their other services, and I'm sure there are people working here who truly love dogs, but I'd strongly recommend you look elsewhere for safer, more caring and less transactional daycare options.

I have called to make appointments and to order a supplement, which they shipped to me (I appreciated not having to drive an hour there and back to get it). Yes, when you book a first time appointment it takes a couple months to get in with Dr. Grant. She is very popular. When I needed a more urgent visit I was able to book an emergency visit for approximately $100. As long as the staff disclosed this amount and why, I was fine with it. I saw they have boarding, the cats that were in the cat boarding looked pretty happy and it appeared to be clean and tidy in the boarding room.

I just took my rescue Prince the 8 month old doberman here for nail trims and it turned out great! He was very anxious but the girls were patient and kind, reassuirng and did a great job. I used to take my previous boy Nick the Doberman here (before he passed away last month). toward the end, he was having issues with his back due to wobblers (which is a disc issue). Our Lhasa Maltese, Lanie, has never been a fan of going to the groomer. When we bring her to All Star she heads right for the gate to the grooming area and is happy to go. She's taken care of beautifully every time we go and whoever you talk to in the shop is always pleasant, asks if there are any special needs and you can really tell they are all about the animals. The first time we went Lanie was so relaxed she was sleeping behind the reception desk when I went to pick her up! read more

My dog has no use of his back legs because of this place. He walked in and was carried out. My dog is now immobilized for 6 weeks with a herniated disc and possibly neurological damage. Hopefully he will recover from this horrible care that was given to our family member. Definitely would not recommend! read more
