I first heard about Wedgewood Weddings through a few friends who had used them for their weddings, and after doing my own research, I completely understood the hype. Even though I toured a few other non-Wedgewood venues, I just knew choosing Wedgewood would mean a smoother, more stress-free experience. Their all-in-one business model was exactly what I needed. I was such a laid-back bride because of it! People kept asking if I was nervous leading up to the big day, and I'd always say, "No, why would I be? Everything is handled. I'm just excited to marry my person." And honestly, that's exactly how it should be. Wedgewood Weddings truly gave us the wedding of our dreams. The Harper is such a gorgeous venue. From the moment we arrived, the entire team--especially Lindsay and Jess--went above and beyond to make our day feel effortless, joyful, and full of love. They made my husband and me feel completely cared for, checking in with us throughout the day, keeping everything perfectly on track, and even rallying our wild groomsmen (which is no easy feat!). Our guests were blown away. Everyone raved about how attentive, organized, and kind the staff was. The welcome champagne was such a special touch and a total hit. Valet parking was a huge help, especially with limited parking at the venue. The food? Incredible. Guests were shocked at how many options there were. My uncle, who works in wedding catering, was taking notes because of how well everything was set up and executed! Wedgewood also partners with amazing vendors. Our dessert table from Patty's Cakes was a crowd favorite (the cupcakes, cookies, and cake were all divine), Olivia's Mum created stunning floral arrangements that matched my inspiration photos perfectly, Caleb from DJ Maestro kept the dance floor alive with spot-on music cues and an amazing vibe, and True Photography captured breathtaking, flawless photos that we'll treasure forever. The entire day ran like clockwork. We got to enjoy every single bite of food, every hug, every dance, and every laugh, because Wedgewood had it all handled. I never felt rushed or stressed. A DREAM OF A WEDDING VENUE. I absolutely love how upon entering this venue, you are teleported to a beautiful space! SO MANY UNIQUE THINGS ABOUT THIS VENUE. First off, the people were great. We worked with Taryn, Katie, and mainly Jess! All of these ladies were so on top of everything, informative, and helpful! Jess was a rockstar and really helped us feel at ease at our final production meeting. We also had so much fun at the tasting events!! I left home with the FULLEST stomach and had some super yummy food. Now for the venue itself. UGH IT WAS PERFECT! I will go room by room The small garden right at the entrance was so cute! It was perfect for little intimate moments. I did my first look there. And took photos with my family before the ceremony. It was also a great space to spend some time with our wedding party before the event officially started. Photos were perfection! Now the bridal suite WOWWEEE! So cute! Spacious too. And love the giant bathroom! Since the walls were glass, we had great natural light in there. Such a lovely bridal suite! We had access to it all night so it was great to have all our things in there that we could easily grab during the wedding. Grooms suite was awesome! A different vibe. It was dark and manly lol LOVE how it connected to the bridal suite via bookcase! Felt like an escape room The ceremony site was BEAUTIFUL. A very naturally beautiful area, especially at sunset. During our reception, the ceremony area became a lounge area. Our guests had fun hanging out at the cocktail tables, lounge couches, and even using the photobooth. The reception area..WOWWEEE!! The window up at the top is so beautiful. My only regret about not being able to have a day time reception was that the light never got to come through the window. But the reception hall was beautiful. It sat 200 guests comfortably. The dance floor was a good size and was central. Bathrooms were awesome as well! Overall, the wedding was PERFECTION. This is a super small venue that has no parking at all. No sign out in front indicating that this is the Harper. Hard to find for sure. Inside is pretty and clean, but that's about it. The name is cute. It's in an industrial part of town. Beware that no one will answer the phone after calling 3-4 times over the course of two weeks. Good luck trying to plan an event here. The Harper is a great venue for a wedding! This secluded area in Costa Mesa unusually hides this oasis among a bunch of auto dealers & repair shops. So at night, this quiet industrial neighborhood becomes a happening spot! The green outdoor space is set for your ceremony and doubles for cocktail parties. This flows to the large indoor space for the reception with plenty of room for 200+ guests and plenty of room left for a dance floor. Behind the scenes, there is also a bridal dressing room, as well as a separate lounge for the groom's side. The outdoor high desert patio sitting area is also a good place to take your group/family photos. The website's virtual tour gives a great overview of the whole venue. The evening reception was served buffet style, with the catering staff setting up food service outside and individually served. The menu chosen by the bride and groom was simple and delicious. Caesar Salad, Marinated Flank Steak, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Roasted Brussels Sprouts w/ Turnips & Apples, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Baby Carrots were plentiful, but surprisingly the Brussels Sprouts were my favorite with the Fried Chicken a close second (I went back for another helping of each :). Dessert was a choice of Passion Fruit & Strawberry Sorbets, Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream served by the staff and Affogato from the baristas at the Coffee Bar. Words can't really capture our experience with The Harper, but I'll try to make a very long story as short as possible. Our pandemic era wedding had the potential to take *years* off my life with how stressful all of it ended up being, but The Harper saved the day several times. I will recommend this venue to anyone and everyone. My husband and I signed our wedding contract with The Harper in February 2020, literal weeks before the pandemic hit. We felt secure in our May 30, 2021 date at The Harper, but as we all know, the pandemic was still an issue when our big day rolled around (mostly due to the closed US/Canada border, and most of our family living in Canada). When we had to postpone a few months before, The Harper agreed to help us no questions asked. We booked a new date for our celebration--January 2, 2022--and did a little ceremony on the sand on our May 30th date instead. Of course, that '21-'22 holiday season ended up being especially nasty coronavirus-wise, and the day before New Year's Eve, my husband and I tested positive, along with about 30% of our wedding guests, party, and vendors. It was a horrible day, and when I called Katie at The Harper, fighting back tears, I was ready to beg for another postponement. Instead, all I had to do was explain our situation and Katie comforted me like no one else could that day. She assured me that we could reschedule yet another new date for our wedding, even going so far as to waive the fee we should've paid for all of the food that had already been purchased and partially prepared for our event that was only three days out. I couldn't believe it. We quickly booked May 20, 2022 as our new and FINAL date at The Harper, a kind of almost-actual-anniversary-celebration with all of the big wedding stuff we'd been saving for this special day, and it finally happened! When it did, it was perfect. Our venue was a total hit, with so many people commenting on its beauty, style, and spaciousness. There are several different "areas," both indoor and outdoor, for guests to enjoy, adding ambiance and airiness. The bride and groom suites were one of the main selling points for me, as I loved how cozy and cool they are (I mean, what other venue could top that bookshelf passage?!). The reception space is perfect for a large group of dancing. Having our long-awaited "party" here was everything we dreamed of and more. We worked with Katie (and Taryn!) at The Harper for over two years to make this wedding happen, and in that time, they went above and beyond, to say the least. It's not just that they allowed us to postpone twice during this pandemic--it's that they maintained a truly warm, supportive, and accommodating relationship with us throughout all of it, communicating so consistently via email/phone and extending the most sincere grace during the ups and very down downs of this process. Wedding planning is NOT for the feint of heart, but The Harper makes the whole thing as stress-free as possible, being an essentially all-inclusive ceremony/reception venue (just don't forget the napkins!). Oh, and they also have an LA location called The Fig House that is just as gorgeous and unique! In truth, I wish we had another big event on the horizon where we could book The Harper again. It's such a neat space and its staff is absolutely amazing. All I can say is: book it. You won't be disappointed! The sign of a good venue and their team is hosting an event when everything around them is going right. The sign of a GREAT venue is hosting an event when something out of their control goes completely wrong - and yet, they find a solution. My daughter's wedding was being held at this perfect venue nestled away in the middle of Costa Mesa. A couple hours before the wedding a vehicle took out a transformer in the neighborhood and the venue lost all power. This was a disaster in the making. However, the manager, Lorenzo, then drove to a hardware store, bought several generators and his team hooked the generators up to the venue just in time for the wedding. While the wedding party was frenetic over the loss of power, Lorenzo's team remained calm (at least in front of us) and positive that all would be right with the world, and they would take care of this. And they did! They brought the power back up with the generators they procured, and the event went on without a hitch. I have the highest possible recommendation for this venue and their team. Their commitment to service and a focus on solutions to a problem that was not of their making, led to the perfect wedding for my daughter and her husband. They have my gratitude for their professionalism in handling a situation that was extremely challenging. read more

She was very personable and flexible with some of our event needs. The venue itself is tucked away in an auto corner so you wouldn't think much of it, but once you see those green shrubs and enter the space its an entirely different vibe. I loved the flow of the layout and the indoor/outdoor space, the bridal party rooms (with the secret entrance!), and all the greenery! It's certainly spacious enough to hold a wedding ceremony and reception for 150 people, but there were little flaws. Starting with inadequate parking outside of valet. Then the outside space pretty much bottles in the breeze around sunset and that makes the area feel like it's near freezing. The bathrooms are nice, though. This is long overdue but I finally found some time to actually write something. We fell in love with The Harper at first site. It was only our second site visit, but we knew it was the one. It had everything we were looking for: industrial look and feel, natural lighting, stunning bridal and groom suites, beautiful foyer and garden areas. When you know it's the one, you just know. Our wedding was back in March 14, 2021 (Pi Day). Like most COVID brides, we had to postpone our wedding at least once. So, originally we would have had it October 2020 but due to the current situation at the time we were forced to move our date. Luckily, we had our wonderful event specialist, Katie. She was with us every step of the way and we are so grateful to have had her by our side. Her constant communication was very reassuring for us. As a wedding planner, I like to make sure I communicate and empathize with my clients, especially during the height of the pandemic. Katie did just that for us. I got married at The Harper on 12-10-22 and from start to finish, The Harper was nothing short of amazing. I say this having booked this venue without having seen it in person before booking (check out the website's virtual tour for an overview of the whole venue). Right after we booked, Lyzmari contacted me and we set up a phone call to go through my initial questions. She was friendly, detailed, honest and personable. Throughout the wedding planning process, we worked primarily with event specialist, Katie Brantley, who we loved! Katie was warm, professional, communicative and helpful throughout the process. The venue is essentially an all-inclusive ceremony/reception venue, and they made wedding planning as stress-free as possible. The Harper is a beautiful and roomy modern/industrial venue. There is a spacious outdoor area that was perfect for our ceremony and cocktail hour. The outdoor area flowed into the even more spacious indoor area with lots of natural light for the reception. The reception space is right next to the ceremony space with large sliding glass doors which open to allow for a very indoor/outdoor feel. There is also a large skylight directly above the dance floor area. We used the indoor space as a blank canvas, which was great b/c we wanted to decorate the inside to match our moody theme. There is a beautiful bridal dressing room with a private bathroom/shower, as well as a separate groom's lounge. The bridal suite has floor to ceiling windows with ample sunlight pouring in the room - perfect for getting-ready photos, and it has a connected outdoor patio area that looks like a European villa - perfect for group photos. The Harper is located in an industrial area/auto corner, so from the street, it doesn't look like much. However, once you walk inside and into the space, you feel like you've been transported to the most beautiful, serene venue (there are also a ton of gorgeous areas around the venue for photos). The Harper is definitely large enough to accommodate a few hundred guests, depending on set up, but can also be configured for smaller crowds, and it's easily accessible b/c it's close to SNA with many hotels at varied price pts. With our guest count, we needed to have valet, arranged by Katie, and they were very fast and professional. The bathrooms were also clean and luxurious. The Harper's staff is exceptional. We went to a Thursday evening group tasting a few months before our date where we tasted different cocktails, apps, entrees, desserts and late nite snacks. We also got to mingle with the staff. The staff were so friendly and fun! On the day-of, everything was done so efficiently (there was never a long bar line), and everyone performed their jobs with a smile/positive attitude, which really brought the best energy possible to our wedding day! For our evening reception, we went with The Harper's in-house caterer, Room Forty, and bar service, Pharmacie, both of which were arranged by Katie. She was very clear and communicative about everything that she needed from us and when she needed them by (e.g., guest count, menu selections, etc.). We chose to do a plated dinner with choice of 3 entrees, one of which was a silent veg option that we selected ourselves. Katie worked very closely with our wedding planners (Fetelle Designs) to make things even more seamless and efficient. We didn't have to worry or stress about ANYTHING on our wedding day. My sister was looking for a wedding reception venue and I stumbled upon this place through Yelp last year. It didn't have any reviews yet and only a few pictures. We fell in love with this space once we toured it. The pictures don't do it justice. It's located in the industrial area of Costa Mesa and around the corner from Boathouse Collective. The bridal suite and groomsmen rooms are super cute even including a secret passageway to each other. They both have private bathrooms and the bridal suite even included a shower. With the COVID guidelines, a lot of things changed after they initially booked their wedding in 2019 month to month including guest count, and the wedding reception was required to be held completely outdoors in September 2020. We were disappointed with how the food turned out. My sister and her husband decided to switch to plated food instead of a buffet. Everything was overly salted. It didn't taste like how it was prepared during their tasting. Also, since the event was all outdoors the venue didn't provide any additional lighting besides two floodlights. If you want any string lights or additional lighting for the ambiance you must rent that yourself from an outside vendor. It would be nice if the venue already provided some string lights. Overall, The Harper is very modern and elegant if you're looking to have a special event or wedding. I understand that the food and server quality may not be the best during this time. Highly disappointed with the Harper and all of the staff. I am planning my July wedding and originally had picked this venue due to it uniqueness and "culinary experience" aspect. After feeling extremely pressured into signing lengthy and confusing contracts, I was left even more confused and to fend for myself. Questions took weeks to answer and I truly did not feel supported through this experience. The worst part was the "group tasting" 2 months after signing the contract we were scheduled for a group tasting with 9 other couples with upcoming weddings. Not only was about 10% of our food options available for tasting that day (the rest was random food) but they had served the staff before us so we were not able to taste all the options that were there. Needless to say the tasting was abysmal, only about 2 options were edible. Food was overly salty and bland. Once I voiced my concerns about this, I was informed that if I would like a private tasting it would be $150/person. After all this, I decided to cancel my contract with the Harper, while still planning my July wedding. I lost 50% deposit (which was a huge blow, but rather lose the money than deal with this adolescent venue). A month or so after cancelling the owner Steve Fortundao reached out to me via email and asked to speak with me by giving him some dates and times that work for a touch base. I responded to him with no other communication back. My point of contact Jess has been giving me the run around and it's so frustrating. The worst part is that I am still waiting for the return of my deposit! The Harper had held my money that I need for planning my upcoming wedding for over 2.5 months!!! What a scam this place is. Go with another more seasoned venue, unless you would like to be 100% stressed the whole time you are planning your event. read more

What an amazing venue! Very modern, very hip, very elegant. However, despite there being many wonderful things to say about the venue itself, this review is based mainly on our interactions with Katie who treated us so very well throughout our process leading up to the wedding. Our wedding day was on 02.12.22, and Katie was able to help us all the way up the wedding. We started planning a little less than a year out and settled on the Harper as our favorite venue. It's a nice mix between the elements described above and also a good amount of open space to be able to make up the space as we desired. Katie was able to help us by encouraging our vision and building confidence in our ability to pull it off. She was nothing but helpful, kind, and professional from the very start. We also ended up going with the Harper's house kitchen (room forty) and bar staff/service (the pharmacie) and Katie was able to arrange all of this for us as well. All of the work that needed to be done on our parts (getting the guest count, picking out the menu, choosing what decor we wanted to keep and get rid of for the day of the wedding, etc) was very clearly communicated to us and Katie was able to keep us on track with reminders. Also, Katie was able to work with our wedding planner to make things even more seamless and efficient so we didn't have to worry about a thing on our wedding day. Overall, I'd say that the Harper was the perfect choice for our wedding venue and Katie was there to help us bring everything to fruition. If you're looking for a space to hold your ceremony and reception for your wedding, the Harper is an absolute MUST to check out! This beautiful venue we used for our daughters wedding. Everything was easy. Loved the coordinator Jess. She kept us on track and answered all our questions with a sweet incredible attitude! Loved her. The servers/crew were incredible. The valet ran smoothly and professionally. What a great service. We selected the buffet and it was delicious although the entrees were room temp not hot. Appetizers were a hit... glad we went with 3, the cheese board. Nachos. Steak frites. Wish they had put more aside for the wedding party since I only got to try one. The guests said they were amazing. Everything we ordered was gluten free. That meant so much to us since the bride and 4 of the guests have Celiac disease. We had bronze package for drinks and that was a great choice. We had champagne on each table but didn't really need it. We did extra desserts that were wonderful and I recommend in addition to wedding cake. Loved the whole set up of inside outside venue. We used the courtyard for cocktail hour and brought our own games. That was also a hit. There's probably so much more I could say but I give this venue 5 stars and that says it all. read more

The Harper is hands-down one of the best wedding venues in Southern California. 5 stars isn't enough for this incredible space! As a wedding photographer, I work at a wide range of venues every weekend, so I've really seen the good, the bad, and everything in between. The Harper is absolutely exceptional. Before photographing my clients' wedding, I had the chance to meet with them for a venue walkthrough so I could meet Katie (event specialist at The Harper who works one-on-one with the couples) and scope out areas for pictures. I was immediately struck by how hands-on the staff for this venue chooses to be with their clients. Katie asked our couple all the right questions and provided helpful suggestions to them about what past weddings have done for layout, placement, and even schedule. It almost goes without saying that the aesthetics of The Harper are visually stunning. The venue is practically designed with photography in mind. Gorgeous large windows line the bridal suite allowing sunlight to pour in for magical getting ready pictures. The reception space is adjacent to the ceremony site with large sliding glass doors which open to allow for a very indoor/outdoor feel. A large skylight sits perfectly centered over the dance floor, again allowing for beautiful lighting up til sunset. The placement of the ceremony space is directly east/west facing - this is ideal because as the sun sets, it creates completely even, direct lighting across the couple and wedding party during ceremony which avoids harsh shadows on the faces and results in gorgeous pictures. With two getting ready suites and a side courtyard, we had so many places to photograph the couple and their wedding party, and it almost looked like we were transported to a beautiful European villa instead of Costa Mesa :) Aside from the visuals, I have to make a special note about what it was like working with the staff at The Harper. This team did a wonderful job celebrating and supporting the couple getting married. Each person working for The Harper performed their job with a positive attitude and a smile on their face, and this warm, welcoming presence brought a great energy into the day. As a vendor, it's common that venues treat us somewhat poorly. In contrast, The Harper graciously provided us with one of the getting ready suites during reception (while the party continued elsewhere) where we could eat a hot meal and regroup with our equipment before the next event on the timeline. This really goes a long way for me as a photographer because by dinner time, I've usually been working on my feet for 6+ hrs, and I so appreciate being fed while guests eat so we don't miss any important moments but can still catch a meal break! Above all else, our couple getting married loved their wedding day, and I know The Harper was a big part of that. Weddings are done best when the whole vendor team comes together with a singular goal in mind: to serve the couple as they enter into marriage. My friend just had a wedding here, the parking situation looks like a mess and the place is very hidden in an industrial area not exactly a romantic location. The inside was well decorated and spacious but the food situation is where it went all down hill. The appetizers came out the crab cake pops were decent nothing spectacular but the wonton looking thing on a spoon tasted like fried wonton wrapper soaked in soy sauce. Beyond salty so much that if you had any cuts in your mouth they would be stinging. Then during the buffet style diner that had servers to control the portions they literally ran out of food. The original plate was supposed to have a serving of fish, a serving of beef, salad, roasted carrots and asparagus, roasted corn, salad and rice. Once my table was served they only had one serving of fish, salad and rice. Not only that but when another guest from my table asked for another piece of fish considering the sparse plate she absolutely refused, which was ridiculous because the other side of the buffet gladly gave him another piece. My friend who hosted was fuming after he heard that many of his guest were served half empty plates even though he paid for 140 guest and only 130 ish actually came so they should have had more then enough food instead of running out. I drove by today to see what the building looked like. I am planning on attending a wedding later in March and wanted to decide whether to drive or take an Uber. There's no sign around the building to indicate which building is the Harper nor the location of the entrance's location. The only indication is a sign in front of a building, I assume across the street from the Harper saying, "No Parking for The Harper." I definitely will plan on taking an Uber and hopefully the hosts will have a sign posted showing the entrance. read more

My husband and I just recently had our wedding at The Harper. From start to finish- The Harper exceeded our expectations throughout our entire process. The venue itself is beyond gorgeous and can be tailored to fit anyone's vision. From the entry foyer, to the ceremony stage, to the bride and groom suites, and even to the bathrooms- every spot in this venue is stunning! The entire staff was wonderful at our wedding , and our guests were very complimentary with the food and drinks. We did a group tasting and a private tasting to choose our menu items- we loved everything we tasted during these events, and I don't think you could go wrong with any of their menu items! Lyzmari was so easy to work with in the beginning stages of looking for a venue for my wedding. The venue is tucked away in an industrial part of Costa Mesa, but don't worry, they have parking covered for your guests. The valet service will use a neighboring business' parking lot for your guys. It makes sense to have your wedding here on the weekend because the neighboring business and traffic will be low. It has a lush and green entry way. Perfect for your guests to take photos. The outside cocktail/ceremony space has area lighting and twinkle lights. It is concrete so you don't have to worry about ladies heels digging. There are men's and women's bathrooms. Both are beautiful and have 3 stalls I think. Also space to change a baby. The groom's room and bride's room's are sexy as heck. They have a secret door that connects each other. Each come with a private bathroom. They offer catering and bar or you are welcome to bring your choice of catering with an additional fee. The bar service will still need to go through them. Vendors have a really easy load in access with a gate the opens straight to the venue. I didn't have my event here but Lyzmari was an absolute pleasure to work with. She gave me a quote within a day of our tour. She was clear and to the point which is so rare in the venue search phase of the engagement journey. This is an amazing option! read more

First, I have to give The Harper HUGE props for being so accommodating. Our original venue couldn't host us with covid, so we were looking for a new place just 4 weeks out from our date (with all other vendors confirmed for the new date!). The Harper is relatively new on the venue scene, and sometimes that shows through. Our contact only worked MWF, so on such a short timeline it was occasionally a pain. If we had been working with The Harper for months in advance, I'm sure this wouldn't have been an issue. The site is beautiful and super user-friendly. We loved the secret passageway, the hidden garden, the great courtyard, and the huge inside skylight. However, since our event needed to be completely outdoors we also had to compensate with additional lighting in the courtyard. There's also no sound system (would be a huge plus!). While The Harper made everything on the day-of super easy, there were a few little interactions in the planning that keep this place from being the absolute best. We were initially verbally quoted a price after sharing our guest count and date, but the proposal came back at $50 more per head (a $3k difference for us). Also, there was a potential additional charge to use the bridal suite for more than 2 hours. Who can do everyone's hair and makeup all in two hours?!? I would completely recommend The Harper. Just be sure you dig into the details and have plenty of time for planning!! read more

This review is for Taryn and simply based on initial stages. I reached out to The Harper and received a response shortly after. Taryn sent a friendly and informative email and we immediately booked our in person tour. This venue is the dream of dreams !! It is inviting, bright, unique, and everything we were looking for in a venue. We were looking for details on a micro-wedding packages and felt that the price point for the package was very reasonable! Taryn was patient, knowledgeable, and helped to answer our many many questions. In the end we decided that micro wedding was not the route we wanted to go (we wanted more people and more time) which then made the venue out of our price range (which is smaller than average) but is realistic for the average venue cost in Orange County. If you are on the hunt for a venue, definitely give The Harper a chance and Taryn will take great care of you!
