I called in an order tonight Monday 11/25 at 11:24pm, ordered a pound of buffalo garlic parm bone-in wings, a half pound of bbq bone-in wings, and onion rings. They were out of onion rings so I got buffalo chips as per the guy's recommendation. I asked for ketchup, they told me celery was included, and I asked for one blue cheese and one ranch. They said yep got it. I grab the order, come back to my hotel, there's 2 ranches and no blue cheese, the bbq wings are boneless instead of bone-in, there is no ketchup, there are no napkins for these messy wings so I'm in my hotel room using the Kleenex box, and there is NO celery and I should have got 2 orders of it. I usually don't leave reviews but holy crap. To top it off, I see a hair in my box once I started eating. I called to see if I could get some sort of reimbursement since I was not driving back out to the restaurant and my order-taker said he couldn't unless I was in the restaurant. Sigh... I wouldn't have ordered wings without the celery and the boneless wings just aren't good at all. The bone-in wings are actually good, but the buffalo chips fall flat. I'm sure this is a fine place to dine-in and have a drink, but this takeout experience was beyond terrible. Really bummed. read more

I've been going to The Hill for 9 years & always had a decent experience. Tonight 4/12/25 the bouncer made us leave because I pointed at him. He charged us a $20 cover, but he was outside eating out of a ziplock bag & talking to a female, so I kind of felt like he may have been a customer hustling us. I walked inside and asked the bartender if he was real. The bouncer seen me point at him & proceeded to walk in & tell me & my partner to get the fuck outside . He then proceeded to give us our $40 back and told us to "get the fuck out". I asked why and he said "you want to point at me & shit so you can get the fuck out". I tried to just explain that I was making sure he was real and he said "what the fuck am I a ghost". He seems like he may suffer from anger issues or trying to show off for the female he was talking to. If you go here I would recommend not pointing at the bouncer, or you may be cussed out and told to leave. He also charged the people that were outside as we were leaving $30 a piece. So I guess he just makes up the cover fee as he goes. I believe he needs to be fired before busy season starts or they are going to lose alot of business. I will miss the wings. read more

It's alright. I've only ever been on summer evenings, which meant that it's quite low energy. I came here on two wing Wednesdays, and was definitely not impressed. The wings were just okay and the service was alright. It's a good place to chill on a weekday evening if you just want somewhere to go, but just that. Yes, $20/person cover...I'm sure pocketing the cash and taking advantage of college students and their parents...there was an altercation when we were there and the bouncer/staff was encouraging it. Having to give this place even one star is painful. No one should ever step foot inside The Hill. We experienced so many awful things during our visit there during parents weekend, I don't even know where to start. The doorman was rude, vile, and yelled in the faces of people in our group when simply asked how much the cover charge was. Later on in the evening, I watched as the same doorman/bouncer not only stood back & watched as a large group of college students began physically fighting, but he actually encouraged the fight to continue. I think the worst part of our visit to The Hill had to be the disgusting 30yr old male bartender who screamed obscenities in my face when I tried to order a type of beer that apparently was only in the cooler for the owner's girlfriend, not for paying customers, even though it was front and center in the cooler. This man has zero business interacting with any customers. I have to assume he is a family member of the owners, because there is simply no other reason for this man to still have a job. Miserable experience. I go with my dad from Home and am yelled at by the bartender for 5 minutes about how I wasn't ordering something off the gameday menu. All good, I order something off the regular menu and she continues to attack and be rude to me and my dad. One of my favorite bars on campus. Never had a bad time here. Lots of tvs to watch sports and a dj upstairs (some are better than others, dj ne4r was great). Food on wing Wednesdays is also great for the price and comes out quick. Only complaints are the lines and covers on busy nights. Great college bar for people of all ages! read more

Our first time here. It is a definitely alot of regulars. College age. Parking is horrific. Very small inside. Boneless wings decent at $9. Beer battered fries were mislabeled as the tasted like ordinary French fries at $3.50. prices for those items not bad. No craft beer at all. They DO NOT itemize receipt and they charge extra if you pay with a card. So you really don't know what the drink prices are. The Hill is located on Forest Ave on the fringe of "The Fort" and is visible from the Western Ave exit form I-275. The Hill, named for the property owner, opened in 2009 and is your typical college bar. Renovated and converted to a restaurant the building at 1105 Forest Ave sat vacant for years and I believe at one point the building was a full service garage. I dropped by The Hill on a Tuesday night for their "Taco Tuesday" special. The Hill offers daily food and drink specials, that are almost to good to be true. The Tuesday food specials are $1 tacos. I went in skeptical and sat at the bar. You have a choice of hard or soft shell and chicken or beef. I began my night with 5 hard shell beef tacos. The tacos were delivered fast and were visually full. The tacos were stuffed with a spicy runny beef concoction, shredded lettuce and queso blanko. The shells were crunchy but did get slightly watered down at the base. The beef was spicy but not to hot. The lettuce was plentiful and crisp. The cheese was mild. I followed the beef tacos with 5 more chicken hard shell tacos and to be honest they tasted about the same. The different textures of the meats is what distinguished them for me. The food wasn't that bad and it was cheap. The $2.50 imports were also a bonus. All said, I got a decent meal for $15. The bartender was friendly and attentive. The interior is dark, confined and dimly lit by the various TV's hanging from the walls. There is a patio with outdoor seating. The men's restroom is a disaster. A broken urinal and a stain from vomit on the stall wall. The chalk board painted walls are not forgiving, when it comes to hiding the drunken regrets of its customers. The restrooms poor quality drastically effected my review. If you can avoid using the restroom you will have a pretty good time. read more

The Hill is not worth your time, money and frustration. Our daughter and a few of her high school girlfriends attends UTK, and we found this place to meet up with our friends and our kids and their friend's last year. Unfortunately, we discovered a couple of things on our visit this weekend. If you go on their website you can make an event request, so I submitted one to reserve tables, and was told that you can't reserve tables on game days. Getting there when they opened at 11 we discovered it wasn't true because 2 big tables had reserved tags on them and we had 16 people coming to pregame. We also discovered that the mgr or owner (guy about. 5-10, 190 lbs, short black hair, scruffy face) of the Hill has major anger issues and is an extremely rude person to be in the bar business. We were playing music on the juke box for a few minutes before games started and more people arrived. We were playing nice country music, the mgr/owner overrode our country song and when asked about it, he yelled to us from behind the bar to get the F*** out of the bar. When asked what the problem was, he yelled at another person in the party to get the F*** out. As we left, I spoke with the guys running the parking outside and he apologized, saying that he can be a major jerk. read more
