Even with the miss on the cauliflower, I definitely recommend checking out Whisper House for both the food and the drinks.

The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is in a great location. I would give it a 3.5 but I cannot give it a 4. For being located in an upscale area of Upland, the restaurant could really use some updating. Its clean but booths and cafe tables, not so inviting. They have a full bar and decent beer selection, however, a very poor wine selection. My wife prefers wine over beer/cocktails and there isn't anything to choose from as far as a decent wine. For those of us who like a nice wine with dinner, this isn't the place. With that being said, I think this is a great spot for lunch as well as drinks and appetizers after work or shopping in the area. They have a nice selection of sandwiches and other items. Good food, not great. I would stop in again lunch when in the area. A good spot for a Friday or Saturday night date night? Not so much. We believe if the owners simply made some updates to the restaurant and menu, it would be much more popular with the local residents for a nice dinner spot. It has the potential. read more

In town visiting inlaws for the holidays and this place is right down the road. Considering the Friday before Christmas Eve/Weekend, and the place was packed, everything was great. Service was good - everyone friendly and nice. Had a round of drinks at the bar while waiting to be seated. We were quite hungry and the food was awesome! I had the western BBQ burger w/ sweet potato fries, wifey the Buffalo Salad. The decor borders upscale (the bar area) and casual (everywhere else). Not sure what to call it, but comfortable. I particularly noticed the sound proofing material in the ceiling which really helped keep the noise at bay. Similar places with that much going on would be very loud. It's not ritzy quiet, but noticeable considering the traffic. As others noted, it's a great place for a night out with the wifey, a gathering with friends, or even a family with children - all of which we saw last night. Will definitely go back when in town - especially since it's about a 4 minute drive ;) read more

I was so excited to get a chance to eat here. Walked in and was immediately happy with the environment. There was no greeter or host when my girlfriend and I walked in. Luckily the bartender catched us and went ahead and seated us. As we looked through the menu and figured out what we wanted to drink, we waited for our server. Decided to go ahead and figure out our meal while we still waited for our server. The booth directly next to us was seated 10 min after us waiting and within 3 minutes was greeted by their server. Up to 20 min later 4-5 tables after us were seated, greeted, had their drink and food order completed. We are still waiting for our server. I'm so disappointed I didn't get a chance to eat here. There are not many restaurants with a bar in the immediate area so we thought we would give The Heights a try. The food is good. Decent variety. Booths and lots of kids so appeared to be more like a family style restaurant so we went back to the bar. The bartender was very nice and while they have a full bar, they have a limited wine list. They could definitely up the wine selections considering the location. We had the burger and the short ribs. The burger was good. The short ribs were good but the taste and texture was closer to a pot roast rather than the traditional short rib flavor. Probably won't order that if I come back again. The 5 stars is for the human being BOLD enough to call out restaurants for being the reason COVID is still present. I always knew restaurants were really the super spreaders. There is no science that I know of to back it but I mean, people gathering outdoors to eat is way more dangerous than packing hundreds of people into a retail store. Why can't people understand this!? I am confused about the "law" comment though? Not sure where that information is but would definitely appreciate being informed!! And lastly, shame on these workers! Don't they understand that if they lose their homes or if their families need to go hungry for the sake of "flattening" the curve then it is worth it! read more

Review is for late night happy hour. There is a strange smell in the bar area that a few reviewers have also noticed, almost like BO. Not very pleasant. Ordered the buffalo nachos and pork shank. The portions are of good size. The pork shank was pretty tasty but a little dry, almost tastes like bbq ribs. The nachos were good with good amount of cheese and topping and works well with the pork shank. I got a martini also and it was good for the happy hour prices. I did kind of felt that they almost didn't want to serve us though. There was only 2 other groups in there but they didn't greet us for quite a while after we got our own seats. read more

The entire experience was unimpressive. The Bolognese pasta dish at the restaurant lacked flavor and had an unusual spicy taste which made it unpalatable. The server who apologized failed to compensate for the subpar dining experience. The service delivery was both slow and irregular while the dining space presented itself as dimly lit and outdated. The standard kid's burger lacked its typical toppings when it arrived at our table. The establishment has clearly deteriorated in quality. My parents live in Rancho and I drive down from Las Vegas at least once a month to see them. Quite often they don't feel like going out to dinner but they do look forward to food from The Heights in Upland. My Mom enjoys the Waldorf salad and she substitutes salmon for the chicken. While Dad loves the Southwest Veggie Burger with sweet potato fries. The Heights has a great chipotle ranch dressing which is ideal for dipping fries. The portions are great so that both my parents have leftovers for the following day. I wonder if my Dad will want a different menu item for Father's Day? I doubt it! read more

This place Is Awesome... The staff is extremely friendly & attentive. I had the Tuna Melt and it was fantastic. The Portions are very large and I the atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for. My colleague (who is a real food snob) ordered the fish & chips and he said, " This may be the best I've ever had." I would recommend this place to anyone with complete confidence. I'm located in Upland, so the heights is one of regular places I go, I love the atmosphere, the servers are always so wonderful, I walked in around 11pm one time with buddies coming back from the gym, and they still managed to serve us with no problems with only a few people in the restaurant, we had a steak way under cooked for us one time, and the manger came to our table and gave his apologies, and replaced it with a steak done to perfection! Our drinks are always filled, food always great! No problems what so ever!!! read more

Went to the heights last week for a birthday dinner and fell in love with the place. I highly recommend the heights if you're in the mood for american style food with a wide variety. The food was great. They even offer prime rib steak on thte kids menu, which u don't see to often. Everything was wonderful, the atmosphere was very open and modern. I love this place. I've had quite a few items on the menu and have not been disappointed. The pork Shanks, sliders, coconut shrimp and ahi tuna are all spectacular apps. I've had their burger a few times and a couple of other entrees that were great. The bar atmosphere is wonderful. My wife and I have met here a few times for a break from the kids. Love this place. I have eaten in the bar and in the dining room and always friendly service with great food. They have a nice banquet room that is secluded from the main dining room, I have never been at an event there but looks nice and private. I am on their mailing list and receive email vouchers.
