I love their build-a-burger concept-- you choose your bread, cheese, temperature, toppings, and burger size (4 or 7 oz). I had to get the lettuce wrap because I'm GONNA eat their delicious fries (and you gotta cut somewhere)! Their combo (burger, fries, and drink) isn't the cheapest, but this is the tastiest, juiciest burger I've had in Alexandria. One bite and the juice oozes out of the sandwich-- all over your fries. Messy and mouth-watering! Inside is brightly lit, clean, and has a TV (captions on that day). Cashier was efficient, got our orders right, and brought them to the table. I needed help getting my dad's walker to the car and 2 of the guys came to help us to the car and refused a tip (even though they do take tips for the food service). So nice. We left stuffed and satisfied. I'm sure I'll be coming back here again and again.

Ring of Fire burger for $13.50 lol

The price for just a burger is crazy to me like it's not a gourmet burger lol I can understand if it was but it's just a regular burger with onion rings and it's not even spicy like that so idk why it's even called ring of fire burger lol

The food was just ok. I liked that the bun doesn't get soggy, but in every other aspect we all agreed 5guys is better. Where they might be a good place for you is if you are vegan or vegetarian. Service was ok we walked in and there was no line so we were helped quickly. I thought the chicken fingers were better than the burger. I was a little disappointed my burger did not come with all the condiments I asked for. We were all tired and wanted a quick bite so I didn't feel like going back to ask for the condiments I wanted. I was eating my burger and then noticed a worker in the kitchen with their fingers in their mouth like biting their nails or something and then just back to work. I was grossed out. Maybe they would wash their hands before preparing more I have no clue. The cook prepares burgers in an open kitchen. He seemed to be efficient and hard working. It's laid back with a few tables if you want to eat in store. Previously I saw a lot of people order take out. We probably won't be back but if you have family members with certain dietary needs this might be a good option for you.

Found this place by accident trying to go to another spot. The inside was pretty nice and clean. The food came out fairly quick considering the fact they make it on the spot. The burger itself was really juicy!! I loved how each bite was packed with juicy flavor. I also thought the size of the burger was great for the price! The fries were just okay, nothing special. Overall I would def come back for their amazing burgers if i'm nearby (:

Best burger place I've been to. I've been coming here pretty often and they haven't missed once. Try this order: BYOB - Brioche bun + American cheese + mushrooms/pineapple/ketchup/mustard/onion/lettuce The meat is cooked fresh. The burger just tastes so fresh itself. Comes out burning hot after about 8minutes or so. Staff is typically friendly and willing to help and be patient. Place has plenty tables and chairs! Would definitely give this place a shot!!

Pretty good burger place that rivals other burger joints in the area in terms of food quality. Came here on a Sunday and it was relatively empty. The service was quick and the place seemed clean overall. The burgers came hot and the fries were very tasty. Compared to other similar burger places, the prices are pretty good for what you get. Overall, stop by and try these burgers.

Love finding new spots to eat at. I wanted a burger and the first place I had selected was not open. The Burger Shack came to the rescue! Located in a small shopping center, I was quite surprised. The burger shack has a little bit of everything burgers, fries, hot dogs, milk shakes and even vegetarian options. You can build your own burger or they even have several specialty burgers to choose from. I decided to go with the pineapple teriyaki specialty burger. The burger came with a pineapple slice, teriyaki sauce, bacon and cheese served on a brioche bun. They have 7 bun options to choose from! The specialty burgers come in the 7oz size while the make your own burgers come in a 4oz or a 7oz size. You can upgrade and make your burger a combo for 3.99 which includes fries and a drink. Now pack your patience. Each burger is made to order. There's no mass making of burgers around here. The burger came out fresh and juicy. I wish it had a smidge more of salt. The fries were crispy and the perfect amount of salt. I would definitely consider visiting Burger Shack again if I was craving a burger.

If looking for a decent burger to quench a craving, this place will do it. Reasonable price and you can build your own or select from one of thier signature burgers. I rolled with a basic cheesebuger with some add-ons (extra onion, pickles). The veggies were super fresh & dressed up the burger. Mine was a little over-cooked which is why I held back a little on the Stars. My wife's burger was as she ordered it. She also loved the curly fries. Will definitely be back when the craving hits and give it another shot.

There was an event going on so the downstairs dining area was full, and our only option was the bar or rooftop. We decided on the rooftop, which would've been super fun on a warm spring or summer night. It really was beautiful up there. But, it was cold and had been raining, so it was a bit of a bummer we couldn't be comfortable at a table inside. I figured I could get past being cold if the food was at least good, but the pretzel was dry and hard. They didn't offer beer cheese which was a bummer, so I tried queso and buffalo chicken dips. The dips were yummy despite the lame pretzel. The cherry on top was that the service sucked. The guy working the rooftop bar seemed miserable, like he would've rather been anywhere else. He was rude and snarky when we asked questions about the menu and made us feel like an inconvenience when we asked for to-go boxes. We will not be back.

There was a decent chunk of the fridge for already prepared food for grab and go. Might need a little more direction for the front of house workers. Actively sitting down during their shift, delaying and using people's time to just sit on their phones at the front door. Might not be the greatest look as a business owner. Ordered chicken salad sandwich (4.5/5) but said no tomatoes, registered on receipt no tomato, had to pull tomatoes off the sandwich. Chicken had an Indian marsala taste to it, very flavorful and delicious. I had the chicken cordon blue Sammie and was overall a 5/5! Great sauce with a lil mustard zing. We shared the poutine (3.5/5), definitely didnt hit the spot for what we were thinking. I guess just stick with getting poutine in Cana-duhhh. Overall would be back just limiting what we order. They have a few seats for those waiting for their food, but there is no place to dine inside. There are a few tables and chairs outside though. This is a bakery that serves burgers, hot dogs and fries essentially. This place has full pies and cakes, you can also get them by the slice. They have cookies, bars, bread, soups, cupcakes, scones, coffees and teas. As I mentioned earlier, they also have hotdogs, sandwiches and burgers. I ordered the roadhouse burgers with a side of fries. It took them a while to prepare my food. It was about 30 minutes. There were a lot of fries and they were pretty good. The burger was ok. It was luke warm at best and the bacon was a bit over-chewy. It did have a lot of flavor though and was not the worse burger I have had. I just could have been better. The staff there was friendly and helpful. Even though I may not have liked my burger, i really liked this place and the varierty they have. I hope to make it back here soon.

Lately I've enjoyed coming back with the kids for mini burgers. This King Street location has turned me off for good. Visited on July 4 for a hotdog. It wasn't even busy and I stood at the register across from the staff member who said nothing and completely ignored me. I checked the signage and looked for a self serve screen to make sure I wasn't missing something. No, she just couldn't be bothered to take my order. While I waited I heard the manager take a phone call and apologize to the caller and promise a refund. Should have been a red flag, but I just wanted a hotdog so I didn't sweat it. After eventually ordering I noticed that a couple of people attempted to use the bathrooms, which were apparently locked, but there was no signage. I saw a couple of hotdogs come off the grill and they looked great. When I received mine, the ingredients were slightly off. No worries, I went to the condiment area to get some ketchup, and when I opened it the hotdog was barely warm and still had that red/pink raw hotdog color, unlike the other dogs I'd seen come off the flat top. Definitely got the sense that there are endemic performance issues at the place. I wouldn't have trusted any food they prepared so I just left and didnt even ask them to fix it. If it's like that at a prominent location like King Street, I'm not confident that they're meeting standards at other locations. Definitely not trusting them to feed my kids.

Who was Weenie Beenie and what is it like? We had no idea but we knew they were one of the first,…read moreif not the first, to serve the legendary half-smoke sausages only available in DC. The visit was unique, the story is unique and the food is unique! Let's do this! Established in 1950 or 1954 (reports vary but the sign on the building says 1954), Weenie Beenie was a modest hot dog stand serving hot dogs and beans. It was started by two brothers, Carl and Bill Staton. Bill happened to be an incredible and ultimately famous traveling pool player who went by the name... you guessed it... Weenie Beenie! He won 27k in Arkansas (which is a LOT of money in the 1950's) and used the money to finance the hot dog stand's growth! He appeared on television, played hustlers across the country, and backed other hustlers while living the pool and entrepreneur life. During the 50's, a period of entrenched segregation in Virginia, Weenie Beenie distinguished itself by hiring black employees on the same terms as whites when most white‑owned businesses would not hire blacks at all. This made Weenie Beenie a rare example of early workplace integration in Arlington and a meaningful employer within the historically Black Green Valley community. Its reputation for fairness became a very important part of its legacy, remembered along with the food and its very colorful founder. We popped over and found a 70+ year old walk-up stand with a colorful, diverse and engaging set of customers and friendly service. In faded letters on the front wall to the left are the 10 commandments! No breaking any divine rules at Weenie Beenie's! We all chatted and I learned the one guy comes every day! The old man in the suit was very polite and reserved. The younger Latin and black clientele were fun and engaging and we joked around quite a bit. Another older man was as 38-year veteran of the armed service! Thank you sir! I heard some stories... Of course, we ordered half-smokes! They are well-seasoned half-pork, half beef, smoked sausages that are truly incredible. Weenie Beenie's are unique and delicious! Life is good with a historic, unique, fun and respectful half smoke.
