Came here for some brunch, and I was pleasantly surprised by this place, the service was top notch, the waiter was very attentive to us, the place looked like a diner clean, and nice. The food was decent, I ordered the chilaquiles with meat, I was happy they served it with a cooked jalapeño, the fried tortillas and red sauce were delicious. I wasn't that impressed with the fajitas they served with it, the asada didn't have much flavor. The egg was cooked perfectly which really made the meal. My fiancé ordered the chicken and waffles and she said it was delicious. One piece of her waffle was a little soggy, but she wasn't upset. I would definitely come back to this place if I'm in the area for sure. read more

We had been to Sammy's numerous times for breakfast, which is very good... so we decided to try dinner.. There were five of us ordering a variety of menu items.. We started with onion rings while we waited for our 5th guest and these were quite satisfying.. For Dinner, three of us had the Shrimp Dinner ( 2 for $30) two had salad and I had the chili beans we all had baked potatoes.. We all agree dinner was a solid 4.5.. The other two had country fried steak.. The one who is hardest to please gave his dinner a 10!! We topped it off with Hot Fudge Sunday's !! Overall excellent!! read more

Came in to try a different place. It's a cute 50's style dinner. Totally dig the car prints on the booth seats. We noticed a handful of regulars. Food was good and good selection. They have an extensive menu, specials for the day were; Cheese Blintzes with 2 eggs sausage or bacon for $14.69 Breakfast Sando ham, eggs, avocado, cheese, on a grilled sourdough and potatoes $12.99 Chilaquiles Rancheros $16.99 See what I mean?! Anywho, we opted for Sammy's weekly special; choose one , strawberry pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, half banana French toast, half strawberry waffle which came with 3 eggs, e bacon, 3 sausage links and hash browns or country potatoes for $15.99. My partner wanted regular pancakes and I added sourdough bread. That was more than enough for both of us! If we were ever back in the area, I would definitely give them a visit! read more

Had a really good breakfast this morning. My favorite here is the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Combo. My over medium eggs were perfectly cooked. The cinnamon roll French was also really good and a beautiful golden brown. It took a while to get my first coffee refill but after that, my cup was kept full. I would definitely return next time I'm in the Upland area. I have eaten several times at the Calimesa location but the food at this location is much better and more consistent. read more

I am glad to finally have tried Sammy's Cafe. I'm always getting groceries or gas in this shopping center and see it and decided to try it for breakfast with my husband a couple weeks ago. The outside is decorated with fun cars and then we walked inside and it's a lot bigger than we thought. Definite diner vibes and lots of regulars, I think we were the youngest ones there. We were greeted and seated right away. My husband and I both did a breakfast and he got a half waffle and I got French toast as my add on. I think their prices changed recently from comparing previous menus so it was a little more pricier than we were expecting. The food was good, but I felt like something was missing. I really liked my French toast, but the strawberry was a little too much for me. I think I would stick with the breakfast and not have an add on next time because it was a lot of food. We liked it here and would come again due to the convenient location and kind service. I would like to try more of their food options the next time we stop in. read more

The meat is very savory/juicy and comes with nice toasted bread. A burger is so easy to mess up (I've had many bland burgers) but this burger is better than in n out! A group of us come in every week for breakfast and find the food and service to be very good. Our server, Martin is excellent as is the rest of the waitstaff. They make sure our coffee cups are topped off. I have been in for lunch and dinner periodically and found our meals to be as good as our breakfasts. It is a comfortable place to dine. read more

Haven't been here in a while, I am 90 and no longer drive, but I always LOVED to eat here. Food never disappointed in the years I ate here. I never had a server who wasn't the best, as if they had part ownership and wanted repeat customers. They watched our drinks and were quick to refill and ask if we wanted anything else, and if the food was satisfactory. I really miss eating here and I think next time my grand nephew invites me to eat out I will suggest going here but there are so many favorite foods here it will be hard to choose. We came for breakfast and this friendly diner made some very good food. I ordered eggs scrambled soft (they were perfect!) Bacon and house potatoes crispy (again cooked perfect) and French toast delicious . They had American food, Mexican food, and even a little Jewish food (blintzes on Today's special )!! Hadn't been into Sammy's Café in quite some time, so this past Sunday morning my wife and I stopped in for breakfast. We both had the Sammy's Weekend Special; Sausages, eggs, hash browns, pancakes along with biscuits and gravy. After a breakfast like this, we wondered why we hadn't come back sooner! The food was delicious and more than enough to fill us up. The sausages and eggs were cooked perfectly, the pancakes were light and fluffy and the biscuits were not too dense and the gravy hot and delicious. The service was great and the prices were extremely reasonable. What more could you ask for" We now just need to return and try them out for dinner as my friend has suggested.
