While visiting the cute little town square in Portland, Maine we stopped for lunch at Highroller Lobster. I had a couple of lobster rolls in the past but I just wasn't impressed. However being that close to Maine lobster, I had to indulge. Our server was very helpful in guiding me to the best way to have it. Yet, when I ordered it on the digital menu (you put your order in at your table and they bring the food) I forgot to select Connecticut style (warmed lobster) and thus I was served cold lobster in a warm buttery bread...... AND IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!! I loved the selections of sauces that are drizzled on top. I added sweet potato fries and my only wish is that there was a sweet dipping sauce for those, but it didn't take away from the meal being so good overall! I am now a fan of lobster rolls but only at Highroller Lobster.

We came here super excited about this place with its cool outside look and decor inside. We were pretty disappointed leaving and wished we had gone elsewhere for dinner. We checked in and were sat down and told promptly to let anyone know if we needed anything and we would be helped. Went to order and there was some confusion amongst staff, and instead of taking our order then figuring it out, they had us wait and watch while they sorted things. Sat back down and realized we might have not ordered the lobby pop fried how we wanted but instead regular and went back up to change. Was charged an additional $2 when we had waited through the ordering scuffle and already paid $150. Food was brought to table in an okay span of time, and after drinking my soda, asked for a refill with one of the staff members that brought my food. She said I could go to counter and be helped - ironic after being told anyone could help if we needed anything. Know lobster is expensive, but felt it was overpriced for the experience we had. Seems as though they need to figure out if tables should be served or a kiosk system should be in place. Would not come back or recommend to anyone.

Amazing lobster rolls. The chips and fish was also great. Nice patio for a quick bite. Many different size options on the lobster rolls so you can just stop in for a light bite or a big meal. Very customizable and the sauces are great.

The only thing standing between me and the level of gluttony I was striving to achieve, after driving 2.5 hours to eat here, was my stomach! Yes, I drove that long to sit at this place and not only have a lobster roll flight but a lobster corn dog as well! I would do it all over again if I had to because the moment that first buttery roll went into my mouth, I experienced a level of euphoria that I saw fireworks when I closed my eyes. I will be back for a full sized roll and the lobster bisque that I could not fit in.

Super easy to order and fast service. Lobster roll was fantastic - warm and buttery. Ambiance gives retro diner vibes

Came by for a lobby pop! Super kind and attentive service !!! By recommendation I got both the lime and garlic sauce on the side and really loved both!! The lobster pop breading was delicious and the lobster inside was generous! They had some fun movies playing, an outdoor patio and the bar seating was immaculate! Great margarita too! I heard they have happy hour!

This was my first ever lobster roll and it was absolutely delicious. Actually, I had a couple and they were amazing. They were extremely high priced though was not expecting that especially for the amount of food you got plus the atmosphere, but the food was delicious and the service was top notch.

Onto my 3rd lobster roll tour and high roller is my top Lobster Roll choice, Came in around 930 pm Thursday, greeted and sat down right away. ordered 2 lobsters roll, oysters and cocktail shrimp. 4oz Jalapeno Mayo and 4oz Mango Habanero lobster roll both were by far the best Lobster I've tried in Maine. I prefer my lobsters to be warm/hot. the jalapeno mayo and mango habanero mayo both were really good. The roll itself was soft and buttery. This is how a lobster roll should be in my opinion. Definitely would come back and devour these lobster roll again. Cocktail shrimp- was decent, could of been bigger, nothing special, I've had better, wouldn't order this again. Lucky 7 oysters- decent size and taste, nothing special, I've had better

Pro tip: If you don't mind not eating inside the restaurant, ordering to go will save you a LOT of time. The roll was on the petite side, however what it lacked in stature it made up in flavor. My wife and I tried around a half dozen lobster rolls in Maine and this was our clear favorite. We favor Connecticut-style rolls though, so YMMV.

Service was exceptional! Food was amazing! Decor was so fun! The place was decorated for Christmas and it was so very festive. We arrived and came through the curtains. We were seated at the bar rather quickly. And service was prompt. We got a few beers. They were good, excellent variety! The lobster taco with lobster butter was amazing. The taco was all cheese!!! It was so good. And that strawberry shortcake was just over the top. Made us think of strawberry cereal or those ice cream pops with the strawberry crumble. Just out of this world. The people that work here also obviously love their job. Kudos to this awesome High rolling team.

Loved this place. Really friendly staff, Luscious lobster roll and great sauces/butters to try on the roll. (Very generous with the lobster too)

Hr Chicken Sandwich is delicious!!! My favorite chicken sandwich around now.

This place is fascinating. They are always so busy, yet, every time we go there is a seat available for us!! It's pretty awesome, because I hate waiting for tables. LOL We have only sat outside on the patio, which I prefer, because it's not as loud and Maine in the spring and fall time is just beautiful. The outdoor seating area is made up of picnic tables. You can order via a QR code or you can go to the window that faces out to the patio to place an order. The tables had utensils, napkins and condiments, which is great. Because the food can get a little messy depending on how many sauces you order :) I love the ordering process - so easy and you can customize a lot via the app. and in the times we have been, our orders were 100% correct. Because you are ordering via the app, there's no preceived pressure to order everything at once, you can order as you as wish. We started with drinks, got some snacks a bit later and once we were done with those, we decided we would order "meals". Everything still comes out pretty fast - hot and delicious! I haven't had any of their lobster offerings, however, friends have and they seemed to enjoy them, although they were not too impressed with the prices. I love the hamburger and the chicken sandwhiches here. Soooo good and they are always cooked perfectly. I love the curry ketchup. YUM The servers here are fast and friendly. They are always zipping around, filling drinks and food orders. They are not slackers. I do not like the parking options, however, if I'm ever in the area, I would definitely consider having a meal here. Thank you for the Amazing Staff at Highroller!

Came here after trying all the lobster shacks near Acadia with high expectations. We did outside seating since the inside was packed to save some time, but it took almost an entire hour for us to get our rolls, which IMO is pretty ridiculous. It got to the point where we just got it to go as it wasn't worth waiting around in the rain outside for so long. (We weren't the only ones as numerous people around us were also complaining and asking about their food) The lobster roll itself was pretty average. After eating the ones in Acadia, this was a step down for me. It didn't taste as fresh and the portions were smaller. For the wait time, I felt like it wasn't worth it and would've just eaten at someplace else.

Located at end of a pier, it was a pleasant bright, light space overlooking the ocean. We were pleasantly surprised to see some veggie options, and the hubby got the kelp burger, which he enjoyed. We liked it more than Scales which I think might be a less popular opinion. The ambiance was very rustic and cozy. It did feel a little cramped and the first table they sat us at was in the middle of a bunch of other tables and I really don't think it would be a nice table for anyone. Thankfully they moved us to a corner/booth which was very nice of them. Even in the corner it was still a little cramped which is my reason for not giving it 5 stars. The pasta dish with lobster in a red sauce was divine. Full of other seafood in addition to the lobster like mussels and clams too. It was definitely messy but the flavor was fantastic. Tons of garlic which we love. The octopus appetizer was also delicious. Very charred which normally I wouldn't like but it worked very well with this dish. We also got hummus which was a special appetizer. It was ok- not very memorable. The desserts didn't appeal to us (maybe we were just too full). Would love to return if we find ourselves back in Portland!

They shuck them right in front of you, explain what they are and where they came from and leave you the condiments to enjoy. THE BEST OYSTERS I've had in my life and I've had them all over the world. Fresh, soft delicate goodness. After you are done, they send the ice and shells down a hole built in the bar! Genius! The tuna crudo was sooo good! It is made in front of you, carefully and artfully arranged on a plate. A masterpiece! The specials where then covered and today I wanted to have one of each is an understatement. We both had to order the brown butter halibut, good God that was so delicious. Insanely delicious! We were told that there is one chef that dedicates their time cooking this dish as well as the scallops. Can't beat that! My hubby ordered some rolls to "sop up" some of that brown butter goodness and he was not disappointed. Everyone was so happy, talkative, truly enjoying the evening. Food is brought up to you, and you can order subsequent rounds of food by crossing out previous orders and marking up the menu anew. I would highly recommend multiple rounds of oysters -- the first to try one of each and figure out which varieties you prefer, the second to get more of the ones you like, and the last to go all in on your favorite. They've got a varied selection that will suit various tastes, whether you favor a large creamy oyster, a small briny guy, or somewhere in between. All from Maine, which made me feel better about having oysters in a non-ber month. The oysters here are top notch, and the shuckers are, too. Not a single speck of shell in there! I love oysters, and this was my paradise. The non oyster items are also worth trying, so if you have a friend who isn't into oysters, there's something here for them, too. The smoked fish dip and french onion dip are awesome, and the chips they get from another local producer are fantastic. Whether you're a beer lover, a wine person, or a cocktailer, they've got something for you here. Any of those could be the perfect company for your favorite oyster, or you could go for their cucumber mint lemonade slushy, which is insanely refreshing and a great palate cleanser between oysters. Service is efficient, welcoming, and friendly. I think anyone from an oyster novice to an aficionado would feel right at home here. If I didn't live on the opposite side of the country, I'd be here all the time. Unfortunately for me, I'm relegated to pining for these oysters from a distance.
