IF YOU ARE DRIVING THROUGH YUMA - YOU NEED TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT. We were driving back to the Valley and wanted dinner and make sure you make the drive off the freeway to this amazing bbq joint. Fantastic food, excellent service from our server, and the bbq sauces were all unique and delicious (and the condiment sow was hilarious). We did 1/2 rack of ribs (Mac n cheese and baked beans sides), brisket slider, pulled pork sandwich, and brisket tacos - and each was right on point for bbq lovers. The dinning room is quaint and a chill vibe (we were here on a Wednesday. My wife even made a purchase in Lucille's Market. This review is for the location in Yuma in the old La Fonda restaurant behind Napa Store on fourth Avenue. My son had been telling my husband and I to go try this restaurant out in Highway 95 for a while now, and they brought it closer in town. So he ended up taking us out to lunch and oh my gosh if you're into barbecue, it's a must try. They have awesome customer service, the restaurant is super cute the way they decorated it. And the food is amazing. Every sandwich that we tried was so good.. The meat is so tender. We ended up getting a half rack of baby back ribs, a brisket, a dirty south, and a Tri tip sandwiches. My daughter got sliders can't remember the meat that she got with a side of a Mac & cheese.. Additionally, they have a little thrift store inside the location it's super cute. They have a lot of vintage items. I ended up picking up a pair of pants.. Overall, if you're into barbecue or just visiting Yuma. And you've never made it to their location on Highway 95. Moved from California and was really hoping to find a solid go-to for pork ribs -- something like Phil's BBQ. Unfortunately, this wasn't it. The ribs were tender, but lacked smoke flavor, weren't juicy, and were served cold, which was a big letdown. Fries were the highlight -- hot and fresh. This unique restaurant is located just off Hwy 95 North of Yuma. Plenty of places for indoor and outdoor dining. Staff is friendly and informative. We didn't wait long for our order. We tried the bbq platter and ribs with Cole slaw and fried okra, hush puppies, cornbread and roll. Brisket, pulled pork with sweet bbq sauce for the pork and mustard based sauce for the ribs and brisket. All meats were delicious. Unique second hand or new clothing, jewelry, accessories, kitchen dining, household and general merchandise for sale. First the bad: the sides here are WEAK. They are mediocre at best. I got the veggies and the mac n cheese and both tasted like they were out of a bag. You might be thinking "Andrew, why are you critiquing the veggies at a BBQ joint?" Well, I'm from the south. When I see "DIRTY SOUTH" in title, I expect Southern BBQ and in Southern BBQ unlike may "other" kinds: sides are a big deal. The biggest deal side is probably collard greens. There are no collard greens here. But, as you see by the 5-star review, this place is still worth visiting! Why? Because the meat is sublime. One of the only places on earth that knows how to make moist brisket. I almost never even order brisket anymore because usually has the feel of "wet beefy jerky" and scrapes your throat as you swallow. Not here! I the tri tip was also incredible, as was the pork. (let's be honest though, pretty easy to make moist pig) And, the best for last: it's BYOB! So bring your most bodacious and badass beers! First time customer. First, I like the Texas-cowboy-farm redecoration of the prior Mexican restaurant. Was greeted upon entry & sat quickly just before the noon rush. The menu has a good variety of choices & I went with a 3-meat combo. I took 2/3 of it home and stretched it into a total of 3 meals. The tri-tip and brisket had a nice smoked flavor & the pulled pork was yummy. On the downside, the Mac & cheese was somewhat dry, but otherwise tasty. The potato salad was served in an ample small dish but was kinda "sloppy wet" but I say that in a good way. I did not care for the iced tea, the flavor seemed a little off to me, next time I'll order soda instead. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch and will definitely be back next time I visit Yuma. read more

Terrible experience at the Rodeo! The person working the Rodeo DSBBQ stand needs a math class on how to return change. 23 dollars and gave them 40. I had to keep on telling them that I had $17. coming back. Took a few minutes to explain this. Also took a long time after (40 minutes) waiting for a brisket sandwich to come, to slice meat and put it on bread. I had to ask for a refund and a lot of people waited. What a hidden gem! It didn't look like much from the outside - in fact, we weren't even sure it was open - but the service was friendly and quick and the food was excellent. Worst in the city! My husband and I went here last week for "dinner". The food was horrendous. Dried up and hard as a rock. I ordered BBQ chicken and all I got was a plate of dried and hard chicken pieces, with BBQ sauce on the side. WHY do they advertise their food as "BBQ" if they only smoke it and you then have to go to a serving station to get the BBQ sauce? My husband wanted to order a half rack of BBQ ribs but they were 'all out" (a BBQ restaurant running out of the meats in the middle of dinner service?), so he had to order a "platter' of some sort that had two ribs with it. What is THAT all about? Couldn't they just give him the ribs from that platter and make it enough for a half rack? (2 x 3 = 6 = half rack). He also ordered the hush puppies. See the picture below to see how dried up and hard as rock they were. We bounced them on the table and it sounded like golf balls. In addition to the food being the most terrible we have ever had, the waitress was rude and ignorant. When I asked her for the bill that we waited for almost 20 minutes for, she yelled across the room that she "was the only server on duty!" And she "would get it when she could". We had already watched her clear plates from tables and bring drinks to many other patrons for more than 20 minutes. Hence the long wait for our bill. When she brought it to us I asked her what her name was and she snapped back that she "doesn't like giving her name to guests". What restaurants have servers that never give you their name and say they will be your server the minute they come to your table to take your order? We have never been to one. After a few seconds she said her name was Latisha(??) or some such phony name that she obviously made up. Needless to say I have posted my review on all of the social media sites I am a member of and where I am a senior contributor for hotels and restaurants. We will ever frequent this place ever again. And we will make all of our friends and family aware of this place. I will say they have the right name: Dirty BBQ House? It is a dirty place. See the pictures attached. read more

But was pleasantly surprised with a friendly gentalmen at the front who gave us a hike reccomendation after chatting about just coming from one! And thankfully we were hungry! Our love of BBQ was satisfied today with a trip out on 95 about 20 minutes from Yuma. Before you know it you are at the exit out in the middle of nowhere near farmland and desert peaks. We called ahead to make sure they still had a supply of ribs left. They sell out quickly. We order a full rack with a couple sides. The meat was tender and sauce tart and sweet...yummy. More like Dirty Business. Duck this place and go to Arby's to get a good brisket sandwich. Their robbing people with their sandwich portion for the price. I over heard the owner say she requires 5 oz of brisket and 2 oz of coleslaw. With the meal she gives fries so I guess she tries to fill you up and make you feel like you're getting a deal. Decent taste on the sandwich. For the portion with fries, 12 dollars would be fair. At the rodeo it was $17 and $16 in the restaurant. I ordered a plain brisket and they served it to me with slaw and bbq sauce at the rodeo. Over half of it was fat so I took it back. Waited about 10 minutes for them to I guess re-bbq brisket, slice it, weigh it, and put it on a bun. Got tired of the wait so I asked the owner for a refund because I was missing the rodeo, she said no because they already made it and were bringing it out. Another few seconds went by and she recognized what she said wasn't true so she went and got it herself. I hope she was able to resell the fries I didn't want. A 5oz brisket with 2oz of slaw, and a handful of fries spells struggle to me. I wish this place would go back out to where they were and La Fonda would come back. Our first time here, we have seen it from the roadway when we went to Parker Arizona and also to Lake Havasu. We pulled in to do a "harvest host" for the night, but got here rather early about 230. We parked near the entrance until there was space to put our motorhome in the parking lot. We went inside. The girl greeted us, and we started to order and two different times as we placed our order she said they were out of it, which is probably a good thing since it was midday. I just think they could've put a sign up or something. Their meat platter was a good price point but we couldn't have that and the tri-tip was all sold out as well. We waited quite a long time for our food, but we were in no rush & at the end of their busy time because the next people that came in after us got their food much faster than we did. But we were in no hurry so it wasn't a big deal. We had their beef brisket and half a slab of ribs, with two sides, mac & cheese, and baked beans. Everything was so delicious. former employee here! I'll start off by saying my issue is not necessarily with the restaurant itself, the food, or even the employees. The employees that I worked with were amazing and the food is fantastic. Despite my employment being *VERY* brief I still appreciated the opportunity, but I've seen a lot of people applying and for those of you currently doing so id be careful. I'm not saying any names out of respect for everyone's privacy and I expect the same done for me. what I do not appreciate and what I will not stand for is an employer/ business owner that goes out of their way to look for a reason to fire someone, makes them wait 4 days to find out they're fired (they could have been told that information over a phone call and a time could have been arranged to collect their final paycheck), but then can't even fire them herself. If I am being treated unfairly I WILL speak up. I had one day that I wasn't my best and when I asked to take a minute to take a deep breath, not a 15, not a 30, a MINUTE to collect myself and take a deep breath so I could go back and do my job (it was about to get busy so I felt I was doing the right thing by preparing myself because I don't want to take my emotions out on guests, which I thought was okay because the owner herself told us servers that if we needed to take care of ourselves that all we had to do was ask and it was okay- I didnt know she didn't actually mean that.) and was sent home even though I could most definitely still do my job. I was then essentially told to come back next time good as new, only to be removed from the schedule the next day. When I asked about it the owner refused to communicate with me for 4 days, telling me that our group chat was not the 'proper forum' to discuss things, but there was never a discussion or any sort of proper communication, and I was never asked for my side of things. When I came in to collect my final paycheck, the owner did not speak to me other than when I first walked through the door. She went to her office and had the cashier hand me my final paycheck. This is where I'm told that it wasn't the first time I had issues and that it happened 'several times' ( it couldn't have. I hadn't worked there enough- in fact I spent most of the previous week calling every day to see when I could pick up some hours). Then when I tell her that no, it did NOT happen several times and I ask for the actual reason she starts to tell me 'we aren't required to give you one' which Ive worked long enough to know obviously translates to 'we don't actually have one, we were looking for one' , and that's odd because she JUST told me that it was because the one day I wasn't my best and wasnt having a good day wasn't the first time, so which one is it?? I DID in fact speak up in the group chat when this happened because I was rightfully upset. I meant every word, and you can call me unprofessional if you want, and it probably WAS unprofessional. but you most definitely don't get to talk to me about professionalism when this is the way you fire people. You don't have to respond to this either. But you don't get to treat someone like that and expect them to just let it ride. read more

On the way home to Quartzsite uve been wanting to stop here and finally got the opportunity! Love the place but understand they are moving into Yuma. I'm sure they will have the same great ambience!
