Update: Egg Harbor Corporate finally responded and they fixed the issue. To Egg Harbor Cafe DBA Egg Harbor Management Co and Hamco, Inc I purchased a Giftcard on your site for a Mother's Day gift on 5/4/26, since my Mother has been a patron of Egg Harbor for many years. My Mother went to Egg Harbor (at The Glen/Glenview) on 5/19 to use the Giftcard, but they were turned away because she didn't have the 16 digit card number for the Giftcard. She never got the text message from Toast, providing that 16 digit card number. She showed the staff proof of purchase via the receipt of the giftcard that has a Payment ID, Credit Card information, and purchase date. They were told to go to the Bannockburn location by the person acting as manager that day (Alex). There isn't a Bannockburn location - that's the address for the corporate office that was at the top of the e-receipt. I called Alex at the Glen location and after realizing he's very confused and misinformed i called the Deerfield location to get clarity. I spoke to another manager, Deerfield manager (Darren), who informed me that Giftcards can be used at any location so My Mother went back to the Glen and they awaited for over an hour for assistance/clarification and we're not assisted properly. They were told to call Toast to get further information. We called Toast and they informed us the restaurant corporate office is responsible in this situation. So I called Egg Corporate/Hamco (847) 478-5100 on May 19, left a voicemail and called back multiple times throughout the day - no response. I Called May 20 a couple times in the morning and finally spoke to Michelle (front office) and she said I need to talk to the We care team. I asked her to pass my information along and get a call back before end of day. She said OK. There was no call back. -Your Team at the restaurant level is misinformed and rude -Your Corporate Team is unresponsive -Your Giftcard program is mismanaged and frankly seems like a scam at this point. I would like a refund for my Mother's Day gift. read more

This place is amazingly as well as deservedly very popular! We returned with the kiddos for a breakfast outing on their next to last summer vacation day before school commences. There were a few other families with kids but the vibrant and busy place was totally filled with other patrons on a Tuesday at 9am. Anyway, the grand-darlings both enjoyed the kids' Breakfast of Champions which includes a drink (orange-strawberry juice) for $13. Wife had their Farmer's Market Benedict for $16 and I had their traditional breakfast (two eggs over easy, bacon, and Harbor potatoes) for $15.50. The food came out pretty quickly and was tip-top fresh and delicious. Our server was Mariela G who was friendly and also busy but still attentive. Just trying to enjoy brunch with my family and we see a display on the table that says that Egg Harbor is using beef tallow in their fryers. Sorry but I don't want to worry about my family's food being loaded up with much higher quantities of saturated fat when I'm at a restaurant. Beef tallow has much higher percentage of saturated fat than other options. Regardless of what RFK Jr. may think, there is a clear link between diets high in saturated fat and heart disease. My husband and I discovered Egg Harbor Cafe after an early morning appointment about an hour from home. We decided we deserved a breakfast after enduring the morning traffic. I didn't leave a review the first time, but it was excellent. Because I kept dreaming about the cherrywood avocado toast (I'm not an avocado toast girl), we tried the Barrington location as well. Both locations were excellent!!! After going to a second appointment with my daughters today, I decided to treat them (okay, myself) to breakfast again. I had to have the avocado toast again. The sweet flavor of the balsamic vinegar reduction combined with the salt of the goat cheese and the creaminess of the avocado combined with the crisp bacon is perfection. I'm am all about contrasting textures and flavors, so I love this dish. My daughter had the San Antonio skillet and said it was better than similar skillets from other restaurants. My other daughter had the Swedish pancakes (thin pancakes like crepes), and they were delicious as well. Despite the delicious food, the best part was our server (who happened to be the same server my husband and I had). I went to breakfast with my friend this morning. We had great service and the food was good. This review is not about that, but instead about a problem we encountered when we used the QR code to split the bill between us. If I hadn't said what my total was out loud, my friend would not have realized she was overcharged and that the system changed the price of a single item on my friend's bill. When we looked at our 2 bills, her meal was a different price on her receipt - 75 cents more. Not a big deal in the big scheme of things, but enough of a concern that if this is happening on everyone's bills, someone is making money off this. We did tell the manager about this and she said she would contact the tech department. I just wanted to warn everyone that you should be looking at your receipts here. read more

Reserve your spot ahead of time as wait times can be 20-40 minutes on the weekends. Staff was super nice and service was quick. I didn't love everything we ate and I think Ellie's is better. The honeybee latte was a hit. I had Joe's Healthy Scrambler and I thought it was bland overall. My English muffin got soggy because there was some liquid from the eggs/cheese. Seven years later, and that tuna melt is still my go to favorite! Some things never change! Some things do... at some point over the years, EH changed the avocado on the sandwich to a guac spread, which was very underwhelming and not nearly as good as the actual avocado slices. Since then, I've made it a point to clarify and ask for actual avocado every time I order. The tuna melt is about $15 now and comes with a side salad with the signature poppyseed dressing and side of cubed potatoes with green onion. Love that green onion touch! Plenty to choose from on the menu, like skillets, waffles, French toast, sandwiches, and salads, with an extensive kids' menu too. More unique offerings like a chorizo burrito and shakshuka are options too. This location recently got its floors redone (looks nice!) and has added an espresso machine at the front and really plus'd up on their specialty drink menu. Think s'mores lattes, brown sugar lattes, apple macchiatos, and frozen Frappuccino-like drinks. Mimosas, sangria, and bloody Mary's are also available. While visiting Chicago I didn't care to have breakfast in the hotel. Busy on a Saturday morning as you would expect. Cute little place with a good menu. Service was pleasant and quick. They leave a thermos of coffee which is a nice touch. Meat skillet was good but would have been better if the eggs weren't overcooked. I ordered over easy but they were medium to hard. Living in the city, but having worked in Glenview for several years, I always knew about this location, but somehow never had the opportunity to try. On a lovely New Year's morning, I finally did and was quite happy. Egg Harbor is probably one of the best restaurants in Glenview, with locations throughout Illinois (and apparently in Wisconsin and Georgia as well). There are plenty of options on the menu, with lots of opportunities to substitute or do mix and matches. I am always between savory and sweet - not a problem here. Both sides allow you to get a slightly smaller main portion, with a large side of whichever you crave. I got a smaller make-your-own skillet with chicken sausage, spinach, cheese, and tomatoes, with a side of french toast and fruit. The skillet was tasty, just needed a little bit of seasoning. The ingredients were definitely fresh, and the spinach kind of brought everything together. The challah french toast was solid, but nothing I haven't had as good or better at a New Jersey diner. My wife really liked her Farmer's Market Eggs Benedict, a big portion with homemade Hollandaise and fresh veggies. She really needed to add a lot of seasoning to complete the dish, but enjoyed every bite afterward. Service was quick and calm on a very busy New Year's morning. Two meals, coffee and OJ, and tip for $50 made this a great meal to kick off the New Year. read more

Egg Harbor Cafe' was as good as I remembered it to be. I have not been here for several years but I used to come here with my kids when they were smaller. We all loved this breakfast place. My son even won a coloring contest and was awarded a dine-in gift card. After our dentist visit, my son and I came here on a Saturday around 11:30 am. We waited for about 20 minutes to be seated. The service was outstanding. From the hostess, and especially from our server as well. The coffee was hot and delicious. My son ordered the CINNAMON SWIRL PANCAKES, which was phenomenal. He had a side of bacon and over easy eggs. Everything was cooked just the way we wanted them to be. I had the half-DOOR COUNTRY CHICKEN SALAD and half of the CREAM OF CHICKEN W/WILD RICE SOUP (from the lunch combo). Both dishes were perfect. The salad was so fresh and tasty. Visited this place on a Friday morning around 10 and it was busy, we waited less than 5 mins to be seated. Service: fairly quick and good, ice water was ready waiting on the table. Waiter brought us paper napkins without asking (usually you have to ask many times before you can have extra napkins) Food: food was decent and came fairly quick! Been up here twice to meet a friend. I got here a bit early since I had a lot to do and while waiting, few people from this place went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. The first hostess put me on a sunny spot which felt good for about 15 minutes then the heat kicked in. I asked Emilio, if they would mind moving me over to a shaded area and he went out of his way to move me there and make sure I am comfortable. Now that's service. I haven't ordered food yet but at this point I couldn't care less as the service level has me sold. The place is nice with the outdoor and indoor facility. The dark roast coffee is great and healthy aspects of the food are just what I like and the service is fast. To management, having folks like Emilio need to be recognized. Met Joe the general manager of the store and very impressive guy. Super friendly.
