We had the most wonderful experience here on my birthday. It had only been open for a week or so at the time, and staff was plentiful, including some we spoke with who were brought in from other locations to help with the opening. We were literally treated like royalty. From the handicapped parking in the back and easy access through a side door, to the birthday card waiting at the table, to having several managers stop by to introduce themselves and chat, to the delicious food and several craft cocktails that we tried, everything was just perfect. Came here for a Sunday night dinner and luckily made reservations ahead of time as this place gets very packed even for an early scheduled dinner at 4:30 PM. It is located in Plaza, Del Lago, and be sure to get there early to find some parking as this place has not changed in over 35 years. It is still narrow and limited in parking. The ambience here is absolutely beautiful and every inch of it is worth taking a picture of your social media. We did arrive a little bit early and they were kind enough to see us immediately. We were here for a birthday celebration and they did give a cute birthday card and we got to pick out a dessert for free as well. That came out with a candle. This was very thoughtful. This was our first visit and we ordered an appetizer to share one soup as well as a salad to split. This was a lot of food quite frankly, then we each ordered our own entrées as well. We had quite a bit of leftovers. However, we definitely finished the dessert cake. The food here is super tasty very fresh. It did take a little while for it to come out, but someone did stop by to let us know and apologize for the wait. Our server Ben was absolutely incredible and so nice. I would definitely come back here again, whether for a lunch or another dinner. I look forward to their menus evolving and growing. This is a great place to eat super casual and it was great to see families here as well as just locals coming by for a quick bite of dinner. I will say do expect a higher price point simply because of the restaurant and its location. Also, with that higher price point while I do think the portions are fair they're definitely not on the larger or generous side. Good was just bad, But service was worst. Our server did not care, nor check to see if the food was ok. Drinks arrived after our appetizers. Not that appetizer came fast. And server took our drink order wrong.... But didn't come back to the table after... Slow service, hard to get attention from any staff. Manager was busy chatting with the host girls the whole dinner service. Burger was a biggest disappointment! It was dry, bread was hard. When server took away untouched food, he didn't even say anything. (I guess it happens a lot?) Short rib potstickers were too hard/dry. Beef tartar was too heavily sauced Dessert was so good! Interior and the building itself is BEAUTIFUL! Almost like it's too good to be for this level of service or food. We really wanted to like the Henry. We eat out a lot. I was excited to try The Henry since I had such a great experience at their San Diego location, but unfortunately this one didn't live up to my expectations. We ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries, Umami Brussels Sprouts, Rigatoni Alla Vodka with burrata, and the Ten Vegetable Chopped Salad. Everything was just okay. Nothing really stood out, and I was hoping for a lot more flavor based on my previous experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a great atmosphere, but the service was just okay as well. Weekend Brunch Review! The Henry recently opened in the Plaza Del Lago and this may be my new favorite restaurant. The inside has a California coastal vibe mixed with Ralph Lauren like accents. They have an outdoor patio, large bar, and grand main seating area that overlooks the window into the kitchen. We started with a round of drinks off their Cocktail Menu. I got The Amalfi which is their take on a Hugo Spritz with a hint of strawberry. It was light and refreshing! My husband got the Super Hi-5 which was fruity with subtle bourbon flavor. It was a bit sweeter knowing the bourbon was coconut washed as well. I later also tried their Espresso Martini which came with the perfect amount of foam and a "H" in yummy sweet spices. For food, I settled on the Original Egg Sandwich but asked for Truffle Aioli i stead of the mayo. This added the perfect pop of flavor with the fluffy egg and soft brioche bun. This dish also came with breakfast potatoes for weekend brunch. My husband got the Eggs Benedict which was creamy, balanced in flavor, and fresh tasting. The portions were good sizes and quality of ingredients was there. Not only were our drinks and food amazing, but I cannot rave more about our server Carolina. She had such a delightful demeanor and left us feeling like we had a personable experience with her. We later found out she was in training and had no idea! She made great recommendations and answered all our questions without hesitation. We made sure her manager knew how amazing she did with us and even he was so kind. If you are looking for an elevated dining option, this is absolutely one to look at. For recently opening, there were no kinks we experienced. Great way to open a restaurant! Service here is outstanding from the host to the bar staff and food servers. We didn't have reservations so we were directed to the bar area where we saw all the action going on. Every single staff person and I mean every single one were super friendly and definitely authentically so. Now this is what I call great customer service training! Staff smiled, helped each other out and greeted every guest and were all helpful. Cecilia at the bar was very friendly enthusiastic and made everyone feel welcome. Food wise we got the prime rib dip and the crunchy rice tuna rolls and both were super delicious! Perhaps when the manager noticed me scraping the Hollandaise sauce off, she came over to check on us. 12 out of 10 stars for food, service and ambiance! My daughter and I take my son and his husband out for their birthdays, which are both in August each year. We try different places. This is such an amazing restaurant. The atmosphere was so warm and cozy. We were greeted by three smiling faces when we walked in. Our server was outstanding... attentive, but not too much. Each of us had something different and we all raved about our food. It was delicious. At the end, they brought over a big piece of their signature lemon cake with two kinds of homemade ice cream and glazed strawberries for us to share. It was such a surprise. We couldn't have been happier and will definitely return. This is our favorite place in the North Shore. I live in Highland Park and go to a lot of the restaurants in the area. read more

Great addition to the neighborhood. The company brought in a very experienced, charismatic staff - so the whole experience was a really good time. What they did with the space is hard to believe when you consider the starting point was a furniture store and a run down alley within Plaza Del Lago. They have tables running the entire length of the alley outside that are really appealing. The tuna and crispy rice appetizer was notably delicious, and the Korean flank steak on double egg fried rice was perfect. Note that all the appetizers/dishes we ordered were very rich and filling, so don't make the mistake my wife and I did in over-ordering - though the leftovers today I am certain will also be delightful. I think most surprising is there didn't seem to be any opening days hiccups that normally a new place experiences - also a credit I'm sure to the experienced management they brought in. read more

The Henry is Such a great add to this area! We had a reservation on a Saturday night, the restaurant was packed when we arrived which is a good thing! We started at the bar while we were waiting for our table. The bar looked outstanding and bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable. Sophia took great care of us along with the rest of the bartenders, drinks were delicious. We got seated at the table about 20 minutes after our reservation but we didn't really mind as we were having a great time at the bar. The food was good but kitchen needs some improvement with the timing as it took over 35 minutes for a small appetizer. We will come back! read more

Let me start with the food. I may have been well served because I heard some chatter about favorite dishes, and those menu items that were recommended did not disappoint. I loved the spicy tuna and crispy rice appetizer, I enjoyed the short rib dumplings, loved the umami brussels sprouts and the prime rib sandwich. Food was so good on my first dinner visit that I came back for lunch within a week and really enjoyed the roasted chicken and avocado salad. Service also has been excellent, and you can tell that the staff has been given some positive corporate training. For instance, each time I was there the servers checked back within a minute or so after getting our food to see if we needed anything. Love that. I did go multiple times during their first month of operation and found that they were comically overstaffed. Not a problem with respect to my dining experience, but visually it was funny seeing what I assume we're out of town training staff combined with a full compliment of new hires. Regarding the ambiance, the place is just lovely. Almost always uniformly filled to capacity, it has a good vibe, but it's not overly loud where you can't hear your table's conversation. All in all, I'm looking to make it a regular part of my revolving restaurant favorites. Great look, well trained pleasant staff, and most of all, delicious food. read more

Went there again and they did not disappoint!! I had the Caesar salad with grill steak. Of course I had the crab cakes again, yummy!!! My husband had the prime steak French dip! I also ate his food!!! Drinks were supper yummy! David was a great bartender and waiter!!! My husband also got the carrot cake! My husband always say how good the carrot cake is. I don't like carrot cake! Just to be sure I tried it! Well my husband had to order another because I ate that too!!! I didn't get my bread!!!! The Henry is a must try. The short rib pot stickers were phenomenal as an app. For entrees, the Chicken francese with the spaghetti and the wagyu burger were both delicious. For drinks, the lemon drop martini and the spicy pineapple margarita had a great kick. For dessert the butter cake melts in your mouth - must try! Pretty standard question, and in a million other restaurants all over the world I would be told " yes, the bar is first come first serve and the bartender will serve you". Great, right? Not at the Henry. At this overrated faux-trendy suburban wannabe, the three college age hostesses universally told me "no. The bar is reserved seating when the restaurant is full." Are you sure? Really? Yes. Ok, bye. This as there were at least two empty bar seats available. Forget it, I walked. And I'm a local. You really, really shouldn't piss off your local crowd. We sustain you in the dead months of winter. Ask Valley Lodge and Pescadero. To Henry management: I have also eaten at your restaurant in Dallas. Nice place, but the food there is average and the staff also gives attitude. Time to realize: you serve locals and an occasional out of towner. The Henry is not destination dining. Came here for my husband's birthday brunch. Excellent service! Beautiful ambience. Food was so fresh and tasty- I loved my hibiscus seltzer mocktail. The vanilla scone was homemade and so good! When you walk into the Henry you're greeted by a team of bright and welcoming faces. The front bar is airy and beachy modern and as you continue deeper you get a warm cozy RL mixed with modern feel. It's one day in and I can honestly say that the staff all went above and beyond on making sure guests were happy and attended to. The servers are helpful but not pushy on what a guest might enjoy. I'm sure like any restaurant that newly opens -there are minor bumps and figuring out moments (especially with the added pressure of everyone in the neighborhood vying to get in and share their opinions/critique). but we truly had a great night tonight. Our food was all fantastic, our server was both helpful and very engaging and we truly enjoyed our entire experience.
