There's the main bar w singing ofc and also private karaoke rooms varying in sizes and themes. Also a Photo Booth located in large private room and accessible if not rented out. We were full from pizza upstairs (must try) so just sipping for us but they do serve fully vegan menu including Jell-O shots. All these years of living here driving by it on Powell and finally got to stop in. Reminds me a lil of old Pdx but updated. Yay! I've even heard there's been elves spotted singing here. Gotta see what theme night that is or maybe it's just reg karaoke wardrobe. Loving the diversity here whether human or mythical beings. Few tables and booths avail w extra seating at nice, long bar. Bartender be tending and all good in the SE hood.

We have a tradition of going to Mexican restaurants for Margaritas and a meal on St. Patrick's Day,…read moreand had seen Pepe's was open and decided to give it a try. Very friendly people. We ordered margaritas and sat at the bar, then ordered chips and guacamole while we decided if we were ready to commit to a meal. Great guac, warm chips, good stuff. Later ordered another round and meals. I got the chicken fajitas. Excellent. Chicken was cooked perfectly and the veggies were cooked just right, lots of flavor. Good tortillas. It was enough food for two, but I valiantly consumed most of it myself. When they brought the check, they asked if it was the first time for us, and gave us a 10% discount on the tab. Can't argue with that. This place is great, more people should know about it.

I was curious about what took over the old La Cucaracha space. I had chicken fajitas with corn tortillas. It came with beans and rice, but it didn't come with some of the other things common to fajitas (like pico, sour cream, and guacamole) The chicken was well spiced and delicious. The salsa and chips were good. Salsa tasted hand made. I asked for a side of guacamole, and they whipped it up fresh. It was simple and tasty. The space is clean and looks ready for groups of family and friends. I'm coming back.

I don't think they serve any food here, just drinks. The…read moredrinks were good, strong. But the place you order at is weirdly sandwiched between the (raised) seating area and dance floor. When the line gets long it feels like you're blocking the front entrance. We stayed at our table (maybe ten feet from the front counter) and the waitress gave my sister a hard time for grabbing us a round of drinks. Wouldn't sell her three drinks with us right there (mind you we all three went up and showed ID with the first round, and showed ID to get in). I had to come down, and be standing next to her to say, "yes, the second drink is for me." Which was super weird. There is sometimes a cover, no cover when we went this evening which was a fun surprise. It was my first time coming but my sister (in the photo) had been here quite a few times before. The music is great, they mix it up quite a bit, but it never stops. It does get warm in there, and when we first arrived we were assaulted with the smell of body odor... I hate to say it but after a few minutes you stop noticing it. They have a super cool vending machine that has all different types of fun items for purchase. I would definitely come back if I was out in the area!

They seem to be pocketing money because when I ordered from one bartender my drink was $7 then with the other bartender it was $11, for the same exact drink. They free pour, which is fine, but they don't even pour full shots, the female bartender with blonde hair gave me a one second pour which isn't even half a shot (it was my first drink)... The other female bartender with black micro bangs took an automatic tip from me, I handed her $15 for an $11 drink (which was $7 half an hour before) took my money then screamed "NEXT" in my face. She wouldn't acknowledge me when I asked for my change back. This bar is very cool but the bartenders don't make anyone want to stick around or come back, they've screamed at me and made me incredibly uncomfortable.

The front patio was a nice place to enjoy golden hour and our service was exceptional. My dad got a brandy alexander, mom got a piña colada on the rocks and later a pink lady, and I got something like a Negroni (they make Negronis but I asked the server to choose something interesting and the result was absolutely splendid). Cheers to the professionals who helped make our visit even more special.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.
