Not happy with this place. The first time I ate here was in person and it was great. After that, I ordered for pick up. It's clear they don't care about customers when you order pick up. Both times my crab cake was dressed with wilted, rotting lettuce and both times they failed to include the tartar sauce that was asked for (and on the receipt!). For the price, the fact they still get a full tip, and they don't even have to bus a table, they should pay attention to the details. Really disappointing. I visited The Harbor Grille on a weekday for dinner and was a seated right away outdoors, at my request. (The restaurant has indoor, covered patio, and deck seating, so the latter seemed perfect given the weather.) Our waitress was a young lady who greeted us right away and brought us menus. The food menu has a variety of appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches, a couple pasta options, and a few other seafood entrees. For my dinner I ordered the seafood carbonara, which was good. There was a variety of seafood (shrimp, salmon, scallops) and a good portion of pasta. The only thing I would change is how creamy the sauce was. I love a good white sauce, but my pasta was more on the soupy side, which was a bit disappointing. Would pay $35 for it again? Probably not. I'd try a sandwich instead or the fish and chips. Overall, I'm glad I finally visited The Harbour Grille but I'm not putting it high on my list any time soon unless I'm in the area and wish to have a drink by the water. read more

We visited The Harbour Grill for a graduation dinner, and while the atmosphere was lively overall, the section where our party was seated felt disconnected from the rest of the restaurant. It was noticeably quieter, with no music, and lacked the energy and ambiance that seemed to be present elsewhere in the restaurant. Our server, Maddy, did a great job managing a large party of around 15 people. While we did have to remind her about a few condiments that were forgotten, that's understandable given the size of our group and the fact that she appeared to be handling a lot on her own. Throughout the evening, she remained friendly, professional, and accommodating. As for the food, I was starving and decided to stick with appetizers. I ordered the fried pickles, hush puppies, and chicken wings. The chicken wings were the standout of the meal. They were fried hard just the way I like them, and the spicy honey garlic sauce was the perfect compliment sweet, spicy, and packed with flavor. The hush puppies were decent, but the accompanying "whipped cinnamon honey butter" missed the mark for me. It was overwhelmingly sweet and lacked the rich, buttery flavor I expected. It was also brown and not the buttery yellow of whipped butter I was expecting. Instead of tasting like a butter spread, it tasted more like straight sugar, which didn't pair well with the hush puppies in my opinion. Unfortunately, the fried pickles were a major disappointment. As someone who absolutely loves fried pickles, these were probably the least enjoyable I've ever had. The restaurant uses pickle spears rather than the traditional pickle chips, and the batter didn't adhere well to the pickle. Most of it fell off after the first bite, leaving me essentially eating a warm pickle spear. I think cutting the spears into bite-sized pieces and ensuring they're thoroughly dried before battering would greatly improve both the texture and crunch. They simply lacked the crispy, flavorful bite I was hoping for. One bright spot beyond the wings was my Moscow Mule. It was delicious, strong, and reasonably priced. Overall, if I return, it will likely be during happy hour to enjoy the bar area or the outdoor patio with a Moscow Mule and an order of those wings. While there were some misses, there were enough positives to make me willing to give The Harbour Grill another try. read more

I got the blackened chicken Alfredo and my boyfriend got the burger. Our food was very well seasoned and the pasta had the perfect amount of sauce and protein. The restaurant was very clean and the service was great! I'm glad we finally got to try this place out and we will certainly return. Dogs are allowed on their patio, they have weekday specials, and karaoke and live music on the weekends which we plan to check out soon read more

Location is too good to be wasted on a poorly managed restaurant. The food is okay. The service leaves a lot to be desired, mostly because they constantly seemed understaffed. We have table dined, sat in the bar area, and at the FCFS high tops in the bar area. The bar area service is not good, despite some of the staff trying their best. The kitchen cannot handle any marginally busy volume. Tables receive decent service but that's it. This last visit will be my last. Over an hour to get an appetizer (another ordered never came after an hour despite confirming the order was entered). This is perhaps our tenth attempt to give this place a try, but probably the last. Do more with a great location. read more

I stopped by Harbor Grill and started with the buffalo wings. The texture wasn't bad, but the sauce was just a very basic buffalo--nothing special, and not something I'd order again. I also tried a crabcake, which I had seen featured in their photos, but I was disappointed. The flavor was off, with a heavy, almost mayonnaise-like taste that didn't sit well at all. After one bite, I knew I wouldn't be finishing it. The food took about 15-20 minutes to come out, which is reasonable, and my server was friendly and attentive. The person that waited on our group was terrible. She took way too long to return to our table. I asked for sugar for my coffee a couple of times because there wasn't any on the table. Twice she was supposed to bring me hot coffee, the first time it was cold, the second time looked like coffee water if that makes sense. What an incredible dining experience from start to finish! The steak was cooked perfectly -- tender, juicy, and topped with a rich, flavorful mushroom cream sauce that took it to another level. The baked potato was fluffy and perfectly prepared, and the roasted Brussels sprouts and tomatoes were seasoned and caramelized beautifully. Every bite was delicious and clearly made with care. The atmosphere for the restaurant is very relaxing, very much what you would think of a harbor house type of grill restaurant.. Ambiance I give 7 out of 10. Cleanliness of the restaurant 7 out of 10. However, the highlight of our night was our server, Aiden. I give him 9 out of 10. I ordered the seafood carbonara, that dish was served cold to lukewarm. 5 out of 10; this was not the first dish they served me which I sent back. The dish had very little flavor for a carbonara. The noodles were extremely bland. Shrimp was slightly overcooked, scallops we're not good. They're overcooked rubbery. Had very little crap. Or lobster in the dish. I will never order that dish again if I return to that restaurant. Also to note this time last year, the restaurant was packed and booming. This year, where we should be during a Dinner rush at 7 o'clock in the evening, there was plenty of space for many people to sit see photos. My wife had the cheeseburger with fried pickles. The fried pickles were very good. Her burger was cooked exactly the way she requested it. The other negative mark I give the restaurant is every time I ordered a glass of wine. They seem not to have that particular bottle available to me. I finally just told him to bring me a Moscato, which was actually very good. A waiter did a good job bringing us what we requested when it was available. Aiden was fabulous again if you go there ask for him. Representing 2020 in alphabet series is H is for Harbour Grille. During Covid in June 2020, I was living in Montgomery County, MD, where everything was shutdown. But a group of MoCo friends went all the way down to Prince William County to see a band we liked. My g/f of that time & I were upset because both our cars got towed! That towing company was predatory at the apartment I lived at. We took a Lyft to the towing company. Followed each other back to my apartment. Then, I drove us to Harbour Grille since I was slightly less upset with this day. We ate outside as that was the only option at this time, but the weather was nice that day in the early evening & that night. I got some sandwich as I recall with fries, which were solid. Service was pretty good and cordial. It was a nice outside bar area with plenty of outside seating with a stage outside. Overall, this was a positive experience here. My g/f & I walked around the dock area where people's boats are parked, which was nice too. read more

Where do I begin? Hostile and dramatic staff could not get past "no reservations for outdoor seating" when open tables available. Then "we don't sit more than 4 at high tables, but we can put some tables together" while there were high tables seating more than 4. The wait staff forgot about us a few times, dishes were not bussed, etc. One woman in my party did not get her food bc she got the wrong menu, ordered something no longer offered, and her replacement burger failed to arrive for over 40 minutes, by which time the other 5 in the party had finished their.meals. Wait staff was uttterly chaotic, one waiter walked around with a salmon dish forever trying to find its rightful guest. And then we had to go to the bar to ask for the check bc no one looked at us. The manager did comp us the late arriving burger, but overall, snotty obnoxious staff, disorganized service, okay food, lovely ambiance, and looks like a pretty nice bar. The atmosphere and bar is the only reason it got more than 1 star. I will not be returning, notr will I recommend. read more

Now, of course, there were plenty of other restaurants to visit, but this one won us both over. It was super easy to make reservations online and even easier to locate. This place literally sits on the Occoquan River and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Combined, we ordered the following. Summer Sangria Crush Chicken Club (Fried) Pickle Fries House Salad (Small) Everything was picture perfect, well plated, and yum. We received great service by Asia and was very comfy. The views were amazing, and the outdoor fans treated us well. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to have a great, chill time w gorge views and great service. read more

We ordered Fish and Chips + extra Brussels sprouts. My daughter got Fish and only Brussels but no chips, but paid for chips. My hubby like his bang bang shrimp I tried them and they were so good. My fresh catch was as dry as paper, my baked potato did not even have a butter on it. Everything was dry. Taste ok but not worth the price. We visited this place on a Sunday afternoon. There's a large parking area and the space inside is much larger than it looks from the outside. I was a little upset to see that their brunch was until 2pm and we couldn't order anything from the dinner menu, even though we were there just 20 minutes prior to 2. I ended up ordering the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and bacon. It was ok, but nothing special. I also ordered a cranberry mule. It was good, strong on the sugary side, so if you like your drinks sweet then this is a good one. I tried a few fries and the pickle fries from someone else's plate and those were really good. The service was extremely slow, especially since the place was not crowded, at all, so we were a little frustrated with that. Came here for a after party breakfast date with a bunch of friends after a long night of drinking. We wanted some breakfast and a place where dogs are welcomed. This place has a nice patio area and to my surprise I have never ate there, but have been there prior to covid to do some maintenance there. Anywho, service was a little bit all-over the place some were nice and some were stand off-shore. Our server was there, but also was very hard to find when we needed him. He also kept bringing items that one of our girl's did not order...weirdly enough he was writing everything down so I don't quite understand the mistake. Anyways she was too sweet to say something, but she paid for 3 items on her check that was never ordered. I am very very particular when I order things, I read the menu and ingredients thoroughly. On the menu many things caught my eye, but I always want to try shrimp and grits everytime I see it. So that's what I ended up ordering. The menu stated that it comes with 5 "jumbo" shrimp, these were about a 22-25 ppu. Not jumbo...and missing one in two of the shrimp and grits ordered. I made sure that I got my fifth and one for my friend who was missing hers too. Taste? 10/10. It was the perfect balance on texture, cheese bacon, and grits were perfectly cooked. Probably the best shrimp and grits I've ever had in a restaurant tbh. Anyways, I did notice they have $10 mimosa and bloody Mary bar(not unlimited), but you can build your own. I'll be back to try that out. Tried some chicken and waffles with my friend and it was pretty decent too. 7/10. Gravy was very yummy and not too running at all! read more

**Disappointing First Visit** My first visit to Harbour Grille was, unfortunately, very disappointing. My fiancée and I requested to sit outside since it was a beautiful day, but the service from that point on was extremely slow. We waited about 30 minutes just to get water, another 20 minutes to place our drink order, and another 30-45 minutes before we were able to order food. We ordered a build-your-own burger and a salmon Caesar salad. When the food finally arrived (another 30 minutes later), the burger came without cheese, and the salad had a vinaigrette-based dressing--something not mentioned on the menu and not what I expected from a Caesar salad. We had to send both dishes back: the burger to add the missing cheese, and the salad because I don't care for vinaigrette dressings. When we expressed our concerns, our server told us they would take 50% off the salad. I had only taken two bites--not even close to half. We spoke with the manager(Amanda) , who explained that our server was new and overwhelmed, and that 50% off was all she could offer. She also gave us a complimentary coupon of HUSH PUPPIES as an additional "accommodation," since she said she couldn't comp the entire meal. On top of that, she mentioned that the salmon Caesar was what I "requested," as though that justified the lack of a proper menu description and service . To top it off, after asking for our check, we waited another 30 minutes before we had to track down Amanda just to pay and leave. As someone who works in customer service, I found the justifications unhelpful. If this is the standard experience when the restaurant is busy, perhaps it's time to reevaluate staffing levels or improve training and communication. I understand things can get hectic -- but this felt like disorganization, not just a busy day. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, this experience doesn't encourage us to return . This is our first time here the two girls at the hostess stands were nice and they complimented us and directed us to the outside bar. We then got to the outside bar. Nobody greeted us being that it was busy and I am also a bartender I understood but 10 minutes went past, and we still stood there with nobody greeting us or even acknowledging us to let us know that they would be with us 3 to 4 employees constantly walked past us without saying anything. Finally, after 15 minutes, a young man rudely ask us what we want to drink. We then told him we were not drinking If we could just have a menu he placed the menus in front of us and off he went another 15 minutes goes past nobody still speaks to us while they continue to help people around us after 35 minutes of standing at the bar, not being waiting on or even helped we finally decided to leave. I did have a Caesar salad for appetizer, and my friends had other appetizers.
