I have used Garden Equipped for a few years now for my JohnDeere riding mower to to do all maintenance after each mowing season....and I have never had any problems with them....actually very nice people to deal with...from the phone receptionist to making an appointment for picking up my mower for maintenance and then calling me to let me know the costs for my approval prior to this working on my mower...I appreciate their service...their knowledge...and their professional friendly manners... read more

This is second time I have brought my BMS side-by-side ATV for repair. This time my unit had no steering. There was no way the other small engine repair shops in town would even look at my unit for weeks. "Garden Equipment" counter personnel were polite and was willing to help with the repairs. After dropping off my unit, two days later I received a call stating my unit was repaired. The repair staff was knowledgeable and the repair was done at a fair price. I can't understand the poor reviews. I guess this day and age you can't satisfy everyone!! Thanks I'll be back! read more

They fixed my generator that had a faulty carburetor from the factory. Purrs like a kitten now. They did it in a couple of days. friendly service. I definitely recommend them for small engine repair. read more

My riding lawnmower was running but not so well. Black smoke and it would only move forward in first gear. On my last attempt to start it gas was pouring out of it so I turn it off to avoid a fire. I explained this to management and they said it would be 10 days before they could even get to it. I was expecting a large bill and in 4 days I was called and they said it was ready. Because they responded so quickly I just knew they didn't do something right.....not so. What a pleasant surprise. Test drove it and it and put in all gears and it was acting like new. Outstanding performance to say the least and under $200. read more

Not surprised at the reviews on here. I brought a very old rototiller in for repair. The engine died repeatedly while running. $170 later they said I was good to go. They did carburetor work. First time I tried to use it the same problem. My partner brought it back and the owner told him she would try and keep the repair charges down. I was like what? Are you sure she said that? When they called a couple of weeks later I was told the estimate for repair was $200. WHAT??? I called and spoke to the owner who wanted me to believe that this was a brand new problem and that now it was something unrelated to the initial problem and subsequent repair. She told me that I might think it was the same because of my inexperience. I informed her that I had owned and used this rototiller for many years and was confident that her mechanic was mistaken in his diagnostic and his repairs. I will be picking up my broken rototiller and making sure that everyone knows this is not the place to take any small engines for repair! read more

My Generator, for our home, would not start. I had been in contact with the manufacture but was not getting a timely response. So I checked for a service provider for my brand. I found that Garden Equipped was an authorized service provider for my generator. I contacted them and they said to bring it in and they would check it out. I took it in to them that afternoon and two days later, the called and said it was ready to go. Very Friendly staff and they were familiar with my generator. read more

Went in for a simple repair, and the lady working register seemed to be uptight and was rude. The guy working in the back that brought me my part looked higher than a kite!! He was also rude talking about me to his associates after he went through a door which was less than 5 feet away!! They Wanted twice as much for the assembly of the part that needed fixed, than the cost of a new one!! Will not return!!! Overall horrible experience there! P.s. If I could give their "customer service" zero stars I would. The fellow that does the actual repair is pretty friendly but the owner (I believe is who she is) is rude, argumentative, immediately defensive and pretty much told me that the problems I brought it back for were all my fault because I didn't communicate ( a word she used easily a dozen times ) correctly. Initially I took my newer Briggs and Straton pressure washer and engine in because it wouldn't start. A few days later I picked it up and brought it home. The engine started fairly well but died almost immediately. I checked the gas and it was completely empty although it was about half full when I left it. I checked the oil level and it didn't even register on the dipstick. Took about 1/2 quart. I hooked it to the house water supply and found what looks like a Zerk fitting on the outlet hose (probably to relieve pressure) was instead pouring water through. I removed the fitting and put in a small bolt to plug the leak until I could find a replacement. I started the motor but absolutely no water came from the wand. I removed the wand and hose and tried again but the water just trickled out. I took it back and explained about the low oil and lack of fuel. I explained that the pressure was great the last time it was used but not now. The woman at the counter (owner?) started repeating, over and over, that I had to "communicate" better and that it couldn't be their fault at all. I probably shouldn't have but I left it to see if they could fix the pressure problem. I won't ever return and will flatly state that no one should do business with these people since no one should be subjected to that woman and her miserable attitude. read more

I was a bit apprehensive in going to them after reading the negative reviews. But finding a place to service my lawnmower that was close to home was difficult. So I went to them anyway. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a large operation, well equipped, and thorough. After dropping my trusty old mower off I was told 2 weeks. My enthusiasm dropped as I was worried what my lawn would look like after two weeks of no mowing. But I proceeded anyway and hoped for the best. Three days later they called and said my mower was in good shape and ready to go. Price and service are excellent. Will continue to use them for all my outdoor power machines' needs read more

Kevin-owner was not present to witness what transpired so his response is completely hearsay and as he said, people "do have their version and people do omit facts". Had Kevin been present he would have observed that it was in fact his mechanic who started the insulting and vulgar language. Had Kevin been present and involved in the situation, he would have known that the customer asked for a diagnostic on the electrical involved with ignition ONLY, but instead, the mechanic left the fuel on while trying to make the engine spark which caused the fuel to fill the cylinder causing the engine to backfire so hard it pushed off a valve stem seal that then got between the rocker arm and where the seal mounts causing the new pushrods to bend. The mechanic tried to charge almost $900.00 to fix what ended up being a loose electrical connection in the ignition. Total repair cost including new pushrods to replace what was damaged by the mechanic was $100. Please go ANYWHERE else than here. She was so rude to me that I walked out without buying anything and reminding myself not to go back. Maybe they could build her a nice little office away from the customers? They came through when others failed! I needed a drive belt for my walk behind string mower. I spent about a half hour on the phone checking availability at all the usual places. Most of them said "Bring in the old belt and we'll see if we can match it". When I called Garden Equipped I was told "Yes I do believe we have that in stock". I double checked the belt specs while still on the phone. When I got to their shop I was delighted with the exact belt that I needed. Very friendly and INFORMED customer service. I am very satisfied and will return when ever I need parts, repairs or even new equipment. read more

The asian chick was so rude to everyone whether she was on a phone call or dealing with customers. This lady was a un- professional bitch. talked badly about other races. Then they tried to pull a fast one on me saying my weed eater needed work done, which was a complete lie to get more money from me. I do NOT recommend that place. Ive. Very friendly and after service no problems. It seems to always take quite along time for repair. I have brought in all types of garden equipment and satisfied with the repair but have never had one repair less than $100.00. A week later after I wrote my review had to return the very mower they just fixed for an additional $225.00 for repair. They said I ran over something. I assured them I had used it one time a it ran terrible so I brought it back in. read more

What horrible customer service. Very unprofessional pickup and delivery service. They were not friendly. My appt was 8am-12pm. Called them after 1pm. Then called Sears. Could not understand the operators accent. They called when I was on the phone with Sears, but because I did not answer their call, they cancelled my orig. appt. I was told by a guy called OZ (said he was a supervisor) that I should not have panicked because they were only an hour late. I was not panicking, I wasted an entire day because you can't tell time. i called and complained to Sears again. It's like talking to a wall. They don't do home service like Sears did, so they came back on Monday and picked up the lawn tractor. Today (Friday about 5pm) I just happened to look outside and there in the yard was my lawn tractor setting out in the rain. No phone call, no knock on the door, no push of the door bell, no paper work attached saying what was wrong and what they did. Someone could have easily walked in my yard and stolen it. And the worse of it all is that they are handling the repair and warranty service for items you bought from Sears. Not buying any more Sears products at all. read more

There are much better local options in Redding and Anderson than this store. They carry some decent brands but the service is very poor. The employees seem afraid to make very simple decisions w/o first checking in with the owner. I agree with the other review they should build an office away or at home for the owner and let someone else manage it with better people skills. read more
